(laughing) - I'm trying to think if I've ever dug anything, I'm sure I'm doing some things, but. - Fairly, it's a good workout. - Yeah, I'd say so. Clearly, I don't do it. (laughing) - Welcome into another edition of that SEC podcast. I'm your host, Michael Braden. I go by SEC Mike on the Twitters and there's everybody's favorite cousin, cousin, shave. What's up, your old Tasty Hoeber? - Hey, buddy, what's going on? - Oh, buddy. I am fired up for some SEC football, another mailbag edition of the show. How about you, brother? - Oh, man, I'm awesome, man. I feel good. I feel good. But then every now and then, 13.1 creeps in. You know what I'm saying? (laughing) It's like, I'm not gonna lie, Mike. I feel like Tennessee, and we're gonna get to predictions tomorrow and everything. But I feel like Tennessee should have this game, right? I feel like that. But how many times have I walked into a Florida, Tennessee match up thinking this? Only to be heartbroken. And now I've got the 13.1 mouth. It feels like when you're a kid and you had to study for your final exam, you're excited because school's gonna beat out at that thing, but you were also a little nervous because you didn't study that well, so you hope you don't fail the thing. - That's kind of what, that's how I feel right now, Mike. I just hope we don't fail this thing. - And shut up, cousin Michael Raleigh. He says, "Low tea hyple and no balls, Billy." Early contender, comment of the night. And then, cousins Sven. Marathon shoes ready yet, cousin Shane? - Yes, they are. Unfortunately, that's how confident I am that Tennessee volunteers are gonna win. Is that I went out and bought a new pair of shoes. - Oh, you're funny. - I thought I walked more today, Mike. You know, with my watch, I was like, I was like, "You know, I'm gonna do a cautious effort "of trying to get some more steps in." And I'm like, "Oh yeah, today I nailed it, right?" And I looked at my watch and it was 1.13 miles. I'm like, "I'm screwed." - Not even close, huh? - No, not even close at all. - All right, well, you know, Shane? - Yeah. - Oh, man, I always struggle, I always struggle with these transitions, but you know what I don't struggle with? - What's that? - My bookie, come on over to my bookie, the Outline Sportsbook, don't forget presenting sponsor this football season and sign up, the account's free, but if you wanna put money in there, Shane, all you gotta do, use that promo code that, S-E-C-T-H-A-T, S-E-C, and they'll double-- - Yeah. - Just like Shane's about to double his walking that he does for the entire year when Florida beats Tennessee, they'll double your initial deposit over at my bookie, the Outline Sportsbook, my bookie doc, A-G is a website with that promo code that, S-E-C, you can't beat it, Shane, you can't, you can't, it's just free money, you know, who doesn't like free money, so, and I appreciate all the cousins that's already done it, and again, you don't have to put $1,000 in there, put $100, put $50 in there, just have a little fun, put a couple, that's what I like is the parlays, you know, just put 'em on three or four teams, and if it hits, man, then you're eating high 'em hard. - 'Cause again, he's a big Florida fan. - Yeah. - He says, "I'm a walk in after midnight." Cousin Shane. (both laughing) - Oh man. - That's a good one. But hey, it's a mailbag show, so we got quite a few lined up, we always get to the official cousins first, and you know, we're gonna try to get to as many of these as we can, hopefully we can get to 'em all, but shout out if you got, if you're an official cousin and you ask us a question in the chat, as long as I see it, or if you wanna throw us a donation, we'll answer your questions too, but man, we gotta get this guy on the payroll Shane. Shout out Cousin Jr. first. - Thank you, Cous. - Just gifted another membership. He does it every show, this time Cousin West is now a member of the family, Shane. Hopefully we'll see him at the next family reunion. That was a lot of fun last week, wouldn't it? - Yeah, it was. We got to see a lot of cool folks, got to hang out, drink some cold beers, so I hope to see everybody at the next one, and this thing's gonna continue to grow. It's like, it's a little awkward at first, 'cause you know, again, you're just, I'm seeing faces I've never seen before, you know, but I've seen some of the names, I've seen some of the tags, so it was just kind of cool to hear from everybody, and you know, help the families what keeps this business running, Mike. - Yeah, and I had no idea what I was doing clearly, so the second one hopefully will be even better, you know what? - Hey, that's like our show, we keep saying that for eight years, you know, 20 years from now, we're gonna be like, "You know what, one of these days we'll figure it out." (laughing) - Well, here's what I have figured out, Shane. I have figured out how to collect mailbag questions. So, you ready to answer some mailbag questions? - Let's do it, yes, sir. - All right, starting with cousin Tim, again, he's an official cousin, so we're gonna do his first, and he's already in the comments here, he says, "Bring your own beer to the family reunion." (laughing) When, not if, Shane, when, when Lane Kiffin beats LSU, will that be considered a big win? Because again, that's the knock on Kiffin, he can't win these damn big games. I think, I'm trying to rack my brain chain, I think without a doubt, that'll be Kiffin's best win to date. Would you agree with that? - To date, yes, absolutely. I would agree with that. - Now, here's the thing though. - But is that the whipping game, you know? Because again, I'm on the LSU bandwagon, you're not. - Yeah. - And when I'm looking, I see one game on this schedule, that's the big game, you know what I'm saying? I don't wanna get the cart for the horse, and I'm not saying LSU's a bad team. LSU's a great team, and they're a fringe college football playoff team. But you know exactly who I'm talking about, Mike, and that's November, not Georgia Bulldogs. Being them would be the non-wiffin game. You know what I'm saying? - That's fair, but I was also looking ahead to the playoff. - Yeah. - If they win a playoff game, I think he obliterates that whipping kick, and I'll never call him that again. - Is that true? (laughing) - No. - It's pretty damn catchy, you know? (laughing) But that will be, again, I think that'll be his best win to date. I'm just trying to, I know they beat Penn State in a bowl game. They have beat LSU before, and it was a good LSU team. I think it went, what, 10 and three, something like that. But yeah, I don't know, I think that, that's what you gotta do. This is the best team ever. We gotta get some of our best wins ever. - Yeah, you got to, man, this, I mean, we're trying to sell it, man. We're trying to sell tickets for Ole Miss. We're trying to sell it that Lake Kiffin's the best coach in the SEC, or hell in the country, and we can't do that if you drop games like Kentucky, not no offense in Kentucky. I think they're a better football team than expected, but you know, this LSU team, this is a team that Ole Miss is a favorite in, so they're expected to win. So that's the game we're talking about. But big games, Mike, I wanna see, like, maybe one you're an underdog in, or one that it's a pick 'em type situation. - Right. I needed to see him to beat Alabama. You know, just couldn't do it. Of course, hell, hardly anyone can do it, you know? - Yeah, especially with Nick there. You know, that would've been the ultimate, but obviously that didn't happen. - How bad do you think Kiffin feels that Vanderbilt beat Alabama before he could? - Oh, well, he's doing like we are. Well, Nick's not there, you know, so it's not to say, you know, it's not the same. - All right, shout out cousin Michael Raleigh. Again, he's an official member. He's a cousin, so he asked this question. We're gonna get to it right off the top here. Which school has the best dog mascot? Shane, there's a lot of dogs out there. There's Uga. - Yeah. - There's Smokey. There's Revoli down there at A&M. There's a Husky. You know, there's not as many as there are wild cats, thankfully, I mean, there's damn 100 wild cats out there. But yeah, we're biased, but I think Smokey's the best one. At least most unique, how about you? - I would say unique, and that's it. There's several bulldogs out there. You know what I'm saying? So maybe Walford, you know, they got that little, that they got that little mutt they use. But outside, if we're talking about inside the SEC. - I forgot about Walford. - You know what I'm saying? They got that one that's on, I was thinking that one dog on Independence Day, you know, no, no, no. It's Men in Black, you know, the talking dog. I don't know if you remember that. The little pug. The little pug, it's Smoke cigarettes and stuff or whatever. That's what I think of, when I think of Walford's mascot. So, but as far as dogs, yes, I'm extremely biased. So I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say Smokey. But if I'm picking one in, in the conference outside of Tennessee, it's hard to go against Uga. I think, you know, just the whole, I don't know, just the whole stuff that they do with the dog, the, the, after it. I mean, I've, I've went behind the, I didn't go there, but I've watched videos behind the scenes and stuff. There's a lot of preparation that goes into the, keeping him healthy because that's a dog that isn't supposed to be in the heat, but they managed to keep him cool. So that's, I guess that would be the, the second for me. - Yeah. And they're, they're making it very clear, Shane. Reveley is a female. So there, there are no male revelies there in A&M, just so you know. - Oh, that's good. - I had no idea. - No. - I, I have heard though that like, I can't remember exactly the exact story, but I think if like the dog wants to sit on the couch. - Yeah. - And then a, like a guy's sitting on the couch. He has, he's got to sit his ass on the floor, let the dog sit on the couch. - Mike, it's, it's a shame that we don't know more of the rules here, you know what I'm saying? And I know Texas A&M has a lot of weird ones, but I think we should definitely, maybe in the off season, spend some time and try to figure out the mascot. So yeah, let's, let's try to make a better effort. We've got a lot of stuff, this is not mailbag related, but me and Mike are going to do some pretty cool stuff in the off season. We talked about doing the bourbon trail. We talked about, you know, kind of getting out a little bit. Maybe get to some of these universities, talk to some of these coaches and players, but maybe that's something we should do too. It's just kind of figure out a little more about the mascot situation. - Mm, I'm just dreaming about that bourbon trail, Shane getting, (laughing) good liquored up up there, you know? - Absolutely, hell yeah. - Hey, shout out to Cousin Phil. He just gave us a bunch in the last show, Shane. - Hey, thanks, Cousin. - He's back here again. Cousin Shane, question for you. I asked Mike on Monday if Josh Hyple is Butch Jones 2.0 and he mocked me on national television. I mean, I don't want to believe my eyes here. Take, take him off the ledge. It is, is Hyple Butch 2.0. - He is not, he is not Butch 2.0. Now could he be? (laughing) I mean, there's part of me because let's not all forget. I mean, we all want to kind of throw it out the window, but, but there was a moment with Butch Jones that we thought we had our guy, man. We thought this, the, the, the dark days of UT, you know, not making a bowl game was behind us. And, and unfortunately, we got hit in the face and it feels like a little bit, you know, last year, we had some uneasiness, but this year, we, we started getting confident again, started feeling like this is going to be our year. We've got our quarterback, we've got all these weapons. And then these last two games have been very, very frustrating as a Tennessee fan. So I can, I get, you know, we talked about better vault syndrome, but there's the coach Lyle syndrome too, where you're thinking, maybe we got the wrong guy. And I don't think we do. I think we've got the right coach. It's just unfortunate events took place the last couple of weeks to, to kind of give us that little sense of doubt. - What is more frustrating, Shane, the fact that Tennessee lost or Tennessee's offense is struggling under hyper. I mean, I would imagine it's still the loss, but no, it's offense for me. So I thought this would be a 40, again, I had flashbacks of 22 with, I really thought, and I know there are two different quarterbacks, but I mean, I thought Nico was going to be very similar to Hendon Hooker and, and that this offense - Now again, and fairness, right? Sorry to cut you off, but I'm seeing a lot of this. Nico ain't it, Nico, you're not saying he's trash, but I mean, I'm even seeing that. - Hendon Hooker was not an elite first five, six games under hyper. - Yeah. - It took him a little while. - Nico started six games. - No, that's fair. I mean, I mean, Hendon Hooker didn't even start the season. Joe Milton did, so, you know, he had to earn his way into that role. And, and you know, I do feel like you can go out here and get any five-star recruit you want, and you can paint the picture of why it's going to be a perfect fit, but sometimes it's not either. So I'm not ruling out that it doesn't work out. You know, I hope that it does. I've seen flashes of why it would, but, you know, I'm not going to sit here and just lie to you and say, you know, Nico's going to be a Heisman candidate, even though I said that four weeks ago, you know what I'm saying? It's just, this is a guy that's got to learn Josh Hoppel's system. This is a guy that's got to get more comfortable playing quarterback. That, you know, a lot of these sacks that he's been taken is because he's held on the ball too long. So, you know, it can't just blame the offensive line anymore. So I'm, I'm, again, I'm not pointing fingers. This isn't a Tennessee meltdown again, but I'm just saying I'm not giving that one. - It's feeling like it. - Yeah, I know, I know. I'm sorry. - Hey, shout out 'cause of Joel here. Just gave us 20 bucks, Shane. Winter lose, glad we're in the SEC now. Great show, guys. Thanks for all you do. Oh, you sucks. Hook 'em. Hook 'em all, man. What a cow, man. We appreciate you 'cause of Joel. - God, are you, did you decide to go down there? Are you going down there? - Where, to Dallas? - Yeah. - No, I, no, okay. - No, I wish. - Yeah, I know. I know you, well, you dropped a couple of hits and I was like, are we doing this? And I'm, okay, all right. I need to let a few people know. You know, we're kind of close, so, no. But I would love to go down there. I'd love to see this rivalry and firsthand, you know. But again, welcome to the league. I feel like, I don't feel like Texas' presence has been heard yet, but I feel like Oklahoma has, you know. Ask Auburn, ask Tennessee, you know. These guys know exactly what Oklahoma's gonna be bringing to the table. So I think this is, here in the next couple of weeks, we'll probably be saying the same thing about the Longhorns. - And has, I mean, it's just made us the entire conference so much better, hadn't it, with these tremendous fans? - Oh, yeah. - I mean, I love, I mean, I think people, some people are thinking I'm like 100% serious. I hope they've like caught on by now. But I just, I love trolling Texas fans 'cause they get so damn mad. It's just one of the greatest joys I have in life right now. But again, I only do, you know, if I was sitting here trolling, of course Vanderbilt, just got a big win. If I was trolling Vanderbilt fans or something like that or Mississippi State, you know, it would just be mean-spirited and there would be no engagement, no interaction, right? Whereas I do it 'cause there's so many of them and they're so passionate and they get so damn mad. And I do it to Aggies too. Hell, I did it all last week to Aggies, you know what I mean? So I do it to everybody. But again, it's 'cause they're phenomenal fans and that goes for Oklahoma, obviously, as well. Those are probably my favorite SEC fans right now, even though they have turned on me because I'm just showing the statistics of how bad their offense is. I mean, I didn't, you know what I mean? But again- - It takes a little while to get Mike. - Right, they're passionate. And I love the passion and I don't care if you hate Texas and you hate Oklahoma, I don't care. They've made this conference infinitely better. - Oh, without a doubt, absolutely. I think you get the nail in the head. It's fun picking on the big ones, you know? You look at Alabama dropping a Vandy. You think we ain't been going hard on them? You know, they're coach, he don't give a shit and he's wearing a T-shirt. He just rolled out of bed and decided to coach football game. I mean, that's exactly what happened up there. So yeah, we're gonna give them a hard time too. So, but that's the beauty of this league. And sometimes it's a tough bill to swallow 'cause you two have been the big men's on campus, you know? It's always been Texas and Oklahoma. Well, there's 14 other teams over here. Now 14 other teams that give you a run for your money. So that's what I love about the SEC is just the parody of this conference. I learned that word last week. (laughing) - Shout out cousin Phil Bann, what a guy. He just gave us 50 bucks, Shane. - Maybe we are going to Dallas. (laughing) - No question, I just can't let a Texas fan out no Navy on here, man. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. A competitive nature of this conference now. You know what? - Hell yeah, no losers here. - All right, how about this one, Shane? From Joshua, 24 fan. I like this one, we have to put our thinking caps on here. - Okay. - What's the biggest SEC upset in the past five years? - And he's thinking, remember a couple of years ago, South Carolina knocked off Georgia in Athens. - Yeah, that was a good one. - That was Will Muschamp. It was like his last good win. 2020 Florida beat LSU. - Yeah. - Or no, excuse me, it was flipped the other way. Florida was going to the, they did go to the SEC Championship, but they were in the playoff hunt and that was the shoe toss. LSU came back and beat him. - Yeah. - Oh, you ain't gonna like this one, Shane. - 2022 Tennessee lost at South Carolina, that's gotta be up there. Or Vanderbilt just knocking off Alabama. I mean, that's an all-timer as well. Any other upsets come to mind for the last couple years? - Arkansas Tennessee. Arkansas Tennessee was a big one. - Yeah. - I would say right now the number one for me far in, I mean, just a mile away is Vanderbilt and Alabama. Number one Alabama Vanderbilt Commodores, just the history of both of these programs, absolutely man. That's gotta be number one in my books. I'll just give you the top three here. Number two would be Tennessee and South Carolina. Tennessee, you know, a win away. Two wins technically, but Vanderbilt, the team I just bashed. We were two wins away from going to a college football playoff and unranked South Carolina just, I mean, they didn't just beat us, they beat that shit out of us. So, and we still, Connor Stallions, I know he had something to do with it, Mike, even though he won't admit it. And then number three, I would give, I think Georgia and South Carolina was a huge, huge one. You know, I must champ with the glasses, became a thing after that. And, you know, it was an exciting football game, but yeah, those would be my top three right now. - How about this one? Cousin Trace is, cousin Shane defeating 13 miles. But you absolutely, I don't even want to use that anymore. Let's just, I'm afraid if I talk about it, it comes a thing, you know? So, I just like to get bored, and that clock is not a thing anymore. We all know what the bad is, but we're not talking about that. - I mean, I just think, and so I recorded an interview, we haven't put it out yet. Chris Lee, Vandy Sports, Southeastern 16 does a great job, but he put it, and I never thought of it like this Shane, but a lot of people had Alabama number one in the conference. - Yeah. - Well, hell, they were number one in the country. And most people in the preseason had, I think everybody, everybody had Vanderbilt 16th. - Yeah. - So, never, that I can recall, of course, we've never had 16, but even when it was 14, never could I recall a time where number 14 in this league could knock off number one. - Yeah. - And we just saw number 16 at least preseason, knock off number one in the country. So, that's gotta be the top upside. I mean, I don't know that that'll ever be topped, you know, unless, watch Mississippi State be Georgia. - Yeah, that would be it, that would be the one. Now, what year was A&M in Georgia? No, yeah, it was, no, A&M in Bama with the field goal right there at the end. - Mm-hmm. - Was that within five years or since it's been lovely? - Yeah, but I mean, that was... - 'Cause they did lose a couple of games, I thought, before that one. - Yeah, somehow A&M went eight and four and beat number one. You know what I mean? - Yeah, maybe the fashion of that game, you know, just coming down. - Right, right. - Yeah, Arkansas beating Texas a couple of years ago, but Texas wasn't that good. That wasn't technically SEC. I'm just trying to think of other ones, but I missed it, that was before Mississippi State going into LSU and beating them. But yeah, I mean, there's been a lot of good ones, you know what? - Yeah, yeah, there's been a lot there. And I don't think we've seen the last of them, man. I think this list would get changed in about three years. We'll probably talk about the best upsets in the last three years compared to the last 10. You know what I'm saying? 'Cause you made a point. When's the last time you saw 16 beat one? You know, I mean, it used to be a huge upset if eight beat two, you know, so... - Yeah. - So now I think we're gonna start seeing some more of those upsets. Well, clearly. - Shane, we got a, speaking of upset, we got a, so betting donation battle up here. - Come on now. - Thanks, cousin. - Cousin Joel, appreciate your brother. Does the coin flip mean more when only one side of the field has a goal pose? They say our schedule isn't as hard, but this is the kind of stuff we have to face. Hook 'em, hook 'em all, kicks, so yeah. I mean, that's wild, you know what? - You know what was sad is they just, these teams don't storm fields, you know? And I watched that Alabama Georgia game, anybody else would have beat Georgia, they would have stormed the field. Except maybe, maybe, I don't know, maybe Texas would have stormed, I don't know, but it's just you watch some of these teams, it's like, man, you kinda want 'em to struggle a little bit to appreciate football game, 'cause I felt so, there was a comment floating around, they were talking about Arkansas dropping the goal pose, sawing 'em off in pieces and selling 'em for NIL, right? - Yeah. - And I get that, that's great. You know, it was safe, it was a safe route, but there's something to be said about storming the field, tearing down those damn goal pose, walking around your campus or the city or whatever, dropping it in the nearest body of water, and then just freaking celebrating all week, they're still celebrating. I have seen more hot reels come off that Arkansas game, but you know what, they don't see any goal posts running around town there in downtown Arkansas, so that, I enjoy that. I think that's, I don't even know how it got there, but I think storming fields, and just, I mean, you can never, I still talk to people that were at the Tennessee Alabama game a couple years back. It was the best moment of their lives, you know? - And then if you're on the losing side chain, you just log off for the week. - You log off, man, absolutely. I've never been to a game where the field was stormed, and you know, I'm on the losing end, but I can only imagine how sucky that ride home was. - And then cousin feels got a question for you, Shane. I know you said you want to stop addressing this, but you're going to have to address it here. Can we livestream cousin Shane doing a half marathon if you have to do it? - Well, I'm going to tell you, man, about probably about a mile and a half in, I won't be talking at all. I will be just talking to the Lord, Jesus, Savior, and he just keeps me alive, Mike, because at that point, I don't communicate. So, but I do think that we can set up something along the way. - Remember, I'm going to do it with you. - Are you doing them? Are you really? - I thought you were just saying that. - Well, yeah, no, I'll do it with you. So, I can be there with a camera. - Okay, okay. - And then I also have equipment to where I can throw on, yes, we can hear you too. (both laughing) - Oh, okay, yeah, no, I can't, no, it's not happening, but if it does, and the, you know, I mean, again, two score touchdown favorites, so it should not happen, but if it does. - And this is why I said, Shen, you got our, you got to address this, man, cousin field. Man, what a guy, he just gave us 200 bucks. Go Vols, holds down, he will not be out waiting, out donated here, you know what? - Oh, 724, Texas still sucks. (both laughing) - Yep, all right, so I'm getting a plane ticket tonight to Dallas. All right, how about this one, Shane? - Yeah. - From KYO, what a name, what a name. How wide open is the SEC? He doesn't say if, he says when Oklahoma knocks off Texas. I'm gonna throw up the SEC standings here, so, Texas A&M would still be, 'cause they're on a buy. If Texas now has a loss, man, look at that jumbled mess, it would be there tonight, Oklahoma two and one. How wide open is this thing if Texas, which they're not contrary to popular belief, they're not even in first place right now, but if Texas loses, how wide open is this thing? - If they lose, if they lose, I'm gonna tell you, before that game even happens, Mike, I think this is a 12-headed monster. You know, here we are October 9th, and I can make an argument if you give me enough time, well, maybe 11. Okay, maybe 10, maybe 10 good teams that have an opportunity to make an SEC championship right now. I mean, look at the jumbled mess you got right here. We don't, it takes all the way down to 13 South Carolina to find a two-loss SEC team. I mean, everybody's still in the hunt. - Yeah, it's gonna be wild, man. So, again, if you're a fan of insanity, you probably are rooting for Oklahoma this weekend. You know what? - I just think it's gonna get, I think it's gonna get wild, man. I think some of these guys are gonna start knocking off each other, and we're gonna be sitting there at the end arguing why SEC needs two lost teams in the playoffs, maybe even a three-loss team into the playoffs, all right. I feel like that situation is kinda gonna be heading that way because this conference is just gonna beat each other up. - Mm-hmm. All right, how about this question? I thought his name was Shane Daddy. At first, I was like, what a name. And I thought it was you at first. - It's my nickname in high school, yeah. (laughing) - Shane Drowdy, though. Appreciate you, Shane. After, again, these people are not even saying, if they're saying after Oklahoma beats Texas, does Texas nosedive out of the top 10 like Mizzou? I think if Texas loses this game, I would keep Texas in the top 10, and I think Oklahoma would make a big jump up, possibly into the top 10. What's your thoughts on that? - Yeah, yeah, I totally agree. And I feel like this isn't like some of those other games where they say, like, let's say this happens. Let's say Oklahoma beats Texas. I feel like they'll say Oklahoma's a really good football team. Unlike some of these other games we saw, and they say, and Texas is not as good as we thought they were. So I feel like Oklahoma will end up getting more of the credit than Texas the blame if that were to happen in this football match. - Yeah, no, I think you're right. But I still think Texas would deserve a top 10 ranking. - Yeah, I'd say top seven, top eight. - Exactly. All right, how about this one from Mike Anderson, Shane. How many wins does Oklahoma need to make the playoff now that we know a little bit more about these teams? And so they're sitting here with four in one to get into the playoff. - They came, this is a nine and three team, Mike. We told you Tennessee was a loss, but it wasn't a beating. - Yeah. - And let's say Texas and Ole Miss are your next losses. And Mizzou turns their seats. I think it's kind of contingent on Mizzou, Alabama, LSU kind of being the top 10, you know, still be a dominant. But if you close out November with three wins against those teams, Oklahoma's getting in with nine and three. - Right, if Missouri, Alabama and LSU are all top 15. - Yeah. - And heck, Alabama, LSU could be top 10. How can you keep out of a team that just beat three top 15, top 10-ish type teams, you know? - You can't, you can't. And again, it's a lot of scenarios here, but that would be the only way that you could, you couldn't lose a game in November and get in with nine and three. But again, I see it as an opportunity they make in 10 and two, 11 and one. I mean, I'm not ruling any of that out right now because this is a football team that I feel like is getting better. For the last two weeks that we've seen them play, this is a program that is getting better. And yeah, I think we may have as a hell of a matchup Saturday. - Now we got a Texas question, Shane from BCS, Joseph, Joseph Moreno here. - Cool, cowboy hat, right? - Yeah. - He's very active on the Twitter machine. We appreciate you, Joseph. ♪ All all season I was told how easy this SCC schedule was ♪ ♪ The back half of our schedule includes Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Kentucky, A&M ♪ ♪ All four of those teams beat top 10 teams the last two weeks ♪ ♪ Is Texas schedule tougher than advertised ♪ And first of all, Shane, you can look it up. I've done many of these Texas shows. And then they laughed at me, Shane. They all laughed at me. I said, you better watch it. I never, I never threw Vanderbilt under this conversation. But I said, Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky, A&M, these are gonna be better teams that can beat you. So I was never one of these people. You could, I mean, there's so much videos and podcasts we've done. I've never said this is a joke of a schedule or anything, but I think he's just saying consensus is that we have heard that quite a bit. - Yeah. - But do you think the schedule is more difficult than perceived for Texas? - I do, I absolutely do. I think mainly on November 16th with Arkansas and even A&M, even though that's gonna be a rivalry and knew how great that game could be, but we didn't think that we'd be having a top 10 A&M, you know? So what does this team, you talk about a team improving, what does that team look like by the end of the year? So absolutely, Kentucky can get you a Vanderbilt, it's already upset several teams. This schedule is not as easy as we thought. - And I would go so far, Shane to say, so here's the schedule, Oklahoma, of course, in Dallas, George at home, at Vanderbilt, Florida at home, at Arkansas, Kentucky at home and at A&M. I'm not predicting this to happen, but I think if Texas were to lose to Oklahoma and Georgia, and then went out, I think their schedule's good enough to get them in at 10 and two, which I did not think that would necessarily be the case in the preseason. - That's a great point, Mike. We were afraid that this would be 11 and one team, kind of looking like half must win top situation going to the A&M game. So I think a 10 to two Texas now gets in for sure. - Mm-hmm. Well, Shane, before we move on, - Yeah. - Real quick here. Cousin RS here. Da-da-da-da, he says, "Shane, are you afraid of this logo?" (laughing) Do you fear the razorback show? You've lost four in a row to 'em. - Fear's a strong word, Mike. Here's the thing, if I didn't love the coach, you know? (laughing) Like, if we had smart ass leg kiffing out here, trolling me all week, then yes. I think I would hate them more and more, but part of me is seeing a program that was in Tennessee shoes. You know what I'm saying, Mike? - Yeah. - When I always think of Arkansas, I always think East and West, Arkansas was always the Tennessee of the West. You know, they had some glory years, they had some great runs, but they'd slipped into the dark days. I mean, there's been a lot of times, we've been drinking cold beers at the end of the bar together, watching all these other teams have fun and carry gold posts to the river or, you know, safely pull 'em down and saw 'em up, whatever. But I feel like this is the time that Arkansas needs. So yes, I would not say fear, but I do say I have a lot more respect for that damn logo, I'll tell you that. - And keep in mind, we were, we have been among the groups saying Arkansas is really good. And hell, there are a couple of plays away from being undefeated. So I don't think has quite as bad a loss as some are making it out to be. - No, I think Arkansas's a top five football team, so. - Speaking of that, Shane, we got another question here from Jackson Williams. Is Sam Pittman's job safe for another season after beating Tennessee? And I would love to say yes, Shane, 'cause we, again, we love saying Pittman we want him here. I think, and I mean, I think this is completely true, Shane. I think Arkansas this year, significantly better than last year. - Yeah. - And hell, even the year before. So it's kind of wild to see this guy's on a hot seat, but again, I get it 'cause they were losing, and hell, they lost two games, they could've easily won. These one possession games are killing 'em. But, so he's in a weird spot, but most coaches that are better than they were the last two years are not on the hot seat, but in all honesty, Shane, I don't think that wins saves him, or that's the wrong word. I don't think that guarantees he's back. - Yeah. - 'Cause if they lose to LSU and Ole Miss and Texas, I think the fans are gonna be like, all right, enough with this guy. We need to get a real coach in here. That's not me saying it, but I think he needs at least, you know, they need to go six and six. I think at six and six, he's back, seven and five certainly back, but another big win, I think he really needs here. - Well, the fact that they did knock off Tennessee, I think six, he's safe. - Yeah. - You know, if the six didn't involve a top five football team, then I would say, "Yeah, probably not." - Right. - But I think a seven is kind of that sweet spot. Eight would be ideal. You know, obviously Mississippi State Law Tech, you're looking at those as two more wins. So there you're at one, two, three, four, five, six, there's your six. I think one other big game, especially like a mazoo or an LSU, something like that, I feel a rival team, you know. - Right. - Any of them, Ole Miss, Texas, anyone, one other game guaranteed he's coming back. - Yeah, and remember, the question is, makes him safe. - Safe, he's safe. - I'm not bashing him, but-- - He's safe, he's safe. Just win the two games. I feel like he's safe. - Yeah. - Well, I don't know. I still think he's on a little bit of a hot seat, even if he goes six and six. Like, I think he'll be back, but it's not a given, if that makes sense. Now, if he beats LSU or Texas or Ole Miss, then I think he's safe as it can be. - Well, we're gonna find out, Mike. Don't be, don't be able to celebrate too long, you know. I know you got to buy a week and everything, but stay focused, you still got a tough schedule ahead of you. - Hey, how about this one from Cousin Rico. Appreciate you, Rico. - Hey, thanks, cousin. - Most authentic SEC content, I'm a hog. Arkansas, Texas, always the rivalry. I wish the Razorbacks consistently win. Then SEC fans would understand the Razorback program as a good program, but again, yeah. I mean, that's to the point I was just trying to make, yeah, I mean, again, fantastic win. That is far and away. The best win of the San Pitman era beating Tennessee at home with those great fans, got the Storm of the Field. Fantastic, but it just can't be a one-off in my mind. - Yeah, what a photo, Rico. You're showing off now. You're like, "Look, I got a glamour shot out here." I mean, could you imagine me with hair, Mike? And I would, you know, the first thing I would do, like if I instantly got in shape, you know, I would go to all these like fancy stores I couldn't buy stuff in. And man, I'd be probably, I'd be like GQ magazine, but unfortunately I like eating too much. - And we got one more from Jackson Williams. Shady, he wants to know, is Brian Kelly getting fired? - If they go eight and four. - No, I don't think so. So I would assume the losses would be Ole Miss, right? - Yeah. - A&M and then Alabama. I mean, again, I don't think he'd get fired, but I think his seat would really start heating up for next year. - What would have, like, I don't like, I mean, I don't like to do this, but I'm going to do it anyway. - Missing a bowl game would get him fired, period. - Yeah. - Anything above that, I think he's safe. - Hell, we had his best player come out here and said, 10 wins and it ain't good enough, remember? - Yeah. - Oh, yeah. - So we can't be sitting here saying eight and four, that's something to build on. You know what I mean? - Yeah. - Yeah, I mean, I think I put some squarely on the hot seat. - That's right, man. Family ain't going to handle that. - All right, how about this one from Gamecock, Zach? - Again, this is no if, he's saying, after, after South Carolina destroys Alabama. - Damn. - On the road this weekend, well, will Caitlin de Borde go on the hot seat? What do you think, Shayte, if Alabama gets destroyed, and really, it didn't even have to be destroyed, but even a one-point loss. Let's say they lose by one friggin' point at home to South Carolina, is Caitlin de Borde on the hot seat? - No, no. - De Borde is not getting fired. I'm gonna say this again. De Borde will not get fired. It'll take, maybe at the end of year two, if they win seven games or something like that, maybe he gets fired. But I'm telling you right now, Caitlin is safe. And what I would expect to happen, if it were to happen this season, is some sort of magical job opened up somewhere that he's, you know, an NFL opportunity, like you've talked about. Something along those lines. And I'll say he'll get the job, but I feel like that would be not a firing, but kind of a forced movement, if you will. - You're dead, Rog, saying fire his ass if he's losing to all these teams. He's gonna be on the hottest damn seat in the year. You thought Billy Napier is on the hot seat. If this guy's losing a Vanderbilt in South Carolina, his ass gonna get run by the end of the first year. - I get it, I totally get it. But, you know, Nick Saban has some ugly losses. It's his first year, so. - Yeah, he didn't inherit a national championship team, though. You know what? - Well, I mean, he just got some of the players. Some of them left, let's don't get, you know. - I've forgotten Shane. All right, how about this one from Key Sage is, what a name, what a name. - Cool. - So again, so some people, some, this is where we're at with fandom Shane. Some gamecocks are like, hey, when we whoop our ass, in Tuscaloosa, we will be firing the coach, right? Now, his question is, should South Carolina fire the offensive coordinator down a lot of hands? (both laughing) - I mean, it's not going too well. - Well, we've been trying to fire him since he got hired, you know. I feel like Shane has tried to convince us more that he's a good coach than Logins has convinced us that he's a good coach. So I'm not, again, I don't like, feels like we've turned into a firing podcast, Mike. - But I will say, if you're talking about weakness, it's a glaring weakness is the offensive production here. So, I mean, I'm not blaming beamer, but I am blaming who he's hired. - Yeah, yeah, that's squarely on him, you know what? - Yeah. - But yeah, I don't know-- - What was his name again? - Dow Logins? - No, the question-- - Oh, the keys, Sage is. - That's a fake name. (both laughing) - When he checks in a hotel. (both laughing) How about this one from Mike Drider. I hope I got that right. When do you think about Tennessee now? And I don't even know if he's being a, I don't think he's being a smart alec or anything that no emojis or anything like this, but honest assessment of Tennessee, you know, they may not be as elite at following that performance, but again, I'm not panicking here, Shane. Now, clearly, not their best performance. I mean, that's, any idiot could see that. Only scored 14 points, lost a football game, but, you know, the final six, they surrendered. - Yeah. - They just, they gave it to them. So again, the defense not, it's probably the worst outing for the defense too, and yet less than 20 points given up on the road to a very, very good offensive team, I think. But again, I'm not panicking here, Shane. I think Tennessee is still playoff caliber. I wouldn't pencil them in after that performance. They may not make it, and that wouldn't shun me. It's done me or anything. But I just think as the SEC, man, you're going to get caught at night on the road in this conference. - Yeah. - And I think Tennessee is one of the 10 best teams in the country. - Well, I think that's a good point, Mike, and one of my, I guess if you're looking at Tennessee, growing up, if you will, there were going to be some growing pains. You know, they went to two pretty wild environments, you know? Arkansas, that was the biggest fan base. They think they broke record or they're close to it with Tennessee was there. And damn, Oklahoma sure did everything they could to make, you know, Niko struggle a little bit. But now you're looking at the balls, having what four home games in a row. So if you're looking at maybe getting right, the schedule's set up pretty nicely for that, you know? But again, the forgiveness is over. Arkansas, everybody expected you to win. Alabama, Georgia, I always thought, hey, if they lost those two games, they still have an argument to get it to the college football playoffs. Well, now they've got to make up that mulligan. You know what I'm saying? So they're either going to do it with Alabama. They got to do it, Georgia, but they've also proved this week that they can't overlook these other squads. Vanderbilt's on there, Kentucky's on there, Florida. These are football teams that can beat you and have beat you in the past. - I think they can overlook you, Ted. That's a little. - Yeah, you did good. Yeah, you're safe there. - Hey, shout out pop goes the culture. You just became a member of the channel. - Oh, good life. - Yeah, welcome pop. Welcome to the family, brother. - Yeah, it's got a picture of everything. I mean, I'm like this. We're getting fancy. We've got pictures now. - All right, how about Matthew, who goes by Mizzou Navy on the Twitter machine? - Who's he like? - Mizzou has drink, lost the locker room. And what will it take for Drew Pine to take over at quarterback? What do you, again, this was another one Shane that they're just fully devastated, and I get it. 'Cause this was a game we all thought was a toss. Not all of us, but you and I certainly thought it was a toss up and that favored Missouri. And it certainly did not. So it has drink, lost the locker room here. - Kind of. - Oh, no. I would say, again, I just, I mean, we all saw it, and I know they get so pissed when I talk about it, but we saw him over here pouting on the sidelines, you know, but there's a lot of Mizzou fans pouting too. So I guess, you know, you got to realize that the emotions of that football game can be skewed based off a couple of photos or a couple of videos. So I don't want to say yes. In fact, I'm going to retract that. I'm going to say no. But it's pretty damn close, you know what I'm saying? This is a get right football game. And you know, it's probably good that it is in UMass. It's probably good that nobody's really going to go travel to that freaking game. Sorry, I'm trying to watch my language. This could be like a camp, you know what I'm saying? Get right, camp, you know, they need to have some, you know. - The whole blanket thing didn't help, did it? - No, no, it just gets, stop all that. Just get up there, you know, maybe do a little rafting on Thursday or something, you know, make a long weekend of it. But just kind of bring this group back together, right? Because that's why they played so well last year. And I feel like that's kind of what they missed is a little bit this team come on. There's, they don't need to be finger pointing. And I understand you want to get Drew in there. And maybe we get him a couple reps to see what he could do. But I don't think the quarterback controversy is what we need going into the, you know, the back half of this schedule. We need some leadership, we need some toughness. - Yeah. - I think that's desperately missing from a zoo right now. - Leadership, that's a good one, man. I think that's what we need. Did they have a players only meeting yet? I'm going to initiate that, you know? And whoever started it, that's my team leader. I don't need the best athlete on this football team to be the leader. I need a voice in that locker room telling these boys to get their shit together. - Mm hmm. All right, how about this one? Cousin Rickle, appreciate it. From cousin Jonathan, he says, if Texas A&M finished seven and one in SEC play, but they do not reach the SEC Championship game, do they make the playoff? - Oh yeah. - And I would go out on a limb and say, I don't care who it is, whether it's Texas A&M or Vanderbilt. If you go seven and one in SEC play, you are making the college football playoff. And I don't think that's even a bold statement, do you? - No, no, seven and one you're in for sure. I'm just trying to, so let's say it's Mississippi State, the worst of the SEC football teams you're still getting in. - Right. - And even if it's, they'd hate to hear this, but Texas, they're still in, I think, with all these other wins they have. - Well, that's the fun argument right there is that those teams are going to play back to back weeks. Have you heard that one? - Oh yeah. - A&M, Texas, two weeks to rest. It's gonna be like, Mira LSU, was it LSU in Alabama? They played in, played a football game, or was it an SEC championship? No, no, they played, they didn't go to the SEC and they went to the BCS and played each other again. So we may have some repeat games for sure. - Yeah, we've seen that from Georgia and Alabama over the years as well. All right, how about this one from, they're trying to throw up her schedule here. - From Kentucky Kenny, Shane. What do you think he's a fan of? All right, would Vanderbilt be our best win? - Oh shit. - Well, overall miss. - Oh no, no. Ole Miss was your best win, sorry. On the road to, you know what I'm saying, but I do appreciate the humor there. It's definitely the second best win. - He's definitely, Kentucky Kenny is a big fan of the term with and given, you know what? - Yeah, absolutely man, big game. - How about this one from Chad Johnson? Hope it's these. - Ocho, Ocho Cinco. - His name's Ocho Tex, so I don't think it's him, but I hope it is. Why has it an air raid or broils type offense won a championship? And the reason I bring this up, Shane, 'cause I just think it's a silly when people do stuff like this. That when they indict an entire, like obviously successful system. Let me ask you, who wins the National Championships? If you could only think of like, 'cause quite frankly, there's only about five of them. - Yeah. - It's Nick Saban. - Yeah. - It's Kirby Smart, Davos won a couple, Urban Meyer, and Harvall. - She got cheated, right? - Yeah. - So does that mean everybody else in the damn country is a failure? - No. - And if Nick Saban, if any of those guys I just referenced, if they win air raid, they'd win the National Championship too. You know, it's, it's, and what, again, art broils, I don't think this is, he's, I don't think he's a good person, clearly. There was a lot of shenanigans at Baylor, but what was Baylor before he got there? And what has Baylor been since he got there? - Yeah. - And how about these schools that are running these systems like Tennessee, what were they before Hyple, and what are the, I hate to say it, Shane? They'll probably go under when he leaves. What was old miss before Kiffin got there? And, you know, on and on and on. I mean, this is, this is just so stupid. Tennessee and Ole Miss now are competing at this elite level. Thanks in large part to these systems they're running now. So I don't know, I don't think you just indict it because they can't beat Nick Saban and Kirby Smart because I don't care if you run to the triple option, pro style, you know, whatever you wanna call it, 99% of teams are not beating. Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, Urban Meyer, and Sheaton asked Jim Harbaugh. - Well, right. I mean, you think about their best years and you put, I mean, that may think about some of them Bama receivers that they've had, you know what I'm saying? You think about, well, hell, LSU did a version of it, I guess you could argue. So I'm not saying that it can't happen either. I just feel like it's opportunity and national championships comes with a lot of lady luck as well. - Yeah, well, and, but really, the difference is talent. - Yeah, particularly in the trenches and that's what all these elite teams have had, you know what? - Yeah. - All right, how 'bout Mizzou Bill, Shane? - We just lost Ocho Sinko. - Sorry. (laughs) - I mean, I just think those types of questions are silly. If Billy Napier coached Alabama this year, what would their record be? If Billy Napier coached Alabama, give me 75. (laughs) - Shit. - If he coached, I would say they ain't beating Georgia. Oh, they're losing the Vanderbilt. - I'd say eight and four. - They're losing the Tennessee, LSU. Hell, I think you freeze might get 'em. - The problem was, USF probably would have been a closer game potential upset, you know what I'm saying? - Yep. - I think eight and four. I give me eight and four with 'em. Now how 'bout that, oh, this is really gonna burn 'em. How 'bout the same guy, Mizzou Bill? - Yeah. - What would Oklahoma's record be if they had Diego Pavia? - Oh, shit, undefeated. - Yeah. - Yeah, undefeated. I mean, that's all they, Tennessee, I mean, so what you want, Tennessee has an awesome defense, but a lot of that was 'cause they had nothing, no life, no sign of anything on the quarterback side. And we're starting to see it a little bit now. I think, I mean, hell, we saw a little bit of it in the second half of that Tennessee game, but I feel like if you had Pavia out there, yeah, you'd be undefeated. - Mm-hmm. Now here's another one, I kinda answered the-- - Can you go back to Auburn? 'Cause since we brought it up, what would Auburn's record be if they had old Pavia down there? This is your one, it's not mine. - I think they'd be five and one. - Five and one, I second that. - I don't think they would've beat Georgia. - But maybe, maybe if he helped, he'd just beat Alabama. You know what I mean? - Oh, I love it, I love it. - You first, did you hear him? He's down there saying they're already, they're already just poaching his roster. Did you see that? I wonder how many times-- Did you see Kirby after the game? Giving old Cam an extra hug, good job, brother. Good luck. Face time you later, calm you. (laughing) - All right, and I answered this guy on Twitter, but I'll answer him here, Shane. Christopher Powers. He's obviously a big mazoo guy. How can Missouri be frauds, an A&M now, an instant playoff lock for beating mazoo that you call frauds? - Nice. - Here's the deal, Shane. I mean, I don't know how you can literally have any other takeaway. And when we say frauds, I'll just be clear with this. I don't think Missouri is the championship team. I mean, how can you even suggest that based on anything we've seen this year? Again, Vanderbilt looks better. So, I mean, that win looks better, but it was that at home, Boston College, again, not that, I mean, they're like average. If Boston College was SEC, Shane, I mean, they'd be what, like 13, 14, 15, you know, I mean, they're not good. There's no belief after five games from me that Missouri is a playoff team, is there? I'm not saying they can't get there. I'm asking you after the five games we've seen, does that look like a top 10 team? - No, no, I mean, and I love Missouri. I think the schedule, we talked about this, it sets up nicely, even though you lost against A&M, but you still got some, you got UMass and Auburn, two very winnable games here. Get your shit together like I talked about, and then it gets, and then it gets daunting. The forgiveness is over, Alabama, Oklahoma, South Carolina, these are teams that, you know, two of them, I didn't think could beat you. Now I'm thinking, hey, man, this is gonna be a damn dog race, you know, with some of these guys. So I'm not saying mazoos out, and I wanna be clear on that, Mike, this could be a playoff team, but the way they've played the last two games, I don't see them as a playoff team, but that doesn't mean they can't bounce back. How many times did we, hell, we said that about A&M. I watched that, who did they play? You got A&M schedule, who was it boy? - Another Dame. - No, it was after Bowling Green. - Bowling Green. - Yeah, after that football game, I was like, there's no way A&M is a playoff team. But then we had the close win with Arkansas, and then the blowout against Mizzou. So, you know, late talks about this, you know, there's gonna be games where teams just catch fire, and I feel like Mizzou has the weapons to do that, you know? What would have, I don't like to play the if game, but what would have happened if we got the pass interference, and we scored on the opening drive? What happens if we would have hit Theo Weeks on that streak? Or if we didn't get that touchdown called back, there's a lot of what ifs could have happened, and maybe we took some of this crowd noise out of it, maybe we didn't have the off-side penalties, you know what I'm saying? The games are momentum, and I feel like there's part of me that says Mizzou could have stayed closer into that football game. It's just when they decided to give up by God they gave up. - Yeah, I don't buy it, Shane. I mean, they got completely dismantled by a 200-yard margin on the ground, and they had no pressure, no pressure on Wigman, who hadn't played in a month, over a month, I think, look like a damn Heisman winner, you know what I mean? That's the difference, and that's, when we say frauds, it doesn't mean you're, you know, the new Vanderbilt or the league or anything, but it means championship, and A&M's won five in a row, and they look better and better and better each week, and they look like they could beat anybody on their schedule last week, whereas Missouri, and keep in mind, we thought Missouri was gonna win this game, so that's, again, that compounds why one team is a fraud, and one team has proven to be legit, I think, and that's A&M, you think Connor's juicing. (both laughing) That's a fair question, it's a fair question. But again, if you take your Mizzou glasses off, I don't see how you can not have that reaction to that game. - But Mike, again, we just talked about 16 knocking off one. I don't think, after the games we've seen up to this point, remove just Mizzou, let's just say Team A, Team B, I don't see how you can just remove somebody from conversation of a college football playoff because of one loss, you know. - 'Cause I'm basing it on the five times I've watched them play this year. - I get it. - And they've not looked good on offense. - Sloppy wins, this still wins, you know what I'm saying? So maybe they just, as the schedule ramps up though. - I'm just saying, let's give them some time, let's don't just bury 'em just now, they're still, they still got a pulse, and you're throwing flowers on their grave already. - Jason said, they're not dog shit, they're more like cat shit. (laughing) All right, final one here from Cousin Trey. - There he is. - Always comes through with great questions for us. If you could go back before the season started, which coach/team would you tell yourself, danger, they suck, who would that be? Who would top your list of SEC teams that, danger, they suck, I don't think any team sucks. That's what, but Mizzou. (laughing) - Oh, I thought you, I was gonna go Auburn. - I knew Auburn sucked to begin with. I thought, I think the biggest surprise for me was the A&M bounce back, the Vanderbilt, you know. - Yeah. - But as far as a team that I'm really disappointed in, again, I'm not gave up on 'em, but I'm disappointed in 'em and they can all, they can fix it all, Mike. They can fix all of these problems if they just come out here and win. - I really wish I didn't buy in a Billy's bullshit here and pick 'em to beat Miami, pick 'em to beat A&M. Probably Florida for me. - Does it change your mind? I mean, that they have the longest winning streak in the SEC, or? (laughing) - Yeah, I mean, it's, no, no, it doesn't. Because again, if you go back and watch the tape, was my last two locks of the week here, was at least the weeks they played, was Florida over Central Florida, Florida over Mississippi State, 'cause those teams are not good. So even the fashion they beat them, was not really that impressive to me. - Okay. - Just being honest. All right, and then he's always got a food question. Well, he wants to ask me a drink question first, say this is his new thing. What alcoholic drink are you immediately turning down if offered? He's asking this to me. - Okay. - He's turned down much of anything, Shane. But there is one thing, I don't know if this quite counts for what he's asking. I have always hate gin. Do you like gin? - Yeah, I mean, it's a fun game, but-- - No, I'm just kidding. (laughing) - No, I don't taste like weird rubbing alcohol to me. - Yeah, I'm not a big shot guy. You know, I'd like, I'm beer. I'm pretty much a beer guy. Now, I will say this, Mike, if I'm five or six of those in, then I don't mind doing a couple of shots. - No, but-- - There's not one thing that you don't like, like a tequila, some people like hate tequila. - I don't like fruity drinks. I don't like something that you just like, you know, the whole time. I tried one of these canned fruit drinks or whatever, and it's just got this after taste. I'm not big on that. Plus, if you get too many, you talk about a terrible hangover, you know? - Yeah, oh, speaking of that, the worst hangover ever had in my life. - Yeah. - I don't think I'll ever do, well, ever is a strong word, but I went to a place that had bottomless mimosas. I mean, mimosas are delicious, man. - They are, they're good. - But they got, that's a lot of sugar. I didn't realize how much sugar you're, I mean, we must have 20 of those bad boys, you know? And yeah, it was a wild night, man. I brought, never in my life had I brought home a lady from the bar, it was literally one of those nights. And I just remember waking up and it was just nothing but regret for really about two days. - Oh, jeez. - So, that may be something I turned down as well. All right, so he's always got a food one for you, Shane. - Yeah, yeah. - Cardiologist gives you the thumbs up. - Okay. - What's the buffet that is going on your plate? - Buffet, you know, that's funny. I think buffets really have been struggling lately, Mike. - Yeah. - You know, I talked to you, you know, when I was younger, when the Ryan's came out, it was unreal steak was there and then golden, it's like competition. You have competition. I mean, only competition you had was showneys, you know? So, I mean, now it's just straight garbage. I'm just not a fan of either one. I know they'll never sponsor the show, but there are some good ones out there, Mike. And I don't know if you would consider this a slash, it does have buffet involved, but Texas Day, Brazil, down in Orlando, they got one in Memphis. It is a Brazilian steakhouse. Never been to one of those until I went to the one in Memphis. And fantastic. I mean, godly, you talk about, I couldn't, I was like, what is this magical place? They're bringing steak to my table as much as I want. Now, it is a little costly, but you have your coasters and you just keep it on green. I did realize their buffet is a little misleading. They want you up there to eat the cheeses and the clam chowder and all that stuff and get full by the time they bring the steak. So, you know a pro when they just avoid the buffet all together. You see me sitting over here with my green coaster saying, skip the chicken, skip the sausage, let's get to this thing. So, that would be, that would be my favorite, but over here in Newport, Tennessee, keep those boys in your thoughts and your prayers, but they got hillbilly barbecue over there. It's temporarily closed, but man, they, they've got it. You go up there, you pick your cuts of meat. So, it's a Texas style. So, I get a Texas brisket and I go up there and they give me my brisket, then I go to the buffet and it's like real vegetables. That's not like canned stuff. So, cream corn, top stuff and potatoes and everything. I mean, they do it right. So, whenever that place opens up, if you're in the town, make sure you swing by there and try it out. We, you know, we got to get you your own food podcast at some point here, Shane. - No, well, I see the casinos, you know, they used to have a real good one at Cherokee Casino. - That's what I was going to ask you, 'cause I know you like the casinos. Don't they, don't they have good food there? - No, it's not the same anymore. Now you kind of pick what you want and it's not, it's not like it used to be the good old days. - Yeah, I mean, have you been, I'm sure you've been to Vegas, right? It's been a long time since I've been, but they have, they have good stuff out there. - Long time since I've been to Vegas. So it's not fair because I've not been back out there, but I hear the wind's got a really nice one. - Yeah. - I would love to, buddy, don't get me wrong. This is my wife, don't fly and that's the trip. I can't say, honey, I'll be gone for the week. I'm going to Vegas. That ain't gonna fly. So, so we got to figure out some way to get over there, but once I do, yeah, maybe I do a-- - We need to cover the, the Vegas ball, the SEC team's playing it this year, I think. - Give me some reason. We got to get over there, Mike. - Because of Jeff says, Shane's bi-monthly mention of shonys. - Yeah, check, send the check. (laughing) - Oh God. - Shonys isn't bad. I mean, especially breakfast, I guess, if you're a breakfast guy, that's a good place to go to. But they're, you know, lunch dinner, you're just, I mean, I've seen nothing against, maybe you're shonys. Mine's a little questionable. You know, you see some of the cooks back there? You know, it's like, I don't know if I want to trust this one. (laughing) - He definitely didn't have gloves on. (laughing) - Well, I think that's a perfect place to end it, Shane. As always, don't forget my bookie, online sports book, promo code, that SEC, the double, your initial deposit. But unless you got anything else, brother, you get, that's all I got. - No, be sure to tune in tomorrow. We got our picks coming in, so we'll see who I locked down. You know, I've got a lot of people. They're begging me not to put it on there. But that, I tell you, that Red River looks very interesting, my. (laughing) - Yeah, so again, tomorrow night, seven o'clock Eastern, six central, Shane and I will be back to make our picks for these games. But that's gonna do it. Appreciate your brother. Appreciate each and every one of you for hanging out. We'll catch you on the next one. - All right, see you guys, no balls. - Hey, buddy, this beer's for you, Mike and Cousin Shane. That SEC podcast loves the pirate, and the pirate loves that SEC podcast. Hail State. [BLANK_AUDIO]
