A Vermont man who knew actor Treet Williams has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of negligent driving that resulted in Williams' death in June. Ryan Koss was given a one-year deferred sentence and will lose his driver's license for a year. His SUV hit Williams' motorcycle. Actor Sterling K Brown of American Fiction sees the Oscars as a win for comedies being taken seriously. He says people laughed at movies like American Fiction and Barbie, even as they had a deeper story. Hopefully, there's an opportunity for the Academy to recognize we're not just going after bits, but we're looking to make people think with the bomb of laughter.
