The name's Blockbuster, Bring your own Blockbuster. FFS that was a tragic start but it's unavoidable isn't it?! This week Ben and Jack dive into the world of James Bond for the first time on the podcast and what a selection it is too: Casino Royale. Daniel Craig's first outing as James Bond and the start of a new Bond era.

Lots as ever up for discussion but firstly the guys dive into where the Bond franchise moved with this film, and how it started a new generation of James Bond films that said goodbye to some of the previous formulas of the past. We take a deep dive into a new version of James Bond, as Daniel Craig provides a rougher more brutish Bond for audiences to digest... in blue swimming shorts.

The classic Bond checklist is up for debate. The love interests, the fast cars, the fight scenes, the theme tunes, the gun barrel sequence. All are carefully dissected and unpacked but then within the same breath could be said to be carefully reimagined in a way that will satisfy Bond fans. But are Ben and Jack happy with how the series moved?

There's a lot of discussion here to be had too around the film's MVP's. Eva Green, Daniel Craig, Mads Mikkelsen and Judi Dench all with wonderful turns BUT who was our most valuable performer? Then of course we'll make sure to scratch that 'HOW HAS THIS AGED THOUGH!?' itch with so much here to unpack, particularly as we see this particular Bond arch with a beginning middle and end.
