Careful with that Sword!

The Bible is likened to a razor-sharp sword and called "the sword of the Spirit". It cuts through to the deepest parts of our being! Handled well, it transforms lives; handled badly, it wreaks havoc!
The apostle Paul gave great advice on "swordsmanship":
- Value sound doctrine
- Beware those who love to argue about words
- Learn to correctly handle the Bible
- Avoid questionable teaching
We would be wise to learn to interpret the Bible well; for example:
- Read a text IN IT’S CONTEXT
- Recognise the TYPE OF LITERATURE
- Read the Bible literally unless it is clearly figurative
- Distinguish between Israel & the Church / Old & New Covenant
Hebrews 4:12, Ephesians 6:17, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Acts 20:29-31, Jude 1:4, 2 Timothy 2:2 & 14-18
