Hey, Rough Rider fans, where are you? Those of us who were at the game on Saturday were just kind of wondering. This was a game the home field playoff match on the line. The riders went into it riding a three-game winning streak. There's a fairly nice October afternoon, a nice giving weekend, and a lot of fans showed up dressed as empty seats. And through the season, you could rationalize and say, well, you know, it's early. Well, it's summer and people are away. Well, it's a Friday night or a Sunday evening. Harder for people to travel. There were no such excuses for fans not wanting to be in the stands for this one, though. Maybe they've decided the big-screen TV experience from the couch is as good or better. Maybe it's the cost. A lot of people are facing a financial squeeze or maybe the fabled intensity of rider fans isn't what it was. The team showed up on Saturday, but a lot of fans did not. I'm Murray Wood.
