You keep hearing talk that an October surprise is brewing that could derail either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris' campaigns. Think about the Comey investigation of Hillary Clinton or the Trump grab them by the "mmm." Well, this is not that. But it is interesting. The esteemed Bob Woodward reports in a forthcoming book that Trump has spoken with Vladimir Putin several times since leaving office. It's not clear about what. Trump's people denied with many adjectives. Hmm. Let's see. Woodward, who's reporting over decades, including exposing Watergate, speaks for itself. Versus Trump, who machine gun farts lies. So let me incline to believe Woodward, which would be concerning because no former president should speak with an adversary without making sure the current administration is aware of it. It falls under that heading of being an American first. However, literally nothing matters at this point when it comes to October surprises for Trump. His supporters aren't going anywhere. Perhaps for Kamala Harris, should there be an October surprise for her? The impact? Well, that would remain to be seen.
