Alex Booker

The Madison Public Library's Naturalist-in-Residence program returns this year with a new focus on reconnecting with nature. Alex Booker, a Madison native with a passion for the environment, takes center stage in this year’s residency, titled “Find Your Way Back to Nature.” Running from July 15 to August 23, 2024, Booker's residency offers a series of enriching programs designed to deepen our connection with the natural world. Throughout the summer, Alex will lead ten events across various libraries and green spaces in Madison. These programs include nature walks, storytimes, and unique activities such as sound bathing and conversations with bugs. Each event is crafted to help participants reflect on their relationship with nature and learn more about their local environment. One of the highlights is the nature walk at Owen Conservation Park on July 30 and another at Turville Point Conservation Park on August 8. These walks offer a chance to explore the beauty of Madison’s natural spaces guided by a knowledgeable naturalist.  For more information and to sign up for events, visit the Madison Public Library’s website.
