[Music] Good morning, and welcome in to the Captain J. Good Morning Show on ESPN 1000. And streaming on the ESPN Chicago app with David Kaplan, Jonathan Hood with you. We'll hear from Courtney Cronin from London coming up at 8.35 with the latest on the Bears, but first shot and no shot. But his white English dean, here's Shay Norlin. Excuse me. [Laughter] My, my what? [Laughter] They're white English too. Is that the answer wearing? Good morning boys. On a bear's Friday. That's what keeps it. [Laughter] What? How about that, Cap? I loved it. His white English dean, you love him? No. You fight around with him. No, no, just said he's... Cap, it's game five. How about this? A little tiger, a little Cleveland Guardian? Careful now. And guess what? He showed me the picture of him and his mom and his dad at the game the other day in Detroit. Yes. And the fact that this dude's going to get up in the morning, he is going to do the Chicago College tailgate with Tyler Aki. And then he's getting in the car immediately and driving to Cleveland. And he bought three tickets and he's taking his parents to the game. I think that I told Shay. He and I over the last two and a half years he's been with us have developed this really good relationship. He went up 80 levels in my book. That is such a great move. He's going to take pictures. He's going to be with his family. Dude, take it from a guy who does not have either parent left. My brother and I would love to take my mom and dad to a game. Can't treasure the freaking memories, man. You know, none of us know what's around the corner good or bad. What you're doing tomorrow? Shay Norling, that is spectacular. And if you don't sit there for a moment before the game and just look around and drink in, you're a progressive field. Your childhood team is playing in a decisive game. And your mom and dad are with you? Dude, blessed. Blessed. Absolutely. Absolutely blessed. Here's the thing though, you won't be able to enjoy. It's game five. It's not going to be fun at all. That's a thing. See, Cap, you laid out a nice beautiful family lifetime TV moment. But Cap, it's Shay. Can't understand that. It's Shay. Won't be able to enjoy it. It's not cutting time now. Can you win? Can you win or go home? Can't enjoy it. You just want to see your team win. That's all you want. These days, hoodie, they're the worst day of your life until they aren't. Yeah. Hey, I remember game seven in 2016, man. And terrified all day long. All day. Until I bumped into Theo and he texted me. Relax, we got this. We're good. Yes. Okay. And then that home run flew out and I'm like, the curse is real. Yes. Dad, I'm looking up at the sky. Dad, it can't be this cruel. And then we won. And then you won. That's all right, Shay. Big time on Saturday. Big moment. And if the Tigers win, just make sure you send a check to the White Sox. Because the only reason why you're in it and Kansas City was in it because there's terrible. Yes. All right. And we weaken Cleveland for you because that's the only team we play closest here. Yeah. Cleveland. So send a check to the White Sox because that's the reason why three teams are in it. This postseason. Congratulations. Wow. Thank you. Scooble on the mound. Let's get started with shot or no shot. And my White English D, the game. The game on Sunday is a battle between the latest generational prospect in Caleb Williams and the most recent generational prospect before him in Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence's career has not gone the way the Jags hoped. But he does have a playoff win on his career and he has just thrown for 300 yards last week in a big win that they needed. But shot or no shot. If this game is in crunch time on Sunday, you would already rather have Caleb than Trevor Lawrence. That's a shot. I have the younger asset there. And I haven't had to commit 260 million or 265 I think he got. And then gone. Oh God. I hope he's the right guy. Like when I pay that money, if I was an owner, if you told me, hey, we got to sign this guy. It's going to cost us whatever the number is. Five million a year. There could be no doubt. You cannot be in your suite of offices going. I hope he's the right guy. Like when the Chiefs paid my homes half a billion dollars. And by the way, he was at Yankee Stadium the other night. It was there by week. Oh yeah. Watching his Royals because he's a part owner. Super cool. When they wrote that check, there was no doubt they didn't go. I hope he's the right guy. They knew the person. They knew the family. They knew his performance. How his teammates responded and loved him. Like if I'm Jackson, I'm like, I hope he's the guy. So I'd rather have Caleb. His best year so far has just been in Clemson. They just had just so far. That's a fact. It's a athlete. It's a quarterback cap. There probably needs a change of address. Trevor Lawrence at some point in his career. He's going to start with somebody else if he can. What were you? Did he ever throw? Yeah, he's had two 4,000 yard seasons. Yep. And in 2022, completed 66.3% of his passes for 41-13. 25-8 TD interception and a 95.2 passer rating. That'll win. With the rest of the team though, that's the whole thing. I mean, that's great numbers individually. What about the teams? That team got to what, say, the division around? Yep. Lost in the first round. No, they won this first round. They beat the Chargers and then they lost in the division around to Kansas City, I think. In a great game. They battled them. And then last year, he threw for 4,016. 21-14 passer rating down to 88.5. A completed 66% of his passes. So it's there. He's good. It's not horrible. I just believe in Caleb Williams' future. I bet on his future more so than Trevor Lawrence is present. I believe that's fair. You agree with that? Yeah. I agree. I'm more into the 20-year-old in his future with the arrow pointing up versus the arrow pointing sideways with Trevor Lawrence. The numbers are fine. I would agree. But it's about team success cap. And I think that the Bears will get there with Caleb Williams in the first year and moving forward. All right, Jay. All right, the trade deadline in the NFL a little less than a month away, and the rumors are starting to swirl. The Bears are rumored to be monitoring three teams that are teetering on lost seasons ahead of the trade deadline. One of those three teams is the New England Patriots, who have an aptly named Left Guard, potentially available on the trade market. Do you know what I'm talking about? What's his name? Left Guard Michael Jordan. He would currently have the second highest pass blocking grade of any Bears offensive lineman according to PFF. So shot or no shot. The Bears should bring Michael Jordan to Chicago. He's 26, right? Yep. Yes. What's the cost? What am I giving up? You don't have to give up anything because the name recognition tells you all you need. That's the old Bears. What have brought him in? Right. We're bringing in Michael Jordan, hoodie. We're bringing Michael Jordan home. Oh, my God. Michael Jordan. That's going to be fantastic. 66, 315. I mean, what's the price? Grades out. Like I said, he would be the second highest graded pass blocking offensive lineman on the Bears today. Okay. What do they want for him? That's a shot. Because, listen, I know that a lot of Bears fans look at the offensive line. So how come Ryan Pauls didn't take good care of the offensive line, knowing that you had a rookie quarterback in the first year offensive coordinator with this team? But here's the thing. You couldn't fix everything. Doesn't mean you can't fix things on the fly. And you can fix one of those parts. And he said the other day, I'm good with where we're at there. And I like our depth. Bill Murray and Matt Pryor. Okay. We're going to find out. Kathy likes it for the time being. Correct. He doesn't love it. No. And I think with three picks in the first two rounds next year, a one and two twos, Carolina's two and ours, you're going to see at least two offensive linemen. I'll speak for Ryan Pauls. He loves the secondary. He loves his linebackers. By the way, some breaking news there. You want it now? Shitty, we hit the sounder. Sounds like it sounded worthy. Oh, it sounded-- Jay Moore, here we go. Now, breaking news here. This is breaking news. It could be. The Advantage Dealer Group, breaking news on ESPN Chicago. Chicago's home for sports. We turn to veteran reporter David Kaplan with breaking news here on "Cap and Jay Hood Cap." The Bears have now listed Tyreke Stevenson as doubtful to play after injuring his calf Thursday in practice in England. Again, Tyreke Stevenson is one of our better defenders, with Jaquan Brisker already listed as out. Stevenson has been downgraded to doubtful to play on Sunday. Not good. That's a big loss. Next man up. Jalen Jones available. He's there. All right, let's go. He's the go-ins. Jonathan Owens is there. You got Elijah Hicks who's going to get the start in Brisker's place. You're going to need Jalen Johnson, Tyler Gordon, and Kevin Byard III have to be outstanding. Yeah. They'll fill the bill. Somebody's going to get an interception or two out of that. So. That'll be fine. No problem. You don't want to miss two key cogs out of your secondary, but I understand. It happens. Yes. All right. So now it's doubtful. It went from questionable now to doubtful for Stevenson. That, according to the great Jason Leisure. Our buddy. From the Sun times. Who is in London. Who has fired Iberflus. All right. We turned up. That was Nagy. Are you fired Matt? Nope. Not yet Jason. Thank you. All right. Can you squeeze in one more, sir? Yeah. I talked about the rumor mill with the trades. That's also happening with Keenan Allen. And there were some reports this week that those are legitimate. They're seriously considering if they need to trade Keenan Allen. Obviously they brought them into make life easier for Caleb Williams. So far partially due to injury. He just hasn't been involved. He's got 10 catches on the season and could potentially fetch a draft pick from a desperate team. The Kansas City Chiefs who need a wide receiver badly. Shot or no shot. The Bears really might trade Keenan Allen at the deadline. That's a no shot. No shot. Tell me what their record is. Bear? If heaven forbid the Bears were to lose like the next four games. Let's say they're five and three. That's a no shot. Five. We're three and two right now. Yeah. Three and two. Yeah. The trade deadline is November five. There's no shot if they have a winning record and they have a chance to go to the playoffs. They're not trading them. No chance. No. If the Bears are up the tracks and this is going to be one of these rebuilding seasons. Then that's something that you can trade. Yeah. If you told me heaven forbid they lose this game by week, lose the next two. And all of a sudden you're two and you'd be three and five. No shot. Then maybe, maybe they would entertain that. I don't see that scenario. So I don't think they do that. Is there a world though where like you're five and three and Keenan Allen's got 15, 17 catches on the season. He's just not involved. Somebody's willing to give you a third when you paid a fourth and you go, yeah, okay, we'll do it. If I knew that Tyler Scott was a guy, then possibly, not even yes, but possibly. But nothing else has been developed in that wide receiver room. Where's Tyler Scott been? See, all I'm saying is, is that you're trying to get to the playoffs. All hands on deck. You don't have step on your wide receiver. And again, I told you this a couple of weeks ago, I'm not trying to help anybody. I'm trying to be a playoff team. Agreed. But the thing is, Shay, in your scenario, you're forgetting the attention that he draws that makes things better for DJ Cole, Roman Dunes, a Tyler Scott, Gerald Ever. Whoever that DeAndre Swift out of the back, whoever that may be. It's like looking at Montez Sweat's numbers and tell me, I don't mean you. Tell me you don't know anything about football without telling me you don't know anything about football. Oh, Montez, why is he not in the sack leaders? We're paying him 98 million bucks. Yeah, because other guys are getting the eat because he's attracting not only a double team, but go watch the tape. He gets chipped on top of it. Yes. Yes. So thank you, Montez. I'm telling you is that I'm not listening to any trades for any of the offensive weapons for the Bears because I'm trying to get to the playoffs. That's all I'm saying. Like I can't, this whole thing of like key analysis, I get in the ball like, look, this, remember this offense how it started this season, how constipated was where you just couldn't get the ball to the certain. Now the last couple of games, it is Alan. It's more. It's Swift. It's others to be able to eat along with the tight ends. No cap. I'm not trying to help somebody else. Right. And I know this is not a Super Bowl season for the Bears. What I'm saying is, is that I'm trying to move on to the next level, which is the playoffs. So I need as much talent as possible to get there. That's all I'm saying. Right. That's why that scenario. Only way I would do it that I painted you is that heaven forbid you're like, we're three and five up the track. Yeah. Up the track. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. But no, this is supposed to be a winning team. That's why I'm keeping my assets. I'm keeping on assets, not trading them. Keep here Wyatt Teller's name with the Bears. Good. He's 29 with the, he's a guard with the Browns who are stuck with 150 million more and guaranteed money to Deshawn Watson and might be willing to move a contract. The picks are next on Captain Jay Hood. Follow Chicago's home for sports on Twitch at ESPN 1000 Chicago. And now it's time for the picks by here on the Captain Jay Hood morning show. And the picks are brought to you by the fine folks over at the village of Rosemont. My friends, the great mayor, Brad Stevens, my friend located just outside of the city Rosemont as your one stop destination for fun. Rosemont. It's awesome. It's all here. Here's Shane Norlin. Shane. All right. We're going to get started in college with one of the great slates of the season. Starting with Red River, 230 kick, number one Texas at number 18, Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl and Texas is a 14 and a half point favorite hoodie. Texas has won five of its games in blowout fashion this year, establishing itself. Cap is one of the top teams in college football. Just to point of fact, yours is healthy, right, Shane? He will play. He will play the quarterback for Texas man. That's always a great rivalry game, but I really like Texas Texas is the best team in college football. I said as a Georgia fan cap, they're the best. You meet Texas in the 14 and a half in this big rivalry game against Oklahoma. Oklahoma, not very good kid, Texas has a hell of a football team. They're not the best in my opinion. My partner wants to go with Texas. I'll tell you, it's the Ohio State Buckeyes who are the best team in the land. They will beat Oregon, but we'll get to that in a moment. All right. Give me the, I spoke with Caleb Williams at length from London. He called me late last night and said, kid, take my Oklahoma Sooners. I have a little sooner blood in me. I'll take the 14 and a half. Give me Oklahoma. They don't win the game, but they cover. That's a lie. If Caleb ever had to play behind this version of Oklahoma's offensive line, he would pick against him too. They stink. Their offensive lines horrible. Their quarterback play. They switched to mid season. It's horrible. They blow. Give me Texas. Everything's bigger in Texas. I'm taking Texas. Including the points, Brad. Absolutely. 14 and a half. Number nine Ole Miss, a three and a half point favorite on the road at number 13 LSU. This game is under the lights at Death Valley hoodie. Remember last year, Shay, the showdown? It was Ole Miss topping LSU 55 to 49 Oxford. My God. 1400 combined yards of offense. What a game this was. Ole Miss is the better ball club than LSU. Ole Miss is going to win the game outright, but give me Ole Miss minus three and a half. Yeah, Ole Miss is a really good football team. LSU has a guy coaching on the sideline named Brian Kelly. I don't root for Brian Kelly. Can't stand the man. Okay. So I will take Ole Miss, lay the lumber and beat their ass. You think Ole Miss will top off LSU, Shay? What do you think? Excuse us. Use us. I hate to derail the lane train, but I'm putting a penny on the tracks. LSU at night, I'm getting points with the home team. I'm going to derail the lane train. What does a penny on the tracks mean? It's an old myth. If you throw a penny on the railroad tracks, you'll derail the train. I'm derailing the lane train. Good night. LSU plus three and a half. Wow. Never heard that myth? Okay. I'll go with Ole Miss. Well, will Ole Miss win the game? Shay or no? Tough, man. LSU at night is where dreams go to die. Come on. I'm the only one in the four of us I believe that's been to a night game at LSU. It is a super cool environment. And those cages are going to be leaving very upset. You got to look Mike the Tiger in the eye and then take the field. Mike the Tiger is cool. Mike the Tiger. That's a different beast. Okay. Number two, Ohio State caps Buckeyes laying three and a half on the road at Oregon at night. Hoodie. It's a point per game differential in college football, Ohio State. The Buckeyes are holding opponents cap to seven points a game. The Buckeyes have won every game by at least 28 points. It's the fewest points, by the way, allowed for a college football team since 1973. So I like the Buckeyes in a hostile environment in Eugene against Oregon, Ohio State minus three and a half. Dude, right outside the window it is Oregon hoodie. He's going down. Oh, do you see him? Oh, I'm coming back for a photo. Dan Lanning's a hell of a football coach, but Dan Lanning's not playing in the game. Oregon is going to get beaten by somewhere around 10 points. Give me Ohio State, lay the three and a half Buckeyes roll, baby. Let's go. I'm going to make my friend out here in the hoodie happy. You don't simply walk into Hudson Stadium at night and walk out with a field goal better win. I'm taking Oregon in the points, quack, quack. I'm going with Ohio State. I love Jamar's just stealth. He just goes, no, no, how's state? You know why? He knows the clock. He does. He keeps it moving. Gotta speed it up, baby. Onto the NFL. The Washington commanders going to Baltimore and the Ravens are nearly a full touchdown favorite lay in six and a half, hoodie. Give me the Ravens, minus six and a half against the commanders. This will be the first paddling that the commanders have had this season. It will happen in Baltimore. So the commanders are a good football team. I really liked their coach. He interviewed for the Bears, Dan Quinn. Dan Quinn is not going to win this game, but his club with his fine young quarterback, Jaden Daniels, is going to cover. Give me the commander. A really good, a band, by the way, fine young quarterback. Yes. Go ahead. Yep. Commander's defense is asked. I think this is the first time it bites them. The Ravens run the ball all over him. Give me the Ravens. Yep. Ravens. Let's go. Texans lay in seven on the road in New England, hoodie. Patriots will cover the number, Texans could win the ball game, but I think closer than the experts think, I think the Patriots will keep it, the score low, I think the Patriots win the game. Sorry, the Patriots plus seven. The Texans are going to go in and they're going to teach Drake May, the meaning of the word respect. Young fella, you're not ready yet. You shouldn't be starting. You should be sitting this year, but they decide to bring him out now against this pass rush. Give me the Texans. They route them. Yeah. I'm with you, Cap. I think it's Fields versus Cleveland. This is the worst possible spot that they could have thrown Drake May into the fire. Give me the Texans to blow them out. Texans. I got them. Cardinals at Packers, Packers lay in five and a half, hoodie. I mean, the Packers minus five and a half against the Cardinals. I just think the Packers will write the ship offensively just enough to be able to beat Arizona on Sunday. Yeah, I hate picking Green Bay so because they're Green Bay, but I do believe they're going to humble the Arizona Cardinals. I will take the Lambo denizens to cover five and a half. I'm going to take Arizona. They have a potentially explosive offense. They just won on the road at San Francisco. The numbers, weird, no man's land, five and a half right between three and seven. Give me the Cardinals. Yeah. Pack is whack. Don't bet them. They'll win the game, but I'm going with the Cardinals. Buccaneers at Saints. Saints are three and a half point home dogs, hoodie. Tired Saints team at home against the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers will win the ball game outright and the number of three and a half. So my friend Carmen de Falco always sets in an intra division rivalry game. If you get points at home, take the points. However, Spencer Rattler is at quarterback now with Derek Carl and then a bleak for several weeks. Yeah, I don't think it's a good spot for the Saints. Give me the buck in the ears. Shay. I am going to take the Saints divisional home dog. It's just the trend. How'd that work out for your last night? Dude, Bengals at a 10 point lead Joe Burrow throws a wild interception and a five touchdown game. Or last week. I'm talking about last night division home dog home dog. How'd that work out? I didn't pick that game last night, but it didn't work out for people who did. Last week, the Bengals at a 10 point lead in this same spot, Burrow throws a weird intercept option. Evan McPherson misses a field goal because the holder drops the ball three straight run plays from midfield because apparently coaches are comfy kicking 50 yard field goals. Now, whatever I got screwed, but I'll be on that side every time. Give me the Saints with car being out. I can't do it. So I'm going with the books. Steelers lay in two and a half at the Raiders. Putty. Is Justin starting? Let's see if just asking you better get a home by Tomlin. I think it's going to be Russell Wilson personally. Oh, God. Yeah, he participated in full practices this week, so. But he took the second team reps. So we'll see. I don't. Okay. So it's anal Connell, the starter for the Raiders this week. God almighty. Give me the Steelers holding my nose. Give me the Steelers minus two and a half on the road in Vegas. Stinky. Yeah. I'm holding my nose as well. I don't know. I don't know. I'm going to go with the Steelers. I don't feel good about the pick, but I am taking the steal. The public just has no faith in either one of these teams. They're all over the Steelers. And I think either way you go on this game, you're clipping your nose. I'm clipping my nose and going with the Raiders. Ah, Steelers. Go with them. I don't know. I don't know. It's the NFL. Yeah, I have no idea. Lions lay in two and a half on the road in Dallas. When's the last time you saw Cowboys getting points at home? Butty. All right. We'll pass. Cap, go right ahead. That's not allowed, John. You know that. Yes. You're better than that. You're Jonathan F and Hood, man. Make a pick. I think this one's actually one of the easiest ones on the board. I says you. For me, it's a little bit more difficult. It's fair. God almighty. Cap, that's the only one I have not circled. You see my sheet here. I have not made a pick. Could you tell me why I should take the Lions? Mine is two and a half. I can't. That's the thing. I like it. I like it. Mike, if I jump in. Please. I'm going to be on the Lions. It's one of my favorite plays of the week. The Cowboys aren't going to have Michael Parsons. They can't stop the run. This Lions O.L. is just going to eat them up. It's offensive line for Detroit. We'll travel. They're going to beat them up. The Cowboys can't match up defensively. And Dak's been awful. Give me the Lions. He has not been awful. I agree with you. He's been bad. Yeah. I agree with you. Lions. That's why you guys passed me. I haven't made my pick yet. But go ahead, brother. I am taking the Dallas Cowboys. They win the game, but you're going to give me two and a half. I'll take it. All right, Cap. I think they win the game outright, but they may lose on a late field goal. Give me two and a half. I'll take the Dallas Cowboys. Here we go. All right, Lions. And Shay. Final game. Jaguars, pairs, rich, eyes, and in Kurt Warner on the call on NFL Network on television. If you'd like, you might prefer to listen to Jeff Joniac and Tom Thayer right here on ESPN 1000. I've got the tight sync. I've got the tight sync game. There's no way I'm listening to Rich Eisen for three hours shot. It'll be Joniac and Thayer in my house. Bears lay him one and a half of it in his bad pinstripe suit. I'm not listening to that or watching that. I'll be having the game on, but I've got it on ESPN 1000, the old sync game. Jeff and Tom got me doing that. I put my little beats, AirPods in and I listened to my gut. Bears, bears, bears, minus one and a half. Bears. Yeah. Bears are one of my top plays. I don't think it's a blow out. I think it's a fairly close game. The only way this thing gets out of hand is if it really was an issue coming in late for the jags. I think it's a fairly competitive football game. I do. And I am going to play the Chicago Bears. And by the way, Dak Prescott's completing over 65% of his passes. He's got almost 1,500 yards passing already, eight to four touchdown the interception ratio. His passer rating is 93. He has not been terrible. Stop yourself. Shake. I think the jags are the better side, but I don't care. I think the bears are the better team. And I think right now they have the better quarterback. And I think you could even argue they have the better head coach because Doug Peterson has been brutal. Give me the bears. It's breakfast with the bears, baby. Let's go. Yeah. So who do you like? Bears, man. Okay. Having breakfast. With the bear. I'm just saying. I don't know what you do at all. Actually, I like breakfast better. Okay. I'm wondering who your partner was there having breakfast with this. I was like breakfast. I was like the bears and breakfast. I think that's true to tell us, right? The bears. The bears. All right. And those are the picks. Love it. Love it. Love it. Let's go. Bears. Get her done. Now to London and Courtney Cronin. That's next right here on ESPN 1000. Take that. Follow Chicago's home for sports on Twitter at ESPN 1000. Cap and Jay Hood are back on ESPN Chicago, Chicago's home for sports. Keep your beef out of this. Courtney Cronin, national Chicago bears reporter for ESPN. You have to temper expectations if you are a bears fan, just given everything that this team had to kind of undo. Breaking down the bears and the latest NFL storyline. Paul's was given the flexibility and the freedom to take this thing down to the ground floor down to the studs to be able to build it back up. Courtney Cronin with Cap and Jay Hood, ESPN 1000, Chicago's home for sports. Cap and Jay Hood on ESPN 1000 and streaming on the ESPN Chicago app. Don't forget it's the Bears and the Jaguars. Our coverage starts at five a.m. with Jeff Miller in the fantasy football show and then rolls right into the coverage at six and Courtney Cronin's on the hotline. That would be the current's turn on a hotline. Rattle, rattle, thunder, batter, boom, boom, boom, boom. Don't worry about the current's name. Good morning, Courtney. How are you? Good afternoon. From, I guess we're just outside of where right now headed back to London after finishing up at the Bears ability all afternoon. And that is that where handberry? Is that what it's called? Correct? Yeah, it's handberry manners in this town that's just north of London called where. And it's about a 90 minute trek for us to and from each day and we've been making that since Wednesday. So quite a hike, but it's some really pretty English countryside that we get a chance to view on our way to and from your sound fine. You know, it's long distance, but you sound great, Courtney. You sound wonderful. Thank you. Thank you. I was trying to. I'm talking on a very quiet bus right now. Everybody's writing. They're going to probably heckle me at some point. Do you have any questions for anybody else in the Bears? But you feel free and I will go and like yell them down the aisle. That's a great bit. We do this. A little pass the phone. Yes. So here's my question here. We had the great Tom Thayer on yesterday and Tom said he really, really feels good about the vibe because they're not downtown London with all these distress. He said it's more like a training camp and it's just the Bears and he really feels good about their week of prep. Do you concur? Yeah, I think it's first up coming out on Monday night when they did. I just I don't understand why more teams don't do this. You know, the Jacksonville got delayed because of the hurricane, but you think about how many times they've been out here to get out here today and then their first practice isn't until Saturday. That seems not great. When the Bears did this in 2019, they came towards the end of the week and we know, you know, that the story that the Ravens love to not tell about the time that they got absolutely obliterated out here because they thought they could do it with a truncated week coming out towards the end. I think the Bears have the right approach and if they, another London game or Spain game where they're marketing rides or anywhere else, there's international play, you should really get full week to acclimate. It's a lot because you got to move your entire facility over here. That's not just football operations and equipment. That's the medical staff. We know that they're dealing with a couple of injuries for guys here that you want to make sure you have the exact same treatment for that you would state side. But, you know, it kind of reminds me of what the Greenbriers like for training camp when teams go to West Virginia and that's it. I mean, I know the players have the rest of the day off. They have to say off to go explore and most of them went to Central London. Courtney. And the grounds are beautiful. There's a lot to them. There's not a lot for them to do there other than like bond with each other, which is always a good thing. Courtney, about the injury situation in the secondary. What is the latest and who will be the replacements do you believe? Courtney. Yeah. So, Tyree Stevenson came down or came down. He had the calf injury. He sustained it yesterday. He was limited. He was not out there when we were there for the practice earlier this morning. So, it's going to be Jalen Jones if he's not able to go. So, I think it's a situation now where it's just a little tenuous on the back end. You could be down to if you're starting members in the secondary and I think that that's, you know, it's a tough blow. Not that saying that like the Jacksonville Jaguars offense has been that explosive, but we know that Trevor Lawrence can make some of those throws as it has not displayed it consistently this season, but would be a pretty big loss that Stevens just can't go. Now, they're going to determine tomorrow when he wakes up, whether he's going to be healthy enough to do a pregame warm up on Sunday. So, I don't know, the doubtful designation doesn't feel great about it, just considering what they're already dealing with without Chiquan Brisker, who did not travel because the effect concussion. Okay. So, to piggyback on your talk about Trevor Lawrence, could you ask Mark Potash, who has a column today and the sometimes, is he on the bus with you? Yes, he is on the bus. What do you want me to ask him? Ask him in his extensive research for this fine column today, does he believe Jacksonville has regret over giving 275 million to Trevor Lawrence? Okay. Let me ask him. Hey, Potsy, get a few tickets head to the drop. Potsy, I'm on a radio interview with Captain Jay, but they want to know about your column on Trevor Lawrence. Do you think that they have regret over drafting him number one overall? Yeah. He did not think that they have regret over drafting him or signing him to that message. You didn't really give it a lot of thought, but you did write that column, you're right on that. Tell him the column showed that he didn't give it a lot of thought. That says the column showed you didn't give it a lot of thought. Listen to the bus, listen to the bus. He got any other questions for anybody else on the beat? You want me to pass the phone to him? Did a Gene Chamberlain make the trip? Is he there? He did not, but Biggs is here. I'm sure Biggs wants to be bothered right now. Oh, yeah. He's giving you guys a giant middle finger, if that's any indication. What about me? He's giving me a middle finger? Ask Biggs if that was the middle finger. Ask Biggs. Was that the middle finger he used to block me on Twitter? I don't know if he could tell by the last thing that's on the bus. Is a Larry Mayer on the bus? No, no, he's back at the handberry manner with the team. Who's left in there? I don't know. We've got the entire Chicago Sun times beat, the entire Chicago trip. For Boon Beat, myself, Kevin Fishbane of the Athletic Dot. Who else here? Sean Hammond here. Scott Bares here. That's it. You got Lee Schur. You got Finn Lee? Yeah. Yeah. I see him. He's here. He's wearing a purple sweater. Could you ask? Yes. Could you ask Fishbane? Who is he like tonight? Northwestern or Maryland? That's good. Who do you like tonight, Northwestern or Maryland? Cats by 12. Yeah. Oh, cats by 12. Here's another one. How about that Fishbane? I watched that Mike. I watched that Mike Locksley defense a couple of weeks ago against Indiana, so I kind of concur with that. I don't know if any of us are staying up till 2 AM, local people watch their games. For example, tune in tomorrow morning to see if, uh, see if it's tickets. Right. Well, again, I'm, I think this is a huge opportunity, Courtney, to punch Jacksonville in the mouth with their travel issues and their minds having to deal with the hurricane and all of that. You cannot let them get off to a quick start, though. Do you concur? Yeah. And I think that's what players and coaches have been talking about all week. I asked Tyler Gordon, you know, about the turnover step, the takeaways. They have 11 through 3 games through 5 games, which is the third most right now in the NFL. Think about where they finished last season at 25, which was like still within top 10, but we knew that that was the identity of their defense. Um, it would have done that earlier, been able to do it earlier in the year last year. Who knows where they would have been, but that's been such a key to the fast start that, you know, especially in the wind, they've been able to get out to and then even coming from behind, um, that's been a pretty critical part for why this team is kept close and so many one score games, except for the Panthers, uh, which is a blowout. I think they're in a good spot to do that, you, you, there is also some other, it was having Jagan, which is a good sign, um, he's questionable. So he was out there today, limited capacity, did not practice yesterday, still dealing with that ankle injury, but I think they're pretty confident with the depth that they have, whether it's Bill Murray, obviously you've seen, you know, then use other offensive linemen in different packages at the goal line, uh, you know, you heard Ryan polls talk about it earlier in the week that, you know, going back to that comment about depth from, from the free season, it's, I know that for a while, it looks kind of bleak there when, when some of the injuries popped up and really just some of the bad play that we saw, but I think they're in a good spot with that as far as, you know, what's behind Kevin Jenkins if for some reason that ankle is not well enough for him to play out. Can you ask a Dan Weederer if he's being more positive this week or is he still living that negative slant to things, you know, he just got here a couple hours ago. So I don't want to, he's jet lag. I think he told me he slept two hours on the airplane, his life jet lag, you know, I mean, some people can do that. Others can't. I'm not somebody who can function on no sleep, but I don't, I'm going to refrain from asking that question because I don't want to upset him, you know, exhausted and he's trying to work. He's easily upset. Okay, just leave people alone. Okay, I mean, I'm sorry, Courtney, I had to put you through that. That's, that's a shame. And he's just trying to get unblocked by bigs. So we should do every radio interview like this. That would be amazing. He's just trying to get unblocked by bigs is just never going to have, I, I have no beef with Brad Biggs. I like Brad. I don't either. I said Courtney just for full clarity here, I said something stupid and I apologize to Biggs a hundred times and he blocked me on Twitter and he's never spoken to me since. So just tell him when we get done, I hold no ill will, I was wrong and I'm a fan. Okay, I will, I will relay that message. And I also got a way for me. I also got a shadow backup Twitter that follows one person. I follow Biggs and I have notifications on. So I actually get his content faster. Hey, you're playing 3d chess cap. That's it, that's it and that's my drinking buddy in bourbon A. I got no problem with Brad Biggs. I like Brad. I think he's very good. Yes. So I don't understand what happened there. But you know what Courtney as always, we appreciate the time. Thank you guys. We're going through a tunnel. So if I lose you here, I will talk to you next week by travel safe. We love you. Thanks guys. Take care. See you. Ronan from where England bears her training. I have no idea. Where is it? W.A.R.E. Like Andre where? Where is it? Where is it? Why don't you get your hand berry manner? It's hand berry manner. Yeah, that's the name of the facility that they have taken over. Yeah, sounds sexy. The beefs you have in this town. My God. I just let people in. I'm an open book here. I said something stupid about Biggs when I was on TV. He called me, cursed me out, blocked me and he's never spoken to me since. And I tried to get unblocked, just I apologized. I was wrong. I made a flip remark. You know me. Yes. I'm ready to shoot aim. I'm that guy. I was wrong. So Brad, again, I was wrong. But I do get your content anyway. I shouldn't get that trap no low. I should not be able. You have a middle finger. He's a mully guy, but he doesn't have to come after us like that. Who do he block to me? I think by association with cap because I've never even spoken to the man. Let me see if I'm still that'll be hilarious. If you're blocked now, that would be hilarious. We, we, we, we just said we asked him, are we allowed to ask you a question in your state? He says, Oh, no problem. That would have been, that would have been interesting upstairs. Correct. The J.A. could have been like, what are you doing? That would not have gone over well. No, on the seventh floor. Danny would be all over me again. Oh my God, Brad Biggs, that's no reason for that. I understand, you know, you're a Morgan guy, but doesn't mean that you have to look at us like that. Correct. That was a great segment, man. You're welcome. Loved it. All right. Coming up, the Bears and the Jaguars, the Bears will win if, fill in the blank next on on Captain J. Hood.
