Palestinians in Gaza began fasting for the holy month of Ramadan as hunger worsens across the strip and pressure grows on Israel over the growing humanitarian crisis. The protest vote movement over President Biden's handling of the Israel Hamas war is growing. More than 100,000 Michigan voters chose uncommitted on their ballots. A week later, roughly 263,000 in five super Tuesday states did the same. Organizers are now watching tomorrow's primaries in Washington and Georgia for similar protests as the movement raises more questions about whether a small but significant number of Democrats angry at the president might abandon him in November, hurting his chances in swing states like Michigan. I'm Seth Zutel and this is Markets in a Minute. Stocks are slipping as Wall Street prepares for a report on inflation that could show how realistic markets hopes for easier interest rates are. The S&P 500 was three tenths of a percent lower early Monday. The benchmark index is coming off just its third losing week in the last 19. The S&P is still near the all-time high. It's set on Thursday. The Dow fell 91 points. That's about two tenths percent. The NASDAQ composite was also off two tenths of a percent. Economists expect that Tuesday's report on prices at the consumer level could show that inflation remained at 3.1% in February. Markets are hoping that the Federal Reserve could start cutting interest rates in June. Treasure yields held relatively steady in the bond market. Bitcoin hit another record. Seth Zutel in New York.
