Hurricane Milton has been downgraded to a Category 1 storm but it continues to bring devastating rain and wind to parts of Florida. Maximum sustained winds now in the Category 1 range 90 miles per hour still moving east northeast at 16 miles per hour. That's meteorologist Jeff Eno who expects Milton to head into the Atlantic Ocean between 7 and 8 this morning. This storm has left nearly two and a half million people without power after coming ashore earlier at Siesta Key, a barrier island just south of Sarasota. After making landfall as a Category 3 hurricane, Milton's winds ripped open the roof of the Tropicana Dome where Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays play. And officials in St. Lucie County, Florida are reporting multiple fatalities related to Hurricane Milton after tornadoes hit the area. It's unclear how many people have died or how many others were hurt. I'm Mark Meenfield.
