Yasmeen Altaji gives a round-up of today's trends

This is trending through daily rundown of news from the Middle East and around the world brought to you by the National. From Abu Dhabi, I'm Yasmin Al Khaji, here are today's headlines. Israel's Defense Minister, Yoav Ghalant, has said Israel will attack Iran in a blow that will be "deadly, precise, and above all, surprising." He made the threat after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Joe Biden spoke for the first time since August, and a conversation official said was "direct and productive." In northern Gaza, Israeli forces surrounded a hospital and opened fire. Local authorities and witnesses told the National. Doctors without borders said people died from their wounds outside Kamala-Dwan Hospital. In the U.S., more than 2 million people in Florida are without power, as Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm. "When this storm moves through, we're going to see winds over a hundred miles an hour, we're going to see a constant rain. We're all ready." Officials said some residents have died, and the roof of a stadium where hundreds were sheltering was blown off. And in the UAE, a mission to travel to the asteroid belt reached a milestone. The UAE signed an agreement with Mitsubishi to provide services for the 2028 launch of the Mohammed bin Rashid's explorer spacecraft. That's all for this morning's headlines.
