Changing Accents, Changing Lives
Research conducted in Antarctica shows that when you put people together in isolation, their accents begin to shift. The BBC reported that over a 26-week period, the accents of people at a research station near the bottom of the planet began to change slightly. They said, "Over time, if we have a regular and prolonged contact with someone, we can start to pick up their sounds. You're influenced by those you spend time with, for good if you surround yourself with people of faith, and for not so good if you immerse yourself in the popular culture." 2 Corinthians 3, 18 says, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
