Enjoy this one and we're talking in the second part specifically about non-tavian wicks. We also have Tucker Craft. Also, we kind of merged over into a little disagreement about Romandre Stevenson and a couple of key points on a dynasty trading strategy. Stay tuned all the way to the end here. Like I mentioned, you can catch Ryan some solo shows talking about dynasty team management, what's on his mind, the biggest keys of the week as we head into week six here as this week progresses on the UT premium channel. We'll head right in and segue right into the continued discussion we have in the long form recording we did together this week. Last one here and less or so in terms of monster wheelbarrow leaks and players here. But Don Tavian wicks is a player that I was kind of surprised. Last week, I don't know what sites were promoting him in how much of an intensity level. His start rate was in the 70s and that was surprising to me. Yes, we had Christian Watson out. We got later in the week that Romeo Dobbs wasn't going to play. And then wicks came up small. It's been frustrating season so far. For wicks two weeks in a row, he got quality targets and yet some drops. He also had some missed opportunities there. One was a poor throw by love, but it hasn't come together and yet unequivocally, I would say film folks and obviously within the building of Green Bay, they liked on Tavian wicks. The brass tacks and at the end of the day, he's an ancillary wide receiver that he was running as the four, the five. He really didn't have a lot of routes until the injuries started. And with Watson out, obviously that opens the door. Dobbs out, that opens the door even more, but Dobbs will be back. So with Montevian wicks, the player, what do you kind of think of a younger wide receiver that there's some buzz in the Dynasty NFL kind of communities of, oh man, watch this route running, watch this separation, watch these hands and all this kind of stuff. And then you look and you see a depth chart that is relatively blocked against him. So going into this game, I get why the start rate was that way. If you remember the game prior where they were, it was like 28, three against the Vikings and it was just chucked it all over the field. Jordan Love had four touchdowns and 400 yards. Don Tavian wicks had 78 yards and two touchdowns through the air. And so I get it when they see Christian Watson out and they look, I think, I don't know that the average person was viewing Tucker craft the way I view him, which I have to get into him on the preview side because I love some Tucker craft. But looking at his previous game with, which was Love's first game back and the fact that Christian Watson there, I think everyone just assumed this is going to be Jaden Reed and Don Tavian wicks against the Rams who are a bad defense and it's just going to be to the moon. And he did get his targets. What I will say is he looked bad. I think I pulled up my notes here just because I go through every game and write notes down, just wrote wicks, not the guy dash get out. So I clear cut. Yeah, I don't make notes on every player or anything like that from every game. So the fact that that came up is I think unequivocally wicks is not even a wide receiver to just from what I saw. If you box score scout and didn't watch the game, just some of the plays, I don't think he's got it, right? We kind of thought, I think at one point, that Jordan Love and an amalgamation of wide receiver for twos, whether it's dogs, whether we viewed Reed or Watson or wicks or all of this and each one kind of pops in their own little way. And I think it's become much more clarified this year where Reed is the alpha. And I think craft is number two. And I think that Watson is the explosive guy, when healthy, though, asterisk, they're kind of the will fuller asterisk, when healthy. And then I just think that if there is a cell window for wicks, because if you box score scout the last two weeks together with love back, I can write up a thing to get out of him for. But yeah, it's I am cashing out on him with urgency. Bed Online is the world's most trusted betting platform and your number one source for everything football. Bed Online, the game starts here. Yeah, last year he kind of built his profile on about 20 routes per game. He ended up having two yards per route run, 20% target per route run. And drop rate was in control. He scored four touchdowns. Like he was the epitome of if we project this towards a greater volume, then we're going to really have something here. The problem was this is a rotational wide receiver core. You had positivity with the career start of Watson, the career start of Jane Reed. Jobs has been good enough to say that there's no reason to think that which was going to move up that that chart without an injury. Now he's moving up. That was the perfect storm week. He had a couple of weeks in a row. Drop rate is through the ceiling. I don't really think he's not going to play much if his drop rate stays in the 25 to 30% range. That's a nutty figure. But he is scoring touchdowns yet again this season. But he's not increasing his routes. You cannot eat anything more than a tantalizing idea if you run 20 routes per game. Let's go back to the first two or three weeks of the season. We were saying this exact thing about Chris Olave, he was getting 20 routes per game and you just can't. Even if you're a starting wide receiver, if your team is supplying 20 routes per game, you're going to have a tough slog being anywhere near the top 25 to 30 of the position. It's just going to be really tough and you're going to have to score touchdowns at a prodigious rate. So for Wix right now, again, he's still an idea and his yards per route run is in half. He still is getting targets. Again, this team believes in him to some degree. But these other guys are not going away. They're all under contract. They're all insulated with Green Bay. They don't have to make decisions on any of these players. I think it's until maybe not this coming off season, but the next off season I think is when some of these contract decisions come due to some degree. I think it's Dobbs is the first one. So this is a situation that he's the rare injury away wide receiver that you'll have interest in where basically if any of the three guys are out now, Watson is going to be outside, opens the door a little bit. But man, I mean, you are barking up a tree that he's being valued now. Some of the trades we're going to go over are basically, you can get rid wide receivers for these prices and not take any of the risk of Wix going back in the bottle as the wide receiver for what if the drops continue? And let's remember he's a low pedigree option that is fighting to see enough rounds. Long term, I think his career is that that guy that you you talk about with your fantasy nerd buddy to go, Oh yeah, I remember that guy. It's the guy that's off and on your roster and off and on free agency, right? I'm names like who's the perfect one? Nelson Agilor, for example, like, although Nelson Agilor had more draft pedigree, you know, you can talk about Reynolds who's out in Denver right now who every now and then has a pop game, you're like, Oh yeah, that guy. I mean, and he gets picked up for a month and then he goes back. Yeah. And just any of those guys, I think that's his long term outlook. And so you're getting right, Calvin Austin, I'd put in this bucket or who was it? I don't know if it was Noah Brown, who was the guy that was popping for the Texans for a few games when they had injuries last year, but like, yeah, that type of a Oh, yeah, that guy. I don't it wasn't over on. Okay. Yeah, let me go. Me and names. I'm always a little bit trevacious about what I got him right. But six weeks, Noah Brown was one of the hot guys. That's right. entire NFL. And so if he's got a situation like this, and anybody who's buying him right now did not watch the tape, they're only looking at the box score for the last two weeks, or they only watched the game two weeks ago and not this week's game. So it was that bad. Yeah, he I just think if you can lock into an asset, say a second or something like that for him, or what you can get for a second, you know, because we've been able to go second and third for a Mario Cooper, or, you know, you could get even DeAndre Hopkins, you could get for a third right now. So like getting into a second is definitely something that I'm doing. Right. So first trade was exactly that. The Ontavian Wix for a second. You already kind of weighed in on that one. You're staying flexible. You're getting insulated where it's a lot of falls out on Wix. You have something tangible to use in the trade market or moving and shaking in the rookie draft next year. How about for a falling, a falling player in terms of his appeal? We got Dontavian Wix for Rashad White. I mean, yes. And yes, if you need running back, that's a guy who's getting requisite touches, who has a couple catches a game. Cool. Just not a guy that I'm long term thrilled in. Where do you stand on? Where do you stand on the possibility of Bucky Irving, quote unquote, taking the job? Do you think that that is likely not likely based on what you've observed over families? He might. The only concern I have about him is he might be kind of that Tony Pollard type thing early on or those type of guys were like, when Zeke's running it, he you're like, that's the better running back. That's explosive guy. And then when he's the guy, you remember kind of what Tony Pollard did as the guy in Dallas, it wasn't quite as explosive kind of got wore down. So that's my only concern there. But thinking of him as stocks, like Rashad White is beaten down. And I don't know what he would have to string together to actually pop back up and value, whereas I think Ty's just, there's so little he would have to do, you know, break one run or something like that. He's got all of the momentum behind him for people wanting to say he's the next big thing. And what really might be the case, especially with the good running back class coming out and the fact that Ty's day three is they may just draft over the top of him next year anyway. So I really like Ty, but I like him a lot in that I think that a little pop, I can get profit off of him, right? The problem is I don't, for some of the prices he's going for it. Like, whereas I would totally sell wicks for a second. I don't know if I'm paying a potentially non playoff second for Ty, right? And that's what he's going for. So yeah, I think, yeah, Bucky Irving for me is the more I watch him, the more I say Ty every time, look at him saying Ty, I don't know where you were on that, but I don't know where I think is where I'm at. But yeah, just all right. Yeah, go back to that. So Bucky Irving, like he plays small, like he's very dynamic. He reminds me of a guy that you need to keep him in that like 40% of the backfield share, maybe 50%. I struggle to think that he's going to get a quote, quote, full workload and he's going to be a clear starter. And that would be the best use for an NFL team. Like running inside, unless he has a hole where he can start making those tremendous jump cuts, like anything that's physical, like once a guy gets, and you can say, well, they're not going to give their hands on them. But once they get their hands on them, plays over, like he's not going to move anybody. And I just think that is not typically like the Darren Sprolesian type profiles. We rarely or James White, we rarely see that evolve all the way to, oh man, you're the actual starter. So be really careful. It's not a Bucky Irving show or a tie show. But just to put a point on on a Bucky Irving in that capacity and white, again, for all of his flaws, he's a prototypically sized guy with enough smoothness. He kind of reminds me of Lovey on Bell a little bit. You know, he's not overly athletic, but really good hands and smart. And he's going to play in the NFL, you know, like that might evolve into a guy that's, you know, Antonio Gibson, like that's technically, you know, a number two. But I mean, that's the worst case scenario is you're sitting on a guy that's probably, you know, a very strong, profiled injury away guy, like, and that's if it devolves over one to two years here in a bad scenario situationally for him. Just like Bucky Irving, because with that type of player that flashes and stuff like that, you can get up higher. You can get someone who believes in him long-term, whereas-- You can actually get the role that you think Irving might get someday. And white's a pro, like you said. He's a pro. He will have, even if it's just Alfred Blue or something, where he's just a pro. He's always around. He's always the number two guy or whatever it is. Alfred Blue. It's folks knew that you just got to shout out Alfred Blue in the worst case ones. I like Alfred Blue for the record, so he was a lie. I know you do. My heartthrob, guys. You know who the new Alfred Blue is? It's Darin Goboale. These are guys that they will hang around the NFL for way longer than you ever expect, and you will not understand why the NFL teams like them. Alfred Blue was one of the worst prospects ever, and he was in the NFL for years, and he got some spot starts. And Darin Goboale is that guy. You're like, "He's on the Texans," and he suddenly went pick up, and he had a good game. He's playing over camp makers. You're like, "What does Topean even versus weigh in this one?" Be sure you guys sign up for the GM subscription, because on the premium side, we're going to go on a deep dive on the history of Alfred Blue this week. It'll be great. Ooh, yes. Alfred Baby Blue eyes. All right. We got a couple more here. We got Ontavian Wicks and a third for Jordan Mason. I mean, two guys moving opposite directions, right? Yeah, this is locking in production. Like a third of five. How many more weeks of starts for Mason do you have to get to feel really good about this trade? One. I mean, even if... Even if... If Christian McCaffrey comes back next week, I still think that the primary backup behind him is more valuable than Wicks, right? Well, still the risk factor of if McCaffrey comes back in October, you're like, "I mean, you're going to be watching every touch very closely." Or even next year, the McCaffrey owner, even if McCaffrey's healthy going into next year, is going to want the guy behind him, right? Like, can you get him? You're saying he's going to make it through the entire rest of the season. We don't even know how they're going to use McCaffrey. He's going to make it through healthy when he has this condition in both calves and Achilles now. I mean, this is going to be a fun watch. Even if he's number two for the San Francisco 49ers, but he is the solid number two guy, you can pull a future second for him. Yeah. All right. Last one. We got Wicks and Austin Echler for coming off a big game for Remindre Stevenson, who got quote-unquote "benched." All right. On the Patriots guy, I don't think he necessarily had a different role, but I think they did send him a message. They sent a message and you saw that you got his attention, right? He did not start attention. He got his attention. And yet his workload was pretty similar. He might have lost, what, two or three touches in the grand scheme of rotations. The only problem you're going to have with him is you'll know in the first quarter, if you're going to have a, you know, dud game out of him just because the Patriots, the only way that right now they can compete is that perfect game script where they're within a score and controlling time of possession. Run the ball, hold them under 20 points. Yeah. And if that doesn't happen, he's just game scripted completely out from the word go, right? So he's not the guy I would go to. I actually liked the first one that was in here where it was wicks for right out of me. Really? I like that one. I do it or Stevenson, though. They just give him a new contract. Like, he's if you're thinking beyond this year, like, you know, if things are looking better, we haven't had the variable of Drake May under center, whether that happens later this year, whether that happens next year, and they put a couple pieces around them. Like, I don't know. Like, you're getting a projected starter for multiple years here. I mean, I know Wright has the juice. And maybe you're thinking of it in a two-way scenario, right? Like, I'm getting right. And when Wright pops, then I'll really get something, right? Is that the? Well, that or I can write them, you know, there's, there's multiple things that can happen. Wright's going to be the explosive guy. He's under contract on that rookie contract for the next four years. He is, you know, most starts aging. All chance, not that durable. And so I can see him coming up from the little we've seen of him. He looks good, right? So day three guy, like, couldn't they easily go over the top of him? Like, that's another thing. Okay. But I think that they like, all right. So Stevenson versus we talked about Rashad White, the offense that I want a running back on is not the Patriots right now. Okay. So he's going to look right now. Like, is this a good trade if you're not contending? All right. Stevenson's never going to have the juice to pull more than this, right? I don't understand them. Right. So, uh, you're buying him to actually use them in your life. I can't believe I'll argue for Stevenson here. It's a wild world. Yeah. It. Yeah. Do you feel comfortable starting him each week? Week like, again, you're like, again, I said, especially if you're a team out of it. If you are one and four right now, if I'm one and four, I'm getting a draft. No, I'm getting a draft pick. Give me that. What if you can't get that? What if you can't get that? Whether I'm getting a guy like right. Yeah. Okay. But intrinsically, I'm just saying, I like the Stevenson one. You're getting out of the equir business. The odds that Stevenson is the week one starter next year. But you're getting production on your roster, making your pick worse and blah, blah, blah, blah. Are you? You just said he's going to be scripted out of a lot of these games. Yeah, but he's going to add to potential points when he's not, right? He's going to both suck if you're competing and suck if you're not. That's the problem. Okay. All right. All right. That'll do it. So dissenting opinions there on Romandre Stevenson, but some really good trades. It started with the Dottavian Wicks discussion, which is always a good avenue to go down. So for Ryan Morgan, do you mention Tucker Craft? Anybody else? We haven't discussed our game plan for the premium show, but we pretty much empty the kitchen sink. Ryan also produces a solo show on a weekly basis to go further into any players that we leave on the kitchen floor here. But I mean, we got guys on the list like, potentially Ezekiel Elliott, Tyrone Tracy. We've been talking about the Breeze Hall moment now for three weeks, and this is the moment. Yeah. Maybe a little more on guys like Gino Smith and Tucker Craft, of course, that'll be most of the show, sensing that. We'll touch on Juju Schmashuster just a little bit, maybe Darnell Mooney. So again, a lot of other players. We feature a few in this show. So make sure you stay tuned to the premium show for Ryan Morgan, myself, Chad Persons. Until next time, never settle reviews to be average and keep building those Bingo. All right, Phil, we're recording now. So it's live. Go ahead. Pick on me the way that you want to. Did I say that? I would say that to my son, man. I mean, come on, man. Just go. This isn't CBS. All right. Be quiet for a few seconds. Why would people want to listen to the Sims complete podcast? Well, a couple of things. One, if you like to see sons pick on their father, this might be the place. If you want to see a place where the father just kicks the out of his son, this would be the place. What do you like about it, Matt? Ditto. Father, son, dynamic duo talking about the game of football that we love and share and appreciate together. And you know, hey, it's an extension of what we did, right? Growing up, I was able to watch my father play football, then obviously watch him as a broadcaster. And then he taught me the game of football and share the wisdom that he learned throughout his playing career. And you know, hey, sometimes we're full of it. And sometimes we're, we actually know a thing or two. Well, we do do a lot of research, at least I do. You, you little spotty, but you know, you're you hang in there. It's fun. I love doing this. And it's been awesome. Sims complete. Check us out wherever your podcasts are available on the Believe Network. Appreciate it. See you.
