What's up, everybody, and welcome back to another Primetime edition of the Football Functional Podcast. I'm your host, Goose, and this week we're going to be going over all three of the primetime games for week six. Let's get things kicked off by going over the Thursday night game where the San Francisco 49ers went to Seattle to face off with the Seahawks. This was a pretty entertaining game. The first quarter kind of started off a little slow ending with the 49ers with only just a three-point lead. It kind of took them a little bit to get everything going, but really the 49ers were able to come alive in the second quarter, scoring 13 points and holding the Seahawks to a lead of 16 to 3 going into halftime. It was the third quarter when finally the Seahawks kind of came alive, scoring 14 points, making it a game. But really outside of that, they're just often never really clicked, brought party into the game with 255 yards, three touchdowns. Jordan Mason kind of into the second period, had a kind of a longer run and fell funny and hurt his shoulder. Only ran one more play the second half, so it's going to be interesting to kind of see how they're going to go, you know, they're already hit down, Chris McCaffrey, and if they're down him, they're going to be really limited on running backs there. So it's going to be kind of interesting. But again, you know, you still got just so many players, you got Deebo Samuels who's been running back before, so I don't really think they're worried, plus they're surely getting close to having Chris McCaffrey come back, which will be just huge for them. So then they've been able to get wins without Chris McCaffrey, just to be able to just stay in contention right now is what I think they're really just trying to do. As for the Seahawks, you know, Kenneth Walker had kind of a slow day, only 32 yards he did have a touchdown, Gino Smith throwing for 312 yards, had a touchdown, but he did throw two interceptions. So just kind of struggled throughout early the whole game, kind of like I said, it took him the first half to get going, and then just kind of ran out of steam in the fourth quarter ended up losing this game 36 to 24, both of these teams fall to three and three. So both of these teams, I think they're going to be good, you know, Seahawks, Gino Smith, you know, like I said, the two interceptions hurt, but he still threw for 312 yards. So they've still got a good quarterback in Gino Smith with DJ DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Kenneth Walker. They're going to be a solid team, and then really the same goes for the 49ers. I expect both these teams to win games moving forward. Like I said, if Chris McCaffrey is able to come back, it's going to be huge for the 49ers, but like I said, this one was really slow in the first half, but then kind of picked up overall was a very good, very good entertaining Thursday night game, I feel, you know, we kind of had to do a dud last week and, but overall, the Thursday night games have been pretty good. Last year, they were definitely more on the boring side, so I've been pretty pleased with them so far. But that being said, we're going to go ahead and move over to the Sunday night game where the Cincinnati Bengals faced off with the New York Giants, and, you know, talking about how Thursday night game was pretty entertaining, this one just was a dud, but, you know, these are two teams that are really struggling. Cincinnati's, you know, with all the talent they have having the start that they've had has just been shocking, and then the Giants just struggling all over the place. So it was kind of a low scoring game, like I said, the first score, Joe Burrow running for about a 50-something yard just fooled the entire Giants defense and was able to run for a touchdown. I personally didn't realize Joe Burrow was that fast, especially with all his leg problems and injuries and stuff. It was just kind of shocking to see how fast he was going, but, you know, like I said, that was the only score of the first half. Giants were able to get one touchdown in the third quarter. And then it was the Chase Brown 30-yard run that put the Cincinnati Bengals 17-7 to end this game. Joe Burrow ended the day with 200 and eight passing yards, and it's just shocking that he was the Bengals lead rusher just with that one rush. He had four carries, 55 yards and one touchdown just on the ground. T Higgins had a pretty good day, seven receptions, 77 yards. You can always count on whether two Higgins or Jamar Chase, one of them is going to have a good game. One of them is going to be good for them. Like I said, not a very exciting game, but the Cincinnati Bengals did get a much-needed win. Both of these teams are now two and four, kind of the low end of their division, but the Bengals are able to turn it on. We've seen it before. They've had bad starts in previous seasons and were able to come back. Giants. I don't know. They're going to really need Singletary to get healthy because their run game was just abysmal. Just really, their whole offense was abysmal, and they just, you know, Daniel Jones didn't throw, didn't do bad, 205 yards was put one interception, no touchdowns, and he liked Joe Burrow was the leading rushing rusher for their team, so it's never really a good sign when the quarterbacks are the two leading wrestlers on the teams in the game. But like I said, nothing really too exciting going on in the Sunday night game, so we're going to go ahead and move over to the Monday night game that just took place tonight, where the Buffalo Bills went on, face the New York Jets. This was a pretty entertaining game. If you like Miss Phil goals, a lot of penalties, two really good quarterbacks that played really good, and it kind of came down to the wire. It's kind of came out pretty strong, came out, got the ball, got a field goal, and then the Bills got the ball, ran down, got a Josh Allen one-yard touchdown, and then the Giants were able to match that by getting a five-yard pass from Garrett Wilson to Aaron Rodgers to make the lead 10-7 going into the second quarter. And then on the Bills kind of had a dominant second quarter if you can overlook one play. That one play just, I feel like it only happens because of the quarterback the Jets have. The play I'm talking about, I'm sure all y'all know, was the 52-yard Hail Mary pass into the second quarter that just Aaron Rodgers has a way of throwing them perfect, and I don't think that happens any other quarterback but him, but my God, he's really good at doing it. So you go into halftime 20-17, and from then on, there's just not a lot of offense going on from there. It was a pretty high-paced offense, and then penalties took over. We had missed fill goals from both sides, multiple ones from the Jets. I think they're really going to have to start looking into their kicker because I know we missed a game winner a couple weeks back, and then missing two this week, it hurts. It cost them the game in this one, honestly. Like I said, the Bills were able to win 23-20, but without those, I mean, missed fill goals. You don't realize how important they are until you look back and go, "Yeah, if we had those two, we'd won that game." So Josh Allen, dominating game. He's been kind of having a rough patch these few weeks, but he came back with throwing for 215 yards. He had two touchdown passes, one touchdown run, so just really an all-around great game for him. Aaron Rodgers probably had one of his better games as a jet, if you ask me, he threw for 294 yards, had two touchdowns. He did have an interception, but that came in late, and it was just a deep pass trying to get something going. The receiver slipped, and really the defender came out of nowhere to catch the interception, which ultimately sealed the deal for the Bills, like I said, getting the win. The Bills moved to 4-2, and the Jets moved to 2-4, so Bills, lucky for the Bills, they'll have a buy basically next week as they go to face the Tennessee Titans, and I won't even waste shells time talking about them, because I really just have nothing good to say about them right now. Really tough as a fan to watch a team with that much talent just continuously find ways to lose games. It's just really, really shocking. So, like I said, sorry about it only being one episode this week, guys, but I do appreciate everybody that tunes in to listen to the Primetime edition. I love going over these games, just love watching football, I believe next week we've got two Monday night games, so I'll be having four games to review next week, I'll try to break them up into a little more episodes, give the people more, so I hope y'all tune back in for week 7, and y'all have a good week.
