They're largest win since defeating the Giants. Okay, about 29 to three during week 17 of the 2021 season. Big win, big spot. And you move on from here. Johnny I feel like I need to smoke a cigarette. That's how good it feels to have a quarterback look like that. We have not had a quarterback look like that. And you could give me all the best games that our quarterbacks in recent memory have played. Whether it was Mitch for six touchdowns against Tampa. Or Justin had that big game when they beat the commanders in Washington. Or some Cutler stuff. Guess what? That's what a pro quarterback looks like. Like the touchdown to DJ Moore right before halftime. The second one. Where Shay and I were just watching the tape. Where he looks to the right. The safety bites. You see him take off thinking Keenan Allen on a. As water would call a skinny post. And then bam right back down the middle. Gotcha. Perfect throw where if DJ doesn't catch it. It's an incomplete pass. You don't worry about an interception there. Because he put it in that spot. So great job with his eyes. Great job with his arm. Great catch by DJ Moore. Thanks for coming 30 consecutive points later. Bears win. Yeah, it's a great rhythm for Caleb Williams and the Bears offense. Just a game that you had to win against the hapless Carolina Panthers ball club. But the point is the gap is that this is the most comfortable that Caleb Williams has been with the offense since he's been here. The defense the same way is the most comfortable the defense has been this season as well. But what I loved is that there won't be any controversy this week about the offensive line. Because the offensive line did the job to be able to open those holes with DeAndre Swift. The open those holes for Roshan Johnson. And then from there just being able to connect to his receivers cap. It's not like he was trying to throw 80 yard bombs every time. He's just trying to get comfortable with the offense. Here's DJ Moore. He's wide open. Hit him on a 34 yarder. Here's Cole Comette. He's open for a 26 yarder. Here's DeAndre Swift. Just give it to him and he'll go 42 yards. It's just getting comfortable. Colored by the numbers offense. Hit your weapons. Keep the offense moving. And that's exactly what we saw yesterday. It's exactly what we were looking forward to all season. But this is the best that he's looked without question. Without a doubt. I want you to remember something you and I talked about last year. It was late in the season. When it was obvious they weren't going to the playoffs. And did I not say to you and you could curve? See that light everybody there down there? These are light coming. That's a train coming this way and you people have no idea what's about to hit you. That's Caleb Williams incoming. No, we're going to trade the pick. No, that's your guy right there. I know it's five games. There'll be hiccups. There's going to be a Monday. We're going to come here and go. He looked horrible. Sure. That's what happens with young quarterbacks. We got our guy. That dude is a stud. And everyone's going to call it. It was Caroline and Cap. Guess what? It was an NFL team with guys coming after him. And he did what he had to do when he had to do it. Big throws in big spots. He ran for 34 yards on five carries and I felt like every one of the yards was important. And it was super cool, man. To see Tyson Major take three knees at the end. It was like, wow, we got this one put away early. Yes. It was awesome. So hats off. They get on a jet tonight. 7.30 tonight. Wheels up for London. Remember when Negi was here? I think we flew out like on Thursday night. He said, no, we get in play and get out. And now they've done a lot of studying. And Iberflu said, hey, man, it's not me. The people that do this for living polls and his people. They did a deep study with sleep experts. All of it. The best way to do it is to get there early in the week. They get their day off tomorrow. Do some sightseeing. Then lock in on their time schedule. And then you get a whole week off with the bye week. So super cool. So good for the Chicago Bears with their victory against the Panthers. But to lock in on Caleb Williams. And I'll go along with what you're saying about Caleb Williams is the Carolina Panthers. Has anyone seen the National Football League? Anything can happen. Correct. It's football. Correct. I mean, listen, the Carolina Panthers, they're a football team too. And just because they've had their struggles doesn't mean that the Bears could just roll over them. That was not an automatic. Because even with the Rams game, there are some things that we talked about last week, Cap, that the Bears still need to improve on. And by the way, I'm sure that the coaches look at this film against Carolina and say, hey, we can get better at this. We can tighten the screws here or there. But I just want to give a stat that I'm going to be given all week until you're tired of it. Regarding Caleb Williams against the Blitz. Because against the Panthers yesterday, Caleb Williams on 31% of his dropbacks for the third game this season facing the Blitz. At least 30% of the time, he wins 8 for 10 for 128 yards in a touchdown. So under pressure, he's getting that ball out three seconds or less and boom, hitting his targets. 8 for 10, 126 yards in a touchdown against the Blitz. So that means that you are starting to graduate from just, hey, here's a quarterback facing pressure versus, hey, they're coming at you. You know how to get the ball to commit. You know how to get the ball to swift. That is improvement from week to week. He had six different receivers for multiple catches. It's not like one catch here or there. Six different guys caught multiple passes. The defense comes to eat. The Kevin Bayern interception. Tom Thayer on the ESPN 1000 Hope of the Bears broadcast said that might be the best interception I've ever seen a bear player make. Like he went up high point at that ball. It was a hell of a play. He's also the leading active interceptor among defensive backs or safeties. And I believe he's fourth among all active players all time in interceptions. Guys, a beast man. So I guess my point is that with the Colts and the Rams and the Panthers, I guess these defensive coordinators reach these three teams feel like he's young quarterback was put pressure on him and Caleb Williams has been able to master it. That is progress. That means that you're going in the right direction. Colts Rams and Panthers say it's a young quarterback. If we give him some heat, then he'll go backwards and get sacks or he'll throw an interception. Now, Caleb Williams actually has been really good at being able to handle the pressure so far. We'll see what happens against the Jaguars on Sunday. Every week, it's a test. Yep. It's a cool business trip, but that's what it is. And I want to ask Coach Eber Flus, Matt. Eber Flus joins us at 8/20 today. I would like to ask him. It's a cool experience. A lot of these guys have never been to England. I know Eber Flus said yesterday to the game, he went to Italy for vacation this summer. I've done that same trip. There is a factor of adjustment with your body clock. It's real. Like people who haven't made that trip, they don't understand it. You come back and you're exhausted. Now you're going to get the week off with your bi-week. That's perfect timing. But how do you balance, yeah, I want you guys to enjoy this experience. It's a long season. This is out of the norm. We're not going to Indianapolis where we get in, eat, film, get ready, play, go home. We're going to London. There'll be a ton of Bears fans. There are a ton. A friend of mine who works at the airport texting me, I say, you cannot believe how many Bears fans are already here flying to London. They're going to spend the whole week there. Yeah. So super, super cool experience. So how do you balance that by you got to get on that plane next Sunday night? One and all this week. Boy, we travel well. These charter franchises cap. And no matter what, they find time in the schedule. And these are not retirees either. I think that a lot of these people are hard working men and women that say, my Bears are going to go someplace I want to see them. Yeah, they saved their money. They're like, hey, this year's trip, we're going to London to see the Bears. Crazy. Super cool, man. Who the opponent is is just to be able to support the Bears abroad, wherever they are. And of course, we have our listeners and callers from the UK that I'm sure you're going to try to find a way to get into that stadium to check out the Bears. That shows you how strong the Bears have been over the years cap. And obviously it starts with the 85 Bears where that's that Super Bowl shuffle song. It's not a Chicago song. It's everywhere. Everyone's into it. And then when we get calls from Mexico on the show, you calls from the UK, it just shows you how strong, how passionate the Bears fan is everywhere. And it shows you that all these years where they were horrible. Yeah. How much people still out there? Please let my Bears be good. So again, it's a work in progress. They're a long, long way from where we need them to be. But this kid is developing right before your eyes. He is. Yes. Just embrace it, man. We've got a quarterback. So you're saying that the Bears and Caleb Williams are chasing greatness. They're chasing greatness. I see. And they're making a little progress on that journey up the greatness mountain. There's a greatness mountain. There is. Okay. When you get to the top, there's this super cool thing. It's called a Lombardi trophy. And when you get to the top of the greatness mountain. There's a trophy you get to take home. And it's yours. And then you go all the way back to the bottom and you try the climb again. But this time, people are ready for you. Cap, are there like a mountain sweatshirts and t-shirts and get chasing greatness mountains? Yes. 100%. Oh, there that's coming to design right now. Just wait until the break, folks. He'll be right on the phone. Killing those mountain t-shirts. Bill, yeah, a little early. I just came up with an idea with hoodie. Greatness mountain. I need a mountain. Quarterback with a bushy beard. Climbing up there. Okay. Leading his minions. I was just asking. I just, that's something new. So I just wondered like, can I get that merchandise? That's it. Bill, about the recap. Can I be able to get that? Someday. Okay. 3-1-2-3-2-E-S-P-N-3-3-2-3-7-7-6-0 phone number. Let's get your thoughts about the Bears and their victory against the Carolina players. What did you like most about the Bears' victory against the Panthers? Still to come? Some thoughts from Caleb Williams, the quarterback for the Bears, and your thoughts Bears fans on the Captain J. Hood Morning Show. Captain J. Hood, on the back. Appreciate you guys. I listened to you streaming on ESPN 1,000 apps. Chicago's home for sports. ESPN Chicago. They clocked down to six. Don't still get people lined up. He's got trips to the right, back to his left. Low snap. Takes looking to throw. Pressure coming. He hangs in there. They go deep down the middle of the field. Diving intercepted. Kevin Beyerd at the 34-yard line of the Bears, defending Johnathan Mingo. Feared a push-off, and Mingo, but it was fired. Became the receiver, and he swiped his 29th career interception. One of the best since he's entered the league, and the Bears have taken the ball away for a second time. Jeff and Tom on the call right here on the home of the Bears. ESPN 1,000 as the Bears defeat the Panthers by a score of 36 to 10. We're talking about it. Did you get your chance to watch the game? We're losing to it right here on the home of the Bears. ESPN 1,000. Jump in. 3, 1, 2, 3, 3, 2. ESPN 3, 3, 2, 3, 7, 7, 6 is our phone number. We'll hear from Mattie Reflus, the head coach for the Bears, coming up at 8.20, right here on the home of the Bears. The cap is just, you know, watching the Bears be able to score. Put up a 20 spot in the second quarter. Just everything just worked so well for the Bears offensively. And again, it just seemed like the Panthers were just like a step slow or two steps behind. We've seen this before, right? If you're the linebackers in the secondary and the ball gets there, it just seemed like the Panthers are always late. Won't say business decisions. That might be a little bit strong, but it just seemed like the Bears were just on it and knew exactly where they want to place the football yesterday. They just looked after the run by Chuba Hubbard. Yeah, Chuba Hubbard gets that run for a touchdown at 7-0. And then I thought, again, you could give me the halftime, right before halftime drive. You could give me a second half drive. But I thought the drive that was most critical right before, right after the Chuba Hubbard run was Caleb taking them down the field and getting 7 to DJ Moore. And A, you're down 7-0. You've already gone three and out once. If you go three and out again and somehow, some way, they score and you go, "Oh, God." Two scores in a hole, 10 or 14. Not good. Now that Boobards are out. Instead, he takes him right down the field and then he hits DJ who makes a great, great cut along the sideline, bounces it back inside, gets the touchdown. Everybody relaxed, quiet, we're good. And now you score 30 unanswered. Ballgame over. Yes. Because that first drive cap, that first down throw behind Keaton Allen, like, "Do I do this again?" It's right there. You've got to throw behind Keaton Allen. And then the second down is a three-yard run to swift and then a third down sack. That's no good. And so now you're watching, like, we're going back to this again. You've got to miss the wide receiver wide open there with you. And so that was great. The touchdown, by the way, by Hubbard that you mentioned, is one of the few times I've seen the Bears defense flat-footed. It's very odd because this way he was able to burrow that hole through and, like, nobody's getting them. They have a really good offensive line. In fact, Carolina spends more on their offensive line than 95% of the NFL. So they have good players up there. They got him a crease. And once he made "Bired Miss"... That's it. See you later. Yeah. Everybody didn't get him. And he ends up in the end zone. That's why I thought the drive was so important right out of that at Caleb Deliver. Like an answer. Right after that touchdown by Carolina. Guys, relax. Yeah, we're good. And then boom. And then DJ with a really good sprout as he drags across, catches it. He's getting to the sideline. And it was like a basketball jump stop, like a little jump cut. Boom! Back up inside. Make a little hesitation, move it to goal line in the end zone. Here we go. As much as people want to see this in Game 1 of the Chicago Bears, again, we say the same things that people can hear what they want to hear. But I've been very consistent with this, as you well know, because you're with me every day. Now, for a young quarterback, you have to learn. Game after game. Accentuate the pauses. Hide the negatives. Get better every week. One of the criticisms of Caleb Williams' cap was that he wasn't moving the pocket enough. Okay, so what we saw is, in that first half, I really like the way to kill up, move the pocket, going to his right, finding DJ Moore for those 23 yards. Remember that? He runs to his right and finds the open receiver. So there's an opportunity for him to get the ball, move the pocket, and be able to connect to DJ Moore. And, you know, one thing that we did not mention all last week, I don't know if this is on DJ Moore's mind, but the revenge factor of trying to put on a show against his team. I mean, the whole thought last week was that there was a disconnect between DJ Moore and Caleb Williams, which I think is completely false. I don't think that there was a rift or anger between the two. They were just trying to figure out how they could be on the same page. Well, that's all. Remember last week somebody tweeted, "Look, he's sitting by himself on the bench, sulking. He's mad." Yeah. After he'd crossed the touchdown yesterday, he guess where he was sitting? By himself. By himself. And somebody, I was talking to somebody who was around there, they said, "He does that after everything. He likes to be alone in his headspace. Had nothing to do with Caleb." But, of course, that didn't fit everybody's narrative in social media world. It was such a non-story. I know we addressed it some on the show last week, but it's just about how... We did. Yeah, we did. It's just about how the team can gel. Both sides of the football. Correcting staff. Everyone can communicate because it's so early in the season. But everyone's trying to find a rift. Hopefully that it will get on first take or one of these shows on FS1. It just wasn't going to happen. DJ Moore, I think Sylvie had circled it on his Twitter of DJ Moore sitting alone. That's what he does. As long as he's productive, I don't care. That's what he does. DJ not Sylvie. Yeah. Yes. I think that... Well, also, he also does that. Swing on his sad swing. Yeah, the swing of Sock, right? Yeah. No, he calls it. He sits alone there too. DJ Moore, five receptions, give 105 yards and a couple of touchdowns, was exactly what the doctor ordered. Caleb Williams talking about how the offense took a major step. I mean, when you're able to be efficient down the field and obviously we had to cold down the sideline a couple of screens and things like that and, you know, playing well with each other of short passes, good runs, you know, check downs. And then obviously opened it up and being able to hit a couple of deep balls. I think it won limits kind of what defenses can do in a sense of, you know, when you're hitting on different things now, the defense is just trying to scramble and, you know, trying to figure it out. And when you're being consistent, how we wear today with the run game and obviously with the past game and hit some explosive, you know, some explosive plays, it does good for the whole football team. It keeps us on the football field, being efficient, and then when you have those big plays, the momentum swings and things like that. Yeah, so it's great for the football team and having those momentum swings and being able to keep it with the team that we have in defense and special teams and offense, you know, us playing together and playing like that. You know, you're going to win a lot of games. Yeah, I'm sure that taking on the Panthers defense, especially that second quarter cap, it just probably opened up the world of possibilities for him as a quarterback saying, you know, when I got time, I could be able to collect everybody. It was really interesting. First of all, I thought the offensive line had a good day. They did. Bill Murray's in there and Matt Pryor. Prior, the keys defending his guy. Roshan Jefferson got punched yesterday, did nothing. Yes. Got punched. That's the second time this year. Mm-hmm. Remember in the Houston game? Same thing. That punched on the sideline, he wasn't even playing. Staying it over there. Bam. I'm like, why is he getting punched again? He must be a blank talker for him to get punched twice. I guess. I don't know. But then Pryor came over and defended his honor. And then here came 52 and just blasted Pryor. And Pryor's a big man now. Six, seven, three, thirty. Like he's a monster. Down he goes. And then they kicked Pryor out of the game. 52 got a 15 or 10 yard, was it a 15 yard penalty? Yeah, 15 yard penalty. Mm-hmm. And somebody on the bear's got one as well. And then Pryor and J.C. Horne got kicked out. Yes. So, yeah, got a little nasty there at the end. A little frustration. But the Panther operation is just a long way from where it needs to be. Yes. I like their coach. He has a great rep in the league, Dave Canales. And he and Waldring used to work together. And I guess he and Iberflus have a relationship. So, they just have a long, long way to go. Yes, folks. It gives you the old memories of Andy Dalton. That's the Andy I know. Barely throwing it over 10 yards. Yeah, that's him. Natronics then plays just nickel and diamond it down the field. Hand the ball off. That's Andy Dalton. Correct. Keeps in the ball game now. He keeps in the ball game. But he's looking for, like, Instagram plays or a spectacular splash play. And that's not Andy Dalton. They showed the graphic during the game. Like, he could barely get it past 15 yards. Just not in him anymore. You have SAC four times, I believe, hit 10. Germant Dexter, happy birthday. Turn 23 on Saturday. He is the leading sacker of an interior lineman in the Nashville bubble. He has four in five weeks. That guy transformed himself. And we talked about this at length. He trained, he said, like, a marathoner. He did the wide receiver room testing. He said, "I'm going to train, like, those guys so that I don't get tired." He's a beast. An absolute beast. So that is a huge, huge player development kudos for that stat. When we asked the question many times, besides Montez Sweat, who can be able to make a difference on the defense, we're starting to get names on a regular basis now. Dexter, Billings, the Marcus Walker. There was a sandwich sack that we saw on Dalton on Sunday. Yeah, it was Walker and Dexter, right? They had the sandwich? Yeah. Yeah. So Cap, every time we're asking who else is going to make a difference on that defensive line, we're getting answers. Every week, it's revealing a self-shay of guys that could make a difference. If you had told me pre-season that there would be multiple occasions of me watching the Bears and going, "Oh, my God, Andrew Billings, I would have never believed you. He's unreal." That's why Paul's extended him last year, remember? Yeah. He would never get him at the price he got him at. His development as a pass rusher is incredible. I don't want to say the hot take unlike anything I've ever seen, but it is a little marvelous. How did this happen? That is where he plays, that is what Flus says is the key to our football team defensively up front. It's not having the two best ends, that's a great thing to have, but Montes Sweets getting doubled, and guess what? He's getting pressured, Andy Dalton, from the interior of our line. Yeah. Dexter, and as you said Billings, and then there's Demarcus Walker, and then they had a corner blitz where Kyla Gordon just lit his ass up. Yes. Down. And I know people are going, like, you watched the game yesterday, "Oh, well, it's Carolina, let's do it against a good team." The one thing I would say when you're talking about the pressure that the interior of this defensive line is getting, that Carolina O-line so far this season has not allowed pressures. Yes. And you got through them. Yeah, they have one of the, again, I said a little bit ago, they spend more on their offensive line than 95% of the NFL. They've got a good O-line. So they're building a foundation there. And for those that say, "Well, it's just Carolina, I'm not going to call," or, "I don't think it's a big deal." Again, this is not trying to determine who's going to be in the national championship playoff and college football. They beat an NFL team. Imagine if we come in here on this Bears Monday and they lost against Carolina, because that's likely too. And this NFL, anything could happen. I'm just glad that the Bears took care of their business at Soldier Field and they beat the hell out of Carolina. That's not a given. Nothing's a given anymore in this league. They also have the longest win streak at home in the NFL right now. Active. Eight consecutive games. Seven now eight, right? Yeah. Which is great. I mean, it's great. Hoodie, to your point, look around this league yesterday. How many teams are outclassing their opponent? Very few. And in fact, there are more cases of the New York Giants beating Seattle. Hello, who had that? Seattle at three and one coming back after the, after the Lions game. And the, the dead New York Giants walk in there and beat them. Yeah. How did our pick go? How did our pick go? The Panthers. How did our picks go? I had a bad time in the NFL. I did well in college. You did. He's, yeah. I know. Showing out Washington Huskies taking care of business. Yeah. So I mean, that, that's the whole point of it though. So it's not about whether or not you're impressed with the win or not. Cause again, a lot of people like to delve into the negative and what the Bears aren't. How about what the Bears are this morning? They're a winner back to back wins and that's a good thing. Well said. That's what it comes out to. One, two in a row, got to three and two. Now get to London and find a way to go one and all this week. You're trying to get better behind a rookie quarterback. That's it. You'd rather win this game than lose it. It's common sense. Let's go. And even though mom used to say common sense isn't common, that is common sense. Three, one, two, three, two. Thank you. You just got a shot out from your guy. ESPN 3, 3, 2, 3, 7, 7, 6 is our telephone number on this Bears Victory Monday. The Bears defeat the Panthers refining out your thoughts. What impressed you most about the victory? Your call's next on Captain J. Hood. The Chicago Bears are trash. This is Rommel Dunezay. This is the Andre Swift. This is Colin Gordon. You're listening to Captain J. Hood on ESPN Chicago, the new home of the Chicago Bears. Five carries 25 yards for a swift here to snap and a play-paint to swift for the pocket. Caleb throwing open. D.J. Moore inside the 15th of the 10. Turns it up to the five, walking into the end zone. Touchdown Bears. Caleb Williams, 34 yards to D.J. Moore for the score. An extra point away from tying it up with 5/40 boarding up first quarter. Right here on the home of the Bears, ESPN 1,000. On the Captain J. Hood Morning Show, Jeff and Tom on the call catch every Bears game. Right here on ESPN 1,000. 3-1-2-3-3-2-3-7-7-6 is our phone number. The Bears are going to be in the UK cap. That's going to be great taking on Jacksonville. But we're not turning the page on what we saw on Sunday because we're in the afterglow of what we saw on Sunday. That's the way it's supposed to look cap. That's the way it's supposed to look. Competent offense, strong defense, domination at home. For years, there's a time cap where we're watching. The Bears are like, is Soldier Field, is that really the home base for the Bears? Because there was so much up and down. This feels like the Bears are in a good rhythm at home. With the fans are supporting you and they're playing well. It's good to see. There are many wins at home in a row. Pretty good. Eight now. Pretty good, kid. But again, my biggest takeaway, and you make very valid points, but my biggest takeaway is that man, woman, child, you're going to work. You're going to school. You're taking care of kids. You're doing whatever it is you're doing today. Walk out there with your chest puffed out, your head held high. We got a quarterback in Chicago. Never had one in my lifetime that looks like that. I'm glad you're giving that advice. I don't want Bears fans to walk up and down the street going to work in Bears, covering their Bears logo up with a jacket. It's like, "Hey, we just beat Carolina. It wasn't really great." What are you talking about? Your quarterback just, he's already got two, three hundred yard passing games. He's over a thousand yards for the season already. He's played five games as a pro. There's no embarrassment because you know why? That's a Bears record. Thank you, Jay Moore. Yes. And by the way, you shouldn't be embarrassed. You know why? Because that Panther outfit, that looked like the Bears for a good decade. That was normal for us. So, there is no embarrassment like, "Man, we just beat the Panthers." How's it going today, there, Billy? Oh, it's doing great, Nancy and I watched the game. We got a quarterback in our town. Yes. And you have momentum. That's the other thing. Momentum. That's what it comes down to. And this NFL puts some wins together. You just never know what's going to happen. I was going to the phone lines to talk to you 3-1-2-3-2-3-7-7-6. Our phone number on this Bears Victory Monday. Brooklyn, New York, listening on the ESPN Chicago App. Here's Derek on Cap and Jay Hood. Derek, good morning. Hey, good morning, fellas. Happy Victory Monday. What's going on, D? Hey, today's my birthday. So it makes it even that much better, baby. All right. I won't get on you then for texting me after one freaking possession. Ready to throw the towel in. I wasn't ready, though. I was just upset. I'm starting too early with the offensive line, man. But you said calm. I'm going to relax. What did I tell you? Relax. R-E-L-E-X. Relax. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. And I appreciate that you calmed me down. And then everything turned around and everything was looking good. We finally got a quarterback. Another 300 plus yard game. He's looking good. Yes, sir. There you go. Happy birthday. Appreciate it, man. Thank you guys. Love the show. Go Bears, Bear Down, baby. Let's go. Bear Down. It's the met fan who makes them all itchy. Dude, it was literally 1-3 and out. And I get a text from my friend Derek in Brooklyn. And here we go, Jen. I'm like R-E-L-A-X, Derek. Come on, man. What are we doing here? It's a long game. But I was watching the same thing. I was like, "Hey, man. It's got to get better." And it did get better. So much outstanding line play, offensive line play. Blocking for the running back 18 yard run for Swift. Nice run by Kilb Williams running for the first down. A lot of great things that happened in the game yesterday. Lewis is on the road on Cap and Jay Hood. Lewis, good morning. Good morning, guys. It's always great to call in after a win. I mean, I know you've said it. I've been saying it. Kilb Williams is getting better. I know I called him last Friday and said those overthrows were precise. It was always the same spot. It was always the same distance. It was correctable. And you know what? He corrected it. I think Shane Roalder. And he called a great game. He only got cute once on that fourth and one play to road -- I think that was a stupid call. You know what? I'll take the improvement over with just one bad play call. That really didn't have a huge effect on the game. Everyone's saying that this is only Carolina. It's not like they were held in this game the whole time. We didn't just beat them. We mauled them. That's what you're supposed to do against a team like that. This whole team is getting better. It's coming together. And you know what? The last thing I'm going to say about this is Eddie on the north side. I heard you on Black and Abdullah the other day. You know what? You were a genuinely -- or generally like pleasant person. You weren't super negative. If you weren't super negative all the time, I wouldn't have to say this. Screw off, Eddie. We just won. And I hope that these guys -- I hope that they're super negative. We just won. And I hope that these guys -- I hope that this finally gets sort of your pessimistic attitude. This team, not my rebuttal. Have a good day, guys. Have a great week. Great week. Boy, there's just a battle between the callers, man. Lewis and Eddie. This is a battle. Lewis is out for blood every single time. Had something. How about that? You know, that was good. Loved it. You know, it was interesting. There was four 18 left second quarter. Mm-hmm. Fourth and one at the 39. Bears go for it. Let's talk about it. And they don't get it. Let's talk about it. I'm like, okay, guys. Come on now. Fourth and one. What are we doing here? Gotta get that. The defense stops him cold. Like, that's what allows the head coach. I'm gonna ask him. What is that like standing there going -- all right, let's go for it. 39 yard line, otherwise you're looking at a 55 yard field goal. You miss. You give them good field position. Are we gonna punt from the 39? What a waste. Let's go for it. And don't get it. So, who do you trust in that spot to get that one yard? Rosha. Okay. He got stopped cold. Yeah. I don't know if that's a formation thing. He just didn't get there. I got a wall. When the 22 comes out, all 22 comes out tomorrow. Yeah. And I got to see who did not do the job with their block. Was it prior? Because he ran over the right side, right? Yes. Correct? Yeah. Okay. I don't know if it was prior. I don't know if somebody else shot the gap and maybe sheltered in him. I have to look. I don't know. That said, I want to ask Matt. What is it like standing over there? All right, you make the call and you don't get it. But you know, we're good. I've got this amazing defense right here. Oh, sure. We'll shut him down. Sure. And you did. The offense was in a nice rhythm. You get to, because in that, in that same drive, you got some really good tempo. Joe ever gets a nice catch. And I just thought it was a good rhythm. Fourth and one. And Rosha Johnson doesn't get there. And I was thinking, wow, I expected them to get that one yard and they did not. Now hats off to Carolina for getting that done. But now we think about DeAndre Swift versus Rosha Johnson in that situation. You prefer Johnson, you say? I do. I think he's your short, short yardage back. He's the guy you used at the goal line. Swift got one as well. Yeah. But Johnson's the guy that more physical presence when I have three tight ends. Lewis, Comette, and Everett. Can I tell you somebody who was pissed off? I mean, DeAndre Swift. So that first touchdown that Rosha Johnson gets, Swift does all the work. And it's like, all right, get out of there. Let's get Rosha. And he was hitting his helmet. He's like, wait a minute. I did all this work. What do you mean? And you can just see him in the helmet. He's like, he's like, wait, I can go in there for one more to get to touch that. No, Rosha, touch down. But the next time they got down there, I didn't want to go for it. Yeah. But yeah, because he didn't want to get a pissed off Swift. Correct. That's what happened there, Shay. You're watching it just like, I did all the work and now Rosha gets the easy one yarder. Hey, go on a second. Looking pretty good there, Shay. He's good when he's in space. I've always, if you can get him in space, like they did with that screen where he got about 50 yards on the screen pass, get some down. He ran the ball well too though. Yeah, of course. But he runs it well when he gets outside and he's able to have space to make somebody miss. That's where on the one yard line, if you're going between the tackles and running power, I'd rather see Rosha. Same. That was funny on that touchdown that Swift got. It felt like he got all the yardage on the screen and they're like, we got to let him cap this off. So here's three tries for DeAndre Swift from the goal line. You don't cut to him when he was headed to the sidelines. You can see the frustration because he was, he was heated. He was pissed. He's like, wait a minute. I did all this work and this guy comes in and gets my touchdown. Oh, when we go back around, I'm getting mine. I'm not coming out of the game. One, two, I'm in. So he's thinking in his mind, I should have two touchdowns. How does this kid get to? I'm just saying like that's a competitor, right? He's thinking to himself like, I should have that touchdown. I could do things on the goal line. Outstanding. And by the way, there was on that screenplay that I did pull up, found it on social somewhere. Watch the downfield blocking. Keenan Allen. There were some other dudes, I mean, let me tell you something. The offensive line got out there. But Comette and Keenan Allen, Downfield, Rome. Those dudes were blocking there. You know what? Braxton Jones had a much better day getting outside and blocking for Swift on the outside runs too. I thought. And he hated it because Braxton's been horrible. Jigga, Rago Felly, y'all. All good. There's Jay-Z in Denver, Colorado, listening on the ESPN Chicago app. Hello, Jay. Johnny! What's up, boys? How you doing this Bears Victory Monday? We're good, man. That was a good game to win. So to all the listeners out there, please get on the live stream and check out Cap in his fire blue laser. Let's get everybody on there to check out Cap on that blazer. You're the bus kid. Not a lot of people have the guts to wear this thing. Hold on to Bears Victory Monday. That's it. Yeah. So look, I'm not going to spend too much time on the game. You guys are covering all the good points I was going to talk about real quick. I'm looking at these next four games as paramount for the Bears. I know every game's important, especially the divisional games, but shot or no shot. Will these next four games dictate if the Bears make the playoffs or not? Next four games. So that's Jacksonville and it's a very tough buy team. I don't know if you've seen the buy. They're very good defensively. Yeah. It's spelled the buy is called Cabo Cancun. Yeah. Could be Miami. Could be very defeated. Yeah. It could be very difficult. Yes. Washington. Costa Rica, maybe. Arizona. And then the Patriots. No, that's a no shot. Not those four games. I think that when you get into the division play, that tells a great story. It does, but I. These four games, Jacksonville, Washington, Arizona, New England. Yeah, I don't. We're again. That's just me. You fan how you want to fan. I learned my lesson years ago. I don't worry about those others. I worry about Jacksonville in London this week. All I can control is get to one and O this week. Yes. And God willing, you win and you come out of it healthy. Then you get a buy and a bunch of guys are going to go on vacation, which they deserve. Go get some warm weather. Have a couple cocktails. Get a lot of sleep. Relax. Enjoy yourself. And then get back to work. Jigga. Rago. Feli, y'all. All right. Jay Z, we appreciate the telephone call. On a Bears victory Monday as the Bears defeat the Panthers. As held revealed by the score of 36 to 10. Payless Heights and Mike is with us on cap and J. Hood. Good morning. Hi guys. Hi, Katie. Hi, Cap. I just was listening to all the comments. Great show again this morning. Hey, you know, I think we can't forget about the Sean Friskart. Number one, who's playing like number one on defense. The hitting that he's doing going way back. You know, it was a lifelong bear fan watching like Plank and Fensick when they used to scare people to come in their zones. I think that's going to come in handy when we start playing some of these teams that do these crossovers in the middle. That's one comment. And then the other one I agree with hoodie with your comment about Swift, how he was upset. But you know, in a way, I think it's good because it pushes him to probably keep trying harder. Like, hey, I got to get my touchdown. And then this lastly, the only negative comment I had was just in the fourth quarter, I thought the Bears kind of got a little too conservative on some of the play calling. You know, kind of like just protecting, you know, the lead. They're going to win. And maybe we're just taking it easy a little bit. Yeah, I don't know if I'd call it great. I don't know if I'd call it taking it easy. They were just saying, we're not going to make any mistakes here. We got to feel good game. We're winning big. Just get to the locker room. Just ease into the driveway cap. Correct. You don't have to go 55 into the driveway. Just ease your way. Yeah, just right there. Jeez, you almost ran into the door. Dad. It's pulling into the garage. Just nicely. Just right there. Turn the switch off. That'll be all. That was the other game. They don't have to go in their full throttle at the end of the game. Correct. They ain't the game one. It was over. James and Gurney on Cap and Jay Hood as we talk about the Bears. Hello, James. Hey Bears, Bears Victory. Let's go. I just, I don't have to say either. Just looking in the future, looking at, I'm not a huge fan of 49, boys. They look 97, 99, 93. We're a little susceptible to the run when we go against the green bays. I'm a big fan of 57. I don't know. I just don't like the way he don't shed blocks, but I'm being picky. Are you taking a shot at Jim Sandborn? No, he's taking a shot at Tremaine Edna. He said 57. I'm not even taking a shot at Tremaine. Hold on. I just, I don't, if you watch him, I watch a lot of football. I'm the number, remember, I'm the number one ready to couch quarterback when they couch quarterback in the nation three years running. Okay. Just let you know that. But one thing no one's looking at is 60, right? You know, 76 went down. You, who came in? Bill Murray comes in. Like we call him Bill Murray, Richard Pryor. It just can be my buddy, you're joking around. 60 played pretty well. So that's going to tell us something about 64. Maybe they had enough. Is that just going to be a backup tag? How is he a backup guard? Or is he going to be something that we could potentially move? And I like to see getting number two involved early too. So big victory. 18 was awesome. Okay. It ran a lot better. And that was a good victory. I just think it's big. That's 64 sat down when 60 came in. Love you guys. Okay. Thank you. You call it. You call it here with a depth chart. Don't you come in here with number 60 and number. Yeah. Give me some names. Correct. Bill Murray. Okay. Promain that. Yes. Dear Bears fan, you should know the names. It's like when we first had buddy Ryan on as an expert on sports radio. Well, I like number two too. It's pretty good player. And I like the way five. You know, he's a good wide receiver. Buddy, you need the names. I don't know. I just know the numbers. Buddy, you need to know the names of the players. You got to be an expert. Crazy. It's like, what is it? James, don't be calling your given numbers. I'm looking for the, I'm pulling up the box score. I want to see how many tackles Tremaine Edmonds had. I like Tremaine Edmonds. Yes. It's six total. I like him. Edmonds. Yeah. He had six and four solo tackles. He was all over the field yesterday. There you go. So yeah. So he was, he was fantastic. We have got Shadow No Shot. That's in two minutes on cap and Jhood. Captain J. Hood. - Take that!
