Hurricane Milton, I'm Michael Kastner. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says Hurricane Milton was significant, but it's not a worst-case scenario situation. The storm did weaken before landfall, and the storm surge, as initially reported, has not been as significant overall as what was observed for Hurricane Halene. DeSantis said, as the day goes on, they'll get a better idea of the extent of the damage caused by the storm. The governor said they're working to get the power back on for those that lost electricity, and some is already starting to be restored. He warned his residents to be wary while cleaning up and to stay away from downed power lines. Dozens of people have been rescued from Milton in the Tampa area.
