Bring Your Own Blockbuster

BYOB: Drive

Style over substance? Substance and Style? More substance than people give credit for? Stylish in a substantial kind of way? Maybe we could all just put our swords down and admit Ryan Gosling is just furiously handsome and talented at the same time. If you're anything like Ben and Jack this is one of those guilty pleasure films. No one is claiming that this is the greatest film that has ever been made... BUT... it's got so much to it to enjoy.

For starters the movie looks absolutely incredible. Literally take any frame in the film from any one of the individual set ups and the chances are it'll look blooming stunning. The lighting is dreamy, the casting is sensational, the pacing is brilliant, the soundtrack... oh my word the soundtrack. The fact we get to see so much of the story play out through this synthwavy style hazy dream like soundtrack is stunning.

What a cast by the way Let us give you the breakdown on the old MVP chat.

Gosling in what could be considered his audition for Blade Runner 2049.

Mulligan sparkling through a lot of male red mist.

Cranston in one of his first turns outside of Malcolm in the Middle pre Breaking Bad.

Isaac in a pre jacked phase as a standard.

Brooks in the most gruesomely ominous mafioso style baddie role.

Only one can win! who is it?
