[MUSIC PLAYING] This is AP News. I'm Rita Falle. There was talk of war and pleas for peace. And at the Oscars last night, a film about the atomic bomb won Best Picture. Oppenheimer won Best Picture at the Oscars. We're in a race against the Nazis. Oppenheimer, director Christopher Nolan, says one of the most memorable moments in making the film was when Killian Murphy put on the hat, because that's when he knew the movie was going to work. Murphy won Best Actor, and Robert Downey Jr. won Supporting Actor for their roles in that movie. Nolan won Best Director. Emma Stone won Best Actress for Poor Things with a tear in the back of her dress, but she says, that did not last. They sewed me back in. Oh, my God. Right when I came back, they sewed me back in, which was wonderful. Dave Vinejoy Randolph won Supporting Actress for The Holdovers. I'm Archie Zaraletta. No end in sight to the war between Israel and Hamas. Palestinians have begun fasting for Ramadan. The Muslim holy month arrives with ceasefire talks at a standstill hunger worsening across the Gaza Strip, and no end in sight to the five-month-old Israel Hamas War. Prayers were held late Sunday outside, amid the rubble of demolished buildings, and some people hung fairy lights and decorations in packed tent camps, where there was little to celebrate after five months of war. I'm Charles Tillidesma. An American man in Germany's been convicted of murder and other charges for attacking two American women in Germany last summer and pushing them into a ravine, killing one of them, say, authorities. He was sentenced to life in prison. Authorities are not naming him in line with German privacy laws. Here at home, President Biden and Donald Trump are on track to win enough delegates this week to become their party's presumptive nominees in the presidential contest. Disney's asking for approval to expand its Anaheim theme park offerings over the next four decades. There'd be new attractions on unused spaces. This is AP News. What now? Workers who want to form unions are wondering. The National Labor Relations Board is considering its next step after a judge on Friday blocked a new rule that would have made it easier for millions of workers to form unions at big companies. The rule was to have taken effect today. Under the current rule, a big company isn't considered a joint employee if most of its employees are working for a franchisee. The new rule that was put on hold said companies could be considered joint employees if they have the ability to control either directly or indirectly at least one condition of employment, such as wages, benefits, hours, or scheduling. The US Chamber of Commerce and other business groups sued the NLRB in federal court, arguing that the new rule would make companies liable for workers they don't employ. At workplaces, they don't own. I'm Donna Warder. And I'm Rita Foley, AP News. Hey there, did you know King Supers always gives you savings and rewards on top of our lower than low prices?
