The Dom Giordano Program
Why is it Wrong for Vance to Claim his Hillbilly Heritage?

Full Hour | In today’s second hour, Dom continues the Dom Giordano Program by continuing the conversation about the upcoming election, playing back a clip from Kentucky Governor Beshear who suggests that Vance is using a stolen identity in claiming his familial history as hillbillies. Dom delves into this topic, asking what defines somebody, and whether Vance is rightful in his claim, taking a call from an emotional listener who refuses to let go of his identity of a West Virginian even though he now lives in New Jersey. Then, Dom welcomes back in Jeff Katz, host of the Jeff Katz Show Live Weekdays from 3-6PM on Newsradio 96.1FM down in Richmond, Virginia. Dom invited Katz on after news came out that Republican Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance will be visiting Virginia in hopes that Republicans can solidify the state as a Republican vote in the upcoming election. Katz tells us how Virginians are seeing Vance, noting his relatability, particularly for those in the Appalachia portion of the state in the Southwest. Also, Katz offers his thoughts on potential running mates for Kamala Harris, and explains why he thinks Glenn Youngkin would’ve been a great selection as VP as well. (Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images)
