This is an NBC News Radio Special Report, Hurricane Milton. I'm Michael Kastner. The sun is revealing the storm battered Florida's west coast. Milton made landfall last night as a powerful Category 3 hurricane, just south of Sarasota, leaving at least four dead and millions without power. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said Milton brought a lot of destruction. Hurricane Milton made landfalled near Siesta Key in Sarasota County. It moved quickly across central Florida overnight, producing significant flooding and damaging winds near its path. DeSantis says Hurricane Milton was significant, but it's not a worst-case scenario situation as it exited the state and headed out to the Atlantic. Search and rescue teams are going through the rubble. DeSantis says there were 19 confirmed tornado touchdowns due to the storm, but that number is expected to rise.
