Bigger They Come Harder They Fall
I want you to listen to this in 1 Samuel chapter 16, verse 49, and David put his hand in his bag and took thence a stone and slung it and smoked the Philistine in his forehead that the stone sunk into his forehead and he fell upon his face to the earth. Listen to me. This is a word for you today, the bigger they come, the hotter they fall. You were getting ready to be blessed by the Word of God. But before we go into the Word, let's worship him this morning. And if I called his father's who could ever stop us, and if I called it with us, what could stand against? What could stand against? I got his greater, I got his greater, and I got his stronger. God, you are higher than any other, and I got his healer, he's awesome in power. I got, I got his greater, I got his greater, I got his stronger, God, you are higher than any other, I got his healer, he's awesome in power, I got, tell him if I got, and if I got his for us, who could ever stop us, and if I called it with us, what could stand against? Father God, bless your people this morning, May in past Amy we join our faith together, we lift them up before you. Dear God, work in their lives, work in their situations, their circumstances, and help them to overcome adversity, help them to overcome adversity, Lord, overcome adversity in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, amen. Good morning to you, Saints of the Most High, so good to be back with you again as we continue our series in talking about overcoming adversity. On this morning, we want to talk about the bigger they come, the hotter they fall. Come on if your hands to heaven and say it, the bigger they come, the hotter they fall. I wrote a book, The Hot of the Battle, The Sweet of the Victory, listen to this, we're picking up where we left off yesterday, because remember David bragged on God first, his gift made room for him, he was a musician, he was anointed, when he played the demons ran. Not only that, but he bragged on God, he gave God the glory. He didn't say it was me, he said, the Lord who delivered me from the lion and the bear, he gave the credit to God, you got to give God the credit, give him the glory, to God belongs the glory, to honor the power and the praise to him, be glory and power forever and ever. Let the church say, amen, it's not about you, it's not about me, it's all about Jesus Christ and him crucified. He gave God the glory, and as a result of that, King saw through the doors wide open, and this bring us into verse 40, because now it's time for action. Verse 40 says, and David took his staff in his hand and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook and put them in a shepherd's bag, which he had even in a script, and his sling was in his hand, and he drew net to the Philistine, now what's amazing to me? King Saul's army was running right by that brook, the stones that David would use to kill Goliath, was right there all along, but they couldn't see it. Why? Because they did not have the Spirit of God. David was anointed to see, he was anointed for battle, are you listening to me? When you are anointed, you see things that other people don't see. Would they consider an obstacle? You see it as a stepping stone to get to the next level, come on. What they see as a closed door, David seeing as a wide open door, are you hearing me? Praise God. So David drew net to the Philistine, and the Philistine came and drew net under David and the man that bears, he went before him, and when the Philistine looked out and saw David, he disdain him, he made fun of David, he scorned him, why? Because he had on all of this armor, he was a general in the army of the Philistines. They knew David was, he was just a shepherd boy, but the man was packing, he had the Holy Ghost, he had the anointing, God had already begin to give him favor with King Saul and great people, are you listening to me? We know King Saul was back sitting, but still, he took note of David and acknowledged him. Don't despise the day of small beginnings, though your beginning was small, your latter end shall greatly increase. Are you hearing me this morning, now watch this. So the Philistine thinks he can just wipe David out, and he made fun of him. And the Philistines said, I'm a dog, that you come to me which stops, and the Philistines, he cursed David by his gods, and I taught you guys what that meant, he was activating his demons because these folk work, witchcraft to win, but he was coming to contact with the Holy Ghost. Which craft can't work against God, come on somebody, watch this now, and the Philistines said to David, come to me and I will give you a flesh under the fowls of the air and to the beasts of the field. The devil loves to use the spirit affair, an intimidation to get you to back away, but David was made for the fight, I'd dare someone lift your hands to have it, say I'm built for this, I'm built for this fight, come on somebody, watch, I'm anointed to win, glory to God and I'm dressed to kill, watch this now, then said, then said David to the Philistines, you come to me with a sordid, with a spare, and with a shield, but I come to the end, the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied, you come to me with the, I am coming to you in the name of the God of Israel, this game is over. The minute David said that God stood up, come on somebody, all the angels, all the angels were right there, come on, because now it's God's reputation on the line, no David, David was smart, David said, my God is going to show you something today, this day David said, I had enough of you, I'm going to live another day, there comes a time in your life where enough is enough and too much is too much, do or die, sink or swim now and never let's go for it, amen, and so David said, this day will the Lord deliver you into my hand, David's not dependent on his self, he's not dependent on his sleingsaw and stool, David is depending on God and this is where we mess up sometimes, we get hooked on methods because that method we got the victory using that method and sometimes we think it's the method, it ain't the method, it's the God who's using that method to give you the victory, this day will the Lord deliver you into my hand and I will smite thee and take thy head from thee and I will give the Caucasus of the hosts of the Philistine this day unto the fowls of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, what a prophecy, there was no end in that, there was no television, that was no smartphone and yet David was able to see into the future and say what's getting ready to happen here, the whole world is going to hear about this, Lord have mercy, only could have been the Spirit of God and all this assembly shall know that the Lord saved not which sawed and specked for the battle is the Lord's, somebody just lift your hands to heaven and say this battle that I'm facing, this battle belongs to the Lord, I'm going to have to put my trust in God like never before, David had never fought a giant, he had never fought someone from another army but David was willing to do it without works of his dad, there comes a time you just got to step out the boat and face the giant saints, you just got to step out of that, step out of the comfort zone, God is with you, this is your time, this is your moment, God got you here, are you listening to me, you didn't come here because you wanted to, you are here because the Holy Ghost made a way for you, he opened the door, he anointed you, he chose you, he equipped you, this is your moment, my God I'm talking to somebody and it came to pass when the Philistine rose and came and drew an eye to meet David, that David hasted and ran, he tried to intimidate David but instead of David running away, David shocked the daylights out of him, David ran towards him, my God, the God versus the devil that my money is on God, my money is on the king of kings, watch this, David ran toward the army to meet the Philistine and David put his hand in his bag and took this stool and slang it and smoked the Philistine in his forehead, bam, lights out, light came over, came is over, smoked the Philistine in his forehead that the stone sunk into his forehead and he fell upon his face to the, it fell face down, humiliation and his God, that God was day gone, God did the same thing with that God day gone, broke off day gone's legs, a false God and day gone was faced down, you can read about it in 1 Samuel, he did the same thing to go lie that he did to that God day gone, what a spiritual battle and the enemies of God lost, so David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone and smoked the Philistine and slew him but there was no sword in the hand of David, therefore David ran and stood upon the Philistine and took his sword and drew it out of the sheet and slew him and cut off his head there with and when the Philistine saw their champion was dead, they fled, submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you, overcoming adversity you will overcome, the bigger they come, the harder they fall, father made past Amy join our faith which are wonderful people, we encouraged them, we strengthened them, we pray for them right now, the same way you gave David an astounding victory, give your people an astounding victory God, work in their lives, work in their lives God, give them victory, give them a breakthrough in their marriage and their relationships with their children and their finances on their jobs and their business and their ministry and their church, give them victory God, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, somebody say amen, listen I want to give someone a chance to come to Jesus, you know we are talking about this, this series you are never alone, he loves you so much he cares about you, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life, he is calling you, he died on Calvary Cross for you, he wants to forgive you of all of your sins, he wants to make you his child right now, without any further hesitation I want you to bow your head and reverence to God and say this prayer with me, say Lord Jesus I believe, you are the Son of God, I believe, you died on Calvary Cross for me, they crucified you, they murdered you in cold blood but on the third day God raised you from the dead, you are now seated at God's right hand and soon and very soon, you are coming again, thank you Jesus for forgiving me of all of my sins and writing my name in the Lamb's Book of Life, amen, if you prayed that prayer
