R. Kelly was at one time considered one of the top R&B talents in the world. Kelly was facing some new charges that had to do with child pornography and enticement, and he was found guilty on several of these new charges. Now this comes after he was already found guilty previously in federal court in New York. Now this new case is being heard in Chicago, and it stems from those original charges that we heard about a long time ago. You know, the P tape and all of the other disgusting gross behavior. Well, that stuff all finally came home, and those chickens came home to roost. And now R. Kelly is going to be going to prison for a very, very long time. And I say good for him, because people like this, look, they think they can get away with it. This guy was operating for many, many years. He avoided going to jail several different times, and it seems like if you have a couple of bucks, at the very least, you can kick the can down the road. Now if you have a couple of bucks and some friends that are in politics, forget kicking the can down the road, you can kick the can down the interstate, as we've seen with Epstein. But that only goes so far when you don't have political contacts, when you don't have friends who are sitting in gigantic financial offices. And while R. Kelly might have had a lot of money, he certainly didn't have any political affiliations. He didn't have any friends that were running around in the halls of power of the Justice Department. And well, you see the result. Today's article is from CNN, Headline. R. Kelly convicted of multiple child pornography and enticement charges, acquitted on others. This article was authored by Sonya Moghi. R. Kelly was convicted of multiple child pornography charges at a Chicago federal trial, and acquitted on others. Kelly was convicted on three of four counts of production of child pornography, and three of five counts of enticement of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity. I mean, think about how heinous that is. He was convicted on three of four counts of production of child pornography. So this sick bastard is sitting here, basically directing a pornography of children. And when you look at the overall behavior exhibited by R. Kelly for all of these years, I don't know how you come to any other conclusion, besides the fact that this dude was a predator, a rapist, and a molester. He was acquitted on one count each of conspiracy to obstruct justice and conspiracy to receive child pornography, as well as two counts of receiving child pornography. So there were several counts that they couldn't find enough evidence to sink them on. But the things that they did charge them with, the things that he was found guilty of, all heinous. Jennifer Bonjean, Kelly's attorney, said her client had a sense of relief, that this case is now behind them, and felt that prosecutors had overblown their case against them. Bonjean said she is considering filing an appeal. Go for it, waste more of this dude's money. See, the idea is that this guy gets sent into the poor house by litigating this, and then doesn't have a comfortable run of it while he's in prison. You see, when you have money, it doesn't matter if your galain max, well, R. Kelly, or R. Bob the Great. If you have a bunch of dough and you're in a federal prison, things are going to be a little more comfortable for you because you're going to be able to do it a commissary. You're going to be able to make your life a little more comfortable. But if you have no money, and if you get litigated into the poor house, like R. Kelly is on his way to doing, then things are going to be a lot different for you inside of that jailhouse, inside of that prison. If this jury concluded that he was guilty on the first three counts, would they care enough to consider the evidence on the rest? And they demonstrated that they did. They did their job. They looked at each count separately. Bonjean said outside the court, following the verdict. Imagine being happy about a verdict that came back and slapped your client with three out of five charges in one aspect, and then three or four charges in another part of the case, and you come out and act like that's good. You're doing a victory lap? What that tells me is you have a sick-ass client. That's all it tells me. Jur has deliberated for about 10 hours after listening to three weeks' worth of testimony, including one woman who testified anonymously that Kelly sexually abused her and recorded the interactions when she was as young as 14. The woman was one of five minors who prosecutors allege, Kelly sexually abused in the late 1990s by making explicit videos with four of them. So we're talking about the late 1990s too. This guy had to have the old VHS camera out the whole thing. It wasn't like he just had his cell phone and was like, "You know what, spur of the moment, let's record this." Bro had it planned out, had the camera out, had the big-ass VHS tapes, the whole thing. Two of Kelly's former associates acquitted. Kelly's co-defendants, Daryl McDavid and Milton Brown, were acquitted of all charges that they faced. McDavid, Kelly's former accountant and business manager, was charged with conspiracy to receive child pornography, receiving child pornography, and conspiracy to obstruct justice. Brown, Kelly's former assistant, was charged with conspiracy to receive child pornography, both pleaded not guilty. So you need a lot to get charges like that to stick, right? And obviously, prosecution didn't have enough to wrap up R. Kelly's associates here with them. And obviously, the number one goal for them, was to get R. Kelly. Vatum Glosman and Bo Brinley, attorneys for McDavid, praised the verdict in a statement to CNN. Oh, I bet they did. Always a good day when you walk out of the courtroom and your clients don't get convicted on federal charges. Because we all know that federal court and the federal government has like a 97% conviction rate. And that comes on the back of them having more resources than the people that they're litigating against. The jury found what we knew all along. The government brought a case that should have never been brought. It was based on the word of proven liars, the attorney said. We exposed them in front of the jury and the jury made the right decision. CNN has reached out for attorneys for Kelly and Brown, for comment. That's the right way to do it if you're a lawyer. Expose the BS. You don't have to go on a campaign of hatred the way Epstein's lawyers did. Expose the bullshit in court if there's bullshit to expose. That's how this works. Do your job as a lawyer. Cross-examine them, trip them up, and get them to lie on the stand. But going out on an all out attack on people who are alleging that they have been violently assaulted is just not the proper way to go about things. And people don't look on it too favorably these days. Victim testified about sexual abuse. One of the witnesses in the trial, a 37 year old woman, spoke in federal court under the pseudonym Jane, and testified Kelly began engaging in sex acts with her when she was 14 and had sexual intercourse with her, starting when she was 15. They had sex hundreds of times before she turned 18, she said. So when you have this kind of testimony against you, and you're a guy like R. Kelly, who is already convicted on similar charges, the jury pool is not going to look too kindly on you. Jane testified she met Kelly through her aunt Sparkle, who worked with R. Kelly, and had a romantic relationship with him. Jane was 12 or 13 when she met the singer. So the aunt here, Sparkle, I mean, come on auntie Sparkle, I know you're not shining, if you're letting your little niece run into a sexual predator like R. Kelly. And if you continue to work for the dude, after he's molesting your niece, what does that say about you? Because I have a hard time believing, nobody was the wiser what was happening here. I have a hard time believing that Sparkle had no idea what was happening. At the time, at the time Jane traveled the world with a Christian hip-hop group, whose members were cousins of hers. Prosecutors asked her not to identify the name of the group in order to protect her identity. So she's out here part of a Christian hip-hop group. And while she's out here speaking the word of God, she's being molested by R. Kelly. The guy dating her aunt, who is named Sparkle, you can't make this shit up. This is like the plot to some real crazy-ass TV show. Shortly after they met, Jane said she began spending more time with Kelly and Sparkle. She would watch Kelly and Sparkle record music and talk about basketball and music with Kelly. Jane testified she was 13 when Sparkle suggested Jane should ask Kelly to play a bigger role in her life. Looks to me like Sparkle anti-Sparkle over here was acting in the role of a groomer. Now, was she? I don't know. But from what we know and what the evidence is saying, certainly look like she was playing that role. Either willingly or unwillingly. - Hey Amazon Prime members. Look, I am not a father, right? I have no children, but I have to tell you, if I did, they wouldn't be staying the night anywhere without my 100% confidence in that person. And certainly not with some man like R. Kelly. I mean, I would be hard pressed to let my kids stay anywhere without proper supervision. Somebody I really, really trusted. Because you just don't know. You just don't know who you're dealing with these days, unfortunately. They would pretty much drop me off and then leave Jane testified. Jane said she was 14 when her relationship with Kelly became sexual and that she lost her virginity to him when she was 15. And look, again, I don't know. This is speculation on my part, okay? I just want to be very clear about that. Seems to me that everybody around this girl, Jane, had an idea of what R. Kelly was and what he was doing and they put her in this situation for their own gain. Knowing that she was going to get some money from R. Kelly or whatever it is. And that's what the optics look like here. When the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services began investigating an allegation, Kelly was having a sexual relationship with Jane in April of 2000. When she was 15, Jane testified that she denied the relationship. She also testified, she later denied the Chicago police investigators. She and Kelly had a sexual relationship. You see that a lot. Little girls who have been groomed, they don't want to get this guy in trouble, right? So they're going to lie for him. Or they're going to say, "Oh, no, that never happened." When in reality, it did. Jane, her parents and Kelly met for a meeting when reports began surfacing in 2002 about the existence of a tape showing the pair engage in sex acts. She said Kelly admitted to them he was having a sexual relationship with their daughter. So that was the only time you guys found out, huh? The only time you folks knew was after they told you. Okay, if you say so. Jane and her father received subpoenas to testify before a grand jury in 2002. Jane testified that prior to appearing before the grand jury, she had a conversation with Kelly about loyalty and denying our relationship and the sex tape. Basically, that's called coaching. He was coaching her for what to say if the authorities ever became the wiser about what was cracking off. So that definitely lends to the case that the prosecutors are trying to make. Jane testified she lied to a grand jury in 2002 when she denied to having a sexual relationship and appearing in sex videos with the singer. So obviously she was younger, they were being paid, she didn't want to get R Kelly in trouble, so she lied to the investigators and the grand jury. But thankfully, these chickens have come home to roost and this scumbag R Kelly, well, he was convicted on a bunch of these charges. So this disgusting, rotten bastard won't be hurting anybody anytime soon and I don't believe he'll be able to fly in that jail cell.
