Hey there everyone, this is your host Phil and welcome back to the show. Our next guest here today are Dr. Dana Laudato and Jason Higginbotham based out of Covington, Louisiana with their business called Research, Veterinarian, Surgical, Specialist, and Rehabilitation. How are you doing today? Doing well, how about you? Doing excellent, thank you for asking. So guys, tell us all a little bit more here about what you offer there and how you help people out. Well, we're a referral based practice. We focus mostly on surgery. We also have a neuro department. We do acupuncture. We have a pretty big rehab department. We have hyperbaric oxygen, and we also do platelet-rich plasma. But typically, like I said, it's going to be a referral based only, so go to your regular vet. They have a problem that they need to kind of ask for a little bit more help and guidance on and then you get referred over to us. Okay, how long have you guys been doing this all for? We opened our doors on January 4th, 2021, so right in the midst of all of the Covid experience. Must have been tough, but it sounds like you guys are thriving now. Yeah, yeah, we like to, we like to think so. There you go. So is it right in my thinking that you guys just do a lot of procedures that I guess other vets can't do or how does it work? Yeah, it's exactly right. So typically, primary veterinarians will do kind of the routine stuff. What we typically will do is like if a dog has a fractured leg, depending on the size of the dog, if they get an ACL injury. We also have people that will refer over, even if they do the surgery, something worth a pedic or neurologic, or even if a patient isn't something, have something surgical. Our rehab department definitely helps out with all of that and just overall, you know, mobility and dogs in general. Okay. And what led the ball for you to a career path like this? What got you started in this field? For me, the biggest thing was obviously, you know, it sounds cliche, but it's going to be for the, you know, just love the animals. The biggest thing is they have no, it's going to be challenging, but it's also very rewarding when you have the opportunity to help an animal heal from a severe injury and then just kind of, you know, wash and walk out. You know, we've done everything, like I said, from fractures, we've had severe burn patients and wound patients all the way to dogs that aren't able to use their legs and being able to get them back up and walking. So, and then Jason. Yeah, absolutely. I think it's kind of known between every veterinary medicine professional that our love for animals is kind of what has got us here, but each of us has a different, have a different goal when it comes to what we do, which is why Dr. Ladado and I work so well together with trying our best to get the patients comfortable and out of pain and living their best comfortable life. Hmm. Glad to hear it and I could tell you both love doing this. Absolutely. Definitely. All right. So if our listeners or anyone else wants to find out some more information about what you guys are doing or talk to you more, how do we reach out to you guys there? So, first of all, you can always go to our website, it's research.vet with a Z. You can always email us at research@research.vet or our phone number is 985-888-1059 and we have social media. And we have social media. Yeah, I'm doing TikToks. Okay. Sounds good. Well, guys, I want to thank you so much for joining us here today. I've been talking to us for a little while and I hope you both have a great rest of your day. All right, you too. Take care. To the rest of our listeners, stay right there. We'll be right back after this short break.
