The insuleoin Podcast - Redefining Diabetes

#84: 60+ Years of Type 1 Diabetes with Geraldine Rogers (Part 2).

Part 2 of Eoin's chat with Geraldine Rogers.

Geraldine is from Ireland and has been living with Type 1 Diabetes for over 60 years. Throughout this episode she offers us her stories, experiences, advice and secrets to living a healthy and happy life with Type 1 Diabetes.

Geraldine outlines how she could only test her blood sugar 4 times a day using urine tests, treated low blood sugars (hypos) with milk, ate at exactly the same time each day and took her insulin at the same time too. Now using an insulin pump, a lot has changed for Geraldine since she was first diagnosed.

Despite claiming that she “wouldn’t thank Diabetes for anything”, Geraldine still highlights how “life is for living, you should enjoy being a Diabetic!” To hear about her health, perspective, and positive mindset is very reassuring for any Diabetic out there.
