The story of Gary Johnson, a psychology and philosophy professor who works undercover for police enforcement in New Orleans as a counterfeit assassin, is told in Hit Man. Gary adopts a variety of hitman personalities, carefully crafting each one to fit the description of the possible murderer he is pursuing with his psychological skills. But Gary's extraordinary acting abilities turn out to be a double-edged sword when he falls in love with Maddy, a lady trying to get rid of her violent husband. Maddy, on the other hand, falls in love with "Ron," the mysterious and sophisticated hitman that Gary plays.
