The insuleoin Podcast - Redefining Diabetes

#172: I Was Above 22mmol/L For 9 Months, & Went Into A Two Week Coma, I Thought I Was Going To Die, with Karen Green (Part 1)

In this week’s episode Eoin chats with Karen Green.

Karen is a member of Eoin’s Type 1% Programme and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 45. To say that her diagnosis was intense, dramatic, and terrifying would be an understatement.

She was initially misdiagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic for 9 months, which saw her living her life with blood sugar levels above 22mmol/L consistently. It wasn’t until a ‘lucky’ urine test that Karen discovered she was close to kidney failure, and had to rush into the hospital emergency room.
