The main character of the movie is Brandon Soo Hoo's Tom Lee, who was raised by his grandmother in a large San Francisco home that was crammed with charms and other artefacts, leading some neighbours to believe that she was a witch. Even though Tom looks like any other fifteen-year-old high school student, he starts to doubt his normalcy after inadvertently sending a bully flying into the roof during a brawl between classes. He became suspicious after this happened. Sadly, this show of strength attracts the attention of Loo Yeoh, a villain who wants the magical necklace Grandma has been keeping hidden.
