The insuleoin Podcast - Redefining Diabetes

#54: Running 4 Miles, Every 4 Hours, For 48 Hours.

This week’s episode of the podcast is a slightly different one.

Last weekend Eoin completed a running challenge of running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours, and takes us through the whole experience. He’s been running a lot recently since the gyms in Ireland have closed due to Covid-19 and felt a challenge like this would test him physically and mentally, but also test his blood sugar too.

As Eoin and Graham frequently highlight, Diabetes is like a constant science experiment. Understanding and making sense of your blood sugar around food, exercise, stress and insulin can be complicated. Eoin always claims, ‘there’s no better way to learn about your body and blood sugar than consistent trial and error’.

Eoin makes some predictions of what he feels will happen to his blood sugar throughout the 48 miles and 48 hours, and then outlines exactly how his body and blood sugar respond during the challenge. There’s some surprising results!

As always, be sure to rate, comment, subscribe and share. Your interaction and feedback really helps the podcast. The more Diabetics that we reach, the bigger impact we can make!
