[applause] [music] To that time of the season when the goals and goblins prowl, which is ride their broomsticks and bonnet wildcats howl, so scrape your claws together and make some chilling noise for your haunted wild gadders of spooky basketballs. [music] Boom, the boys are back and it is time for a whip around Friday as we get ready for K-State Colorado coming to you guys late tomorrow night. So we only got two segments this week. We have Cole Carmody from Go Power Cat giving us the K-State primer. I have a conversation with my guy Tofur from the Folsom Frenzy podcast to get a little Colorado point of view. I'll touch on some stuff from Connor Riley and Joe Clanderman's press conference. Then we'll end with a little basketball talk. We got the pre-season coaches poll, big 12 coaches poll, released today as I'm recording it, so we'll touch on that a little bit. I'm not going to spend a lot of time getting all my thoughts about the basketball schedule, getting their TV assignments. Lots of late night games at Utah game at 10 p.m. is going to suck and 9 p.m. game at Arizona State, lots and lots of ESPN Plus, lots of CBS Sports Network, but a lot of that's more niche stuff, like even more niche than I think the listeners want to know. So if you're really curious, let me know and I'll do an in-depth thought on some of the TV stuff for basketball, but I don't think you guys want me going to in-depth on that. We're going to get into it. Again, we'll start with Connor Riley's press conference, but before we do, how many schools across the country do you think have their local brewery doing a collaboration with the offensive line coach? I don't think many. I love Connor Riley and I love Manhattan Brewing Company. Look, it doesn't matter if you like something crisp and refreshing, something multi. Eventually it's going to be winter before you know it's something to warm you up. Do you like something sour? Are you a hotbed? Do you love your IPAs? It doesn't matter what sort of beer you like. I guarantee your new favorite beer is waiting for you over at Manhattan Brewing Company. If you're going to be in Manhattan, they're going to have the game going. They're going to have a watch party tomorrow night for K-State, Colorado down on Point Avenue at the flagship brewery location. If you're in Wichita, they're going to have it going on at the NBC Lounge as well. Always fun stuff going on in Manhattan, and now in Wichita, remember Wichita. All you Wichita folks, open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so get in there. Shout out to Manhattan Brewing Company, the best brewery in the state of Kansas. All right, Connor Riley, when he was asked like, "Hey, what concerns you? What's Colorado's defense? What are they going to do to give you guys trouble?" He gushed it, and look, Connor Riley did this. Joe Clanderman did this. The players did this. Chris Climan did this. Everyone giving praise on top of praise for Colorado. Nothing even, they never give bullets and board material, but nothing even close. Look, I think this is going to go down to the wire. I'm super nervous for this game again. I picked K-State to win by one point. I don't feel great about this game, but even if I did, even if I thought K-State was going to win by 20, I would not be boasting about it. I would not because, man, these Colorado shows, they will find something you said. They're going to take a clip. They're going to, they can turn a five second clip from someone doing a YouTube show and turn it into a full 30 minute episode of, "Oh, K-State fans disrespecting Colorado." It is nuts. My guy, Jimmy got got from Thursday Conversations. We recorded that before Colorado fans got him. Cole Carmody, who's giving the K-State Primer, he got got. Tim Fitzgerald got got. So really, if you're not heaping praise on Colorado, if you're not picking them to win, there's a chance you're going to get clipped and you're going to go viral on all of the Dion podcasts, all the Dion Twitter accounts. Oh, it has been crazy. And the coaching staff and players have not given them any ammunition. But again, Connor Riley gushing about how athletic Colorado's defense is and what they do, they do very well. And that really comes into man coverage, press coverage, talking about how they do play more man than anyone we're going to see this year. And it says really impressive how they have defensive backs you're going to get in your face. And when you watch the film, you see them all doing press coverage the exact same way, just gushing about the amount of talent they have, all the work they have, all that type of stuff. Talking about Travis Hunter, again, talking about how he's the best player in college football, talking about how athletic he is, talking about how beyond that when you watch the film, you can see how smart he is and how much he studies the game. Again, so much pressure of Travis Hunter, which again, he agrees. As a Heisman voter, you know, I can't say anything about my future ballot. But I'd be shocked if Travis Hunter isn't on said ballot. But you guys will have to ask me about that in January when I can disclose my full ballot. Said that it was, it's been a good week of practice so far. Said Monday was good. Said that had some issues on Tuesday, but it was cleaned up on Wednesday. Said that hey, really on Thursday. So yesterday's you guys are listening this. They practice after his press availability. Said that they have to have a clean, fast and confident practice mentioned and he took it head on and said, hey, we have not played our best football on the road and we need to figure it out because, you know, successful teams need to play better on the road. They need to perform on the road, which is 100% true. The final two things he touched on that I took away was again, a lot of praise, especially for the athleticism, the amount of activity you see from them in their front seven, because they do have an NFL style defense where it's a four three defense with four defensive backs and he says, hey, you get a lot of those NFL tendencies when you watch Colorado on defense. And that's something I don't remember looking here. I didn't put it in the didn't put it in Joe Clandermans, but he bullet points, but he talked about, you know, again, it looks like an NFL offense when you're playing Colorado as well. Keep in mind, again, you have Dion Sanders, Hall of Famer, Warren Saps, like the defensive tackle coach Hall of Famer. Both their coordinators are all like almost exclusively NFL guys. So of course, that's what they're trying to model their program after. And it is unique in this world of college football to see that. And we'll see if it works on Saturday. We'll see how it works beyond Saturday as well as we keep an eye on the big 12. But it really is a unique challenge coming off of this by week. Before we get to Joe Clanderman, we'll give a shout out to our other sponsor, Charlie Hustle, because again, you know, the middle of this show, there's two other folks talking. And I want to get our sponsors in here. First off, I love them. I love Charlie Hustle wearing something from their Kansas City baseball collection right now. Sure. Hope that the Royals are able to get game four. Or you guys are screaming at, you know, at your earbuds right now, me bringing it up. I was at game three. I was rocking some Charlie Hustle gear. I saw Charlie Hustle all over the K, all over the parking lot. It truly is a fashion staple here in Kansas City. You can't go to Kaufmann. You can't go to Arrowhead. You can't go down the street to your local, you know, bar. You can't go anywhere without seeing Charlie Hustle. They're truly the best. It's so comfortable. It's so stylish. And remember, they have officially licensed K-State gear. It's the best gear in the world. Before you know it, we're going to be moving from spooky season to Christmas season. And you got to get your shopping done early. So be on the lookout what you like over at Charlie Hustle for gift-giving occasion. Charlie Hustle, vintage made fresh. Plus, we have our giveaway coming here in a couple weeks for the podcast. We're giving away K-State t-shirts every single month. Thanks to our friends over at Charlie Hustle. All right, Joe Clanderman, again, a ton of price for St. Louis Sanders. Talking about how he's smart, accurate. He sets his own protections. He understands match-ups. He's a heck of a football player. A lot of praise for him. And as he's able to keep plays alive scrambling, he says, "Hey, he's maybe not going to take off and run for a bunch of yards." But a lot of their explosive plays come from when he's scrambling, keeping plays alive, which is very true. You're going to have to keep your lanes going to have to keep him in the pocket and make it count when you get the shot. It was a pretty funny moment. He was asked about Chop's Hunter, and he goes, "Man, I really was hoping he was just going to play corner this year." And then he laughed, and he was having a good time. Talked about how 50-50 balls on either side are not truly 50-50 balls when he's involved. Talked about how he's a hard competitor. He's going to go up and get those if it's in the vicinity. Lots of praise for him. Also said that, "Hey, look, Colorado is not a one-pony show. They have a whole crew of wide receivers." And four guys, all of which could be NFL type guys, which is true. And then he did say, "Hey, it is a big thing, and it's a good thing that Uso's coming back." He gave some praise for Asher and Malcolm Alcorn Crowder. Said both those guys had a good week of practices during the bi-week. But he says, "The Uso can give you is really important in these pump to have him back." So it sounds like Uso will be playing on Saturday. As we figured after Chris Cleiman's presser on Monday, but we're getting that confirmation from Joe Clanderman. That's all my takeaways from the press conferences. We're going to get to Cole Carmody and then, like I said, my episode, mini episode with Tofer from the Folsom Frenzy podcast. And then we'll end with just a little bit of basketball talk. So, again, shout out to our sponsors, Manhattan Brewing Company and Charlie Hessel. And let's get to our friend, Cole, followed by our guide to Tofer. At Sierra, I discovered top workout gear at incredible prices, which might lead to another discovery. Your headphones haven't been connected this whole time. Awkward. Discover top brands at unexpectedly low prices. Sierra, let's get moving. What's up, boneheads? This is Cole Carmody from GoPowerCat.com. Special shout out to Scott for letting me do the Colorado Primer this week. Kansas State gets set to head to Boulder to take on the buff lows. And honestly, what I think is one of the most intriguing games of the season. We preview that every single Friday on the Friday walkthrough over at GoPowerCat's YouTube channel. If you're interested in that, you can also check out the Kansas State Insiders, which last week, Scott was on. It's a great show. We do it live every single Monday night. So, after Kansas State, hopefully beats Colorado head on over to GoPowerCat's YouTube channel. And you'll hear me. You'll hear my boss, Tim, for showed Ryan Goodward, and every week a rotating special media guest. Let's go ahead and get into this game because I feel like, like I mentioned earlier, this is going to be one of the best games of the weekend. Not just in the Big 12, but in the entire country. And the question really becomes, can Kansas State maintain their success? After thumping Oklahoma State, they had a bi-week, and very similar for Colorado. Thumping UCF, they head into a bi-week. And I look at this, and there's a few storylines that I want to touch on. But the biggest one, I want to look at deals with the buff lows. I made this analogy on one of my shows earlier in the week, but it really feels like, for those of you who are gamblers out there, not that there's any gamblers amongst the boneheads, but if there are, we all have a friend who we know that whenever they are going good, they just sit at the table until they're not. Maybe that's you. But maybe you're the kind of person who, if I'm being totally honest, is kind of like myself. I like to quit while I'm ahead. And it kind of feels like, with Colorado right now, that they are quitting while they are ahead. They absolutely destroyed UCF. And I think we're starting to find out that maybe UCF might not be as good. As they're preseason expectations. So it's Colorado, the type to quit while they're ahead, to then come back to the table and absolutely blow through all their cards, blow through all their money and lose, or lay the type to come back, and they still have that momentum. How many times do we see it? Where gamblers come back and they have no momentum, no momentum, and they just absolutely lose. Now I understand football and gambling are completely different. But it feels like the public perception around this Colorado team right now is that they have a great chance to beat Kansas State. I'm not saying that they don't have a good chance to beat Kansas State, but I think that Kansas State is favored for a reason, and is in the driver's seat. I look at this team right now, and I look what they did against Oklahoma State, and it's not who they beat. It's just kind of how they did it. I understand Oklahoma State has kind of gone in the gutters, and whenever things are in the gutters for Mike Gundy, it never tends to end well in still water. But this Kansas State team just absolutely annihilated Oklahoma State. They did it by way of their defense. They did it by way of their running game, and they did it by way of their quarterback. And number two, Avery Johnson. I look at what Avery did against Oklahoma State, rushing the football, throwing the deep pass. Chase Brown obviously had a big time catch down the field for this team. I think that Kansas State is going to have to be able to run the football, and we'll get into that momentarily. But those are the two storylines I look at with this game. Can Colorado continue to ride? It's a wave of momentum by what we anticipate to be a very hostile crowd. Colorado fans have been extremely loud this week, not just on my podcast, but of every single feels like media person's podcast. There's always Colorado fans that have to make their voices heard. So we'll see if that continues. We'll see how rowdy the crowd is in Boulder. It should be a great crowd. It's going to be a 9-15 kick. Everybody's going to have all day to tailgate, where they could load up on ice cream and ice cream only. There's going to be a little bit more than just ice cream in the rotation for the Boulder tailgates. As for Kansas State, a little bit of news came out of Chris Klimann's press conference on Monday, and that is that it sounds like Uso Seamalu will be ready to play at least a few snaps for this football team. Uso got hurt late fourth quarter. A lot of fans were wondering maybe why Uso was still in the game. Obviously Damian Alavios taking a majority of the reps at Nosed guard this season. It's been very good. But Uso has started to play better. And it sounds like Uso will be ready to play after, I think, initially feared might be a season ending near injury. He sure sounds like Kansas State avoided the worst with that injury. And so Uso is the big headliner when it comes to the injury front. Braden Lofton still a ways away. We're not sure. He probably won't play against Colorado. Maybe another week or two as it relates to Lofton. So expect to see Garrett Oakley, another guy who's starting to get healthy. I anticipate big things from the Kansas State tight end room with or without Braden Lofton. But as it comes to injury news, getting Uso back very big for this football team. Now, if we actually look at the exes and nose of this game, I'm fascinated because it really feels like if this was a seven on seven contest, then Colorado would win. But football is not played with flags. You have to hit and you have to be strong on the interior offensive and defensive lines. And so when I look at some players who are going to have a huge impact on this game, I'll start on the Kansas State side. And I'm just going to use a unit. And I'm going to say the Kansas State offensive line. I think they have an opportunity to dominate up front. Colorado has been notorious the past two seasons for not being able to stop the run and not being able to run the ball. Well, last week they did a better job at being able to stop the run against the UCF Golden Knights. And the first thing was they were ahead by so much that UCF couldn't really run the ball. They had to throw the ball. And so I think Kansas State has a great opportunity with that offensive line. If there's one guy in particular along that front that I want to watch, it's going to be the left tackle, Easton Guilty, how he's able to protect the blind side of Avery Johnson and make sure that nobody is able to get around him, which will then honestly force Avery Johnson to stay in the pocket or on scramble drills. That will help Avery out tremendously, I think the offensive line along with being able to run the football. Keeping the pastor upright obviously is going to be a big thing anytime you play on the road. That's a major story. But I look for this Kansas State offensive line as a unit. If they are good, this Kansas State offense will be good. And if this Kansas State offense can score points, I feel very confident the Wildcats will walk out of Boulder with the victory. Obviously on the other side, you have to look at Travis Hunter, who without a doubt should be the Heisman Trophy winner, the offensive receiver, the defensive cornerback. Travis Hunter has been absolutely phenomenal. How does Kansas State want to guard him on offense? Do they want to bracket him with Jacob Parrish in a safety over the top? Do they want to go man on man? If they go man on man, does Keenan Garber follow him? Does Jacob Parrish follow him? Do we just kind of have our corner stay on one side of the field? It will be fascinating to see. I'm happy I'm not Joe Clareman. But Travis Hunter obviously is a player to watch, should do her standards of course. But I look at Travis Hunter and if you can limit Travis Hunter just a little bit, they're going to have a very good chance to win this game. No doubt Colorado has a lot of playmakers on the outside. Travis Hunter is far from the only one. But he is their main guy. That's the guy they want to get the ball to. So as far as a victory for Kansas State, I think it's going to be how can you run the football and how can you limit Travis Hunter? If you can run the football successfully, Kansas State runs the ball for 200 yards. You're going to win. Simple. If they run the ball for 150 yards, they might win. But if DJ Giddens can have a DJ Giddens game and Avery Johnson can get out of the pocket, use his legs to extend plays and either throw the ball down the field or take off in Scramble, then I feel very confident for this Kansas State offense. As far as the defense goes, if you are able to limit Travis Hunter, now you understand that Travis Hunter is going to have 75 yards receiving. But if you can limit it, much like they did with McMillan, to underneath routes and you don't get beat over the top, you feel very confident that you will be able to limit this Colorado offense. They are going to throw the football. They're going to get yards. But how do you play in the red zone? To me, if Kansas State can bow its neck in the red zone, find a way to force Colorado to kick field goals instead of scoring touchdowns, then that is going to be the difference in the game. Can Kansas State score in the red zone and can Kansas State stop Colorado in the red zone? I anticipate this to be a high scoring game. I anticipate this to be a close game, but I anticipate this to be a high scoring game. And the biggest difference is if Kansas State can score touchdowns and Colorado kicks field goals, it's basic math. Seven is better than three. Kansas State will walk away with a victory. I am a little worried about Schitter Sanders. There's no question about it. But I really believe that Kansas State has a great opportunity to win this game. There's going to be a lot of smack talking. There's going to be a lot of energy in the building. There's going to be a lot of eyes on Kansas State and Colorado. But with Wildcats walk away victorious, I truly believe that they will. I haven't decided on a score yet as I record this on Tuesday. There's a few bigger days, a few bigger games. By the time you're listening to this, the Royals might even be in the ALCS. Who knows? But there's a few bigger games, a few days to go. I will go ahead and give a score prediction because Scott asked me. And I just love to make Scott happy. So I'll say that Kansas State wins this game 38 to 30. I think this is going to be a high scoring game. I think this is going to be a close game. I do think Kansas State will cover the spread. And I think the Wildcats will walk away five in one in control of the Big 12 with the rest of the conference looking up and saying that is the team that we have to be. Kansas State will be Colorado. It'll be a fun game. It'll be a late night, Big 12 after dark. But I'm here for it. Here for it. Thanks Scott for having me on to do this week's Primer on the Bosco's Boys. Take care, everyone. Enjoy the game on Saturday, wherever you may be. Drink some coffee. Stay up late. Have fun. It's going to be a great. With Uber Reserve, good things come to those who plan ahead. Family vacay? We got my guy Tofer from the Folsom Frenzy podcast. We had some of his co-hosts on during the summer school edition. I'm glad to get. I believe now I've had, man, did I have two or three. I might just be missing one of your guys's co-hosts. So it might need to manufacture a reason to get him on. Tofer, how are you doing? And how has the season gone so far? I imagine as low as that Nebraska game was for you, this, you know, what is it? Two and O start and the big 12 has to have you feeling pretty good. Let me just say this has been one of the most exciting times to be a boss fan, right? Like coming from the depths of hell that was 2022 to getting coach prime, to seeing us win the first two games back in the big 12. It's a movie. It's a movie. But the season has been great so far. I mean, like you said, other than the Nebraska and I think that was one where we had a wake up call. I thought a lot of us saw the cracks in the hole against North Dakota state where we weren't quite defensively tight or we missed a couple throws or our old line was showing cracks. There was some pressure for ship door. And then Nebraska just came in and absolutely exposed us. I do think Nebraska has one of the best D lines in the country. So give them credit where credits do. But watching that Baylor miracle was one of the best moments of being a CU fan. I can remember in my living memory. I sit in the upper section towards the end zone where they caught it. My voice died. It was awesome. Now the biggest surprise is how we handled business at UCF. And from that, the biggest story is the fact that we figured out how to run the ball. And the biggest thing that we kind of added to that is we hadn't really had a tight end that we could go to. That was reliable and blocking that could also be kind of an outlet. So if we threw a tight end out there is kind of an obvious tell that we were running. So we tried to get away from that, tried to run the ball without a tight end. That didn't work at all. And we have scale smalls that has kind of come into itself a little bit. Kind of been an outlet, not a huge receiving threat, but we can go out there, run some play action. He can find soft spots in the zone, should or is okay with getting it to him. And he's able to get the rock down the field just a little bit. And that's all we need from our tight ends. It helps us set the edge, helps us in our past blocking. And that's really what leveled up our offense on that end. As much talent and explosion that we have on our end, though, the thing that we are most proud of is our defense, holding Mully, do they fly around? Those linebackers bring the hits every single time. For UK state fans that are going to be watching, be watching number 41 because he has a nose to find the football. Number 20, he has a nose to find the football. And if you're running between the tackles, you guys definitely have to have block schemes to get in their way or slow them down. Otherwise, they are going to have a lot of tackles right at the line of scrimmage, if not a little bit in the back field. I love that you called those guys out because I believe, you know, everyone in the nation knows Travis Hunter. Everyone in the nation knows for their Sanders. And it sounds like Shiloh is going to get ready to play as well. But I like you, you know, calling out those guys who maybe don't get enough of that shine. So we got those guys on defense. Who are some guys on offense that again, you know, everyone knows, you know, the 99 overalls if you're playing the NCAA football game. But who are some other guys at KSA fans need to be, you know, zeroing in on the offensive side of the ball for Colorado. Absolutely. Our wide receiver core is probably one of the deepest that I've seen ever being a fan of the bus. I think we legitimately all of our starters, I think, will be playing on Sundays. So the one that has shown the most and had the most production this far outside of Travis Hunter, obviously, is the John T. He is a speed demon and he just has a nose for the football. He was the one that caught that miracle against Baylor. And at any given moment, if Shador has time, he could find him and he'll make something out of nothing. Jimmy Horn Jr. He is probably one of the fastest guys on the team. He can just fly. I think you saw a couple of his highlights in North Dakota State. He had a really long touchdown. And he added like what looked like track speed to me this season. So that's definitely someone you got to watch out for. And then we have the transfer from Vanderbilt who hadn't had a good game until he got to the UCF game where he had that incredible diving catch over the safety. Vanderbilt fans have told us that we have a player that this guy is for real that he just needs to come into himself. And after the way he showed out, he had four receptions, 99 yards and a touchdown against UCF. I'm starting to believe it a little bit. There's just so many weapons on our offensive passing game that just makes us tough to guard. But with that, like if that's only true if Shador has time, right? A lot of the ways we make people pay is allow those long developing routes to get open downfield. We don't really love a lot of the quick game, even though I think we should utilize it more. But those are the names to watch out on for an offense. Our run game so far, we kind of have a back by committee. We have a transfer from Ohio State down in Hayden who's shown ability to break tackles, ability to take on contact. He hasn't had a huge productive game, but he's shown explosiveness in the times he has touched the ball. Michael Welch is a true freshman. He did hurt his hamstring against UCF. I don't know if he's going to be active for this Saturday. He shows bursts if he can get into the open field where he just reads really well and how to move to get to those open space. And then we have Isaiah Gustave, who has the least amount of carries, but the most amount of rush yards for us this season, which is a kind of weird dichotomy. I just feel like, you know, as someone that plays college football, I'd be like, why are we not feeding him the ball more? But this is the mystery of Pat Sherman and having an offensive coordinator that runs that pro style offense. I really think you got to shut down the pass game if you want a chance to slow down the CU offense. There are moments where we look like one of the most productive offenses in the nation and there are the moments. And that's when we get behind the chains and get sacked a couple of times where we just look absolutely incompetent. So, so when you look at the two wins, obviously, similar to, you know, anyone listening to this, go back and listen to your guys episode where I came on with you. But does the UCF game lose much shine seeing kind of how that game versus Florida the next week went and, you know, seeing, you know, how, how they had to have this massive comeback versus TCU who's really struggling and seeing what Baylor's doing. Or is it like, Hey, two when I was two and I went in college football games are tough. How do you balance that out and how are Colorado fans balancing that out. That is a great question. I think if you listen to our podcast, you can see the host kind of take different sides on that. I'm more of the camp of we're two and oh, and I, and to my death bed, we beat a really good UCF team. Chase is on the camp of UCF hadn't played anybody and almost lost to a really bad TCU team who lost to Houston. So let's not get overexcited. I do think UCF is kind of has the wheels falling off in their program right now after losing to Colorado like that. They have guys red sharing. They have guys hitting the portal in the middle of the season. So, I don't think UCF this week is the same UCF team that Colorado faced. And I think if UCF had beaten Colorado would be a very different trajectory. With that being said, right, like there is a grain of salt. They played New Hampshire and beat him and it's like great. That's an FCS school. You're supposed to beat the breaks off of them. And so it we take it with a grain of salt. I still think it's pretty impressive that we went down to Florida and played that way and what on our end, regardless the opponent, I thought we were disciplined. I thought we showed creativity and the play calling. I thought we came and played sound defense as far as assignments are concerned and those are things that translate week to week regardless of opponent. All right, I want you to pay two different pictures for me and then I'm going to ask for your score prediction. First, paint me a picture in which case state is victorious. What happens for that result? And then on the flip side, if Colorado is going to come away with a win and go to three and know what does that game look like. Yeah, so I think this comes down to how well case state can run the football. I've been very impressed with the Colorado run defense up to this point in the season. I mean, we gave up a couple yards to North Dakota State in the biggest weekends. We can as for this defense has been running quarterbacks, which Avery Johnson happens to be exactly that. So a situation where case state wins is where we don't figure out a way to slow down Avery Johnson, where our QB spies are not good enough at letting him get out the edge and run for 25 yards every time drops back to pass. I don't think Avery Johnson is going to have a very good game throwing the ball against the secondary, but I do think he's going to have a field day running for a bazillion yards. I'm a long time fan and I know there's a couple years ago when Cleo Tate from Arizona came in and literally rushed for I think 300 yards and four touchdowns against us. So that is a situation I could see happening where our defense just forgets how to account for the quarterback and then he runs for a bazillion yards bunch of touchdowns. And that just opens up, you know, you're running back game and all that kind of stuff. That's what I'm scared of as a CU fan. I also think if the defense forces any sort of turnovers, that could be a little bit concerning for us as well. All right, so if you guys, if you guys get the win, what does that look like? Is it just Heisman trophy campaigns for a couple guys and picking Avery Johnson off or how do you see it going if you guys are going to win. How I see guests going so I think that if we are to win, we have to come out and we have to run the football the same way we did effectively against UCF. And so that's going to be a lot of counters, a lot of powers using that tight end pulling that tight end across and making sure we are engaging our blocks to open up those holes. Number two, I think Shador has to throw touchdowns to people outside of Travis Hunter. I think Travis Hunter is really going to get a lot of attention. And I think we have the talent to be able to distribute that. And then defensively, we have to find a way to keep Avery Johnson in the pocket. If we make him prove himself as a passer, like if he beats us as a passer, I'm, I'm just going to tip my cap to him. But if we take away the best part of his game, which is his legs, and he beats us that way, that'd be fine, but I don't think that's going to happen. So we have to take away Avery Johnson's legs. And I think the bus will pull out of victory. All right, give me your final score prediction and any other fun predictions you want to throw onto the game. Listen, I've been to a lot of games in Folsom that kicked off at 8pm and just about every single one have gone to double over time. So, yeah, that's the worst. I will not get home until 2am because I live an hour from Folsom. But I think this goes to a double overtime and give me the buffs converting a two point conversion and double overtime. And it will end up being 40 to 38. Man, oh, man, I don't love the overtime. I don't love the final score, but it's funny how we both kind of have two point conversions playing a role in our predictions. Again, if anyone, if anyone wants to hear what I have to say, make sure you go over to Folsom frenzy. Hey, plug everything you guys got going on. And again, I want to give your show so much love because you got, you're just a bunch of guys who love the buffs. You were there before prime. If prime left tomorrow, you guys are still going to be there. And I think that says a lot about you guys as fans. So please plug anything on your personal accounts, anything for your show accounts. And just let the bone heads here, everything that you want to sell them. Yeah, if you want to follow us at the Folsom frenzy podcast on Twitter, or any of your podcast feeds, you can also find us on YouTube. We're trying to grow our YouTube page once we get to that 1000 subscribers, we can start doing live post game shows and stuff like that. And that would be fun. We also love the trash talk. So if you want to tweet at the Folsom frenzy podcast after, you know, you win or during the game, we love it. We love the engagement. What we love about being back in the Big 12 is we have a conference of fan bases that actually care about football, which is super exciting for us. Awesome. I love it. So if everything goes as planned, the next thing you guys are going to be hearing are our friends over at the raspy boys kids, giving us the big 12 game of the week preview. I personally think big 12 game of the week is K State Colorado, but we don't need three different people talking about that show. So we'll get a little West Virginia Iowa state talk before I come back in and touch on men's and women's basketball. And we call it a day. So all our friends are at Folsom frenzy and Topher. Thank you so much. And let's do it again this time next year. What do you say? Sounds like a plan. I'm really like the guys over at the Folsom Frenzy podcast. We're going to end talking a little bit about men's basketball. The preseason poll was released. In case state is at 8th, a few points, just two points behind Texas Tech, seven points behind Cincinnati, and Cincinnati, Texas Tech, they're really a grouping of three. State is what about 17 points in front of BYU, who is 26 points away from TCU. BYU is kind of in a tier of their own. From the top, it's KU Houston, Iowa State, Baylor, Arizona, Cincinnati, Texas Tech, K State, BYU, TCU, UCF, Arizona State, West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Colorado, and Utah. Look, again, there is some obvious tiering. KU Houston, KU and Houston really are in a tier of their own. Iowa State, Baylor, Arizona, they're really in a tier of their own. And then you got Cincinnati, Texas Tech, K State, and then BYU, really is that cut off, I think, of teams who have aspirations of getting to the tournament and feeling like they can get it done. Look, I'm going to say this. I don't know if it's going to be popular. And the funny thing is, the funny thing is, is I am 100% sure. I'm 100% sure that the basketball staff would probably agree with what I'm about to say. But they're going to be pissed if they listen, that I'm going to say it. If they finish 8th, I think this would be a failure. And now, look, I think finishing 8th, you can get to the NCAA tournament. 100% you can in this new big 12. It's insane. Honestly, the conference is insane. But all the talk off season about how much they spent on this roster. And again, because of college basketball, we're never going to truly know. There's no transparency. But the staff hasn't shied away from talking about how much, you know, NIL has played a part in things. Jerome Tang has said it in interviews. The folks closest to Jerome Tang, whether it's well-known internet personalities, whether it's some of the media that are closest with them, they don't shy away from it. They don't say that's not quite true. And guys like Jeff Goodman in a different podcast, national podcast talk about K-State being, you know, a top 5, top 6, top 10 spender in college basketball for this upcoming season. And if that is all true, and again, we're not going to know, but I'm going to operate under the idea that it's true until someone tells me it's differently. If you're finishing 8th place, that's going to be disappointing. That is going to be very disappointing if you finish 8th place. Hopefully, if you're finishing 8th place in the big 12, hopefully the conference lives up to the hype. And that's going to be, you know, easily into the in the NCAA tournament. And a second weekend finish cures all ailments. If Jerome Tang gets to the Sweet 16 this year becoming the first coach since Jack Hartman to get a second trip to the second weekend, something long Krueger never did, something Dana Altman never did, something that Frank Martin never did, something that Bruce Weber never did. That cures any sort of disappointment from the regular season. And there's no doubt that there's no scenario. There's no scenario in which the team is healthy and you don't have issues off the court and you lose key contributors like last season where you had injuries, you had loss of Naquan Tomlin to something off the floor. It won't make the regular season any less disappointing, but it saves the season from being a failure if you get to the second weekend. It can be a disappointing regular season and the season isn't necessarily going to be a failure. So I'm not going to be sitting here, you know, saying, "Oh, man, K-State finished 8th and I'm melting down and saying, "Oh, it's a failure." Despite them getting to the Sweet 16, no, I'm not going to do that, but it's going to be disappointing. I'm hoping that the financial investment in this team and I'm hoping that some of the quality that we believe is on this team is going to be enough where you're talking not finishing 8th, but you're talking about maybe finishing top 5. And I think the basketball staff agrees with it, and look, I don't know if any of them listen to this show, but if they do, I'm sure they don't like me frankly saying that, "Hey, 8th place would be a disappointment." And depending on how postseason goes, it could be a failure of a season. But I think that the level of investment, they're asking the fans to make in them emotionally. I think the amount of investment that's been made into the staff and into the NIL efforts financially is deserving of high expectations and some pressure to meet those expectations. So I think they will finish better than that. Again, I truly do think they're going to be around that top 5. Again, KU, Houston, Baylor, Arizona, they're all going to be tough. I think there's a world Iowa State really comes back to the fray. So maybe saying top 5, again, even if those teams all live up to their preseason expectations, top 5 might be tough. But again, I think that you should not be finishing behind Cincinnati. You should not be finishing behind Texas Tech if the amount of investment into this team is true. So we'll see what happens. The only guy who received preseason love on the all conference teams was Coleman Hawkins. He was a second team, all big 12 selection in the co newcomer of the year, which is weird because I think Doug McDaniel might be the better of those players. But again, Coleman Hawkins, he has his own podcast with the field of 68. He is one of, if not the most visible players in the new big 12. I think it's him and 100 Dickinson are the two most known, two most visible players on this team. So it's going to be a massive one, folks. I think this is a very real basketball season that has high expectations and there should be a lot of pressure on this team to perform. So that's my stance on it. I know a lot of people probably will disagree. I think a lot of people probably won't like that I'm drawing a line in the sand before the ball even goes up. But again, the amount of investment that's been asked from Casey athletics from the fans and from the donors. It needs to be better than eighth place. It needs to be better than, you know, getting to the tournament as a 10 seed, which that probably would be given the new big 12 or God forbid sweating things out on selection Sunday. The investment in this team is deserving of more than that. So we'll see what happens. That's all we have. Again, we're getting dangerously close to basketball exhibition games. I'm pumped for it. We're getting close to regular season basketball. Casey women have four nationally broadcast TV showcase games during conference play, so high expectations for them as well. And again, everything I just said about Jerome Tang and the pressure, he should be feeling. Jeff Mitty and his team needs to be feeling feeling good as well. They need to be if they don't cut down the nets for a conference championship, they need to be in it into the final couple weeks and they need to be getting to the second weekend. It's not a second weekend isn't something that can salvage things. That's the baseline minimum expectation for this team. So lots of high expectations going into basketball season. I'm pumped for it. Let me know your expectations. Let me know if you would be OK with an eighth place finish. Let me know what your baseline for it to be a successful regular season would be. That's all we have. Again, we'll be back on Monday with a game review from the Colorado game. Tuesday, we will be doing the Q&A. Wednesday, we'll start getting ready for a trip out to West Virginia.
