Hello listeners, I come to the Five Year Plan podcast. Hold 138, sponsored by Vector Printing, or your print and embroidery needs. Go to vector.co.uk/that/spector wither. We've got a trio tonight, because there's no James Endicott. He's somewhere. I don't know. Don't worry. It's best friends over from America who ever told us in such a way that made us unhappy that we weren't his best friends. He broke the news to us that he had a real best friend. Did he? I missed that. That's probably because last time I saw you slunked outside the Porsche's arms. There's no James Endicott tonight, but we have got Kevin Day. Hello. And Andy Street. Hi. There we go. Good stuff. So, I don't know how you guys are going to feel, but it's going to be another downbeat pod, because Palace of Lost again, two in a row now, at home to. I'm not having this. You started the last pod for optimism, all joy, and promoting some form of charity event. He's not quite recalled, but I really did think at the time I wanted to know the outcome of that particular charity. I have a charity event that was in the outcome of it. I have actually got it written down on my notepad. Would that have been the charity football match? Yes. That's the one. How did it go? It goes on about quite a lot, doesn't it? Yeah, where you have to play for the crowd. No, because I wasn't going to play this year. I was late. I was late. Cool. I was just going to go and watch. I could just not. How did it go? We lost on penalties. Oh, that makes a chase. Again. What was that second word? Lost, was it? Yeah. Lost. Well, technically we drew in normal time. We said like it's true. We drew. But we did lose it. How many times does that mean technically Chelsea didn't win the Champions League when they won on Cleveland? Yeah. I still want to say that. Yeah, I think we should share. I think we should share. I did score my penalty in the shoe out, no. So I did mine. So that's the main thing, really. That's the main thing. I mean, the team lose in. Muah, you scoring. I'm amazed he didn't mention that in the intro then, if you scored his penalty. Well, he barely mentioned it. He barely mentioned it on Saturday. They keep a good hand to it, so it wasn't the greatest penalty in the world. But they did raise 13,000 pounds on the night. So that's a good thing. You probably mentioned the name of the charity, shouldn't we? It was the Robert Eats and Memorial Fund match played down at Brighton, down at Lewis FC. The dripping pan. Dripping pan. One of the best names for a stadium ever. The best name for a stadium ever. There's... No, I bet there's better. We have the JD thinking set turns. There's just a half-destruct. I've distracted him now, haven't I? There's a team. There's a team in Switzerland who's called like... The Wankdorf. The Wankdorf. The Wankdorf. The Wankdorf, yeah. The Wankdorf in Richard Keeter. A baby. No, I wouldn't. I really wouldn't wave Richard Keeter. The Wankdorf is the hairiest man in the world. Okay. Well, I... Sleeps in a tyre. Sleeps in a tyre. Sleeps in a tyre. No, as in apes sleeping on a tyre. Oh. Right. What was the question? Wankdorf is a bit... I'd say that's up there with the dripping pan. Yeah. See, now if somebody... If that's the part of the pod they start listening to, all they're going to hear is you say, "What was the question?" Wankdorf. Sound like a post-person requesting something. Shall we talk about Saturday then? Yeah. Do we have to? Have we finished on the rent? Yeah. So, rent free loss, but they raised money. And next year's game might be at the Amics. So... I feel like a bigger crowd. Well, they really do need the money, right? There you go. Not just rent, right? They're there. Just a crowd. But also, well done to everyone that played in rent and organized it and stuff, because it was all very good and all for charity. Well, part of the Paris team. Yeah. Obviously. How many times on penalties is that now? It's about seven times on penalties. Okay. Seven times we haven't lost in normal time. Actually. Oh, there's a lack of bottle there. There you go. I've thought every penalty I've ever taken just for the three out of three. So, okay. There you go. Right. The Paris actual team had a game against Hull. Another former manager back at Cellhurst. Another defeat. Another lackluster performance plays on the beach. Well, I was tempted to turn up to this pod in a similar fashion, lie back, just wear flip flops, because, yeah, they're pretty much on the beach, aren't they? It was worse than the lacklustre. I mean, the week before was lacklustre, but we arguably deserve to be West Brom. This was, I mean, first of all, I have to say that is possibly the worst referee in this part, certainly in the Premier League. And it's the first time I've ever genuinely felt that a referee might actually want the other team to win. It was mystifyingly bad, especially the decision to allow their first goal and to just... Clear handle. Clear handle. Clear handle, and to disallow our goal. It's a no-growth goal, yeah. The less the whole players were on their way back to the centre circle, you can see Clayton were looking for reasons to disallow, and he found one because of that ginger-headed cheat. Apparently, Wolf has said after the game that he spoke to Clayton Berg, and Clayton Berg said, well, they were both pulling each other, and then Wolf's words, well, doesn't that even it out? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's smart land that, Wolf. Yeah. But having said that, it would have been the travesty if we had got anything out of the game, because whole were better than us from the kickoff. Yeah. And it's slightly worrying, because at the half time, we were all waiting for half time as we fought. We were all sort that out. And it didn't look like anything had changed, attitudes hadn't changed, tactics hadn't changed. And you really couldn't point to anyone. I think Swarri was the only one that you could say had a half-decent game, had proper... His energy levels were where they should be. Jen and I was... Somebody's got to take Punching's Perlo videos away from him, because he's got to simply stop standing around in that sort of... Although, if he grew that beard, then that would be decent. He'd just got to stop Swarri about looking for the passes that are going to be on. Well, it's because he goes too deep, because he goes too deep, he needs to be paying further forward. Jen, I... There's something clearly wrong with Jen, I... The defence needs to sort itself out. And we've lost nine games at home this season, which is, yeah, everyone talks about carrying impetus into the... I'm quite glad that we've got Chelsea Maganite and Liverpool to play, because they need to raise the game for that. Have we been found out? Little bit. Yeah. I think... Yeah. I think it's quite a small sample size, though. It is, but I think... I've got to make it as a whole, if I don't think it would have travelled with any fear, you only have to look at the stats. We've already lost eight home games, and anybody watching the game the week before from home would have thought this is a team that we can beat. And I thought they hats off to them for their positive approach, but we knew that, because we talked in last week's pod about the fact they had 20 shots on target against Southampton. The most shots on target from the way it is. So we knew they'd come at us, and we all thought that would play into our hands. I generally thought it was the first time for ages, and I said it out loud in the pod last week for the first time in ages. I thought we'd win, because I thought the way they played really would play into our hands, but... I did tell you the time. I know you did. Yeah. Yeah. I was wrong to say that. I was wrong to be positive. It was your fault. But, yeah, Murray again looks... I mean, it's not really his fault because he just had to deal with a lot, you know, he's up against three centre backs. He was... He was a lot of aimless balls forward, but... What was frustrating, I thought, about Clayton Berg's performance, was that he was letting McShane in particular get very handsy with Murray, like a lot of fouls, a lot of what could have been fouls. So then to disallow the snow go. I don't know. That's fine. If referee is doing that, actually, because you're setting the precedent for the game, you're going, "Right. I'm going to let you be physical today. It's a physical game." Yeah. That's fine. And then to disallow the snow go go. That's fine. Because every time Murray put hands on McShane, he went down, and they were doing that the whole game. But if West Brom were the Masters of Timeways, then the whole were the Masters of Diving, because they went to ground at every opportunity. And it was clear. Clayton Berg, there's a couple of times, the one on Zahar, which I thought was a clear penalty. If he wasn't a clear penalty, he should have booked him, because it wasn't one of those where the defender got the ball, and then him, the ball would have long gone. It was a clear foul. And if he wasn't, there was a dive. There was a couple of moments like that for them. Yeah. It was a penalty for them, if Murray did have all of them. Yeah. But having, like we said, we could have had the best referee in the world, and if we'd got a draw out of it, it still wouldn't have been fair on hold, because they were by far about a team. They had nine corners. We had none. Yeah. We had three shots on top. The last time we did them a corner. No, I mean. Because that was the one thing we kept saying, we'll get something. Eventually, we'll get a corner or a free coup. They just seemed to be a bit of a lack of anything, didn't they? And also, it did seem to be a lack of a plan B when it wasn't really working. It seemed like we've praised Padra in the past for being quite brave and bringing players on, or changing stuff. Yeah, it's times like that when you'd like to see a couple of the younger players on the bench, because then Lee say he would come on with energy, and he'd tend, and I think we all thought that Lee was going to, because again, it's that typical thing with Palace fans. He had a good game in the academy, whatever it was, and scored a really good goal in reserve, so he'll save the game for a second. He was okay, wouldn't he? It was all right. I was tipped, but he's way off match fit. Yeah. And I keep saying this, and I'll make you get tired, the sort of player we needed is at Watford, Gurdi Ora, because we simply haven't got a midfield player who can get the ball and drive at the heart of their defence, because the holding midfield players don't seem to have the will to do it. Lee will do that a little bit when he came on. And Punch has done that in bits of season, but he seems to, at the moment, want to drop a bit too deep, and like you say, play the payload role, when actually he needs to be pushing on a bit from midfield, because it's a very easy container player that sits back and plays across your ball, so I think you made a face when we mentioned Lee a minute ago. Oh, well, he gave away the ball, didn't he, for the second goal? Yeah. Which he did apologise for. Yeah, he played, OK. I was obviously, the facial expression was just in reference to that little mistake, but that's going to happen when he was chasing a little bit. And as Kev says, you know, we came away from that match, thinking, well, you can't really sort of have too many gripes about the result. It was entirely a fair result. To me, you know, there was just not enough, I know they're fairly easy things to say, and it sort of belies a lack of tactical insight sometimes, but there wasn't enough drive or urgency. We didn't really press them very high up the pitch. You know, that punch in was dropping so deep, probably indicative of him wanting the idea of, you know, playing that slightly more cultured role rather than playing in a, you know, position where he's able to do more damage, and whether that was at his behest or apologies, we don't really know. Equally, you know, why play him there, his ability isn't based around sort of defensive anticipation or based around being able to intercept or put in a real sort of defensive contribution. He's no shirker, but that's not his primary, you know, ability. So for him to then be dropping that far deep, just doesn't seem to me to work. I think there's the fact that, you know, we hadn't really started regularly with that front three before, what was it, Sunderland's really, like, and teams probably now seen it and seen how they play, and you can't, and I said this at the time, yeah, it's great watching that Sunderland match, but you can't really rely on the fact that the same front three is always going to work every single week, because they're going to examine it time after time after time in their preparations. They're going to say, well, you know, Balassie always likes to make these runs, or likes to do this, Balassie will sometimes go closer tomorrow on the long balls, et cetera, et cetera. It becomes quite predictable. If anything, I think the introduction of Lee will at least give another option to maybe play out wide, maybe play another ten role, but yeah, there are quite a few things wrong with that performance, really, from sort of start to finish, and I don't know, I felt a little bit, I didn't feel embarrassed to watch it, I felt embarrassed when I was taking texts from quite a few of my Sunderland mates after we put in, you know, such a brilliant performance, sort of desire up there, and then we put in, you know, two of the most insipid, flaccid performances you could ever want, well, you wouldn't want them in the first place, but two of the most flaccid performances you could sort of, you know, ever expect in the next two games, and it's just a little bit, I don't know, it's a little unfair on the rest of the league, not to put in any effort like that, do you think? I'm sure they didn't put the effort in, I mean, it wasn't always noticeable, but I suppose it's human nature to relax a little bit, but it's a fact that it's at home as well, and we've had, you know, we've had the brilliant city result and the brilliant result, but the fact that it's off the back of that West Brom performance, and they talk to a week about giving the fans a bit of a treat, and that's what we all expected, and you know, it's nice to see Will doing a bit of defending, but he's no good at it, he was all over the place for that first goal, and it shouldn't have been him, he was the only defender back there, because the set, Delaney and Kelly had gone AWOL, and it's like that needs sorting out, and it's just really cross about the fact he didn't change it half time, because we all, at the very least you expect a sort of 10-15 minutes bell, and I think if we'd scored first, I think once we'd equalise, you could see the way their shoulders went down, and they were literally going back to the centre circle before Clamburn went through his list of reasons to, I think we'd have scored again, but again we wouldn't have deserved it, it would have been brilliant for Sanogo to get a go, and all those people haven't got Sanogo, it's just not his fault, that's not his game, he's not a different version of Glen Murray, he was never like that, Arsenal, he's not a big straight forward target man, so there's no point in lumping, all they did was get to take Murray off, stop lumping the ball able to see up to him, and start lumping it able to see up to Sanogo, there was too many, there was too many long balls, and it was no way more than I can remember in a game recently, it seemed to want to go up to Murray all the time, and it was clear, clear early on in the match that he wasn't going to get much in the air from the whole defence, so again another kind of lack of options, lack of can be, Sanogo coming on from Murray as well, as a straight swap is again a kind of a well let's chuck another strike on, it didn't seem like there was any options. If you've got to chuck another strike on and play the same way, then put Emilio, because that's what he is, he is a proper big target man, who can hold the ball up with his back to go while people get close to him, but there was lack of, again it was quite lay on before they brought Galon, and it didn't seem to quite know what to do with him. Now left again, why he's completely forgotten that he didn't even come on, yeah, yeah it is, which is great, because again you think we'll try being down the middle then, if this sort of worked out as well. I would have done that, switched up to up front maybe, and you might as well, we seem to sort of go three in the back as well, I don't mean two in the end or something so, someone on one of the forums or something or Twitter or something was saying that Pard soccer, I can't remember where it was, it was the internet, it was somewhere on the internet, if we get to a day where I have to defend this podcast in court, then I think we're all finished, but someone was saying about, I'm confident in your in your lawyer abilities. What you do know about the lazy podcast law of 2007, is that it's legally podcast, if I have to read about it, then, yeah, podcast producers and presenters are legally obliged to put the uploads there into it, okay, no, well, I'm not going to be asked to read it, couldn't be asked to read it, formalised, looking at history, Pards sometimes seems to go through run of games, he'll go through runs of wins followed by runs of defeats, doesn't seem to kind of plateau at all or be, does that fill us, are we entering one of them, are we worried about that, give it, especially given our game solution? It doesn't matter now, does it, you know, we are safe, not with the fact that, oh God, here we go, we were safe after that, you know, we are safe now, so in the grand scheme, it doesn't really matter, and I don't buy the argument that if you finish the season, badly, you're going to start the next season, barely, you know, you've got pre-season, you've got new players coming in, et cetera, you know, you don't know how your fixture list is going to be at the start of the next season, any number of different factors, but it's just, I don't know, I can't quite put my finger on it, it's one of those things that perhaps, given the manner in which he changes stuff so often, and it does sometimes work by sheer law of averages, sometimes it's not going to work, you know, you're not going to get a consistent grind that you get under a tiny peer list, for example, and sometimes it's going to come up brilliantly, like against Man City, but equally sometimes he, just because he likes the tinker, and he likes to change things up, it will go spectacularly wrong, or just, you know, mediocally, it doesn't, it doesn't last too much, it's, the expression can't quite put my finger on it, it's sort of something else, because there's loads of little things that don't seem right suddenly, I mean, when it couldn't quite put I think wrong why we were doing so well, and it's like the home for, you know, at the same time as moaning about the fact we've lost all those home games, I can't quite work out or suggest what we do to, to stop that, we're not radically changing the way we play, but I don't see how radically we would alter it, you know, as we, we do try and seem to get on the front foot in games, we are better set up for away games, admittedly with the type of players we've got, but that's got to be addressed, but that's an interesting point, because Pargy does tend to go in, weird ones, but I'm less worried about it because of the teams we've got coming up, if, if we had a lot of teams nearest around the bar, I'd be a little bit worried, but they're going to have to, yeah, the intensity will be back at Stanford Bridge and you're black for the man you know, absolutely, but then you get that argument slightly in right, doing this not about Everton on Sunday, it's saying, well, it's all very well, playing that one against Made United, but you've got to play that, well, week in week out, you can't, it's insulting to the fans to just raise your game against it. Would you say less insulting or more insulting than kissing your badge off to your lead for club that forgave you your future club? Well, he has, he has personally asked me to stop calling him a badge kiss in Judas, and he did say what would it take to make me stop that and ask at the time machine that he could get in and not kiss his badge basically, that sounds fair to me, simple as that, even off to supply his birth certificate as well, which is really sweet, but it's, it's, it's, it's kind of frustrating, but in, it, if we just had one bad result, that wouldn't have been said, it's, it's almost like nobody at the club had told the players that losing to one X manager was bad, but losing to two, and it's interesting because you could tell the age of the crowd on Saturday, as Bruce made his progress, he could, as he walked past a little block of young people who didn't know, kind of half applauded him, and he walked past a block of middle aged people who remembered to have booed him, and it's like, but it's, yeah, but it had sort of, that would hold his early, that's what it's like, yeah, yeah. Okay, Swari, after we, he was sort of one of the few positives after West Brom, but another positive after, how again? I thought, I thought, so I thought he was the one, the one who's the energy levels would consist, and also it's the first time we've seen him test it properly defensively, and I thought he, he was all right, potentially actually, I thought he looked, he looked strong when he looked good in the tackle, and he looked like he wanted to use the ball well after, so I was, I had been slightly worried about it before, but I'm more encouraged about him, that now, and I think he'll probably be the starting left back, next season, obviously. Good delivery as well, linked up well with the other bit, but it was just ball for a snow go. A decent, decent left peg, decent, swinger, that's what I would call it, because that was a good effort. Yeah, so there's, it's just frustrating, isn't it, after we have done so well to lose those games, but, well, it's a lot of context that hadn't we? Well, no, we have got to put in these concepts, but they were, they were worn off performances. I mean, that's how we were playing the back end of last year, that's what they were saying, but yeah, like you said, you have to put it in context, and you can't blame them for not wanting to get out of here. It's interesting, I did actually think that during the first half of that, that performance was going to hold, it was kind of one of those, we were keeping the ball okay, but never actually doing them any damage, not really showing a great deal of invention or penetration, and we're not really pressing them, so yeah, I completely agree that it did feel a little bit like a walnut before, which you can go, again, shouldn't go over the top, and we've got to put it into context, but yeah, I think improvements needed, certainly, if we're not going to be embarrassed by Chelsea on their horrible title celebration. Well, yeah, they just really hoping they would have won it by Sunday, that would have been lovely if they'd won it. It's still time for Leicester to win tonight, yeah, it's true, I'm glad I said that because that is now going to date the quarter immediately, thanks, thanks for that, no idea, they're either winning and or losing and or drawing, it's like Schrodinger's football, we, well, how come each week you never get any reference to anything ever, I know some stuff, something you're throwing in a reference to Schrodinger's curve, yeah, I know some stuff, I've watched a big bank theory, I know stuff, top 10's gone, no, not necessarily, give them their running. No, I'm more optimistic against, you know, it's a way for him, he's pretty poor, they were pretty poor against Everton, and if Carrick isn't playing, I think we've got every chance against, you know, there's no logic that says, you know, if we beat Man City, we could be, yeah, true, you know, Man City won, though, it's been so bad afterwards that you can't eat, you look back at that, I think, well, maybe we probably should have been in Man City that's not bad by this kind of, it's beable, it's still primarily champions, but no, Liverpool's season's peat ring out, and they'll be trying so hard in that last game, to win for Jarrod off with some sense of, yeah, have you made your banner yet, not yet, yeah, okay, in production I'm having, I'm asking Vector that they're having trouble with the tier for the corner of Stephen Jarrod's eye, it's quite hard to tapestry a tier, if anyone can do it, if anybody can do it, it's a factor, okay, okay, let's wrap up part one there, in part two we've got, again, loads of questions from our lovely listeners, so see you in a bit. Hello listeners, welcome back to the five-year plan podcast, hello, that was nice, that was brilliant, it was a bit, it was a bit, yeah, it was lovely, it's pod, whoa, let's, that's broad cards come in, pod 138, sponsored by Vector Printing for all your print and embroidery needs, go to vector.co.uk, let's vector with a, okay, oh, beautiful, it's very nice, we're going to harmonize it anyway, okay, questions then from our listeners, we get a lot of questions, so thanks to everyone, we get a lot, this is the most we've ever had, I think, continually each week, like 50, I would say, that's a lot isn't it, yeah, we had that many in weeks one, three, two, three, so first thing, no, we couldn't, we used to write them then and we couldn't write that many questions, have you decided to check the questions before the pod this week, no, okay, good, so it's going to be interesting but I've got the first few lined up, and the first one comes from Mike Kooling, hi Mike, and he says good evening panel, hi, good evening Mike, yeah, hello, as is to a panel, is that count, is it? Three, well, three, nice and crowd, I don't like it, I'm like out, don't I, but he didn't really really give an opinion, I don't feel, I gave, yeah, I gave some in the first section, I didn't like it, stop it, good evening panel says, says Mike Kooling, hi Mike, and as the first team aren't playing well at the moment, is it time we played the fringe players? I, yeah, we hinted at this earlier, I think certainly it's time to put them on the bench or give the likes of voting ago, certainly, yeah, it's, I, you know, especially as we know the pod you has been looking at them, has been going to the reserve games and the U of T and games, the under 21 has won the league, yeah, all brilliant, and a handful of them have been given pro deals, so there's definitely some talent there, yeah, congratulations to them. Yeah, I can't remember. But yes, I mean, this would seem the ideal, it possibly, it probably won't do now in the next three games, so you would have thought that these last two games would have time to do it, but. I mean, if you're going to take care, if you're going to take care, at least, you know, give the fan something a little bit more interesting, yeah, going, oh, I'm going to play Julius Varoni at left wing. Yeah, no, I don't want that, actually, I wouldn't mind that, I wouldn't mind that. He's playing there against Dundee. Yeah, okay. I think he's going to play everywhere against Dundee. Surely the least exciting. That's because no one's going to turn it up to play on it, surely the least exciting opponents for a testimonial ever. We went on this last week. His choice. They're his choice because he, there's an emotional connection. Yes, it does. It's lovely, yeah. Unfortunately, he didn't come from like Real Madrid or something, but they've named two of the players that are going to play in the testimonial for Palace, Clinton Morrison and Accuriarati. Oh! So that's nice, isn't it? Yeah. Why did they name incredible emotion? Huh? Sorry, she's beating an arse. Yes, and Charlie Adams playing for Dundee. Oh. So there you go. The names have got 5,000 on the ground. Well, yeah. There should be more than that. There should be 25,000. They should turn up just to watch the jewellery ball, remember? Exactly. Exactly. And the last testimonial I was at at Palace was a neon ill drawer, and one of the worst games in the world. Dargay Freedman's one. He got brought off after five minutes, right? Yeah. Which is about the fastest. He's summed off, wasn't he, after about five minutes. I didn't know. I didn't know that. The best one was the 1990 Palace team against the 1990 Money Night team. Yeah, that was good. When Andy Thorne literally had to be dragged off and left two massive furrows in the pitch. And the rest of us... He didn't leave the centre, sir. No, no, what he got, also, he wasn't carried off. He was dragged off. Literally, he's like a plow. And the rest of us going, "Did Simon Jordan play in 1990?" Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If you want to go and watch Joel's testimonial, tickets are available now, so I think from the Palace box office. What night is it? In 2020, it's the Tuesday after the season ends, so 26th of May. So, uncharacteristically well organised, have you? So, something like that. So, tickets are still available. So, get your stuff down there. I suspect you might be saying that on the date. Possibly. Well, no, we're going to pod after, I think we're going to do the pod. The last pod of the season will be day after, actually. So, maybe we can convince Joel. Go down on Tuesday. Try and convince Joel to come on now. Oh, we could just stay at the gym. The match could be nice and quiet. Yeah. You guys just had to... I'm joking, Joel. Come on. Get down there and support it. I'll be there. This is huge. Maybe. Okay. Next question. Oh, no. The last testimonial I went to was Simon Rogers, which was a preseason friendly against Spurs. Don't we get battered enough? Where we lost four or five, no? It was just like a normal preseason friendly. Yeah. So, there you go. Good, really. We didn't deserve anything more than that, did we? Next. Johnny, you was a great player. So, it's going well. Someone to die like you're in. Why not? Just don't. You're in. You're a horrible piece of man. It's the nicest thing you've ever seen to me. It's a lawyer. Yes. Fair point. Jamie Green. Hi. Jamie Jamie. Says, "Can you hear the millers thing?" Very good. Very good. It's very good. Yes. Well, they... I quite liked... What's their... Robin's... Steve Evans? Steve Evans, yeah. I quite liked him looking down the camera last night telling the mill players who shot his face. Yeah. Didn't he say... Didn't one of them say... That's the placare company. It's a bit told a London news website that he thought Robin didn't have the bowl. Yeah. So, Steve Evans said we've got 12 bottles at the moment. Are we going to drink them all tonight? I mean, I hate Steve Evans. He seems like a horrible piece of tea. Well, fair point. Apparently, he's indeed a horrible piece of tea. Yeah. But... Well, that was funny. Yeah, it was a little... Well, especially because they all had that slight little bit of hope, didn't they? It looked like they might do it and then the three point production was beautiful. I've got the whole away. Well, exactly. These are the two things I'd like to say. I don't care about all your horrible words after leaving Palace, Agent Holloway, mission accomplished. And also, I'm really interested to see whether the South London Press are going to publish my little thing at Millwall in my weekly column this week. Ooh. Because obviously they've got a big mill wall really shit. Plug, good stuff. Thank you. Thanks. That's out for our FFPP in all news agents. Other newspapers are available. And other suburbs of London. Is that the one where you crowbarred in the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad as well? No, that was last week. Not this week. I can't go home at the moment. There were people laughing at Millwall. That's my excuse for the misses. We've got a moving swiftly on. We've got another question that related to Millwall from Michael Fogarty. Hi, Michael. We weren't too much on this, but I think... That's making me happier. Is it too late to raise enough money to fly a plane over the knuckle-draggers? Brilliant. Reminding them there's only one team in South London. That is hard. Should we do that? Should we do that? Were we getting the budget? Vector. Well, absolutely. You could kill two birds with one stone. The Vector would have got time to do the big banner. Then, yeah. It'd be heavy though. It'd be embroidered. And the embroidered one would be difficult to fly with. Now, all I'm saying is... It would. There is a billboard near London Bridge that lets local businesses for free advertise every week. And there's a thing at the bottom of it. People who use London Bridge every day will see it. I'm just saying that FFPP could hypothetically get that billboard for free and go... Do you know what the class begins to do? It's saying nothing. They know that we know. And we know that they know that we know. That's good enough for us. It is good. But it's no banner over a... Why plane over a stadium? Yeah, but do we know that they know that we know that they know? No, I don't know. What would we have on this banner? We'd have. Because that's too long reminding them that we're South London's... And now just, thanks Ollie. Yeah, Agent Holloway, the mission accomplished. A lot of that. That's quite it. Yeah. Although you'd end up with more hate metal than you'd already get if you... Yeah, but they'd be legally obliged to fly it though, wouldn't they? I think you'd have to respond in kind. That's actually true. I think that's true. It's quite lawyer. You're a lawyer. Yeah, it's in the Fly and Banner's Response Act of 1992. Right. Let's have more questions. I'm a sub-at-counselor, excuse me, of being racist towards Millwall fans. Because I suggested in an article that... And it's just true. I had a load of scrap metal nicked when we moved in here. It's loads of stuff in the front garden. We've got that, we've got nicked. And I said it's the first time I'd thought about Millwall for years. And I've got this really stinking cos... Well, I'm an official player, saying that's actually racist to say that about Millwall fans. And I did point out the irony of somebody accusing somebody to be a racist towards Millwall fans. Because they're not a race. Not a race. And also their own checkered past on that subject. God love them. God love them. Well, it's fine. If that wasn't right. There was a time when Chalt and a Millwall were worse. Of course, it's good and lovely. We're going to lose half our Christian. Read his shit now, accidentally going to the FIP podcast rather than Christian. Wardy's never going to come on the podcast. There was a time, don't say that Julian Julian's a good Catholic. That's a good Catholic boy. There was a time when Chalt and a Millwall had bragging rights over us. I think it's only fair to exercise those bragging rights. No, no, don't exercise. That hurts them even more. They're all waiting for the tweet. Just make them wait. Okay. Or fly a plane. Okay. I'll see how much the plane is. Then I'll make a decision. The next question I choose. You can't organise this podcast properly. You're not going to organise a plane. This is not a free arranged budget. We agreed this time. I think I can do it. You've got a clear the airspace. I'm going to do that. I'm going to fly it. I'm going to learn to fly it and fly it myself. I'm not going to get much work on right now. Next question. Next question is from... That's a good name. Ellis Whiffen. Hi, Ellis. That's an awesome name. Hello, Ellis. It's a great name. Hello. We have some very good named listeners. Should we invest in a new groundsman? It's like we're a nice hockey team at the moment. Quite a few people made that point on Saturday. A lot of slips. Yes, especially in the first 15 minutes. The groundsman we've got is apparently has a very good reputation. So you can only wonder whether it's all to do with the relaying of the turf at the start of the season. Whether it's a hang up from that. But yeah, it did look certainly in the West Brom game. Although it's a whole place going down so easily. Again, it's not an excuse for playing the last two games. They do water the pitch a lot on match days. And apparently the players want their players asked for that. Yeah, every every... I mean, sprinklers are pretty. I know from experience that every... They're warring pitches and it's formerly a decision made by the manager and the players. But it's still slipping around. It seems a bit weird, doesn't it? I'm not an expert on this, but I've spoke to... It's not the water making the pitch slip. It's the turf moving on the unsuitable... That would indicate the turf problems there before. Good. I think we should say in case anyone connected with the groundsman's decision. He's a very good player. He's a very good player. I don't know what his name is, but he's very good at it. He's one of the best. He's like one of the best. Come from Real Madrid or something. Come from Real Madrid. No, I think I've got that wrong. Next question comes from Sam Whiting. Hi, Sam. He says, "Does it annoy the panel?" Yes. She's us. Whatever the question. The answer's going to be yes. It is Jay Day. Yes. Does it annoy me? That's getting cut. "Does it annoy the panel as much as it annoys me?" Sam Whiting. "When the team is read out in numerical order instead of defense midfield attack?" Oh, clearly the answer is no. I hadn't thought. Interesting question. I'm still because I'm older than you. It still strikes me as odd. It jars me when you hear at number 36 or at number 48 or still sounds odd. But yes, it's an interesting question actually, because I suppose if you're new to the game, you wouldn't get any sense if he was playing where... If you're new to the game, you're not welcome. No, fair point. Yeah, no fair point. I hadn't thought of that yet. All fans. Because in that case, you're a Premier League Johnny Comrade. If you're new to the... Where were you? If you're new to the pods, we welcome you. If you're your first listen at the pods, I personally welcome you to the FYB. Is this anyone's first listen to the pod? No. They've gone long ago. That's a fair point. It's something the loyal and the brave who listens for the odd nugget. Is there anyone out there? I think someone tweeted this a bit earlier. There was one person who listened to every single pod we've ever done. That's like 200 hours of listening to me. Do you know what? That's 138 more than I've listened to. Wait a minute. There's some mental arithmetic here. Yeah, because this is pod 138. Honestly, you must listen to it. I've never listened to it. Right. Well, this is a revelation. I've got quite a good memory. This is... Wow. I don't tend to listen to anything I do on radio or whatever. It's not a slide. That's fair enough. On the quality of the pod. Also, because I remember being in it. Yeah. Do you listen back to it? Well, yeah. When I edit it. Yeah. Do you listen back to it? I'm the most narcissistic man. You know, of course I listen back to it. There's even a loop on the off. Quite often. Oh, pictures. I look at pictures of yourself. Yeah. So, if you are the person that's listened to it. Yeah, I don't. Congratulations. That's it. Yeah. Whatever. That's crazy. Yes. And let's hope you're out of hospital any day now. Right. That's a good point actually. Oh, yeah. That's about numerical rather than... Yeah. Because I suppose that implies if Hennessy was playing, then he wouldn't be the first one named. They must go and go and keep us first. Surely. It's almost like with questions about... That's a good point. ...millowall, the grass, and the all day. You don't want your teams read it out. Palace have nothing to play for. Yes, there is a little bit of... Don't you think it's described as a pie of cronks? It's four twenty, rather than four ten. Okay. Fair point. Well, shall we have a question about Palace? No, I was quite enjoying the Palace questions. Okay. Okay. We've had a few questions on team selections. Let's go into that. One person... Hi, one. Keith Roberts. Oh. Hi, Keith. That wasn't then... Says. Keith Roberts. That was genuinely funny. Well, we'll put one for you. Do you agree? Stop clocking right. One today. Twice now. Hello, push. It's Keith. That wasn't me, but... That's the actual catch going. It's your catch going. It's been a while since I called Streety Puss. Streety Puss, that's a good one. Streety Puss, that's it. It's actually my stage, like... Keith Roberts. It's a Keith. Do you agree that bringing Jedi back was a mistake? Ultimate... He's put... He's put ultimately costing us defeat against Westboro and Hull. A little... Well... I think that's just a thing that we most talked about in the pub after the game. It's out of the... He was there for the Sunday. It seems to have disrupted something. I was all for keeping the winning team. I think if it's true that the only reason he picked Ledley at left back against Westboro is because he didn't want to drop Ledley then that's a mistake. And the problem is Jedi just doesn't look right. It looks sluggish. He's not getting into tackles like he used to. He's not... It seems to be no energy on the pitch. But so... I... Yes, reluctantly... You can understand why you would put him straight back against him. Because he's a leader. He's got a good lead, of course he would. But... He's had two poor games on the spin, but having said that, he's not the only one who's had... No, he's had two poor games on the spin. But again, is it... He said it's a full and lost, but is it a case of wrong game opposition maybe? Away from home. We digging in. Oh, I just think it's all right. Is that maybe? I think sometimes it's just... There are other options in midfield as well. That's the thing. It just seems like he's got the three holding players and he's going to play two out of three of them. And it's... I mean, the calf has not... Hasn't got the... I mean, if... If the player of the year was only based in the past two games, he wouldn't have a chance. He probably won't call it a play the year over time. Well, they wouldn't. They play the full night. But even down the delay, they're not quite on it as much as they have been. So it's not just Jedi, but... Yeah. There does see... The thing with Jedi is you notice it more with him. Yeah, exactly. Because he's so... You see the passion and you see the tackles and you see the energy and you see the... And that's just not... It's just not happening. Same when Jules has a bad game. We all notice it because we're so used to his high standards. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we're... Colin Squires on that subject has said, "Do you think Jeddonack will be here next season?" I think we've got Jim a little bit of leeway, you know? He's had a major... Well, for Australia in the middle of the season. We've got a lot of Australian listeners, haven't we? Yeah. Sorry, Australia. But he's not an international tournament in the middle of the season. He played pretty much every game apart from what? No, in fact, he played every game last season, didn't he? Yeah. Well, we'll go with... I know. Yes. And he had the World Cup in the summer as well. The guys barely stopped, so, you know, give him a bit of leeway. I think we quite often look for simple reasons when form falls away. And, you know, it's a series of different factors. It's the fact that the players are slightly less urgent in their approach, that they probably are feeling a little bit more safe. Yes, it has had an impact bringing it back because Lenny was shifted around and the defense was disrupted. But I don't think you should necessarily just blame that on Jeddonack. I don't think anyone's blaming Jeddonack. But I don't think anyone either would have minded if Padre would have said he must be exhausted, let him rest until the end of the season, which wouldn't have made any difference to our prospects. And it's also a good excuse to say, well, let's try voting, or let's try different options in midfield. And sometimes we play our suffers because he is so incapable, he is so valuable, and obviously he wants to play. There is a tendency to say, well, okay, we'll definitely play here, even though it's quite clear. And also, it must be, you know, is it two weeks or anything's been taken off at? Yes. For this time of half time, it wasn't half time. It's two weeks where anyone's been taken off quite early in the game. I can't remember. Certainly, I mean, so that's, again, that sort of implies that there's something wrong, fitness-wise. Do you have, if I can sort of play devil's advocate for a second, have the players, I know I've been doing some more reading, have the players, they were so good in February and January and March. Have they almost earned the right to have a bit of an early season to go on the beach? The thing is fans are never going to tolerate that really, are they? Just by virtue of the fact, you know, people have paid sort to watch them. The very minimum, I think, people expect is not competence. It's not necessarily goals, it's just a little bit of effort. And there was a marked deterioration in the effort. I'm not going to say they weren't trying because I think that would be a disservice to guys who are pretty damn professional. I'm not sure. I'm not sure. But the effort levels certainly weren't as intense as they have been in previous weeks. And noise people. Yeah. And I think, I think also, they've got the right for it to happen. Well, it's the fact that it happened two weeks running is the worrying thing that, as I keep harping on about the fact that it happened in the second half as well, because you kind of, there wasn't even that. Well, at least pretend to sort of run about. Yeah, yeah. Well, especially after, like you said earlier, given part of his words in midweek. Yeah. We're going to, we're going to make up for the last week and stuff and it didn't really. But it's interesting, and the thing we part of is because he's always very quick to take the credit when things go right. He does tend to be honest and take the blame when things go wrong. And he did say after the West Brom game that he sort of outthought himself and tried to double bluff. But he was honest enough to say he used the word bewildered about the performance on Saturday. So clearly that implies that they had worked in the week. And they had sort of realised that they needed a good performance. And it just wasn't forthcoming. But it's the first time that Patrick's looked a little bit sort of lost on the bill. He was talking to Miller a lot more than they used to. He didn't seem to quite know what to do. And they weren't reacting, whatever the... It is a difficult position to me. We're not the first club to sort of find themselves in the middle of the table. Knowing that there's not a great place to play for one way or the other. And going into crease control, you know, it does happen. Well, it was something that ran for us. Somebody made the point last year that our position was kind of inflated last year because I think Swansea and Everton and a couple of other teams went into neutral for the last four games when we were still needing the points. He did exactly the same. So, the thing is, I generally do think that we will clearly raise our game for the next three games. It will be a different palace. And also, like you said before? Hull were very good. Yeah, well, again, maybe that's the one thing we're overlooking. Hull played very, very well. I mean, it's just annoying that they had that free at the back and didn't change it. And you kind of think, well, we should have known that. But that's a very good point that we should perhaps not forget the whole... Well, good. Right from the word 'go' was very good. Their energy was very good. Yeah. And they didn't like a team fighting renegation at all. They weren't nervous. No. You know, and as several people tweeted to me when I tweeted about Clattenberg on Saturday night, quite a few Hull fans went, that's the first break we've had for months. So, you know, so many things have gone against us. Yeah. If we did get lucky with their first goal. And with snow goes just low goal. Fair enough. Fair enough. And we've had luck throughout the season. It does happen now. But you could argue, you know, man, city fans have argued that our first goal was not. Yeah, exactly. And it wasn't a free kick, a foul on Murray that led to the free kick. So, yeah, it's fair enough. But I mean, it would be worrying if we're still having this conversation after this onesie game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, that would be a problem. Because if our levels of concentration and energy are this low for the rest of the season, then that would be... Well, it's still four games. It's still quite a few left. Yeah. And it's still, I mean, that's... Yeah, this chance, it's still a chance. It'd be lovely if we'd get above West Ham, that'd be lovely. Yeah, that'd be good. But having said that, yeah, we were with 19th from the party together. Exactly, exactly. In turn, I spoke to a journalist last night on another podcast that I did, sorry. But for the vocal writers, he said he's voted for party for manager of the year for what... purely on that. And I thought he was joking, but he said quite a few people are voting. He thinks that the party was manager of the year because he's kept two teams up. When's the award? He has kept. Yeah. Because I think people are starting to realise now, Newcastle fans in particular are starting to realise that they actually piled you a really good job at Newcastle, which is a basket case of a club. And they were fifth two seasons. They've lost seven on the balance. They've lost seven on the balance. They're in danger of going... Yeah. Carver would be manager all season. You know, so he's clearly a good manager. And it's... I'm fascinated to see what he does pre-season. Who's what sort of player he looks to bring in and how he looks to change the style of anything. Okay. I'm speaking of relegation. Nick Payne Cook. Hi, Nick. Hi, Nick. Says, "Who do the pod want to see relegated?" It's a bit harsh. Well, I hope it's... We really have it. I don't... I never want to see anyone. I generally don't want to see anyone really gay. You're not. Surely. No, I don't like the thought of... I don't like the thought of other people. I just go down. Yeah. Let's be honest. I won't be bothered. Who ever goes down? Clive Allen. Team, you know, he's been in a since year. Well, keep your account. You were there. You're the one. He tells you about this. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. Every time I go to the pub. Yeah. But, you know... That's the worst thing you've ever said to me. No, no, no. Well, they are. In terms of their... They're rooted in their community, aren't they? They're overshadowed by bigger clubs. I wouldn't... I would not even fly monkeys if they go down. I think it'd be intriguing. I think... Sure, we shouldn't have said out loud. There's no chance of us going down. Did he? Because they... The other teams around them have got games in hand. Sunderland. I'd be really interested in Sunderland going down, I think. Because they all thought they were safe after being the worst Newcastle team. And I kind of... I'm pleased that Bournemouth and Watford are coming up. And, in a way, you kind of want a team like Sunderland. You kind of want them to go down because you know they won't be as bad. You've always got to view it through the prism of who are the three clubs we can be above next season. And I'm already delighted because I think we will finish Bournemouth and Watford. You'd like to think. Yeah. And taking a big club out of the equation, we've got enough money to spend. But Sunderland, something needs to happen to Sunderland because that club's in... Something wrong at the heart of that club. I remember being there five years ago when Alquyn was chairman. And he just instigated this, like, health thing where fans could walk for various parts. Well, they'll never catch on. And it was a club that seemed generally to be going places. There was a good atmosphere around there. And Alquyn is such a decent bloke. Really desperately keen to help the local economy and the way that people in that area are struggling. And since then it's just gone... It's something rotten at the heart of Sunderland somehow. And you kind of feel maybe it needs that relegation to shake them out of it. I suspect, I still think it's my... I still think Leicester are in trouble. But I think somebody other than the three that have been bottomed all season. I think one of the big clubs is going to go down. So with Newcastle and Sunderland, not a good time for football in the Northeast. Not really. The best borough games. Some boroughs sometimes don't like to be lumped in with... You see, well, Carranco, who was chatted up as being a... Palace manager... You see what he did on Saturday. So they were drawing against Fulham and he decided... After coming back from 3-1 down. I was coming back from 3-1 down. And he decided, "No points not really good enough." At 3-3, he sent the keeper up. Fulham went on the break and scored a winner. Really? Russ McCormack wasn't it? I think so. There you go. That's the up we made about part of it in 2-1-2. It's gone though. Then there's a while you're drawing and going... Come on, Jules, go up and have a header. And he did send him up as well because you see the keeper looking at him. Yeah, for a corner. Yeah. Renegade. Bold. Maverick. Right. Lewis Wilmot. By Lewis. Hi, Lewis. Says red wine or lago with a curry. And lago really... It's an end on the curry. It's a waste of wine. I agree. Don't drink wine with curry. It's just... No. There's no... There's no... There's no more refreshing. There's no red wine robust enough to really cut food. It's a good strong curry. It's just... Okay. And drink a lago that's brewed especially to be eaten with Indian food basically. Like a... Tiger. Tiger. Tiger. Kingfish. Kingfish. Yeah, basically. Don't really drink beer so I don't really know much about it. What are you... Did you've been drinking on Saturday night? Then when you were slung down so I had to pour some salt. G&T. Oh, do you know what that was? I didn't know the pours as I was sold to you. No, yeah. Well, only till they sell our chin and tonic. But as we left my brother decided that Jadie hadn't had enough beer. It's a bit of a point of it. Oh. That was... That was quite a gin and tonic, yeah. That's the best way to start a guy wrong to Jadie. That probably expands quite a lot. That would explain it. Yeah, that would... That was not... That was not... That was properly slumped. Moving on. And the next question is from Liam. Hi, Liam. Hi, Liam. He says "Yaya Sanogo. Discuss." Do I have to? I... I... That's a really sweet... No. I feel... I feel sorry for it. I mean, it's... He was a punk. He was a gambler, wasn't he? Simple as that. And... Well, he first broke through it. I asked him. They had quite high hopes for me. But I think it's just... It's hard to tell what his best position would be. 'Cause I... I mean, it's Southampton in the cup. He looks... Yeah. Quite useful. I think... He was paired with Shammers. We've done it. Yeah. He's not a target man. He's not a Glen Murray. Simple as that. I feel for him. 'Cause there's no lack of effort on his part. And you suspect that he's one of those players who if he did get a gold get a few more, but it's... Well, it's one of the few instances that Southampton came, where he was playing with someone who was giving them balls into a thing. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. The inclination, particularly, with some of our centre backs, who will remain Delaney when you see it. It's all man up front, it's like... Oh! That was happening so... Get on this, you man. Oh, no. That's a bit offensive. Those centre backs would do it. Oh, my whole forest, I didn't mind. Okay. Me and me too, but I did mind... Both centre backs. Some council say that. I'm going to get a letter soon. But yeah, I do feel... It looks like the sort of player who might... Probably needs a season in the championship. Mm-hmm. 'Cause he's not... He's not physically strong either, is he? That's the other thing. He's tall, but he's not... He was really getting bullied by the centre backs. Which, again, is why we shouldn't have kept lumping aimless balls up at him. 'Cause that's not his... He's got something about it. I've got spits and pieces. Yeah, I think so. I don't think... Again, I don't think he'll be with us next season. Anyway, I suspect Murray won't be... I suspect Delaney won't be. Murray, really? I'd be surprised if Murray's Delaney start first game of next season. Okay. Well, certainly, we know they're going to be looking for defenders and strikers, so that wouldn't... I guess that wouldn't be... I don't think as much as the Delaney story has been lovely and romantic. I don't think he's going to get 20 goals next season. And we need a striker that... If, unless we really tighten up the defence, we do need to score more goals than we currently have. Do you think you'll change the system next year? Or will you look for a young defender, Murray? This is a pub conversation we have all the time, and I don't know. Again, it's like, well, how do we make ourselves better at home? I don't know the answer, 'cause I'm not... I'm not... I just think... I just think Murray's not... I hate saying this, but I just don't think Murray is going to get us 20 goals. Or he's going to facilitate somebody else next to him getting 20 goals. And I want him to stay. I'd like him to be part of the squad, of course I do. But I just think if we talk about moving on, then if you asked, apart from the clubs that are coming up, if you offered Murray to any other Premier League clubs, do you think they'd be snapping your hand off? Even in mid-town, do you think West Bromwood would say, yeah, we'll have Murray? Do you think they would say we'll have Murray? Where would West Ham? I think it depends on the way you play football. Yeah, maybe. And I'm not saying... That's not criticism, I'm saying. And I'm not saying he's not a Premier League player, because he clearly is in his score goal when he looks at home there, but I'm just saying, is if we're talking about improving or moving ahead, he's somebody you would look to replace. Well, speaking of players that might be leaving then, we've had two people tweeting on a similar question. Andy Hopper. Hi, Andy. And Chris Waters. Hi, Chris. Oh, lovely. Chris has said, would you accept a bit of 15 million for Balassie? Yep. Yep. And Andy has said, for 15 million, I would buy anyone's hand off. There is too much inconsistency. Well, in relation to Balassie, or that's just how much you'll take for him to buy something. In relation to Balassie. Okay. I think... What do you think? I can't imagine anyone paying 15 million power for Balassie. I can't imagine any of the top six would see Balassie as being better than anyone they've got at the moment. And then he would wonder why Balassie would go to any other club. Especially when we saw, as we said before, we saw Amnt as a har when he went to. Yep. And the thing is, you know, in Balassie and Punching were on goals on Sunday with Chris Camara as the guest. And there was a brilliant package of Balassie's skills. But there weren't many goals in that. And when he's not in the game, he's really... I mean, he's without a doubt. And this is odd when he's a har when he's in the team. Blassie is without a doubt one of the most exciting players I've seen for years. I love him to be, it's brilliant. But again, it's that thing. If you want to be successful week in week out in the Premier League, he's got to prove that he can do it week out. And also what he's got to add to his game is that when things aren't coming off, you're able to say, "I don't know, I can't recreate these tricks because I don't know what I'm going to do." That you need... he's got to add to his game something that he can do when the tricks aren't working. Or when he needs to get in double team by full bounce. Or when he needs to get in marks or when he needs to get in, you know. And that's the same as the har. They need to find other ways of doing stuff because that little step over, you can keep doing it for 90 minutes. It's not working. The other thing as well with both of them is that against where Sperom Zahar had brunt in his pocket and against Hull. Zahar looked capable of beating the wing back all the time. But if the cross doesn't come in, in those games as well, managers have shown that they will double up on players. They will do that and it can be effective. But also what used to happen in a championship is that that created space from a player. And so what they need to learn is to do that in the Premier League, that if they're getting marks out of the game or they're struggling, they need to at least create space for other players to go into. And it's part of you saying, "I've made him worth 20 million quid." Of course that's all the points. I think he probably does. Yeah. They relax him. But I don't want blessings to go. I really don't want blessings to go. I would hope he starts the next season. But if you were offered 50 minutes, which is a lot of money. It's a negotiate employee. I've said it time and time again. Of course it's. We don't have any players who are good enough for the top six. Outside the top six, everyone's much, very much this season. Everyone gets the same money every season. Everyone's on a similar financial footing. Everyone's now subject to, you know, with certain constraints, FFPs. I can't go absolutely ridiculous. So all the wage to turnover ratios and all that fun gunk is actually going into more sensible levels. So no one is going to spend ridiculous money to take him from us to, you know, a team or a 15th place team or something like that. And, you know, I agree with what Kevin says there about sort of consistency and stuff. He's had a purple patch recently and it's been great to watch. He's done well. But, you know, he's got to produce it over an entire season if he wants to justify the hype of saying that he would go to a club like Liverpool or a club like Spurs or, you know, one of the top six clubs in the country. And at the moment, that's not really the case. I slightly disagree that we haven't got any players who would get. So I think Dan and Ward, arguably, would certainly take him out. I think Dan would. Yeah. I think Dan is better than any centre, but, you know, they've got... Yeah. Well, he should be in England as well, but... He should be in England as well. But in terms of the players we talk about, the exciting players, and you know you're absolutely right. You look at West Brom, they've got players up there. You know, if they've got players up, then take an arguably better players. I don't think either of them are going to be as those clubs. No, they probably won't. Palace on him. Well, I've lost. I love Ben Techie at Palace, but I don't think that's going to happen. But speaking of signings, Jack Piss... Hi, Jack. Who do you rate as the best and worst... Maybe it's a bit harsh. Signings of the season. Well, for Palace or anyone? I think... Well, he hasn't said that, but I'm assuming for Palace. It's going to be harsh on him, but... It's not going to be nice. I mean, in terms of the club that he came from, the game time... You know, you're not talking about someone who was brought in very much for the Heat Year, but you're talking about someone who's brought in online for the sake of immediacy, who has played a good few minutes and who hasn't really had an impact. So I think you've got to say him, haven't you? Well, or Jordan much. It's been injured, isn't it? Too busy endorsing Carl Henry. But still was... How many times have you got taken off first? I know it's... Haven't seen much, haven't we? In terms of... Well, we haven't seen much of Snowgo, because he's only been given bit parts. Yeah. No, I feel like there's something there. There's potential there. Yeah, but he's... We've already got three of him already. Yeah, true. Best sign-in has got B. Zaha. You got a sign out? MacArthur. Oh, MacArthur has had a good taking out. I think Zaha... In terms of... Long-term, I think Zaha was the best sign-in for him and for us. And I think in the long-term, MacArthur probably will win Player of the Year, although I hope it's down, but I think Zaha will stay with Palace of Parliament. So I think Zaha... If we had to lose one of Blassie or Zaha, I'd rather lose Blassie, I think, because I think Zaha is in the process of becoming a really good... Or I don't think we've... I worry that we might have seen the best of Blassie. That Blassie can't get any better. But whereas I think Zaha, I don't think Zaha was fully recovered from the trauma of the move to Manu, and the way he was treated by Moiz. We'd get Moiz. And also the way he was treated at Cardiff as well. I think Zaha is a player who's still massively, with massively different confidence, who I think will develop into a much better all-round player than the lastly, probably. He seems to want to... Well, this time around, seems to want to learn, isn't he? Well, that's a really good point. And also, I think, well, for the player that you could imagine seeing him leaving... If you needed an emergency centre forward or you needed somebody behind the... It could be more versatile than he is, and he looks like he's up. He's up for it totally. So I think probably Zaha is probably a good call for the best. Best signing, yeah. Good challenge. Yes. And we're going to go to snowguys. Good question. Best signing. Well, that's interesting. When you said about March, interesting, because we were talking about the midfield options earlier, and none of us even mentioned March, and even come up as a... I thought it was a strange sign at the time. I think it was a strange sign. A lot of money said, before he was injured, he didn't seem to be fitting into the system, particularly well. He was a player that the club were talking about. Big time, wasn't there, is the answer to a lot of problems. It'd be interesting to see how much he features next season. It's hard to imagine. Well, it's hard to imagine. It's hard to imagine the all four of March, Ledley, MacArthur and Jedi will be there next season, because they are essentially versions of the same player. And again, we've seen it a lot of times this season. We need something more cultured, a more cultured midfield option, and we need a more energetic midfield option. The Williams or the Bannon or the good type or league? I think that's an energetic option. But again, there's potential there definitely. It runs around a lot. Yeah. Well, I like that. Even though I don't do it when I play football, but I appreciate players that do. Everyone around a lot. Right, last couple of questions. There's still loads on the list, but I apologise to anyone that doesn't get your question read out, because we don't have a lot of time. But thank you very much for tweeting them in. Next question is from Woolly. Hi, Woolly. Woolly. Woolly. Is that W-O-O-L-L-E-Y? Woolly. Oh, woolly. That'll be woolly. A big mick, isn't it? No, Mattie Woolly. Oh, it's not Big Mick. Hi, Mick. So, I'm Mattie. Hi, Mattie. Hi, Mattie. Yeah, and just in case I have Big Mick as well. Is that the very tall Mick? Yeah, that'll be Big Mick. I'm guessing that'll be Big Mick. No, we called him that because he's really short. Right, you know what? Great, you make a great witness, woolly. Jeez. I've seen a tall one. Yeah, the one that was blocking out the sun. Big, big could be, like... What fact is that? It could be right hand. It could be. Yeah, but we know. It's very tall and thin. It's a warpulent, that's for you. Yeah, very defensive. Hello Mick. Very nice guy. Hello, Woolly. So, Woolly says, "If a statue was built..." I think we've had this before. "If a statue was built outside Seoulhurst, what former player or manager would it like it to be?" Have we had that before? I don't know. I've seen before. I'd like to see a right and bright statue. Or I'd like to see Steve Koppel, I suppose. Right. I'm not sure you'd have a right and bright statue, because then Bright would never get to see the matches. That's true, he'd be outside licking it for the 90 minutes or not. Yeah. That's a good point. Yeah. And then you'd have to have a statue with Bright. He was four yards behind Righty. But he doesn't listen to this, doesn't he? No, I'd write and bright statue, but I'll see. Yeah, there are other people. Again, it's that short because in the Premier League you forget there were other heroes. Jim Kennan. Jim Kennan. Yeah, Bert Head. Bert Head, yeah. John Jackson, people who played. John Jackson, yeah. Steve Kember's dad, yeah. Good play. It's, it's, it's, yeah, great, but sort of, slightly tarnished by his, his tenure as manager, so. I, I, I, I, I, Bert Head would be lovely because he was the first. Yeah. Or, you know, the other one as well, I suppose Malcolm Allison. Yeah. Would be a good one. Yeah. Because despite the fact that he relegated his running, he did actually really, really put Palace. Yeah. Yeah. On the, on the map. Big time. And then perhaps we, maybe a statue of Terry Vellables, but I don't know how hard it is to sculpt a wheelbarrow full of cash. But. I'm actually Malcolm Allison. I think Malcolm Allison is a very good, yeah. Obviously, I'm going, I think Malcolm Allison will be in love with him with the fedora and that kind of doing the one thing I'll talk about, something like that. Because that was a really glamorous era for. Yeah. Because we were totally nondescript as a, so we were mill, that kind of terms of publicity. Yeah. Yeah. And to be honest, we're now, I feel like we're getting back, we're getting back to that kind of glamour now, aren't we? With, with Balasti and Wolf plan. Well, this is something about and the crowd and the 8KF and stuff. There's a bit more kind of glamour to Palace now. On Saturday? Yeah. No, there is. I mean, people forget how, in the third division, when we were getting 30,000 at home, we were taking 3,000 away. I mean, it was like, we was, we were a big, big club at that time. And it kind of disappeared in the, in the early 80s. And I think we're getting back to being, no property, the number one team in South London, as indeed we are. Mm-hmm. Just start up, stage them a little bit. It'll be lovely. So I'm just eating a biscuit. Brilliant. Right, last question. Okay. Last question. Comes from. I just can't take the suspense anymore. Me find a good one. Swallow that biscuit for the lovers. Sounds like Chady's night out in the porcelain. It's like he's back at public school, isn't it? You were there, man. I never went to public school. The last question comes from... It's a very, very good question. Are you better at this gap out? I'm going to edit the gap out. There aren't that many good questions left. I've done all the good ones. Do you want a really stupid question? No. Or a fairly serious one. How stupid is the stupid one? Do you want both stupid and more than... Yeah, go on. The next question comes from Terry and Kristi Lamport. Hi, Terry. Hi, Terry and Kristi. Lamport. See what it's not? They say... No, Lamport. It's not Frank and Kristi. Look, Terry's just trying to hodge in there. Hi, Terry and Kristi. Clearly, Terry and Kristi share a Facebook account because this is nice. Oh, that's nice. They say, "How much wood would a wood chuck-chuck ever wood chuck could chuck wood?" That's a perennial question. It's one that philosophers in America and have struggled to answer for... But the answer is six. Yeah. Thanks for the opportunity. It's probably lucky that Emdakot's not here because that is something that's in the video. All night, that's energized him for a... That's the one question that does arousing from his sloth-like talker. Right now, basically. Right now, in some sort of crack then in East London, is it pricked up? Yeah, yeah, yeah. What happened? What happened? Yeah. I can say that. He's not going to see me. Okay. Right. The final question for Paul to 138 comes from Rich Green. Hi, Rich. Hi, Rich. He says, "Dear panel." Hello. Hi. It ends with a bang or a whimper. Well, I can probably... I suspect we will do reasonably well in the three games against the top of the position. And then, as usual, get passed off the pitch by Swansy. We always do. You know? We'll have a division. We seem to play Swansy and just come and pass us off the pitch. I disagree. I know Street is early. It doesn't matter. You don't agree that it feeds over into next season. Kind of... Just in terms of well-being and morale, it does a little bit. It does to fans at least. Yeah. You don't want it to peter out because the things, if it does peter out, it starts to make you worried that there's a reason for it petering out and that its players are unhappy or working. So, that's why I'm quite glad that we've got four good teams to play. Yeah, I think if we still had West Brom and Hoenn, you'd kind of think that probably would peter out a little bit. But there are reasons to want to beat all the teams that were. It's why the Chris Thambul game last season was so great. Yeah. Last time game was season. It just signed off everything after the brilliant note. Yeah. And gave us all something to remember throughout the summer, but there's no football. Well, and also the hope is that if we can put in a couple of decent performances, because it's interesting as well. We've got 42 points and Swansy was celebrating at the weekend. They're highest over Premier League total, which is 50 points. So, it's interesting. We're not that far behind that oddly enough and we're still moaning about how about the last two weeks a bit. Yeah. It would be nice for both clubs, Palis and Swansy, if we could get some good performances in those three games. And then the last game of the season, you've got two clubs that have really, really over-achieved. But look like becoming established Premier League clubs, playing against each other. Possibly won't be a brilliant game, but it'll be kind of nice because when neither Palis or Swansy are actually, for all that we just said a minute ago, we're getting some glam about. We're not fashionable clubs. We're not clubs that the Premier League would particularly want to be in there. No, but we are popular clubs. We are popular clubs. People like Swansy and they like people are liking Palis. Yeah, I think there's a lot of people to say. There's an amazing amount of people who say Palis to their second club, or the first game they went to. That's why I'm really pleased that Bournemouth and Watford get out because it's nice to see teams other than the usual suspects in the Premier League. Definitely. And Palis and Swansy are kind of, we haven't gotten a record of being established in the top division. And Swansy is a really, really depressed area economically and football clubs do. They raise the spirits of people. It's an odd thing to say, but it gives the area a sort of community pride and a focal point. So, in an ideal romantic world, it would be nice if both clubs, well, well, both clubs are safe. But it'd be nice if both clubs could celebrate the end of the season with a game like that. A nice three-order off. Yeah, and both sort of knowing that they go into next season fairly certain. They've got to make a good system. Because I think also, Gary Mum, arguably, he's got a couple of people that nobody mentions him in terms of manager of the year. Because he's an intolerable asshole. I don't know if he's done a remark. If people talk about Coombe and doing a brilliant job with Southampton, he's done a similar job with Swansy. Absolutely. Especially as coming from an assistant or whatever was coming from nowhere. Was he doing well? Okay. Because he looks a bit like you. No, he does. He's much better looking than straight is. I reckon we're going to lose all the remaining four matches. All of the sudden, Newcastle fans are going to start piping up to which the response will be, "Yes, but you have John Carver." And I think we'll still just about finish about it. Yeah, they probably won't. Right. Listeners, thank you for all your questions. Sorry we couldn't read them all out. But we appreciate you tweeting and Facebooking your questions each week on the pod. So please keep doing it for next week's pod. That's the end of part two. In part three, we're looking forward to the trip to Chelsea. On Sunday. So join us then. Hello listeners, welcome back to the Five Your Plan podcast. Part three. Part three. Part three of Pod 138. Hello. Sponsored by Vector Printing for all your print and embroidery needs. Somebody's listening to all of them. Go to vector.co.uk and that's vector with a... V. Yeah, with a V. Correct. And an E. I think it's a lot of chop things, where is it? It's embroidery. They're based in Sussex. With vector, you are vector. Yeah. Sussex. Yeah. Hassex. No one mentioned Sussex to me. Lovely part of the world. Right. What we're doing on this part? Yes. Chelsea. We're looking forward to Chelsea. It's been long pod. Erm, away at Chelsea on Sunday. Erm, we talked about formations and team choices a little. Do you shake things up? Give Lee Chang-Young a start? I think for an away game at Chelsea, he'll revert to... Well, it'd be interesting to actually check that, but I don't think he will change too much. I think he'll go back to the system that's been getting us the away wins. Mm-hmm. Would you like to actually, maybe, be the perfect player for this, actually? Probably. Yeah. If you can't rouse themselves for the game, it's down for Gridge. When we'll be the only fans you'll be able to hear are Pauli's fans. Yeah. But, yeah, it'll be... Although Chelsea, they're not going to hurt. They're not going to belt forward and give us loads of space behind, only, but... But it says, yeah, I don't know. I don't think he'll change the system, is he? So I don't think he'll start with... I think if they're all fit, he'll start with... Cadaion. I think the ward will come back. Well, with ward, he was injured, doesn't he? Well, part of you made a big fuss about him saying he was the missing piece on him. I think Kelly will start right back as well, left back rather. Rather than swearing? I think so, yeah. Okay. Even though Swarry had a fairly decent game, but... Yeah, I still think he'll go back to that. Um... Did sort of team one of those games. Um... And I'd like, although I still think there's no argument for maybe... I'm not sure that the experiment would punch in that role is working anymore. I think it'd punch things if you're playing as far forward as possible. Yeah. No, I think it needs to be. Deep in as wide as possible, sometimes. Um... How is that he seems to like Palace, doesn't he? He does, certainly. He'd like Palace fans. He's always closing Palace fans home in a way, so... Um... I still hope he doesn't win the league title. Well, as you record this pod, Chelsea are one with Leicester. So, um... They might win tonight. There's a chance they could win a title against us on Sunday. Yeah, if they win tonight... Tonight and then be us. Yeah. That would be a bit... Although the ideal scenario would be that they'd already won it, which is why I was annoyed they drew against Arsenal. I think if they'd already won it, we'd have more. Yeah. That's not the ideal scenario. The ideal scenario is they found the guilty overnight of really serious financial impropriety, deducted 92 points. Mm-hmm. Go down next season, uh, deducted a similar amount, just because of the seriousness of the breach. And they're... They're in a league one. Yeah, my scenario is more likely. Well... Also, well, talking of which, if QPR go down, there's still every chance that they will go straight into the conference, because... Really? There's a 50 million pound fine waiting for them. Yikes. For the last time they were... So, you're going to revise your opinion, you don't want QPR to go down there? No, I don't really, but... Imagine them playing in the conference. How funny that would be. Yeah, it would be a bit funny. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that would be quite funny. It would be very funny at fair point, yeah. Um... Yikes, I did not realise that. That's... That's... That's... I heard a great Adam Johnson song tonight as well. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. We... Please do not. I don't mind your lie. I'm not going to do that. I'm not caught with. Um... I just know that it was about that. True. It could have been about his footballing abilities, but we're going to move on swiftly from that. Um... Do... Well... Predictions... I forget how to wrap up this part normally, but do we do predictions sometimes? No. No, I never. Do you not want to do them? No. Okay. Um... In that case... I'm just going to defeat. Okay. No, you know what, I think we're going to beat, and I really, really want us to spoil Liverpool's party a lot. That'd be nice, wouldn't it? Yeah. We get two more wins, probably in the season, and then they may not... Oh, one more win would take it. That'd be... Lovely. Well, no, actually, no one more win and then... A positive outcome against Swansea, maybe. Okay. I think we're going to lose every game, too, Neil. You've saved out at the start of the season, though. I did it how many times have I been right? That's two points. Oh, two weeks. Quite a trip to say that. A hundred percent hit rate. Very true, huh? Um... Thank you very much. Uh, you guys are on the go on the boat trip, hon. Is that it? That was a real highlight I've lost. Actually, the boat trip was fantastic. Saturday night at the pub, the porthons was actually Susan's birthday party. It was, yeah. That's why I was well done for remembering that. There was happy birthday to Susan Biggs. Happy Susan. Happy, happy Susan. Happy Susan's birthday Biggs. If you prefer. Of course, she's happy Susan. That's what she's going to be called for. Happy Susan. Happy Susan, happy birthday Biggs. Um, yeah. Because it was free food and stuff, so that was... It was free food. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was nice. That free food was lovely. Free food. Um... Right, that's the end of the pod. It's the end of the pod. One thirty-eight. Chaps, thanks for being here. Thank you very much for being here. Thank you very much for being here. Thanks for being here. It's very funny to be here. Um... Our next pod will be after the Chelsea game. So, that's it. Join us for that pod listeners. And thank you all for listening. Although you might have to stay the night because the cat's asleep on your laptop bag and you can't move the cat. Uh, why not? 'Cause she's the first time you've ever finished the FYP podcast with a cliffhanger. Well, will JD get home? Will the cat move? Is Kenny going to empty the litter tray? All this and more next week on the FYP podcast. Right, tune in next week to find out listeners. Goodbye. [music] [music] My brother-in-law died suddenly.
