In these difficult and sometimes confusing times, we can learn from the example of Joseph - a man who endured many severe hardships before he saw God's promises fulfilled. His hardships seemed contrary to God's promised blessings, yet Joseph stayed faithful to God, both as a slave and as a prisoner. And God used him in these dark times, so that he was a great blessing to those around him. God also blessed Joseph - with favour and promotion from his masters, and later with a wife and children. In the end, God's promises were fulfilled and God used Joseph to rescue both the nation of Egypt and his own nation, Israel.
