[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] That was Portland Jazz Orchestra from the Northeastern album and of course Killer Joe, the infamous Killer Joe and the key in the name is killer because of the Halloween slant spooky stuff when we've never really done a Halloween thinking because the show is always in between the dates I thought we're smidging there a bit of bonfires stuff as well, so everything's related to that so just listen and learn everybody remember you can check us out on Facebook and also you can email us anything you want but remember be nice that's big bands and beyond 20@gmail.com right spooky once more and I think we'll play a bit of Louis Armstrong and straight in there with the word spooks [Music] The other night, about 12 o'clock, I thought I'd go downstairs just to check the lock. When I heard something in the house, I don't mean a mouse. I swear there was spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks. I know there was spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks. Couldn't move just a didn't stare, I never was so scared. A boy spook spoke and I would him speak, he said, "What's it gonna make the back, don't speak?" We'll tease the cad and hound the pump, and raise our spirits up. Oh, Lord, it ends spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks, those scary old spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks. You don't have to take my word, but I would, but I would. The next spook spoke, he said, "Spose we make, the faucets start to drip and make the shutters shake." You let me know just what you want. This is my favorite haunt. Beware of them spooks, spooks, spooks, that mischievous, spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks. I ain't spoofing, man, I mean, and I've seen what I've seen. A big spook spoke, he said, "Spike my son," he said, "I'll show you how to scale up some fun." But next time, when you're well, see, you make it a loud and clear. Watch out for them spooks, spooks, spook, those nasty old spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks. Maybe you don't think it's so, but I know what I know. The last spook turned to his boss and frown, said, "I thought I'd throw you to wait in the ground." But you look awful cute tonight, in fact, you look afraid. He's talking about spooks, spooks, spooks, real genuine spooks, spooks, spooks, spooks. No, you stop putting up your dukes. You just can't fight the limit spooks. I'm good now, yeah, man, I don't think there's time. Oh, wait for us, wait for us, wait for us, wait for us. That old black magic's got me in its spell, that old black magic that you weave so well. Those icy fingers up and down my spine, the same old witchcraft, when your eyes meet mine. The same old jingle that I feel inside, when when that elevator starts it's right. Dialing down and down I go round and round I go like a leaf that's caught in the tide. I should stay away, but what can I do? I hear your name and I'm a flame, a flame with such a burning desire that only your kiss can't put up the fire. You're the lover, you're the lover, you're the lover, you're the lover I have waited for. So make that fate, let me create it for, and every time your dips meet mine. Dialing down and down I go round and round I go in the spin. I'm loving the spin I'm in, I'm under that old black magic color. Yes, I'm in the spin, I'm loving the spin I'm in, I'm under that old black magic color. Got me spinning, spinning, spinning around like a elevator's going down in this magic black magic color. Thank you, music lovers. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Shorty Rogers, Big Band of the album jazz walls and that was witchcraft. Hey, this is Bob Minser, saxophonist, composer, arranger, long-term member of the yellow jackets, conductor of the WDR Big Band, and you are listening to Paul Rigby's Big Bands and Beyond, over and out. Halloween's a bit of a tricky one because as you get older you don't know whether to hide behind a sofa and keep your head down for a couple of hours or get a bucket of sweets and throw them at the kids. What do you do? Send me your ideas, I'd love to know what you like to do. Right, we're going to do a Bill Holman number. When I was in the States I was looking off to be showing him around Bobby Shoe with Bobby Shoe, that is on the Musicians' Union in LA. Two Big Bands were rehearsing side by side. We turned left and we saw Bob Florence and we turned right and we saw the amazing Bill Holman. This is Bill Holman off the great Big Band album playing The Moon Is Blue. ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ You can listen to us on Spotify. But I would obviously ask if you would currently follow or like or whatever you do that's available on those buttons within Spotify. Now I'm gonna ask you, now we're in November, do go straight into Christmas mode or are you traditionalist waiting for December. And if you do wait for December, when in December, you put them up your Christmas decorations, do you put them up the first week or the week before or you just buy a home bug and just listen to big bands and be on the course. ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ Gene Cooper has a lot to answer for with his sing, sing, sing.
