coming to you live from the Eastern Shore, Toyota and Hyundai Studios. The Thompson Tractor Prep Sports Report. Here's your host, Randy Bergen with Coach Rick Cleveland and Coach Mark Leseter. And good Saturday morning to you. It is a beautiful Saturday along the Gulf Coast right here and welcome to the Thompson Tractor Prep Sports Report. As we are coming to you live from the Eastern Shore, Toyota and Hyundai Studios located today on the back veranda of Quill Creek Golf Club in beautiful Fair Hope, Alabama. Glad to have you on board with us. It is their club championship. They've asked us to come out and this is where we are. We're broadcasting live today. Glad to have you here. I am Randy Bergen along with Coach Mark Leseter. Coach, congratulations. A nice win for Bayside last night. 27-7 over Cottage Hill. That was a big win for another region win and played a team that's got some really good players on it. Shadari is two to one of the best players I've watched in a while. Is there a linebacker? He's committed to go to Auburn and he was quite a... I don't think the kid ever came off the field. He played linebacker, quarterback, running back. He split out, played receiver and he did just about it all. But I was really proud of our kids, really played in a physical ball game and got some big region win. We're getting into this part of the season. Every region wins huge. There's no question about it. Week 7 is it? We just completed week 7. So you got just a couple more and you're right. Region play right now. Everybody's beginning to wrap up and work toward those post-season play-offs and men were rooting for you. So congratulations again. Okay, Coach Rick Cleveland is actually out on the golf course today. He's playing in the championship. Good luck to him. So we went to the bullpen. We brought in the... we brought in the righty. There he is right there. Coach Barry Gibson. Coach, how you doing, my man? Man, I'm doing great, Randy. If I was doing any better, I'd be twins. It's just... it's a beautiful thing. I don't know if we could take too... I know it could take me too. I mean, I can't say that. I'm already a twin. That's right. That'd be triplets. Yeah, a lot of them. But boy, what a great... I've been waiting for that little nip in the air. You know, I know the golfers have been so... you know, it's been so humid and hot, you know, over the months. But now, this morning, uh, man, you just felt... it just felt refreshed. You know, when you walk outside, this morning, it was like 54 this morning. We ain't seeing that number in a long time. So, but glad to be here, Randy. Looking forward to it. Yeah, it is a beautiful, beautiful day along the Gulf Coast on the cloud and the sky. And you're right. This weather's just right. This, you know, market seems like just as you get toward the end of football season is when the weather gets right. Yeah, it's the weather you always think that's football weather. Right. You know, the first part of it is like beach weather. You know, it's always, you know, smoking hot and all those days in the summer. And even in... and Barry knows in the fall, you know, you go... you practice... you go to practice that day in August and you come back home, go to bed, get up the next morning, you walk out, open the door and just hit by this wall of humidity and you're going, "Oh my gosh, it's going to be another one of those days." And it just, it just wears on you after a while. So, man, when it finally gets like this, it feels like football time. We're going to get into some scores here in just a second. But let me ask you, whenever the weather changes like this and Barry, you were retired. Now we're retired high school football coach, retired college football coach. Both you guys, do you see kind of a change in the attitude of the players when the weather gets a little better too? I do. I see the kids kind of get a little bounce to the step and, you know, it's a little bit more fun. They seem to be feeling like, you know, it's, you know, it's a little cool out here. I can do a little bit more and it just puts a little more excitement. I know the coaches feel the same way. And I feel that way too, Mark. You know, if it feels good to the coaches, it feels even better to the players because you got all that equipment on. Sure. You know, I can remember when I was playing in Southern Miss, this is one of the hottest places in the world, by the way, in one of the, you know, high humidity places. We would literally walk from the fieldhouse across the street to the practice field and just be soaking wet with sweat before we even started practice. It's just about walking across the street. And with all that equipment, if it was 95, you know, the temperature wise, it was about 103 underneath those pads and helmet and so, and the heat just kind of stays underneath there with you. So it was, yeah, this kind of weather, we just love to see it, man. It just, it gives you a break from all that heat. Oh, let me go ahead and set the table for you. Got a big show lined up for you. We're going to get into the scores from all around the state coming up in just a few moments. But at the bottom of the hour, we'll head over to Spanish Fort and we'll talk with Chase Smith for the tour of Spanish Fort. We'll get a win last night. We'll talk a little bit about that. Then we'll wrap up with coach Adam Fosse. There's a BB calmer, another win for them. And then at nine o'clock, Mark got a special guest. Yeah, Amy Cockrell is going to come on and talk to us about heart for athletes and a huge event they've got coming up in February. And Amy has just become one of my best friends in it as we have some linkage with our hearts and our families. And we both have a heart for athletes as she talks about and what her organization's going to, she runs. It is a wonderful organization. We're looking forward to talking to Amy. Well, and I'll tell you, it's always good. I mean, there's nobody better that several years ago, what they do was very important for you, Mark. I mean, without that, you wouldn't be with us today. That's exactly right. And it's, I think about that every single day of my life and never, never a day goes by that. I don't think about it. In the second hour, at nine 15, you won't want to miss this. We've got one of our great friends on Coach Phil Lassaby, the head football coach for Bay Shore right now. And boy, did they get a win last night, 28, 26 over a angle. What if you don't know coach Phil Lassaby, this coach can do more with less than anybody I've ever seen. Of course, we did, Barry, you and I did play by play in color for Bayside football for 15 years. And we said after every ball game, I don't care who we played, whether we were supposed to win or not supposed to win. But we always said, how did he do that? How did he do that? How did that coach and staff get that win tonight? Because it was just so, just the way he manipulated the offense and defense excited to talk with coach Phil Lassaby. We'll do that at nine 15. And then we'll wrap up some more scores for you. We'll wrap up this show. Mark, you'll have our Camp Grace segment. Yeah, we're going to talk about some things today that are hard for, hard for me. I don't know about y'all, but hard for me about, you know, thinking about, you get angry about something or someone and you have to step back and go, I don't think I need to say anything right now about that. And there's a scripture in Romans that'll tell us about how to handle those things. And I look forward to talking to them. I'll be listening you tintly. I can promise you. We got just a minute or so. Let's see if we can get some scores in here real quick. We'll start with seven a Auburn defeat Smith station boy, not a whole lot of defense there for Smith station seventy seventy six. Auburn gets the win. Austin over Bob Jones 42-28, Baker over Foley, a TV game 41-7, the final on that central Phoenix City 31, Cara Montgomery 26, Daphne over Alma Bryant 27-16, Davidson over Robberstill 29-3, Dothan over Jack 37-0, Florence 38, Grissom 7, Hewitt Trustful 49, Prabell 7. And I don't know what's going on with Prabell right now. But that is the level to have that many losses in one year is just completely unusual. Hoover 56, Tuscaloosa County 6, Huntsville 42, Albertville 0, Mary Mutt-Garmy. They get the win over Fairhope 35-20. Boy, what a ball game that was. Opelika over Enterprise 30-13, Sparkman 15, James Clemens 14, Thompson over Hillcrest Tuscaloosa 45-20, and Vestavy Hills 42, Oak Mountain 14. I mean, I don't care who you are. We know Jake Smith now loves boss gags. Yes. And he's tuned in right now listening to a little boss gag. Well, this is still a dance. I mean, still a dance. I knew it. Yeah. But he's testing us. He wants to see if we're paying attention. That's right. And you are. You passed the test for sure. But I will tell you, Chase does now. Yes, he does. Coach let me ask you a question Mark. Did you see any surprises in those scores? Well you know the surprise everybody's going to talk about is that Williamson beat UMS right. And UMS right is just kind of having a kind of a tough year in spots you know and I always like to go back to you know thinking about things about you know when UMS right has been a dominant team for a long long time and they are still very good you know some of the other teams Williamson's got a good season coming going along they've got some good talent and I just think that you know everybody's just got to hang in there with UMS Coach Curtis is you know I guarantee and nobody's working hard and he is getting that bunch to go so they'll still have the voice to be reckoned with for us things all said and done. Right now they have a two and five record all right they've got Elborough coming up on Friday night then they'll play Faith Academy and they'll round out the season with the Cardinals of St. Michael so they can still have a pretty good season if they can finish up with those three wins right there yeah all right hey we're going to take another timeout don't go anywhere when we come back we're going to talk some Toro football we'll do that with the Toro's head football coach Chase Smith he's up next right here on the Thompson tractor prep sports report. Welcome back to the Thompson tractor prep sports report. The Pops market communication lines are open at 251-343-0106. Here's your host Randy Bergen with coach Rick Cleveland and coach Mark Leseter. And we certainly welcome you back to the Thompson tractor prep sports report we're broadcasting live today on and Mark I think you like the word veranda so we're going to use that the back veranda here at Quilt Creek Golf Club their club championship today on a beautiful beautiful Saturday morning. I've got to tell you guys there's no better a Saturday morning it doesn't get any better when you're coming off of a fresh win on Friday night. You know how that feels yeah congratulations to Bayside again on the win last night and congratulations to the Toro's of Spanish four as they get a win last night over Gulf Shores 31-15 we're going to talk about that ball game and we do it with the head football coach Chase Smith. Chase how you doing my man? Hey good morning guys buddy hey congratulations on a good win you got a great season going on of course you got an open week coming up that probably at the right time but let's talk a little about this ball game last night talk about your offense seemed very dominant in this win a 31-15 win last night talk about that offense. Yeah I mean you know I'm just really really proud of the boys for how they responded you know we went in half time down free to nothing you know and hats off to Gulf Shores I had a great game plan took a lot of things away and you know we had to just kind of regroup and but our kids never batted an eye you know we've got a strong core leadership group and you know came in and made some adjustments and they came out got the job done. Hey Chase I got a I want you to first of all congratulations buddy great good win for you guys and but you know a lot of times we hear people talk you know and they all the talking heads will say well this team this bunch does a great job with adjustments this does they do this and tell tell our listeners what when you talk about adjustments what does that actually mean you know and I'm not talking you tell us what you do I'm just saying what does that mean for y'all to kind of make adjustments at halftime to help correct some things to do to do better in the second half. Yeah that's a good question so basically from my point of view you know we all and they've got a heck of a football staff to go Shores you may have ordered and what they do is they go off tendencies and we tried to practice tendencies but they come and they say you know we're going to take away this we're going to take away this run game we're going to take away this passing game we're going to get them out of sorts and you know we had some bad things happen with penalties that got us behind the sticks was as you know that's really tough but yeah so you come in at halftime and you say hey their answer to display is this their answer this place this and and we make some adjustments on our call sheets and we may give them you know formation A is not working here so we're going to go to formation B and run this play that's been good to us and should be good versus what they're showing us and then we come back out and we say hey and we do you know typically we hold a few things the second half as well for that reason because that's part of the chest batch a little kid right you know if we get them time to adjust at halftime they're going to do the same thing right so between holding it yeah so between holding a few things back and making adjustments on some of our bread and butter plays because as you know you know you form an offense and you have an identity and you're going to smoke and mirrors and things but the kids are good at what they do and you have reps invested so that's what we come back to is what are we good at what's our personnel good what look good during the week what do they have confidence in what do they have reps invested and then you just make those adjustments whether you know because if they're taking away this in the passing game this should be there etc etc so you just get your thoughts together and then you lay it out to the kids and and you let them know the game plan going and and that's what we did and they they took it and ran with it they did a great job we're visiting with Spanish 4 Torres head football coach Chase Smith with the win last night over Gulf Shores and that quite and Barry I know what you got a question of course Barry originally cranked up that program they're at Spanish for many years ago but uh Chase before Barry gets your question out of Gulf Shores that's a very familiar place that for you right you were there for a little bit and uh if I remember correctly Ben Blackman was there and Mark Freeman was there all previous coaches of Spanish 4 yep yeah I was uh I actually started the orange beach program but yeah I was there all the island and uh but yeah it's kind of a unique situation I guess you know Mark Freeman came from Gulf Shores Spanish 4 and from Gulf Shores and then I came from Orange Beach so yeah I was up to the field you know so yeah it's a unique little situation they're kind of interesting but uh but yeah yeah that's that's the history of it. Hey Coach Smith it's Barry Gibson a couple of questions first of all I guess my first question is my pitch is still hanging up in the field house and they're taking it down but uh no coach uh I had no he didn't answer that so I guess it's down it's that's a goner that's a goner hey coach uh and I want to piggyback a little bit about what Mark was asking you about adjustments you know it's it's really changed over the years and now video has become such a huge part you know of making adjustments at halftime and so if you would coach just share with our listeners how important that is if you if you use video you know used to in the old days you know when I was coach he had to go and just get a whiteboard and start drawing well now you've got iPads and you got all these you know TVs and you can show these kids you know video what they just did as they come off the field into the sideline and it's particularly imported at halftime you know you can show them more film and what they did so coach if you would address that a little bit about how how that has uh come into play and how important video is today yeah oh yeah well I mean it's crucial you know and when I was at Spanish Fort uh 2007 2010 that we didn't have that you know it was it was uh it was like you said you get over there and you ask the kids you just draw it up and and you know when I went to college itself uh you're not allowed to have that at that time so when I came back into high school it was you know we had these video boards and the the video boxes and we have iPads and it's all it's all legal obviously but uh yeah I mean it's just it's huge to be able hey here's the iPad you know the quarterback sees the read see what he's messing up on the line sees the front the line codes we all see uh you know where the holes are where the deficiencies are and you see that angle and it helped tremendously in making those adjustments which is probably why you see more I would say I don't know if everybody's ever looked at it but you probably see more half-time adjustments than things being adjusted uh in between series now than you would uh in the past I would I would imagine yeah I would agree with that for sure wisdom talking to a row football with half of all coach for Spanish Fort Chase Smith. Chase talked a little bit about that defense you mentioned that at half you went in you were down three zero I think the kid kicked a 30 plus short field goal to to give them uh the three points but you came in and the back half and you only gave up 15 points talk about that stubborn defense you got. Yeah Brian Turner my DC he just does an amazing job and his staff and that they had a great game plan and uh you know we we were really worried about me they've got a really good offense you know and uh that running back they got and we're skiing and they did a good job they've got a good football team you know and uh you know the kids just really rallied and gave us you know obviously held them to three points the first half and uh you know we got those corrections made and and and eliminated all those uh penalties that really set us back and you know just gotten our rhythm but the defense can't say enough about them at a uh defense our goal line stand to hold them I think it was a two-yard line and they held them out just to a field goal and I think that was probably the the determining factor there going into half the momentum there uh they kind of swung the game and got life back in us and and be able to come back that second half and and put up 31 points you know it's cool yes exactly what I was thinking coach I'll come out of halftime and go score 31 unanswered and they don't score they scored on you a little bit there toward you know a little bit later uh but and then got an on-side kick but I mean the bottom line was that's why I was interested in talking about your adjust because y'all made some really good adjustments at that and got it down a field coach let's talk a little bit about region play now you guys are sitting at five and one in region seven and one overall and you've got an open week coming up and then you got McGill Tulin and St. Paul's coming down the road to finish the season out and it's uh it's you know that region's a good region a lot of good football teams in it a lot of teams with one loss maybe with two in region so what is uh how does it look for you guys getting you know you got an off week chance to kind of uh rest a little bit maybe and then get ready for that those final that final push yeah I mean it's just your typical you know six day region one year I mean it's uh got some great great teams great coaches uh it's a grind and it's a fight I mean we are looking forward to this off week I know my kids are and get our feet underneath us and and it's been a it's been a long stretch of physical football but you know you got McGill we've got McGill after the uh the break here and they're a really good football team because Faulkner's done a great job and you know they go and beat Theodore and they're having a lot of success in the region we've got to go and uh they come to us on the hill and we've got to secure that region wind to keep it rolling and then uh finish up with St. Paul's at their place and they're playing really really good football right now so uh you know these last two weeks of region play are going to be uh a really determining factor really tough chase it is always fun to talk Spanish for football with you and just for you because we know you're now a big boss gags fan I'm throwing that in the background just for you but hey buddy congratulations on the win again in a great season you got go on enjoy the weekend or the week off and we'll have you have you back on before the end of the year all right oh thank you hey and Barry come by and see me man bring a picture I'll hang you a picture up there but c'mon Barry hey there's one there all right Chase thank you brother thanks coach coach Chase Smith right there he hit the ball coach for the tour of the Spanish what he is really a good guy he's fun he's fun whenever he's live with us in the studio yeah always fun to hang out with it's got a great season going on right now seven and one uh that's going to be a big game with your guild two and coming up that's going to be huge and then they'll finish out with St. Paul's and St. Paul's is really wild the way they play all day last night yeah that'll be a tough game you're playing good football you know that's six a head that's that region is tough bro and you're not kidding yeah man every week you better every week strap down yep I want to give a little shout out this morning to uh who she was my co-host last week coach Ann Schilling uh they won um the uh their area uh and we'll host area tournament in seven a that's amazing but here's the thing I think if I'm not mistaken and she'll correct me if she's listening we beat Hoover at home the other night based out academy beat Hoover in three straight and I think Hoover was ranked third in the state at the time and so just a huge win for them a little moment we had played Sarah Lan on Tuesday night and I got to watch part of that uh deal and I mean it was Sarah Lan's got a really nice volleyball team it was a really nice that Sarah Lan beat is three to two but it was some kind of all right let me just mention if you don't know who Ann Schilling is Ann Schilling is the head of volleyball coach for base uh base uh correct me if I'm wrong 22 state championships in a while and she's got crazy that a few more than that she's in this a three a school and she's playing seven a volleyball all right and winning and winning yep that's crazy she's one of the best you can go no she is the best you can go best you can go there's no doubt yeah all right hey let's take a time out we would come back we'll talk some BB Comer Tiger football with Adam Faucet right here on the top top's intractor prep sports report welcome back to the top's intractor prep sports report PSR is live every Saturday from 8 until 10 a.m now back to the show and we certainly thank you for hanging out with us right here on the top's intractor prep sports reports we're broadcasting live from the back deck here at quell creek golf club in beautiful Fair Hope Alabama it is their club championship and we're out here pretty uh not really participating in it but uh watching it and uh enjoying that for sure of course coach cleveland playing into the day so he's got his little fan club out here and uh we're we're rooting him on we're rooting him on it's coming on big so with him out there we went to the bullpen we brought in the right coach berry gibson sitting in with us and guys are going to go back to our mid-town communication lines and welcome in the head football coach for the tigers of bb calmer coach adam faucet coach congratulations on a win last night 36 34 Randolph county and that's a team that was i think five and one coming into the ball game you played them there and uh quite a quite a ball game then tell us a little bit about it because that's kind of an upset right okay maybe we don't have coach on his own coach okay we'll keep we'll keep efforting to get him on with us coach adam faucet uh but mark you have to say for for bb calmer out of silica to go over the Randolph county play at their place a team that i think was five and one coming into the ball so yeah and for bb calmer they were uh i think they were two and four they were actually one and five one and five okay going around off county one and two in region now they're two and two in region right and so is Randolph county and sometimes you know in these and uh regions that are kind of get like that berry you and i both know we've been in them where you're having a year where you're struggling a little bit but you're still in contention that's the great thing about it because it's one of the hardest things to do in coaching is when you get a team that is out of contention for even making the playoffs you know around the six seventh eighth week and you've got two or three weeks you know and you're fighting for pride and getting better you know it's very difficult sometimes so a big win for them may putting them at two and two along with Randolph county which also gives them a tiebreaker edge in case they do finish up tied at the end in the top four places of that region so you know that's a win it and be in that way mark you know it keeps the kids motivated you may have lost several non-region games you know your record may be two and six but those six losses may not be region games and now you've got a chance to go to the playoffs so it's it's an instant motivation late in the season even though you haven't had a great season and sometimes it comes down into that last game on the schedule where you're going to be one of the four teams to go to the playoffs and you're fighting like heck to get in that you know those four so it's uh it's a it's a motivation for the kids and the coaches so you forget about those losses uh earlier in the season and you're so focused on getting into the playoffs so it's like a whole new season coach just talk about it all the time so yeah you know what happens a lot of times like i remember years ago this is a long time ago now we were i was at Benjamin Russell assistant coach with Steve Saveries and we had made the playoffs and we had had a really good season uh and i think we were like eight and two or nine and one something like that going into the into the playoffs and we drew our first round uh first round we got coach on let's go ahead coach coach faucet you there buddy yes sir i'm here all right man you okay this morning i know that was that was quite a ball game last night in Randolph County i mean you guys went down there on the road to a team and i think if i'm not mistaken was five and one when y'all played them last night and y'all come away with a huge win yes yeah they were five and one we were one and five going in you know it was uh it was one of those games where uh everybody probably more than likely had us ticked to lose by a lot and uh and it was uh it was just an electric mic you know first uh first offensive play for them they fumbled and and we get the fumble back and the third offensive play for us we fumbled back to the end so uh in my mind i thought man we had momentum and we lost it and um yeah and the guys just you know we ended up giving up a score the guys come back we get a score um our kicking game is not good as far as extra points so we're we're a go for two team and um teams have you know point points are are important so uh we converted on all the one one of our two point conversions last night which was uh ultimately a huge huge deal for us uh to get that to get to that 36 mark uh late in the game um but man just just played really really well uh my my all-purpose guy right now in Sims is uh man he's he's something special he's he's really a leader um with his with his physical features and just his leadership ability for our team um he has matured he's gone through the adversity that we've had this year and um man just uh proud of his efforts in helping make this team uh has some success hey coaches this is Barry Gibson i want to ask you something uh you know if you go for two every time you know a lot of coaches don't do it you know most coaches have a handful of two-point plays in their playbook you know you you have a whole playbook two-point play it sounds like uh and i know how do you know the percentages you're probably way up but how how much do y'all work on two-point plays in practice it must be a lot all right yeah yeah we we have a two-point play session that we can do twice a week and that's just what we work on is um our two-point plays uh where we want the ball you know that the hard part is like my muffins coordinator we score he knows we're going for two and i'm like look i gotta know what hash i can tell the the wrist what what hash do we want the ball mill if you want the ball right there so i'm trying to belay that to officials sometimes um because they're doing everything else and and you know i've been told before it's too late you should told me earlier i'm like well i could right so you gotta make that sounds good but you know it's uh yeah we we work on it quite a bit we uh we try to do some you know our our razzle dazzle stuff is more of our two-point play stuff it's just uh right you know one one you know it's it's not going to hurt you because if there if something bad does happen uh you throw a pic or there's a fumble or something like that hey it's it's a dead ball so all right go ahead and flow also a lot and i tell you what i tell you what the teams that you play against you know a lot of teams don't practice against uh defending two-point plays you know that may do it a little bit during the week but they don't spend a lot of time practicing on the ball yeah if a team goes for two they usually line up in a base defense you know on that kind of thing they don't know what's coming so if you know if i was coaching against you uh i would i would sleep at night i would sleep trying to figure out how we're gonna stop all these two-point plays we're visiting with coach adam faucet the head football coach for the tigers will be becoming a nice win last night 36 34 over Randolph county coach we only got about 60 seconds left here but that put you two and two in region play tied with uh Randolph county and lee scott academy now you'll take on delville on friday night that's another i mean davell excuse me that's another important ball game right yeah yeah davell's come in uh an important game uh man we we've been sitting here this morning as a like our coaching staff we've been going back and forth through text and messages and like trying to figure out the the whole scenario for before the playoff part of it i finally told him just keep winning that's right that's right that's right good advice well coach hey thank you for taking time to be with congratulations on another nice win last night and we look forward to having you back on real soon with us that i'm good thank you bye thank you there you go coach adam faucet football coach for the bp comer tigers a big win last night yeah add Randolph county yeah yeah 36 34 final that let's take a time out when we come back Amy cockro will be on the line with us right here on the tops pen and we pulled out uh the right he was the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right he's the right coach glad glad that you were here with us for this two hours you're also going to be sitting in the next hour yep for southern fairway's got a big show lined up for you we've got racetruster that's going to be on with us we've got shane allen who will be with us for shane is the director of golf at the brand new cypress creek which is the old linksman in mobile he's going to tell you all about that but we got a big show lined up for you starting at ten o'clock but guys it is time to go to our policy lieutenant communication line and welcome in the executive director of heart for athletes amy cockro amy thank you for taking time to be with us on a beautiful saturday morning good morning thank you for having me amy it's always good to hear your voice my friend and looking it was like couldn't wait to get you on this week to talk a little bit about the things you've got it going on and as we always do as we when we bring you on is for our listeners who may not know tell us a little bit about heart for athletes before we get talking about what you've got going on in february so heart for athletes is a grassroots organization that i started about ten years ago after my seemingly healthy son suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest and it it caught us all off guard but through that we realized that it affects so many youth and we just want to bring preventative measures so that kids can be saved from this condition my son was one of the survivors thankfully only 10 percent of kids survive sudden cardiac arrest or or people in general but if we had had a preventative heart screening we could have possibly identified his condition beforehand and the fact that CPR and an ad was available to him when he suffered his cardiac arrest he survived so it's those two things that we we bring education and awareness to the community about now so that we can save other people from sudden cardiac arrest you know guys i met amy gosh it's been several years ago now amy and i was had a chance to talk with her about this organization and i think and weren't we at christ the king that day uh and there were and there was a bunch of people giving away defibrillators uh to schools is that correct yes that's correct we'd organize an event or we gave i think it was 15 ad's out to the community that day and educated everybody about you know the call push shock initiative and how to respond and have all the schools that were presented with ad's that day also prepared cardiac emergency response plans which is a big thing that i'm sure a lot of your listeners have heard about that become a big initiative that everybody needs to see prepared for an event we're visiting with amy cockrell executive director of heart for athletes and mark we talked about the ad and and for folks that maybe don't know your story how important these these are and the fact that uh for for young athletes it's preventable okay it is preventable but the ad's are very important they are extremely important this is why and this is what uh amy's organization does is try to get the word out to as many people as we possibly she possibly can about ad's CPR about how to go through the things about what to look for and then they even set up screenings all across uh bone mobile in ballwin county they set up screenings at different high schools or middle schools and they go there with doctors and nurses and they screen all of the every kid in the school and uh and we found a couple at vesai when they did the screening there and that's a big undertaking tell us a little bit about that amy guess we find uh first of all that one in three hundred kids are at risk for sudden cardiac arrest so you know if we screen three hundred kids to the school that means that one is going to be found to have a potential uh for risk factor for sudden cardiac arrest and that's what we're so excited about that coming up in february uh we're part of a national organization called parent heartwatch and we're partnering with 27 other organizations across 16 states and we're the only location in alabama but we're going to be offering free heart screenings to up to 400 kids on february 1st and registration is going to open on november 1st and we're just very excited to be part of this national national initiative to bring awareness to this condition you know one of the things too is uh donations are certainly you're looking for donations and folks folks if you'd like to donate to the heart for athletes amy tell them how they can do that uh can go to part for athletes dot org and we have a donation page there all of our information is on there and also want to announce we have a uh screening event actually coming up this next week in ufala alabama near docen that there are any listeners out there be sure to send your kids to ufala screening event um and we also still need a few volunteers we can also contact me through um a heart for athletes dot org sites and sign up there you know you mentioned uh parent heartwatch you'll also have a website for for parent heartwatch as well yes and there's a landing page also for this national youth screening day again we're very excited about that we offering ecg to all the kids that participate it'll be open to children six to 20 years old we'll have a physician who can interpret the ecg's there that day we'll have hands-only cpr and ad demonstrations it's so important that you know kids get or everyone not just kids everyone know what to do when emergency happens and through our hands-only cpr classes and our we can offer uh training to the people and so they get to know you know that an ad is not a scary thing and they know how to use it if an emergency arises well also at the screening event have limited echocardiograms available uh because when we we screen people we can identify if some might have a have a problem and so we can do a limited echocardiogram there is a day of the um screening event so that's also a great opportunity to have all these things done you know all these things that Amy's talking about it's about saving lives that's the bottom line and we're talking about saving the lives of kids is where we're focal point is here but it can be work it can be for anyone any of us and uh it's just a wonderful this is a wonderful thing that Amy has started and is growing and we are so proud to be a part of of uh that growth and helping that happen and um we're just looking forward to more and more discussions with Amy about what goes on. Amy thank you so very much for joining us this morning and we really appreciate the work that you do for athletes across this country. Thank you so much it's great talking to you guys thanks so pleasure. All right girl take care of yourself what a wonderful person no she just she does such a great job and if you've ever been I've been able to witness these screenings and they take these kids in there we had a boy on our football team uh several years ago who was I think it was a senior year and he was a two-way starter force and uh he had found out he had a in large yep our athletes are in large tartan which was dangerous and we had to take him out but you know it's just and as much as you hate to do it was you know that that kid you know could have died on the field or died or could walking home right you know within a large heart so he and I love the fact that all coaches have to take their CPR courses I mean it's required now you don't get out of it because you never know what's going to happen and it happened to me and I was a head coach at Wholeful and a young lady in the band it was a Friday afternoon kids were in the locker room laying down getting ready for the game the band's there young lady was walking across campus and had a seizure oh no it went down somebody came running to me coach Gibson we you know so and so went down so I ran to already at CPR for like 20 minutes on her uh waited on the paramedics to get there and you know because of those classes I knew what to do now unfortunately she died in the hospital they said there was some kind of heart condition that you just could you know just what no one no way but uh just trying to you know just trying to savor it's just good to know that you know what to do in those classes for these coaches to get them ready because the scariest thing for coach in my opinion is for one of your kids to drop out there in that field and you go you will go run in there to him and he's not responsible right you know he is not responding or not breathing that's one of the scariest things a coach faces hope hope you never have to use it yes but if you do you know you got it and coach and and mark I know for you it's been a number of years ago now what's that been about six years ago seven years ago yeah and uh and we're gonna talk to the guy who did the CPR here man Bill Lazenby and uh he's one of my dearest friends there's no doubt there's no doubt it is we're great guy really good boy coach field last me with very sure he's coming up next but real quick you can go to heart for athletes dot or for more information we encourage you to do that hey don't go anywhere like we said coach field last me he is up next right here on the Thompson tractor prep sports report welcome back to the Thompson tractor prep sports report call or text the prep sports report at two five one three four three zero one oh six on the Pops Market communication lines now back to the show and we welcome you back to the Thompson tractor prep sports report Randy Bergen along with coach Mark Laster coach Barry Gibson sitting in for coach Cleveland today and guys would go back to our Pops Midtown communication line welcome in a good friend of ours he is a head football coach for the Eagles of Bay Shore Christian School field last meal in the line with us coach how are you doing my man i'm doing well thank you always good to have you having seen you in a little bit but i do want to say congratulations uh you got it you had a nice win uh last night as you defeat central haneville 28 26 at their field so uh man off to a good start how how you have you been doing talk a little about this offense you got well he's run by our quarterback he's he's a great kid uh good size young man but the only thing is he's a singer and he's only 16 years old and he's already a senior in high school and so this is good yeah yeah this is the last year i have him but you know his first year it's been really good he he also was our starting inside linebacker so there you go tough yeah he's a tough kid Nate is David Nate Cruz good baseball player good athlete over all around and uh you know we've got you know i've got a couple of seniors that play on offensive line which do well and you know i'm proud of the kids i really am you know we're young i've only got those uh six upperclassmen and then all the rest of them are i've been both my most of them are ninth graders i've start i've start on the whole team we start four ninth graders so goodness three young group that sounds familiar that's what i had expanded for yeah i had no senior class feel you remember this i had no seniors we had like three juniors you know the rest of them were freshmen and in sophomore spring good so i know what you're going through buddy been down that road before oh it's uh a lot of times you know that they'll make a lot of mistakes and then you really realize you know hey these kids are like 13 years old you know right right yeah you're building for the future though buddy keep building for the future i think we've got a chance to be you know better in the coming years so if i can hang in there well i feel i think you know i looked at y'all's uh record and man i'm just telling you you guys are have won two games right now first year's of team is played a varsity schedule first time ever and uh they are still and you got chickasaw j u blacker and jf shield still coming down the turn pike and you know i i look at that schedule feel and i think you guys as you keep if you can keep improving and and and not you know get any injuries that are you know just be so difficult to overcome you guys got a chance to uh to win three three three more games and have one of just a fantastic season bud well you know we expect to win you know we don't we don't always have the ability to but we expect it when work towards that uh they you know j_u blackshire is a really really good football team guys they they're from top to bottom they're as good as anybody in our in our region they're as good as i mean they they took clark county to the to the wire and uh right they're good but you know we we've got an op we have an opportunity to win a couple more games but we'll have to play hard play well because just the inexperience and you know our secondary last night the college kid in our secondary last night is uh five seven so wow you know a lot of people that throw it up over the top of us and we have a little trouble that why y'all why y'all what berry why are you looking at me you've got a lot of you got a lot of randy bergas and mark last night wow wow that hurts it's true but it hurts i didn't need to hurt those feelings really it wouldn't be filled out of your guilt that's exactly right that's all we're busy we're busy with coach phil ladsby the head football coach for the eagles of bayshore nice win over central handle 2826 last night and uh coach talked a little bit about and we were talking about this earlier one of the things that that that i find so unique with you and your coaching is how you can take uh minimum and make maximum out of it i can remember all the years we did we did play by play for uh for bayside when you were there and how we could go into places not like daleville daleville go over there those places and and you go in and you see nothing but athletes gorda one of the best gorda one of the best games we've ever called and watched and you go into a place and you're able to to make the adjustments and and run an offense that just keeps people they don't know which way to go you you misdirection on everything talk about the offense that you're running right now with bayshore well it's the same you know same thing we're we run we have to run a little bit more of the misdirection simply because we're we're not athletic enough right now um and but boy they they give effort you know and these kids and you know we'll sometimes end up running the same play four or five times in a row if they're going to give it to us you know we're gonna take it last night we threw the ball twice we threw the ball two times and both for both for big plays though both were big plays and one was a third and like 22 and we pick up a first down just because people aren't you know expecting us to throw the ball which is i know highly unusual for me but we you know the quarter of a quarter that runs it runs the program pretty well he runs the program pretty well and i've got i got i got some good guys that work with me two got two parents both of them played college football they don't they don't get paid a penny you know and they're there every day and then i've got David Stapleton which i you know i couldn't do this without him and uh so you know the kids are good they're nice they're really good kids and i've got some good guys uh working with them so it's it's not bad it's good but we'll visit with coach field last week the head football coach for the eagles of bayshore mark we got about two minutes left you know coach um i saw your middle school team play this year and they're having a pretty decent little season you know i was watching them and they're coming on and you got old quarterback is a good player tell us a little bit about how that feeder program will feed into y'all next year yeah most of those kids are six seventh graders i think there's only like i think there's only like six or seven eight graders and there's like 14 uh i mean eight graders and about 14 seventh graders so we'll have to wait a little bit for those and most of those are linemen so that's what of course that's what i'm looking for right you know we can get just about anybody to hold on to a football and run behind somebody that's blocking uh it's just getting the blocking down where it's most important and and i think that you know that that group has a chance to be good that they've lost one game and that was to a bayside but you're not going to be to anybody when you when you lose five fumble so we lost about five times in that game and and we're not going to be to anybody you know and bayside did a good job. Coach we had about a minute a minute and a half left here of course you got Chickasaw coming up Chickasaw right now has a uh two and five record one and three in region play talk about your preparation for that ball game well i've seen them briefly you know playing some of the teams that we've already played you know looking at video and they're very similar to us and they're they're faster than we are and they're bigger than we are but as far as the numbers you know we've met number wise it's about the same so we won't be playing a team with 40 players you know they'll have about 25 to 27 just like us uh they're they've got some athletes uh that they always do and um we're just going to have to you know not turn the ball over and and play good uh office and defense and get David really working hard on that uh defense as he does every week tell him not to be so grumpy will he is sometimes you have to but he gets in that mode you know there you go it is always fun to hang out with you by the way if uh you're looking for two has been play-by-play color analyst to do any ball games for you me and Barry or him here we yes sir you got us okay we got we got we've got one home ganglasm and no it can't jay you black sure call us next year that's right yeah you feel always good to hang out with you bro the great talk with you and uh and man just congrats on on what you do in their abacial you got it well thank you very much guys i appreciate it thank you feel good talking to you bud that's right see buddy sorry to hear about major i'll tell you that right now brought tears to my eyes yeah yeah i think he's already oh yeah major was it was it german chairman chairman lost let's take a time out when we come back we're going to get caught up on some local scores from last night's ball games welcome back to the Thompson tractor prep sports report brought to you by alpha insurance now back to your host randy bergann see you know you got to let that roll babies in a run around hanging with the crowd put your business in the street and we'll stop there you go there you go hey welcome back to their prep sports report the Thompson tractor prep sports board randy bergann along with coach mark lassar and coach berry gifts coach cleave is now playing a little golf this weekend club championship out here at quilgree for broadcasting i'll tell you what it is uh it's a gorgeous weekend i do want to mention uh let's let's keep the folks that are we're in the path of helene hurricane helene and milton keep them in your thoughts and prayers uh boy i'll tell you what it has been a mess and uh a lot a lot of devastation there's no doubt about it so so certainly keep them in your thoughts and prayers let me go and give you some scores from uh some local scores and i'll just kind of bounce around here baker over foley 41 7 daphne over alma brian 27 16 to find their car county 37 chickasaw eight leflor over elberta 26 14 bayshore defeats central haneyville uh 28 26 we had coach philasme on in the last segment talking about that ball game congratulations to them mark bayside picks up a win over college hill 27 7 the final of that mary mugg got me defeats fair hope 35 20 spanish fort overguff shores 31 15 the jackson no problem with the orange beach 40 to 13 the final on that davidson over roberstill 29 to 3 southern academy 50 h nook 6 mcgill tolin over blunt 24 6 citroneel over bc rain and a close one 22 21 the final there ballou no problem with childersburg 48 8 winter pearl 27 woodland 20 bb calmer over randoff county at randoff county 36 34 the final on that silicaga uh in a close with the marbaric gets the win marbor excuse me gets the win 7 0 and st michael over mobile christian 45 to 35 so just some local scores from from around the area you know as we get this time of year we get into region region play everybody starts really starting to take a look at it as you get this far end because everybody's got four or five sometimes six or seven games already played in region and the the region i always like to watch this time of year is six a region one because it is the toughest one toughest every year it doesn't matter what classification that is uh that's extremely tough of course we had uh spanish fort toros coach chase smith on earlier they talking about those toros you know in spanish fort is sitting at uh seven and one five and one in region they've got st pauls coming up on their schedule uh last game of the year there's six and one four and one in region they've got mcgill two and next i think they have a week off and then they play mcgill two and mcgill two and is four and three three and two in region and so as you look at these teams uh they're all kind of jammed in there together uh and it could be you know what you've got seraland at six and oh you've got um a theater and golf shorts both at two and three which are capable of beating a lot of teams so this is going to get really crazy toward the end of this last few weeks uh in region play here in six a guys let me ask you how do you go in how do you prepare for that because whether you had a wonderful six or seven earlier games whether you've undefeated or you've lost a couple of games you know that you're trying to get into region play and you have a chance because most of the time you're last two out of the three games or region play uh how do you get the guys prepared for that because you one of those two ballgames could put you in postseason play first thing i've always wanted to do is i was going to make sure i didn't leave any stone unturned you know as far as our coaching staff and what we did to prepare to teach our kids the game plan for what was coming up and yet don't make it too difficult don't try to do more than you can really do just do what you could do what you do and do what you do well just like Chase Smith was talking about there's certain bread and butter plays you got to have that if you're a forte you just figure out how to run them better against whatever you're coming up against yeah i think another thing too is injuries comes into play it's late in the season you've got kids banged up maybe some key players so i always uh approached it as you said Randy i kind of backed off and practiced a little bit you know so maybe not as physical of a practice as it was earlier in the season uh try to get those kids healed up because region play it's everything you know it's like it has a whole new season you know so you got to get your kids well and healed up from injuries after particularly this late in season well you know because a lot of times too i mean if you're going all the way to state playoffs if you make it that far you're playing basically another half of a season yeah that's another four or five games that you're playing uh do you do you start throwing any trick plays in or you just say hey this is what we've been doing this this is who we brought to the dance and that's what's going to take us to the to the state turn our state playoffs or do you say hey let's throw in a little trickery here in case we need it do you go off script a look yeah i think you know like berry berry just said you always got to have one you know at least one area and a new one try to come up with something the kids love it you know that kind of gives them excited but at the end of the day you better be getting good at what you do offensively and defensively make sure your kicking game is sound and all the in it but then have something in your hip pocket that might break a game open for that that was what i was going to ask you to is how important is your special special teams during postseason it's huge think about think about right now every saturday and sunday how many games in college and pro football come down to a field goal at the end of the game right it comes it seems like it's every week and it's the same thing but to me in high school ball the most important thing for me is our punt team and kick off team yep i want to we want i want feel taught me this years ago um about always have a good punter that punter can change the field position field position is the key that in turnovers to me win close games if you can win both of those things you're going to win and so it's the same thing and then you kick off guy you want that guy to kick the ball in the zone if you can get a kid to kick it in the end zone they start on the 20 that's 80 yards every time right and that just makes it more difficult on high school offenses berrywood you know you saw the same thing as you coming through your career oh absolutely uh and a lot coaches don't put on enough emphasis on the kicking game you know but it is so so important because it just takes one you know punt going off the side of his foot that goes 10 yards to turn a whole a game around the whole motivation changes so you know you got to be ready for that and and talking about trick plays if you haven't done it during the year you might want to start working on fake punts you know coming up for the region games those kind of things if you haven't done it earlier in the year we used to do that and I would you still got to make it fun too uh I was going to address that while I go Randy that you do things so the kids like you said more the trick plays are fun uh you you take your ice take well we didn't have big lamb in but if you had a 250 pound or 280 pound lemon you might put him in the backfill and practice and hand it to him on the one yard line and let the big boy get it in and the kids can't open up and I used to do that and the kids love it man I mean they absolutely and of course the kid the the lineman loves it so you do things like that to try to keep it fun it's been a long grueling season the the hot two of days you know back in August and now you're right here toward the end week eight week nine you've got to find a way to keep those kids having fun. Barry you're exactly right I'm you think about how it works now most teams start second or third week of June start working out three times a week sometimes four some schools go five you know for at some point but they go you know let's just say you go four days a week for most of the summer you get a couple maybe a week or two off but those kids have been going for three weeks in June three weeks in July usually maybe four weeks now seven weeks six or seven weeks before the season ever starts exactly and then the season starts and it is a grind all the way through to the end that's going to be the first week of first Monday of August until the first Friday in November is regular season you've got to give those kids a chance to get their legs back under them to rest a little bit to keep excited about it keep excited about playing and that's a difficult that's what I was going to ask you is the motivational side of it because it seems like after 10 weeks of playing and you know you're going through all the practice and just it can wear on you not just mentally but physically as well how do you keep them motivated to get to the to get to the end well it's just one of those things where you know if you're in still in the playoff hunt it's not as hard as long as you're in the playoff hunt you're because the way we look way we look at it is the playoffs is a whole new season everybody zero and zero I don't care where you are who you are I remember we were I was going to tell the story earlier Benjamin Russell we're finished we were I think we were area champs Steve was a head coach and we played Robert E. Lee in the first round of the playoffs what a draw you know here comes Robert E. Lissis back in the 90s you know and they were really rocking and rolling and they come walking in with a five and five record five and five well and they beat us like 28 to 22 it was a close game hard fought game they went on with that five and five record and I think they either won the state championship or it got beaten the semifinals or got beat them they had a great they finished with a great run it's all I remember but you go back and look who they lost they lost moss point back in those days you know they had some ball players speaking of which yes speaking of which somebody just got put in the hall of fame right there at this point one Barry Gibson yes sir just a couple of weeks ago but you know you get in that situation and no in those kids from Lee based they were they hey they're still got a breath and it's their last team in their region but they walk in there start getting hot and win and then boom next thing you know they're in playing for the title and I'd say something else Mark and you know this as a head coach not only do you have to keep your players that having fun and interested from burning out you got to keep coaching staff yeah from burnout you know they work in those long long hours and you got to do some things to keep your staff motivated because they're tired you know maybe they won't get their best effort in practice so you got to you got to do some things to keep that staff motivated to ring well I got to ask you a question I'm gonna turn from from high school for a second to turn to college all right because we're all about my fans and how good is Ryan Williams 17 years old out of Sierra land yeah he's pretty good I mean he's pretty good in high school too yes okay he is amazing in in college ball right now he really is he's fun to watch you know and he watching him you know you remember you look at the guy and he just plays he plays I watch him he's like he's just joyful like he's playing out in the yard playing backyard football that's right I'll never get over that cut he made on that Georgia TV so he caught the ball they were about to and that guy's going in the first round yeah and all of a sudden he sticks his foot in the ground they almost run into each other he runs around the edge of him goes for a touchdown like this is what I did in the backyard for 15 years you know I still do it I'm doing it so I'm gonna do it on the biggest stage and so yeah that was fun to walk I heard I heard the bore in an interview coach the bore say that you know right now you got a 17 year old kid sitting in that locker room with all those great athletes and they know he's the he's the go-to guy right you know he's becoming a leader in his 17 to me that's just amazing yeah that's awesome all right look we're gonna take our final timeout when we come back coach Laster has our camp grace segment right here on the Thompson tractor prep sports report this segment of the Thompson tractor prep sports report brought to you by Camp Grace now back to coach Rick Cleveland Camp Grace is located in West Mobile is the summer home of Camp Rappahope Camp Mash Camp Smile and Camp Sugar Falls as well as the home of Outback Mobile and is shared by many other community organizations throughout the mobile area Camp Grace is a place where God's love is bestowed freely upon others the true definition of God's grace you know I came across this scripture Monday of this week I was doing a little quiet time and I read this and it was really really kind of caught me didn't you can take it however you want to read it and to the level you want to take it but in Romans 12 17 through 21 it says never pay back evil with more evil do things in such a way that everyone can see that you are honorable do all you can to live in peace with everyone dear friends never take revenge leave that to the righteous anger of God for the scripture says I will take revenge I will pay them back says the Lord instead if your enemies are hungry feed them if they are thirsty give them something to drink in doing this you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads think about that one while yeah heaping coals of shame on their heads don't let evil conquer you but conquer evil by doing good boy you know and I I read that and you can take the level of you can take you know a lot of times when you hear the word evil you're thinking of something drastic murder or something of that but I'm not talking about the evil can come in many many many forms it can come in people's opinion of who you are or what you are and try to make you look lesser so they can feel greater that's evil it can be that somebody does something to you to undermine your reputation your authority who you are whatever that may be so how we respond and I talk about this a lot because I am I you know I whether I like it or not I was born to my mom and daddy were great people but the last sitter side of the family has has a bit of a temper okay it always has had and I can remember the story and and and I can tell I can my daddy's 88 and his brother Jerry is 86 I believe and both of you know still I talked to dad yesterday and he asked him how uncle Jerry was doing and uncle Jerry's struggling with cancer but he's been on oxygen for a long time but he still still gets up on Sunday he'll cook lunch for all of his kids and all the grandkids I'll come back to that awesome and that awesome anyway dad was telling me a story that when they were playing baseball out in coach Bend Alabama which is in the middle of nowhere he's in the bend of the Cusa River near Hoke's bluff is where it's close to in Glencoe and Gadsden anyway daddy's pitching and Jerry's catching okay this is I'm just trying to give you an example of the temper of of the last sitter side of the family now we've all tried to conquer it a little bit but sometimes it still rises ugly head daddy's pitching and Jerry wants him to throw a certain pitch and daddy don't want to throw it and they keep and he keeps changing the pitch and daddy finally he was calling for a curve ball my daddy threw a fastball he said yes I'll throw the curve ball then he throws a fastball and a hand cuff my uncle and he kind of ball hit him in the chest well he takes the ball walks out there toward the mound and my granny told me I'll never forget that she says and your daddy walked off that mound toward him and she said before anybody could do anything the two of them had gotten into the big bang fight you have ever seen right there between home plate and the mound and they fought for about 50 they couldn't get them apart they were both of them had bloody noses black eye and said finally when they got through they dusted himself off and dad went back to the mound and Jerry went back behind the plate and they started playing the ball game again so I'm saying all that just I'm making a kind of a story that our temper sometimes can can take us places we don't need it to take and the bible tells us conquer evil with good try to you know if you got somebody who doesn't like you or they're you know be be more nice to them than they should me what's the old story about keep your enemies close you know or keep your friends close and your enemies closer and it's that kind of thing you know but to try to break down that problem why why throw gas on it why continue to throw gas on it and make the problem bigger rather than you know I can I can do better than this and I have to think about that a lot I get aggravated at things and people do things that they don't or they don't do their job and I want to say man do your job it's really not my point I'll tell you that that part of the scripture you read mark about you know don't take revenge on others well I'm gonna have to ask forgiveness for on that one for sure book about taking revenge oh no because in my life people you know have really angered me and took me off and I immediately wanted to you know fire back but tell ya every telly in my wife and I bless her Robin is is we're so opposite she is the peacemaker she is calm and I don't know how many times I would get bore so heated and ready to go after somebody or say something somebody should say just let it go it just let it go and uh trying to calm me down so I appreciate her trying to do that but that that's so true it's so easy to just fire back and won't revenge when sometimes when you just back off it really probably doesn't you know makes them matter then if you went after them about something because I've had some parents over the years of coaching you know I wanted to go up in the stands and just you know beat the heck out of him you know and I'll stop there but that you have those situations you know but that is so true we shouldn't you know seek revenge so I love that scripture it's just something I think is meaningful to me it's something that I need to work on every day I mean I have to all the time and it may not be even losing my temper it just mean may an attitude I get you know and I got to work on that because it's just not worth it y'all it's just not worth it and I get upset about stuff people who don't do their things are supposed to do it work or whatever at the end of the day all I'm supposed to do is what I'm supposed to do whatever happens after that somebody else is due you know after that so anyway that's what was on my heart today and uh and I know that went into a crystal hamburger place in Birmingham and told off everybody in the hamburger place Randy you probably know that guy don't you that's one of the funniest things I ever seen I'll tell you that that was a little anger going on there it was uh it was uh much called for I'll be honest with you but uh no hey it's been a fun show Barry I'm glad you were here filled in for Rick Mark is always great job today congratulations to base out again how do you have Friday night oh we got a big one we go to exhale exhales got a good little football team yep now TR Miller beat him 35 nothing or 45 nothing last night something like that TR Miller is really good and that's all you're going that game is coming up in two weeks okay you're going to exhale going to exhale I can remember doing a doing ball game there and uh that that press box big 89 was helping me at that time and or he was I think he was on the sideline Barry might have been you if they're with me yeah he was on sideline and uh just a little just a little bit of movement rocking that press box would write back and forth and I'm like man are we good up here I mean because it was moving it was it does wiggle a little bit yeah so good luck to you thanks Randy I'm not going to take revenge on you for scaring me to death here on Saturday morning on
