(upbeat music) - That's right, Jay Moore, it's just me and you. - Oh! - We got that, huh? - The Royal U, of course, on the other side of the glass, because cap's gone again. So we welcome you in. - Should I just leave his empty chair up on Twitch? I could solo camera it on you, but I think it's better if we just leave his empty chair. - I just think right there. - Maybe I'll print a photo of Laura Ricketts, put it on the back of the chair. - That's just fine with me. We welcome you in to the, well maybe, on the cap and Jay Hood Morning Show, our ESPN 1000 and streaming on the ESPN Chicago app. With cap, I'm Jay Hood, 3-1-2-3-3-2, ESPN, 3-3-2-3-7-7, six is our phone number. I'd remind you to check us out on YouTube as well, youtube.com, look for the ESPN Chicago channel on YouTube, as well as on Twitch, twitch.tv/ESP and 1000 Chicago. We can always use more followers, so make sure that you subscribe, that way you miss nothing from ESPN Chicago. Glad you're in with us here on this Tuesday morning. Still to come on the show, we will have Snore Palm, and that's a weekly segment we have every Tuesday at 9.35, where Shane Norlin gives his top 10 or more in college football, and he's having a hell of a time, 'cause college football was crazy last weekend, so Shane will have Snore Palm coming your way at 9.35. Also, we're gonna try to get this show into the Guinness Book of World Records, the Guinness Book of World Records, because there's somebody that did something that was unbelievable. We'll get to that this hour as well right here on Cap and Jay Hood. I wanna talk to you a little bit about the Bears. I see you on hold, we're gonna get to your phone calls in a moment. I just wanna talk to you a little bit about the Bears, but only in this regard, about Caleb Williams and the rest of this young quarterback corps that we see around the NFL. We'll love us, the quarterback for Tennessee is 25, Jordan Love is 25. Trevor Lawrence, who we're going to see on Sunday, as the Bears take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, is 24 years of age. Brock Purdy's 24, Bo Nix is 24. Bryce Young from Carolina, who we saw for a cup of coffee in the fourth quarter of the game for the Bears in Carolina. Bryce Young's 23, so is Jane Daniels. C.J. Strauss, 22, as well as Caleb Williams and Anthony Richardson. So, when Caleb entered the league, and I tell you the story about how, you know, Stroud Williams and Richardson are all the same age, because when Caleb Williams, when he entered the league, there was a lot of preconceived notions at Caleb, like a lot of rookie quarterbacks would absolutely fail. We'll take a look at the quarterbacks who are drafted number one, and look at the success rate. It's not great. The failure that we see with number one picks that our quarterbacks occurs, when you have organizations that are not prepared to support a great college football player. A player that puts up eye-popping numbers, a player that should be ready with seasoning and NFL experience, should be ready to help the rebuilding of a failing franchise. We know the names of Jamarkis Russell, and Brady Quinn, and Joey Harrington, and Kyle Bowler, and Matt Linert, and David Carr. The Bears for years did not have the correct infrastructure or difference-making players to be a perennial playoff team, let alone have a franchise quarterback that we can all believe in. I want you to think about this, Bears fans. All the quarterbacks that the Bears have had since 2000, just to name a few, Rex Grossman, and Cade McNown, and Jake Cutler, and Justin Fields, and Mitch Trabisky, and it goes on and on and on. Outside of Rex leading the last Super Bowl team that we saw in Chicago, the Bears didn't have the offensive weapons, nor built through the draft well enough to be able to construct a sustainable football operation. That's the whole thing. As much as it was great to see the Bears in the Super Bowl, you just knew that in that Lovey Smith era, it was good, but you never thought they could get back up there again, because it was not a sustainable football operation. For all Bears fans like me, I got a message for you. I think it's time to break the cycle. It's time to break the cycle of bad draft picks. It's time to break the cycle of quarterbacks that aren't supported like Justin and Trabisky, and et cetera, by management. It's time that the cycle of poor choices by coaches that cost the Bears games and draft positions, it's tired, I'm tired of seeing the cycle of taking you and I for granted, when it comes to our emotional and financial investment in the team. The positive about this year's Bears team is what Ryan Polls has done. Because as I mentioned before, even under Lovey Smith, it was not sustainable because there was some ups and downs under Lovey Smith. Yes, we did see the Bears in the Super Bowl fall short against the Colts, but the point is though is that at times, they went to the playoffs and times they did not, but it was so up and down. Ultimately, I know what I want as a fan. I think that you might want the same thing, and that is to see your team in the playoffs every year with a chance to win the championship. But as I mentioned, there's a positive about this year's team and what Ryan Polls has done. The Bears are building towards sustained success. If you've just turned on Bears football, if you just tuned in to Bears football this year, you would think, man, this operation looks pretty good. The operation is usually pick up a high price free agent or two, and the rest would be status quo. But that's how it's always has been. But I think that the cycle is changing with this Bears team because of what Ryan Polls has done. I want you to think about the defense and the offense and the special teams. With the defense, we talked about it in our number one, how defensively this team is pretty solid. You take a look at the secondary and how opportunity is the secondary. The same thing with the defensive line. Pretty strong defensive line where we were wondering who could emerge on this defensive line. And what has happened is that you're starting to see the quarterbacks feel a little bit shaky on their center when the Bears' defense is out there. It's not even about Montez, sweat is about some of these other players that's really come to the forefront like Billings and others that have really done a good job with this Bears' defense. But here's the thing, the Bears with all of the weapons and all the talent that they've stockpiled, they have to find a way to win. And I don't mean just win just on a given Sunday. I'm talking about how to find a way to win this season and getting to the postseason. I think it's great that the Bears have been able to put together a lot of talent on the defensive side and looking at the linebackers and looking at that, you know, the secondary, it's great. And the wide receiver room is so much talent in that wide receiver room. I like what they have at the running back position. But ultimately, it's breaking news. Brought to you by the advantage dealer group. Breaking news on ESPN Chicago. The Bears have to find a way to win. We turn now to Shay Norling with breaking news here on Captain Jay Lachey. Breaking news brought to you by the Vanja dealer group home of the 60 minute guarantee. The New York Jets have fired head coach Robert Salah. Okay, all right. If you had Robert Salah first coach fired ticket, congratulations, you just cashed a lot of money. I did not expect that this morning. Holy cow. I mean, okay, so this is early October and they pulled a plug. He could even make the rest of the season. We just talked about Salah. I believe a couple of days ago, we were talking about how Robert Salah and his defensive solid. But the offense and Aaron Rodgers, there was a disconnect. And we've always thought that there was a problem between Aaron Rodgers and Robert Salah. We talked about this in the preseason, Shay, if you recall. Aaron Rodgers didn't know if he's going to play in the preseason. And they said, have you talked to the head coach? And he said, no, he has not told me. There was always a problem as far as their communication. And as a head coach, I don't care if you're defensive minded, offensive minded specialty. If you don't have communication with your quarterback, it's not going to work. Here's what the jets have done. The jets have chosen, Shay Norling, a quarterback that could walk after the season over Robert Salah. Robert Salah looks, if you're going to build a head coach, he would look like Robert Salah. He runs the stairs in the stadium. I mean, a defensive minded. He's not the best soundbite, but the point is, though, is that there was always this feeling of, boy, when he opens his mouth, it's clueless. Yeah, that was the whole thing with him. And so what the jets have done, they pushed all their chips in the middle of the table. And they've said, oh, OK, we're going to go in Aaron Rodgers. So do they have an interim in place? Have they mentioned that yet in the in the in the wires? Nothing from any of the insiders. Everybody tweeting right now. There will be from Schefter jets informed Robert Salah of their decision minutes ago. There will be a new head coach for Monday night's game versus Buffalo. Please, God, can we have interim head coach Nathaniel Hackett? The people need it. I think that's where they're headed because that's an Aaron Rodgers guy. Hackett, who I knew was going to be a disaster as a head coach with the Denver Broncos, could be the interim. I could see that happening because of his quote unquote head coaching experience. But that's something that's a blockbuster because, again, we're not even at the deadline yet. And the jet said, yeah, this is not going to get any better. We're firing Robert Salah. It was going to happen at the end of the season. I just didn't expect it to happen now. That's something hoodie. That's unbelievable. It's October 8th. We're in week six. They just launched Robert Salah out of a cannon. For a guy in Aaron Rodgers, and that's this is all Rodgers to me. It's it's it's offensive performance. It's not where they want it to be. But you could just tell it's Aaron Rodgers in his influence with Woody Johnson, the owner. But Rodgers is not there for the long haul. This is far with the jets. He's also not playing well. Yes. Well, you can't fire the quarterback. OK, I wouldn't have done that. Like to me, you could just tell there's a problem in the room. And so it's happened. Robert Salah fired. That's heartbreaking news. Cap AFC champion. I'm looking at his prediction sheet. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. AFC champion jets to the Super Bowl. Cap, you can light that ticket on fire. Holy cow. We told him that last week that liked that ticket on fire. I said, I thought this would be a disaster. I never imagined they would fire their head coach in week six. They think they can salvage the season. They think Rodgers thinks that he could be able to do this. Like, OK, I can get us there, but I need Salah out of the room. OK, I just thought Aaron Rodgers is someone that could just be the head coach of the offense without Salah sticking his beak in there. Not the case. It's amazing. Albert Brere, who we just spoke to. Salah came into work this morning as usual and was informed by Jets owner Woody Johnson of the decision. Scan to the car to open the door. Hey, what's up, Woody? Good to see you. Robert. Come here. Wow. Once you're a jet, you're a jet. OK. There it is, folks. One day that could happen to Mattie Reflus. Who knows? 312-332-ESPN-332-3776, our photo. So back to the Bears, as I was saying, that you take a look at the positive about this year's team with Ryan Polls. And they haven't done anything yet. They are trying to build towards sustained success. If, in a big if, if you've just tuned in to Bears football, the operation is usually just getting just someone off the scrap heap, just some free agent, and then just be status quo. But look at what they're trying to build toward. I know that it's not playoff ready for some right now, but the whole point is, though, to me, I think this is a playoff team. I think they find their way into the playoffs. I really believe that because for you and I as Bears fans, enough is enough. Enough's enough. The whole thing is like three wins when you tank, seven wins when you tank, and so now it's time to get to the postseason. I'm done with the underachievement for this Chicago Bears team. I don't know about you, but am I crazy? The process is a lot different to help the Bears win than we've seen in a long time. Maybe since the Lovey Smith era. So let me get your calls in 3-1-2-3-3-2-ES-P-N-3-3-2-3-7-7-6-R-4. As I mentioned, the cycle of bad draft picks, the cycle of poor choices with the coaches, the cycle of taking you and I for grand as Bears fans, I'm done with that. You know, you have an organization that didn't support Justin enough. That's why Fields is a stealer right now. Didn't support Trubisky enough. And I say that these are great quarterbacks, but imagine if you went all in with offensive line help and weapons. Now you're looking at a different franchise. Maybe Justin is still here, but you got turned to Paige. One can't grieve forever, so I totally understand that. But just to me, I'm done with the cycle of suck. I'm done with the same old, same old with the Chicago Bears. I am ready for the Chicago Bears team to be able to measure up, to level up with the other teams in the NFC and be a perennial playoff team. That's what I'm looking forward to. That's what I want to see because just mired in just below average football, non playoff football, waiting for another draft, waiting for another free agent cycle, and never get up there. Tired of it. Tired of it. So that's what we're talking about here. And still to come, we will have snore palm as Shay previously tries to put together a top 10. He's doing it with tongue depressors and Albert's glue. Makes no sense. So he'll try to foot that together for a 935 segment. But if you aren't hold, you will be on the air. We're talking bears with you. Captain Jay Hood on ESPN 1000 and also on our YouTube channel. Gary come in here. Follow Chicago's home for sports on Twitch at ESPN 1000 Chicago. Captain Jay Hood are back on Chicago's home for sports. ESPN Chicago. It's a Captain Jay Hood morning show on ESPN 1000 and streaming on the ESPN Chicago app. With you till 10 o'clock, then Mike Greenberg comes in at 10. That should be an interesting greenie today. Especially with the firing of Robert Sola, the head coach for the Jets that just came across. Carmen Yurco at 12, Waddle and Sylvia 230, Abdullah and Aki from 638 right here. On your home for the White Sox and the Bears, ESPN 1000. 312-332-3776 our phone number. I should remind people, Jay Moore, because you produced it. The Mr. McMahon documentary that's on Netflix. We did a two part special on the Mr. McMahon documentary. It's on the Captain Jay Hood feed. Just go to the Captain Jay Hood, look for it. I was able to review that with CJ Taylor. So if you've seen that or you are interested in that documentary, you did a two part feature on that documentary. It's wild. He's a wild boy. Oh, doctor, there's a lot going on there. But if you're just joining us, we're talking about the Bears. And just like, I'm just taking a look at the young quarterback core that's in the NFL. And for years, whether it's fair or unfair, we will judge Kenneth Williams to CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson, because they're all 22. Jane Daniels is 23. Bryce Young is 23 as well. So it's just this young core of quarterbacks. There are 10 quarterbacks. There are 25 or younger. And I just I listed to him earlier to my love and love and Lawrence and Purdy and Bonex. And so this group here, there's 22. Stroud Williams and Richardson. I have circles here on my sheet. We're going to find out if Caleb Williams will be the guy out of this quarterback class, out of these young quarterbacks that will emerge. And I believe that it is very possible because the difference between Caleb Williams and Justin Fields, as far as the regimes are concerned, is that Caleb has a lot around him. Not guaranteeing the Super Bowl, not guaranteeing anything. What I'm saying is, is that think about the other quarterbacks that I mentioned earlier. Think about the quarterbacks that the Bears have had. And whether or not they had the right infrastructure, had the right players around them. The Grossmans, the Kay McNounds, the Jay Cutler, the Justin Fields, the Trubiskis, it's an embarrassment of riches. Now they just have to win. That's the bottom line. So 3-1-2-3-3-2-3-7-7-6-0-4 number. Let's go to the phone lines and talk to you. You heard my thoughts. I think that enough of the cycle of nonsense with this Bears organization, now is the time. And if it's not, you know the Bears are going to have hell to pay because you and I are going to be going after them. Because ultimately, we're thinking, well, if not now, win. Now to pop up championship, as Sylvie would say. No, Thoma sustained success in the NFC North. Curtis is in Farmington, Minnesota, listening on the ESPN Chicago app. Hey, Curtis, good morning. Good morning. I'm sorry, Captain's not there. Jay Moore, Shay, and Hoodie. Bop, bop, bop, bop, I love LA. See, Cap's there. So good to talk to you guys. I fully, fully agree with you, Hoodie, on your off, on your take on the Bears. I do want sustained success. I fully agree to your other question earlier. The Bears are a playoff team that they can win three out of the next four games and split with their divisional rivals. Hopefully, if they win more, that'd be great. So that will be 10 wins or more. And on top of that, would you say earlier with the monthly, the lunch program, I was really blown away by what you said, that they had the McDonald's and Subway in the schools. Alma '80s and '90s kid in high-end school. And that was mind-blowing to me. Chicken nuggets and pizza. That was the highlight on Friday for us. So we had to go fighting the line to get in there to get the, sometimes they give us both chicken nuggets and the pizza. And you know, the lunch lady will say, "Do you want chicken nuggets or the pizza?" I'll take both. Can't forget the chocolate milk. Right. And the little carton, the little chocolate milk there as well. Because there's something like, there's something like chicken nuggets, pizza, and chocolate milk just to wash it down. One thousand percent. When you're a kid, you have a cast iron stomach. So anything works. That's a good call, Curtis. We appreciate your telephone call. Curtis leaves line open three, one, two, three, two, three, seven, seven, six. Yeah, that refers to our conversation in the seven o'clock hour. You can go back to the archives of our first hour. Somehow we just fell into that conversation about the difference in school lunches in the 80s, 90s, and where we are today. It's insane. You're getting like top level lunches versus mom making a PB&J smashed into a bag because it was thrown into your book bag. And so it used to have a, you know, hat form, the bread hat form. Yeah. My baloney has the first name. We always knew that. Yes. It was Oscar, I believe. Last name, Meyer. And now you could find him on FS1 on big noon kickoff. Back to the phone lines. We go three, one, two, three, three, two, three, seven, seven, six is our phone number. Crystal Lake, here's Jim. On cap and jhood as we talk bears. Hey, Jim, good morning. Hey, hoodie morning. So I hate to burst your guys' bubbles, but I'm not a believer at this point in time. I believe the bears have just beaten some like three bad football teams, and they beat them at home. Now for them to prove to me that they're a playoff team to answer your question, to me, they got to beat a good team on the road. And so they got five opportunities for that in my book. They got all their divisional games on the road, and they play at San Francisco, and they play at Washington. And that if they get to be one of those teams on the road, they've proven to me that they're a legit playoff team. Well, I'm not going to go against you on that because it's always a prove it week, right? Week after week, you have to prove that you are worthy of being in the postseason. It doesn't matter what time we're talking about. However, I'm not going to take anything away from those victories because, Jim, you watched the NFL. Anything could happen. You slip on a banana pill all of a sudden that you're losing. Like at least you know what level the Bears are at at this point in time. Imagine they lose that game against Carolina. Beat somebody good is all I'm saying. Beat somebody beat somebody good. All I could tell you is is that you win all the games on your schedule. I don't look at the NFL like I look at college football and say you got to beat somebody. That's a college football conversation I have every Saturday. When it comes to the NFL, and we saw this schedule when it came out, there were all winnable games right there early before you get into the division games. It's not about whether or not I'm impressed or you're impressed. It's about the Bears continuing to put on wins. Remember what the offense looked like against the Colts. Now look at the offense against the Rams and the Carolina Panthers. You're just getting better week after week, Jim. And so here's the thing. You will also move the goal post and rightfully so if they are to beat the commanders, if they are winning games in the world because you'll say, okay, what's next? And that's only fair as a fan. Totally understand it, but from my standpoint, imagine if they would have lost against the Rams or Carolina. I'm just glad that the team's improving on the offensive side of the football. Because to me, this builds your way into those tougher games. And hopefully the Bears can be able to win those. Because Carolina is not a good football team, and the Bears just demolished them on the offensive side of the football. That's good. That's good to know. Now let's see how it looks moving forward. Jim, I'm glad you checked in. Appreciate your phone call. Not going to kill you for it because it's your opinion. You found out you want a fan, but I like the idea that they've been able to get some victories. That's good. How about the Jets, Lee Allen? How about the Jets firing Robert Salah? He joins us here on Cap and Jay Hood. Lee, good morning. Good morning, sir. Good morning. It is a great morning. Yes, sir, brother. Every day is a good day, isn't it? It's a great morning. I'm telling you, man, look at it this way, hoodie. We're going to be playing with good weather throughout November and December at home. It's going to be very nice. The weather is changing. The weather is changing. We got a good team. And that's really what I think is contributed to the failures of the team. But what I wanted to bring up also, I'm going to bring that up. This is not a climate change call, is it? I don't want to go there, but we could have that discussion. Let me go here. Let's not. We could go there, but I don't want to have that discussion. Check this out. You remember I called a couple of weeks ago and I told CAP, I said CAP. The Jets are what's going to really help this franchise. You remember why I said that? Because I said that they were going to likely not have success. And the reason I said that was, well, this is a very specific reason. They're going to probably have to fire Joe Douglas. Wouldn't you say that's going to follow him? I think that's fair. Yeah. So guess who their number one candidate at GM is more than likely to be. We think it's more likely to be. If we're successful, we're going to be successful with an ambiance. Ian Cunningham could very likely be the next GM on the Jets, if Caleb is very successful. He's poised. So imagine the Jets taking in. We get a third round pick. So that's correct. Yeah. We're loaded, baby. We're loaded. The defense of Ian Booker, you could start Austin Booker right now. And he gives you 10 sacks. We're, this thing is ready to go. Chicago is going to be in a Super Bowl either. And I'm going to be honest with you. We could be in a Super Bowl this year. The NFC is not strong. The NFC is not strong. The bears could be in a Super Bowl this year. Caleb is like determinator. Every day in Caleb is played. You've seen four years of development in every game he's played. So we've already seen the season in Caleb Williams. I could be in the Super Bowl too, but I got to be able to buy a ticket to get there. I don't, I don't know if the bears are ready for the Super Bowl yet, but I will say that the windows got to start opening, especially if you know if the offense is good. That's the only thing that you need to know. We talked about this earlier as far as the playoffs, not the Super Bowl. I said that the bears have a playoff worthy defense. I said the bears have a playoff worthy wide receiver room, a playoff worthy tight end room, a playoff worthy locker room as far as them harmonious. And we got a number of veterans and young players. It's a good blend. It's a good mix in there. But the biggest question, Lee Allen, is do the bears have a playoff worthy quarterback or playoff worthy head coach? Now think in terms of the Super Bowl. Same thing. Do they have a head coach that's ready for the Super Bowl? They might have mistakes we've seen from Iberfluze already in year three. Same thing with the quarterback, unproven at this point in time, learning, but unproven. You click your heels and you close your eyes and you hope that is the case that the bears have that. It's not this year though. And the reason why that I always pause on those type of comments, those kind of lofty feelings about the Chicago Bears. The reason why I do is because it takes time to be able to build something that Super Bowl ready. You can be excited about the team. But I never look at the Bears and say, yep, this is the time. You know why? Because you have to be able to build a playoff resume to be able to get there. And I think that that's where the Bears have to get there. Before we talk about Super Bowl, they need to build a playoff resume and be able to have players that have worked together for a while. A year, two, three years to be able to get to that point. So that's why I don't go over the top. Because also, when someone says, and I lose this on FS1, who was it, Shay, on the first things first show? Nick Wright. Nick Wright had the Bears going to the Super Bowl. That's a great take. But when they don't, you know what happens? Let me tell you the sports radio trick. Let me tell you it was behind the curtain. What happens is that if the Bears don't make the playoffs, or if they don't make the Super Bowl, then they're crap. Oh, Matt, Evil Fluz needs to be fired and they need to reevaluate the quarterback position. See how that works? Super Bowl, they're the craps. Can't do that. Not I'm not going to do that. I will look at the team and say they should be ready for the playoffs and you build from there. That's only fair. Coming up, we have Snore Palm. And also, we're going to get into the Guinness Book of World Records. This show, we're going to find a way in it because Shay's going to lead us. That's going to be coming up next. Cap and Jay Hood on Chicago's Home for Sports. Follow Chicago's Home for Sports on Twitter at ESPN1000. Cap and Jay Hood are back on ESPN Chicago, Chicago's Home for Sports. You are looking live at State and Lake here in Chicago. It's the Cap and Jay Hood Morning Show on ESPN1000 and streaming on the ESPN Chicago app. At this time, every Tuesday, we look into the college football rankings, ladies and gentlemen, it's Snore Palm. And here's your host, Shayne Arling, Shay. Hoodie, it's like a throwback edition of Chicago's College Tailgate. You and me? Chicago's College Tailgate. This Saturday, 8 to 10 a.m. Myself and Tyler Ocky. Also available wherever you get your podcasts, the Chicago's College Tailgate feed. Time for Snore Palm. And Hoodie, we're doing it differently this week. Usually, I go 12 to 1. Yes. This week was Otter Chaos. USC lost to Minnesota, Michigan lost to Washington, Alabama lost to Vanderbilt, Tennessee lost to Arkansas. I don't know what to do. So I just want to pull the curtain back and let people know how much this man was sweating. I'm trying to figure out how to put this together because of the, and by the way, it's a beautiful chaos though. Would you agree? Oh, yeah. Beautiful chaos in college football. Not good for you and I and all the other college football gamblers because here's the thing. We love parody. We love fun. But when your money's on the line, kind of sucks. I had Washington to beat Michigan, so I'm doing okay. I survived. You have Vanderbilt? I wanted to. I couldn't bet Bama, but I was like, well, how could I possibly bet Vanderbilt? Then they go win. Anyway, so today instead of 12 to 1, I'm going to go 1 to 12 and I give you a veto. If you think I'm out of line, teams rank too high, feel free to move them in the snore palm rankings because I don't know what they have to do. I've got veto power on big brother. This is utter chaos. What I think is not is number one, Texas. They benefit from the bi-week. They return to the top of the rankings, reclaim their throne. Red River this weekend at 2.30. Brother, Texas, Oklahoma is going to be fun. Texas deserves to be the number one team. Yours, questionable? I think he's going to play the game. Have you seen that too? Questionable injury, but I think he's got to play. I think they'll play too. They need him now. Okay, the quarterback, yours. Keep your eyes on him, folks. Number two. Number two is Ohio State benefiting from the bi and moving up. I have one spot. Ohio State beat the brakes off Iowa over the weekend, proving they can handle a top defense. Their biggest test comes on Saturday night in Eugene, Oregon. Where they will face number three, Oregon. They're back. Oregon is undefeated at 5 and 0 against Ohio State at 6.30 starting in Eugene. That should be a fun game again. Because of the craziness of college football, matchups like this, you wouldn't see until bowl games or in the college football playoff, we get it for the regular season in early October. That's going to be special. Can Ohio State get the job done on the road against Oregon? That's going to be fun. Oregon doubled up Michigan State and yardage, ran the ball all over a defense that didn't let anybody run the ball to this point in the season. Oregon's back. They move up three spots to three just in front of your number four Georgia Bulldogs. Beat Auburn, but not convincingly enough to move up to three. Okay, that's unfair. I mean, we did a good job there against Auburn. That's a great bounce back victory after beating Alabama. Come on now. Beating Alabama. Loose. Loose. Well, you lost to a team that lost to Vanderbilt. Sit at four. Now that doesn't, that narrative does not work for me. Right there at four. No, no. You know what? I lost to a team that lost to nerds in Tennessee. Wow, that's not fair. But you know what? Nice bounce back victory for Georgia. This is who they are, 31-13. That's a sweet spot, Shay. That's a sweet spot. That's who they are. It's fine. Run the football. Don't turn it over so much. Play good defense. Georgia at four is fair. So I have no problem with the four so far. Five Penn State. Blue out UCLA at home. They are clearly the third best team in the big 10 by a rather significant margin. And of course, we know where UCLA is. We know where UCLA is, Jay Moore. Yeah, they're in Los Angeles. Penn State also benefits from playing no one in the big 10. They won't play Michigan. They won't play Iowa. They'll play USC who apparently stinks. Lost to Minnesota. Megan Ohio State at home. Penn State against USC. How's that travel? I mean, USC has not played a good football, but can Penn State at 2.30 on Saturday get the job done? So we're good with the first five. What about six? Six is Clemson. This is where it's controversial. All right. Hoodie, I'm telling you right now on a neutral field Clemson's favorite over Miami. They are dropping bombs on people. Well, Miami survives Virginia Tech in Cal. If it's on a neutral field today, Clemson's the favorite. I have them ranked one spot ahead of Miami. So Clemson then Miami at seven. Okay, so quirky game Miami winning at Cal. Strange, by the way, for college game day to be at Cal. What are the best game days in a very long time? It was surprising. I didn't expect that kind of crowd at that time of the morning at Cal. Great to see that the fans and the kids were out there for Cal. Miami having to come. What was it? Shae down 17 18. They won by one point late. So yeah, so that was a hell of a comeback. Probably one of the best comebacks for Miami in quite some time. So Clemson did Miami. I can't wait to see that match up to see who actually wins that one. That's the C title. Yeah, it's going to be fun. So eight. Eight is where I landed on the Alabama Crimson Tide. I couldn't in earnest drop them out of the top 12. I can tell you they are in danger of falling out of the top 12. You cannot lose to Vanderbilt. You know what? You can't do it. It's not just you feel that way and I feel that way. Legend the caller on the Paul Fine Bomb show. He feels the same way. You just can't lose the Vandy. And get this right. All right and die with the Crimson Tide. I don't care to go back get my cheerleader coach. I will be with Alabama every friggin game. But that don't mean I can't be pissed at what I've seen Saturday on the field. Alabama don't lose the Vandy. We don't lose the Vandy. That is friggin pathetic coach to bore 40 years dude. 40 years. Bill Curry didn't lose the Vandy. Like the Bose didn't lose the Vandy. Like soon I didn't lose the Vandy. 40 years. You've been here four weeks and you already lost the Vandy. Legend. Hoodie I'm telling you. Kaelyn DeBore. I hope he has security detail on campus this week in Tuscaloosa. He needs it. It's different down there. I tried to my partner and Cap doesn't listen. It just means more in the south. It just means more. Did you hear legend? Did you hear him right there the patch? He is. Yes. Lost the Vanderbilt. I'm scrambling to the SEC network. Like I'm seeing at the scores close and the first half like what is going on here? They have Dallas saying what's going on with my team? And I turn it on for the second half. I'm like wow wow amazing. So legends pissed. So eight I think that's fair. I take Bama at eight nine. Returning to the rankings at nine. Ole Miss answered the loss to Kentucky with a blowout road win over South Carolina. Good on you Lane Kiffin. The Lane train is back on the rails. Now they play LSU on Saturday night. Ole Miss at Tiger Stadium. Many people rooting for the media and the Lane Kiffin versus Brian Kelly match up. No victims left between those two coaches. Lane when the press asks you a question don't watch the Alabama game. You saw that right? He's on social checks and darts got it on a phone on top of the locker. Wait what is going on here? I got come on man. He's he's asked questions about his when he's like how many timeouts has Bama had? Uh the guys ask you a question. That's a big moment. Oh good for Lane. Uh number 10 Shay. Tennessee. Tennessee falls from five to ten after a loss against Arkansas. The offense looked lackluster at Oklahoma. Then you lose outright to Whoopig Sui. We're in trouble. Tennessee's in the danger zone. Okay I'm going to throw a flag on that on Tennessee. We talk about you can't lose the Vanderbilt. I know that's egregious after 40 years. But the way what happened to that young quarterback? What the hell happened? I was watching that game. I'm like they had nothing going offensively. Yeah. Arkansas and they're just scrappy. They're never going to be great. It's fine. But the way that they laid down. And by the way the reason why they should be out of the top 12 in store bomb. Here's why. You saw that last play by the quarterback right? Fourth down you run out of bounds. You don't throw you don't take a shot in the end zone. All right how do you not take a shot in the end zone? So I'll give you my 13th team that just missed. And you can tell me if you would like them to replace Tennessee. Iowa State welcome to the party. Undefeated Iowa State in the big 12. I would think that that's at least 12. Tennessee can't be in that 10. All right there's the veto. Iowa State replaces Tennessee. Welcome to the party cyclones. And people say well it's just one law so that that's unfair. It's the way that they lost to Arkansas. What happened to that young quarterback? How do you run out of bounds? That's your last play of the game. Did you not think did you not flip out when you saw that? Yeah I would. Remind me a Mitch. What number 11? Notre Dame they dropped one spot after the bi-week. They were 10 last week 11 this week. Week schedule if they lose again they're dead. But I they'll probably went out. So we'll see. Number 12 though army and navy look scary. They do. Number 12 is Boise State. Aston Genti continues to be dominant. He is hoodie. The best college running backs since Adrian Peterson at least. He might be the best college running backs since Barry Sanders. He's unbelievable. Boise State at number 12. All right I got you. That is Snore Palm. Can you imagine our moms back in the day and having Danny Zetterman as your kid? I would be tough. Yes I would like three hard boiled eggs. I want no carbs anywhere in there. You can only use Calima sea salt. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. You'll eat this baloney sandwich and get nothing. The bacon on my egg sandwich was an organic. Right. The miracle whip is not good for you. This is all we got. What are we drinking here? Yeah that's a Coke. Take it. No I would like electrolyte water. What? Oh my god. Could you imagine? That would be Zetterman. That kid just wouldn't eat. So Shay, J more we got to get into the Guinness world records. A Super Mario 64 speed runner said a Guinness world record for finishing the game in 19 minutes and 36 seconds while blindfolded. I read this last night I go how does that happen? How do you do that Shay? How do you do that blindfolded? So I'm thinking there's a way for you to be able to win not only score but win at Confordball 25 blindfolded. I think it's impossible. How? I'd have to be able to see the opposing defense. What if I call the plays for you in your headset? Could you win? No I can't I don't know what the other defense is doing. I'm telling you they're playing man. Would that help you? Then you're wrong. I don't think it's possible. Like Mario 64 you can memorize what it it's pretty simple. Run straight then left. You can memorize everything you have to do. Yes. Is there is there a video game J more that you can play blindfolded and succeed like you would pack man you run into the ghosts? No that's tough. Blindfolded. Yeah that's tough. He had to memorize all the moves. That's crazy. And he's got a plaque. I saw that the piece has got a plaque. That's I don't know what video game you could play and then succeed in that. I just don't know. No like any video game you could play blindfolded except for Super Mario. Where you can kind of just memorize what every level is and know what you have to do. But even then I mean you you guys thought I had no life for taking time off to play college football 25. This guy's got no life. That wasn't me that was Peggy. Memorizing Super Mario. Thank you Shay. Thank you Jay Moore. It's a waddle Wednesday. We'll talk to you tomorrow. So long everybody. Take that from Chicago.
