Zara Chowdhary’s first book, The Lucky Ones has gotten remarkable attention from the American publishing world. It officially comes out on Tuesday, July 16th, which will be marked in Madison with a launch event at A Room of One’s Own bookstore on Atwood Avenue at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Zara, who has lived among us as a UW-Madison language lecturer, has narrated Indian history in The Lucky Ones as have many of our recent Indian interview subjects. But her story is also personal and relatable to all of us who are grappling with the current state of the world and human identities and relationships.
