Tale as old as time, true as it can be, barely Monday morning and time for another belting episode of BYOB. It was only a matter of time until we could get ourselves fully immersed into the world of Disney and what a way to do it with one of the greatest Disney... wait no... simply one of the greatest films of all time. Beauty and the Beast.

There's no avoiding this so we'll address it up front the, music contained within this 81 minutes of absolute joy, is up there with the greatest soundtracks of all time in any film, from any era, across any genre. And sorry to do this but if you're listening along you need to decide your all time greatest Disney tune as well as your top 5 songs from the film. Do you want to lead with Gaston? Belle? Is there any way of topping Tale as Old as Time?

The film is over 30 years old and of course there are so many questions around the Disney films in general and the messages that they pushed in their own time. Ben and Jack have a right good deep dive into the nature of Belle as a character and her place as a feminist Icon. We tear apart the machismo buffoonery present in Gaston, the wonderful charm of the flatwear and crockery and we take a look at the actions of the mob and how they reflect the present day.

So who is up for the MVP conversation? Well for the first time in a few episodes it's a really really tough one. There's something really special about the fact that in this era of Disney the leads are all from musical theatre backgrounds - and wow does it show with their unbelievable vocals!
