Mount Horeb has switched legislative districts, in the wake of new maps signed into law by Governor Evers earlier this year. It's now in Assembly District 51, which stretches from Madison area suburbs in western Dane County in the east to the dairy farms of Lafayette County in the west. The new maps promise to make some state legislative districts more competitive. Including AD 51, which lost chunks of Richland and Green counties, but gained Mount Horeb in Dane County, where voters choose Democrats by a two-to-one margin. So how much do voters know about local elections? Are voters following the changed maps? Our reporting team headed out to Mount Horeb and Dodgeville in early September to speak with voters about their political awareness.
