U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten Visits Madison
The nation’s top education officials are on the road this week for their 2024 Back-To-School bus tour. This year’s theme? “Fighting for Public Education.”
The tour also spotlights U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona’s focus of the year: student achievement and academic competitiveness on the global scale.
They made several stops throughout Wisconsin, including Green Bay and Milwaukee.
And Deputy Secretary Cindy Marten came to Madison yesterday, visiting two MMSD schools and convening with local officials.
She told WORT News Producer Faye Parks today that the bilingual programming and holistic support at Madison schools are a model for educators throughout the nation.
