Elisha ordered Jehu be anointed king of Israel. He told Jehu to strike down the house of Ahab. Jehu struck Joram, king of Israel down. The body was taken to the land of Naboth to fulfill the words of the Lord. Jehu had Ahaziah, king of Judah killed. Jezebel’s body was thrown from her window to Jehu. She was eaten by dogs as the Lord pronounced to Elijah. Jehu ordered the heads of the seventy sons of Ahab. He placed them at the entrance of the gate. Jehu told the people that God’s word would be fulfilled. Jehu struck down the house of Ahab according to the Lord’s words. Worshipers of Baal were brought together and killed. Jehu did not walk in the law of the Lord. He reigned for twenty-eight years and died. His son Jehoahaz reigned in his place.
