Phil Berger's response, a new private school voucher scheme, half a billion dollars of taxpayer money will mostly go to help wealthy citizens pay for private schools. Welcome to October 10th on the National Day Calendar. They were indulging in light, airy goodness and celebrating the creativity of cake decorating. Known for its light, fluffy texture and delicate sweetness, angel food cake is a timeless dessert that has been delighting taste buzz since the beginning of time. The cake's unique texture comes from whipped egg whites, which creates its airy structure. One charming story dates back to the late 1800s when the cake became a hit at church socials and potlucks praised for its heavenly texture and simplicity. Today, enjoy a slice of angel food cake, perhaps topped with fresh berries or some whipped cream. When my mom would bake these, you know, they, they, they, I think they sit upside down if I remember, right? And then they're little crusty across the top, right? And I had always sneak up and just take a little bite of that crusty stuff. Mmm, that sounds so good. Yeah, especially with berries, like strawberries and whipped cream. So good. Blueberry might be good on this too. I've never tried that before. Mmm. Cake decorating is an art form that transforms simple cakes into stunning visual masterpieces. Consider the story of Duff Goldman, the Ace of Cakes, who turned his passion for baking an artistry into a successful career. His bakery, Charm City Cakes, gained fame for creating elaborate and imaginative cake designs that push the boundaries of what's possible. Whether you're a professional or a home baker, today is the perfect day to experiment with frosting, fondant, and decorations to create your own masterpiece on national cake decorating. Someone left the cake of the rain, I don't think that I can take it 'cause it took so long to bake it, and I'll never have the recipe again. So those cake decorating shows that, like, have competitions, I think they are so cool. So have you ever seen the ones where they do, like, is it, like, cake or regular food? Yes! Is it a piece of broccoli or is it cake? Okay, sometimes I can't even tell the difference. Maybe broccoli's taken it too far, but it's amazing what they can do. You always take it too far. I'm LaDoye Johnson. I'm Marla Landerson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day.
