Rodačka ze Slovenska Anna Smoroňová se před spoluprací s režisérem Tomášem Mašínem na filmu Němá tajemství věnovala natáčení videoklipů, reklam a krátkometrážních filmů. Když dostala možnost podílet se na filmu, pod jehož scénářem je podepsána Alice Nellis (rovněž nominována na Českého lva), neváhala. A to netušila, jak moc se psychologické drama o tom, jak jeden okamžik dokáže převrátit váš život naruby, bude podobat její realitě.
