[THEME MUSIC] Come on, God is able. God is able to do just when He said He would do. He's going to fulfill every promise to you. Don't give up on God, because He wants to give up on you. He's able, oh, oh, oh, oh, he's able, he's able, oh, oh, oh. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, may in past day be we join our faith with your wonderful people this morning. Dear God as we present in this new series, overcoming adversity, speak to them, Lord. Speak to their hearts, speak to their minds. Lord, comfort your people, comfort your people, Lord. There is nothing like a fresh word from God. Many of your people are looking to you in faith. They have their hearts open, their ears are open. Because, Lord, you said, my sheep know my voice, and a stranger they will not follow. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Speak to your people this morning. Speak to your people this morning. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, somebody say amen. So as we continue this morning, I want to jump now into the book of Ruth chapter three, and we will pick up where we left off at the end of chapter two, because, Boaz has certainly given all the signs that he has absolutely had over heels and love it, Ruth. I mean, this man is beside himself now. And it's pretty obvious what's happening. So, we gonna talk about timing is everything, because you gotta make your move at the right time. Watch this, let's go into Ruth chapter three, beginning at verse one through nine. I love the oldest things, because they are so blunt. They don't have time to beat around the bush, they bend it and done it, dang it, time to play. Watch this now in the book of Ruth chapter three, verse one through nine. One day, Naomi said to Ruth, my daughter, it's time that I found a permanent home for you, so that you will be provided for. Lord of mercy, I'm sure my daughter, Shawn is on a shout and roll over on the ground when she had the scripture. (laughing) Yeah, I'm teasing all my daughters, 'cause yeah, they're ready to get, they're ready to move on to the next stage. Oh, Lord of mercy, I'm embarrassed that my daughter's. Watch this, one day Naomi said to Ruth, my daughter, it's time that I found a permanent home for you, so that you will be provided for. In other words, Naomi said, Ruth, you've been faithful, you've been loyal to me, now it's time, God bring that man into your life, and it's time for you to tie the knot and go into the next phase and the next season that God have for your life. That's good news. She's actually getting the blessing of her mother-in-law. That's what I, that's a good mother-in-law, 'cause her sons are dead. That's a mother-in-law who cares about the best interests of her daughter-in-law. Naomi said it's time, Ruth. It's time to turn this page, that old season is over. Now God wants to do something absolutely mind-blowing and new in your life. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to the power that works in us. Isaiah 43, 19, he said, "Behold, I will do a new thing." Praise God. New, can someone say new, new, new? Watch this. Verse two, Naomi is still talking. Boaz is a close relative of us, and he's been very kind by letting you gather grain with his young women. Tonight, he will be winnowing Bali at the threshing floor. In other words, that was the place where they separated the wheat from the chaff. And according to their culture, Naomi is instructing. Ruth according to their culture because you know, every different country have their own cultures and customs, you understand? So thank God, it's so good to have someone in your life to help guide you, to help teach you, to help instruct you. So Naomi is telling Ruth how to go about it. And only, listen, it's good to accept counsel. The Bible said in the multitude of the counselors, there is safety. Verse three, Naomi said, "Now do as I tell you, take a bath, I tell you what this will preach right here." So listen to what Naomi said, Naomi said, "Now do as I tell you, take a bath and put on perfume and dress in your nicest clothes. Let him smell you from a mile coming down." (laughs) Especially with the windblowing and his direction, you know? Let him smell you a mile coming. (laughs) Lord, some of you are enjoying this a little too much. So she said, "Do as I tell you, take a bath, put on perfume and dress in your nicest. Come on ladies, come on, put on the hookup. Get that makeup, do like my girls. They're being the restroom two, three hours putting on makeup, blow all that mercy. (laughs) Come on, get dressed. Look your best, you don't know when you gonna meet Mr. Wright. Amen? Then go to the threshing floor, but don't let boys see you until he has finished eating and drinking. I mean, Naomi's setting boys right up. Naomi was a seasoned veteran. You know, you know us, man, we are so settled on after a good meal, that's the best time to catch us, right? (laughs) 'Cause I mean, he's just calm and contented, but Naomi is advising Ruth. Be sure to notice where he lies down. Then go and uncover, this is their custom now, then go and uncover his feet and lie down there. He will tell you what to do. Wow, listen to me, saints. God will tell you what to do. He will show you what to do. He will show you how to take the next steps for the next season in your life. And Naomi is telling Ruth she's guiding her through the whole process. Oh, thank God for a person like Naomi. Who would say, Pastor, I need a Naomi in my life. You gotta pay attention, they're all around you. You just gotta ask her to open your spiritual eyes. Watch this now, verse five. I, listen to what Ruth said, Ruth said, I will do everything you say, Ruth replied. Naomi, I'm gonna do whatever you tell me, because I know you love me. You've been a mom to me. You've been more than a mom and mentor. You've been there, they've instructed me to guide me. I'm so happy God put you in my life. You better thank God for wise counsel. Verse six, so she went down to the threshing floor that night, and followed the instructions of her mother-in-law. You see, Ruth wasn't a know-it-all. Ruth was humble. She was teachable. Only a fool will harden this heart against good sound advice. Ain't no one person know it all. It's a wise thing to listen to the counsel of others, that you know genuinely care about you, and have your best interests at heart. Watch this now, verse seven. After boys had finished eating and drinking and was in good spirits. He laid down at the end of the pile of grain and went to sleep, boy, he was getting ready to be in a shock when he got up. Then Ruth came quietly, uncovered his feet and laid down. Oh, here it goes, verse eight. Around midnight, boys suddenly woke up and turned over. He was surprised to find a woman lying at his feet. Caught him to that costume he knew with this man. She's making herself available to be this man's wife. Who are you, he asks. I am your servant, Ruth, and I know he was hoping it was. She replied, spread the corner of your covering over me. For you are my family redeemer. You are my kinsmen redeemer. According to your culture, boys and your custom, you are next in line. I could be a wife and you could become a husband, rightfully so. Lord have mercy. Timing is everything. She did it at the right time. She was unable to discern the right time, but Naomi, her mother-in-law, knew the timing of these things. Like the sons of Issacu, what understanding of the times and knew what Israel ought to do. There's a time to cut back, and there's a time to push forward. Naomi discerned it was time. God was opening the door for Ruth. He was stirring boys his heart. Moving on that man to fall in love with Ruth. It was God's plan. God has somebody for you. I say God has somebody, but you gotta take advice. Don't be a know it all. Ruth was willing to listen to the advice of an elder woman who loved her and cared about her, her mother-in-law, from a husband who had died. Ruth was guiding, I mean, Naomi was guiding Ruth through the whole process. Don't be a know it all. Humble yourself. There is safety in the multitude of counselors. Why is planning a hard work leads to prosperity? Because Naomi was guiding Ruth through the whole process. It only could go up from here. You need advice. You need sound counsel in your life. Don't be a know it all. You need good people in your life to advise you, to direct you, to instruct you. People who love you and care about you. Father God, me and Bastia, me join our faith with your wonderful people. Help them to discern the times. There's a time and a purpose to everything under the heavens. Lord, I pray for the wisdom of God. I pray for the leading and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in their lives. That they will not be brash and make fast decisions, but they will take their time. They will take their time and allow you to honor their steps and direct them. Lord, your word says those who are led by the Spirit of God, are the sons of God. Isaiah 48, 17, the Lord says, "I will lead you and guide you in the way that you should go." I'm the larger God who teaches you how to profit. God, just how you made a way for Ruth. Just how you gave Ruth favor. Just how you gave Ruth somebody to help lead a guide and advisor. Do the same for our wonderful audience. Main past day, maybe we covered them this morning. We ask you to bless them with counsel, God. Bless them with wisdom, bless them with direction and instruction from the word. Thy word, O Lord, have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against you. Thank you for ministering to your people this morning. Thank you for encouraging them, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray somebody say, amen.
