Today we're indulging in an nostalgic treat and honoring the heroes among us. Let's kick things off with National Fluffer Netter Day. The Fluffer Netter Sandwich, a delightful combination of peanut butter and marshmallow fluff, has been able to love comfort food for generations. Originating in the early 20th century, this sweet and savory creation became popular during the Great Depression due to its simplicity and affordability. Rather, you enjoy it as a nostalgic snack or a fun treat for kids. Today is the perfect day to make yourself a fluffer nutter sandwich. Don't eat my fluffer nutter. Don't use up all the marshmallow fluff. I just eat it by the spoonful. Well I do that with the peanut butter so we should put the two together and put some bread on it and well that's what a fluffer nutter is. I've never had one. I think you should go ahead and make it. How have you never had a fluffer nutter? I know, I know. I sometimes wonder about you. I really do. Heroes come in many forms from first responders and military personnel to everyday individuals who display extraordinary courage. One poignant story is that of Captain Chelsea, Sully, Salomonberger. In 2009, when U.S. Airways flight 1549, Stratophothec Ease and lost engine power, Captain Sully successfully landed the plane on the Hudson River, saving all 155 passengers and crew. His quick thinking and bravery serve as a powerful reminder of the impact one person can have. Today on National Hero Day, let's honor the heroes among us and recognize their incredible contributions. I love this story. It's a great story and I think Tom Hanks plays him in the movie, "Sully." I'm totally watching this movie. Yeah and it's interesting because you know he has this amazing landing on the Hudson and then he has to deal with all the ramifications afterward of Congress hearings and all this other stuff and it was really interesting to watch. Can we actually grab a fluffer nutter and throw the movie on? That sounds like a great idea. I'm Le Joy Johnson. I'm Marla Anderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. And until next time, keep celebrating. Other heroes around us every day aren't they? Especially right now in western North Carolina. Let's see who's celebrating. We remember Dick Burnett, folk musician, songwriter from Kentucky blind most of his life, born October 8th, 1883. You may not know the name Dick Burnett, but you probably know the song, he wrote, first published in 1913. It's been recorded by the Stanley Brothers, Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul, and Mary. This song played a central role in the plot in the film, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, winning a Grammy along with other songs on the multiple platinum-selling soundtracks. I've seen trouble all my days. I did turn well to open Kentucky to play for I was born in Great. For six long years I've been in trouble No pleasure, yeah, on earth I find. Far in this world, I'm bound around love. I have no free to help me now. [Music] To make your friends safe, I'm just a trained man, my face in every single one. But there is one crown that is given. I'll meet you home, God's golden show. That's Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys. Thank you friends for listening today. I always appreciate that and I hope you have a wonderful day. Let me finish up now with our motivational moment and I was talking to some folks just the other day about our motivational moment that is posted on our Facebook page at five o'clock every day Monday through Friday and that gets a lot of attention, a lot of shares and gets your day started off right. So here's our motivational moment thanks to Livingstone Wealth Management, Raymond James in Madison. It's my to-do list for today. Be grateful, be kind, let go of what I can't control or change, listen to my intuition, be productive with calm, breathe, and count your blessings. [BLANK_AUDIO]
