A MEMOIR OF PALESTINIAN LIFE

When Christa Bruhn launched her memoir, Crossing Borders: A Search for Dignity in Palestine, largely about her experiences in Israel and Palestine, she had no way of knowing that millions of people around the world would soon direct their attention to that same area only a few months later.
But Christa did not only write about her experiences as a tourist. She’s a scholar, a mother, a foodie, a lover of language and landscapes, of photography, of justice and peace…among so many more things. Her memoir is the retelling of her life and connection to Palestine and Palestinians through her observations, experiences, her mind and her heart.
And in sharing these, she shares the essence of the places and people she’s encountered in a deeply personal way, giving us a sense of connection to them as well as to her devotion to her quest for justice and peace.
She talked to Gil Halsted about her life, travels and writing her memoir on WORT’s World View on Sunday, July 21st. She also mentioned that her book is being reissued with information about the prizes it’s won, the most recent, the Grand Prize in Non-Fiction from the Independent Publishing Professionals Group. In the coming months she will also be working on the audiobook version.
