The three New York teams who were playing one, the New York Mets in the NLCS, the Yankees over the Guardians in the ALCS and the only NFL team that plays in New York, the Buffalo Bills beat New Jersey's not quite so finest. The Jets are probably behind the Giants right now. Who knows? Maybe they're both equally bad. They're both two and four. But the one team in New York got the win, Buffalo Bills. I'm sure Jets fans are going to love to wake up to see that today. But the Bills, they've been a little inconsistent this year. They look great at one point and then they fell flat against the Ravens a couple of weeks ago. I still think they've got the potential to be special because their quarterback is so damn good Devin. Yeah. And the talk going into this game was, does Buffalo have enough? Do they have enough weapons to help Josh Allen get to where he hasn't gotten yet to a Super Bowl? And I don't necessarily think all those questions were answered last night. But I will say they went up against a very tough Jets defense, a defense that everyone talks about being one of the best defenses in the NFL. And they've played that way for most of the season this year. Ray Davis, a rookie running back, stepped in for James Cook. And from the opening drive, Buffalo came out and they said, all right, we get it. You fired your head coach and the talk is going to be, you want to run the ball, but we're going to run the ball tonight. And that to me was glaring the way they came out and dominated on the open and drive, the line of scrimmage. But I mean, Josh Allen is unbelievable. And as he's rolling right as we saw in that first clip, and it's like, all right, just throw the ball away, Josh, just get rid of it, throw it away, throw it out of it. And he makes the throw to the middle of the field to Ray Davis or running back, not even like a star receiver. And you see plays like that, and you're just like, that's why this team will always have a chance. They'll always have a shot no matter who's over there, because he can make these unbelievable plays. And I will say, yes, there have been some opportunities where defenders have fallen short of catching a Josh Allen interception, but we have to give credit because this guy has always made these fantastic plays. But usually the next comment is, but he has to stop throwing interceptions through six weeks in the season right now. Josh Allen has zero interceptions. He has not been intercepted all year so far. So accredited him of still making some of these outstanding plays, but cutting way back on his turnovers and turnover opportunities. The touchdown pass to Dawson Knox. What he did, I mean, that was like running an obstacle course and pulling a rabbit out of his hat all at once. The body control, the awareness, all of the skills come together in one instant where he ducks down, he pulls up, he gets free, and then he throws the touchdown. And that felt like the dagger, kudos to the Jets for tying the game up after this. The Hail Mary happened not long after it. That just felt like night night at the end of the first half when you're playing against a guy who can do things like that. How do you ever have a chance to win? And what I loved about it is when you watch great players, every once in a while, they make a play and they're kind of surprised in their excitement level, like just takes off and rides. And you can see as he throws the ball at Dawson Knox and he's catching it, Josh Allen just keeps running two knocks on a sideline screaming because it was just like, Oh my goodness. Like, man, it was like, it was almost like he said himself, Josh, you're a bad man. Like that play right there, the guy basically has you sack. You duck out of it, roll to your left, and then torque your body back around and make a throw right in front of the front byline for the touchdown. I mean, the guy's unbelievable. And I will say, like you just said, credit to the Jets because they go up right there. And I'm like, okay, they go up right before the half. They're going to get a stop and get the ball back. Like this is going to be tough for the Jets to overcome. So for them to get the ball back, and I think it was like maybe 30 seconds, 37 seconds left on the clock to drive down the field and to make that play, I mean, really credit to them to get the Hail Mary, but Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, they continue to put pressure on the Jets all night long. They forced the Jets to make the winning plays and they just didn't make enough winning plays to walk away with a victory last night. Then touchdowns, zero interceptions so far this season for Josh Allen and if the cast around him isn't good enough and the Bills end up winning the division, positioning themselves for the top seed, the one seed or the two seed, maybe this is the year Josh Allen gets the the MVP, I'm going to say Hall of Fame. That's pretty mature. The MVP votes, and he deserves it because he really is the guy who's standing out and holding that offense together. One other note, and this is kind of real time texts I'm getting and questions I'm asking, the Hassan Redic hold out continues for the New York Jets last Thursday. His former agency fired him abruptly and over the weekend, there was some reporting suggesting that Hassan Redic was not going along with advice that was pointing toward working out a deal with the Jets at some point earlier in the season and obviously it's so rare that the agent fires the client. It has to be the clients not listening to the agent, but yesterday there was a meeting between Drew Rosenhouse, his new agent and GM Joe Douglas and I'm picking up indications Devin, even though Rosenhouse told NFL Network last night that the goal is to work something out with the Jets, apparently there's a window day or two for him to try to retrade Hassan Redic because it was a trade from the Eagles to the Jets. There may be a narrow window here before they go back to it's either, you know, play for the Jets or stay home, a narrow window to trade him to a new team. I could understand that because like you said, when I first saw the report that his agency was fired and I was like, wow, they're just giving up that percent. I mean, it must have really turned into a headache. But then the other hand, I'm like, what is a new agent going to change when you talk about the deal that's in place, it's either kind of a yes or no, at this point, because I got to imagine the team and whoever the other agent was, they were rolling through a lot of different scenarios, different contracts or whatever. So I got to imagine they're at a point where it's either you sign or you don't sign, but I think that's the key, which you just said of whatever Rosenhouse's relationships are throughout the league, if he can broker a trade. What I mean again, for another team, what are you willing to trade for a guy who now hasn't played football in a long time, miss all of training camp. Now we're six weeks into the regular season. It would be scary to think that a team is going to think that Hassan retica can come in and just perform at that same level. If he does credit to him, but that's a tough adjustment to not play and come on and be expected to be a big time provider and help before a successful football team. You asked the question, what would you willing to be trade or willing to trade? Excuse me. English can be difficult for me at times. Ask the lions what they'd be willing to trade right now desperation can create that willingness. No aid in Hutchinson. We're going to talk about that later in the program. Got a need now and I don't know. It's probably easier to plug and play a pass rusher. I know you need to know the rest of the defense around you. But if you're just a situational pass rusher, not that I don't want to mean the position, it's an important one. But if that's all you do, it's not like it takes a lot of time to mesh with your teammates. You just go out there. You get around the edge and you try to get to the quarterback. So I think that and this is the thing, whether it's Devontae Adams, pick your player, any potentially disgruntled player. I mean, there's some rumbling out there that maybe Matthew Stafford would like to finish the season, you know, with a contending team. And injury changes everything. We got three more weekends of football. We saw the aid in Hutchinson injury. All of a sudden there could be a market in Michigan for Hassan Redick and get this thing all worked out to everyone's satisfaction. So keep an eye on that. I know I will be, but I'm getting some indications that there is apparently a short window for Rosenhouse to work out to trade. He does have those relationships throughout the league and you know, that's just a reality. We're three weeks away from the trade deadline. And Devont, if you've got needs, you can either sign somebody off the street who's available at this point for a reason, or you can go ahead and make a trade. And we've seen both happen. We've seen some guys get picked up late in the season and have, you know, big years for teams, for contenders that come in, they stay ready and they're able to play a pivotal role. We've seen big time trades happen that change the outlook of some of these teams post season play. So very interesting time. I think this has to be vetted out very well by all of the teams that get involved in making a trade. But being in New England, Coach Bellich, I used to always talk about that. Sometimes you get key injuries and you have to be ready and you have to have a list of guys that you think might be available for trade or guys that have been on the street that you've worked out and that you feel comfortable with bringing them in and making a difference on your team. Because when you have a window to win a championship, the Detroit Lions have been good last year and now this year, where they still look like a team that can make it to a Super Bowl, you don't want to let that just pass by and think, you know what, we'll get eight in back next year and every now, like the year could be now. So whoever the pass rusher or defensive in that can come and take some of the burden off of other guys that they lose because of Ada Hutchinson's injury. You got to think about making a big move, even if it doesn't work out overall for years to come. But if it can net you a Super Bowl appearance this year, I think Brad Holmes, the GM for the Lions, I think he'll be looking to make a move like that. The eight in Hutchinson injury happened during a complete and total dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys. To return, what is our confidence in the How About Them Cowboys after what we saw happen to them? How about that on Sunday? We'll discuss it next year on PFT Live. You know, I think it's important for all of us and this is part of the message to the team is, you know, I gave him a number of questions today as far as things to think about, make sure they are reflecting, make sure they are looking in the mirror and you know, just make sure you're filling in the blanks because of, you know, why are we on the 7th floor? You know, why do we perform seven days ago the way we performed at one o'clock in the morning and then come home and perform the way we did. At the end of the day, if we totally don't believe it's about us and it will always be about us and play to who we are, what we do, how we do it, then we're not going to get to where we want to go. And I believe we will. And I think this is an opportunity that we relish, I know I relish it and I think they do too. So this is a place that a lot of good can come out of it. Pittsburgh native Mike McCarthy sounded a little like he's talking through a Darth Vader mask or something, I don't know, maybe getting your ass kicked like that causes your voice to drop an octave or two, but I saw the quotes last night from McCarthy that the team relishes the opportunity and I relish it too. I guess you have to come up with something. I guess you just can't say we're not very good and this is going to be a long year and we're going to win some and we're going to lose some. But if we do make it to the playoffs and we probably won't, we're going to get our asses kicked before the division around. It's a wildcard. I mean, we've seen teams like this before, scratch and claw and hope and maybe and that's been the story of the Vikings, frankly, for the last decade. Maybe get to the playoffs. Oh, win a wildcard game. Oh, get blown out in the division around when you lose a game like that at home to one of the elite teams in the conference. How in the what is there to relish about it, Devin? What can you lie to yourself about to make you feel like it's going to be any better than what it's been? First off, they're never going to bring you in for any pregame hype up speech or anything because it's just way, way too real. But I think for the Cowboys, you have to hang your hat on what you've done and hang your hat on your best player. So you have some injuries, you kind of lean on, Hey, we got to get guys healthy. We need other guys to step up until they get healthy. And then you talk about how Dak and CD lamb haven't connected the way that we plan for them to connect. So you try to hang your hat on those things, the kind of guys in the locker room that you have that you know are playmakers. But I think the hard thing is it's not just their record. It's the way they lose. It's the way that you come out at home and get just embarrassed that way. So even though you hang your hats on, hang your hat on some of those things in the character of your team, I think Mike McCarthy's also questioning how well do I know my team right now? What is going on that I can't get these guys ready to play when it's time to play every single week. So as much as coaches and players will try to, you know, foster up some type of excitement or something to lean on. I think right now when down, so I'm being honest, it's tough to find really anything the way that they've played some of these home games. Yes, you lean on the good things and the games you've wanted, you played well, but when it's so limited and the bad outweigh the good. It's hard to fully and truly believe that you can get things turned around. So as we finally get to what this segment is about conference meter, I'm the one that took us off the rails. I apologize for that. But on a scale of one to 10, what is your confidence level that the Cowboys can bounce back from the humiliation that they endured on Sunday? I give them, I give them a five simply because I think Dak Prescott is a, is a really good quarterback. And the reason it's not higher is because what's left on their schedule. They have San Francisco, Atlanta, Philly twice, Houston, Washington twice, Cincinnati and Tampa on that schedule. So what is turning it around mean, it might just mean you look better, but it might not result in a lot of wins because they have some of the best teams on the NFL on that schedule. But at three and three, I give them a 50 50 chance to get this thing pointed in the right direction. Yeah. And I guess bounce back requires contact bounce back to what bounce back to a fringe playoff team that gets its ass kicked in the division around the latest. Confidence will get to that is, you know, a six or a seven confidence that there'll be a team that can play in the NFC championship for the first time since 1995. That's a one or a zero. This team's disqualified, it's disqualified itself from getting to the NFC championship. All sorts of crazy stuff is going to need to have to happen for the Cowboys to get there. And it's going to be injuries and other weirdness for the teams they'll be competing with or weird moments, bad calls, gust of wind. They're going to have to thread the needle of flukes to get themselves to where they've been trying to get since 1995 and in turn save the job of Mike McCarthy. The only good news. They don't play another home game until November the 10th. That's good news for the paying customers. That's good news for the people who show up and have to endure what has been so far this year, deficits of 21 to six, 28 to six and 27 to six. This team is not built to come back from that kind of a margin. They play from a head well. They play from behind poorly speaking to teams that play from, well, they're never ahead. They're rarely ahead. So we don't know how they'll play from ahead. The Cleveland Browns. Let's hear from Kevin Stofansky on the latest time he's been asked the weekly question of benching to Sean Watson. Why not put in James Winston to give the Browns a spark? Here's what he said. Yeah, I think it's just important that we continue to do everything we can. We can play good sound football. I think there were moments of that, obviously, yesterday. I think that Sean gives us the best chance to win, continues to give us the best chance to win, and we need to play really good offensive football at his position and really at every position to be successful on Sunday. Yeah, look, I feel bad for the guy. He's stuck. He's not making the decision. He said it's my decision. It's my decision. Ownership supportive. No, ownership's telling you directly or indirectly, expressly or implicitly what to do. And we all know that by now. Whatever the strategy is, whatever it is, it's not coming from the coach. It's coming from hiring the organization, which is kind of how it works in some teams, especially Cleveland. So with all that said, Devin, what is your confidence meter level, one to 10, that the Sean Watson can turn it around at this point? This is easy. You can't even give them a point, I think, right now from what we've seen on tape. This Cleveland Browns team, they don't do anything well enough to think that they can turn it around. They can't really hang their hat on much other than a couple explosive plays they played on defense where, you know, you force a fumble and Rodney McLeod scoops and scores against the Raiders or this week, Miles Garrett blocks a field goal and they scoop and score. But other than that, like, nothing looks good. We thought this defense would be able to dominate. They haven't been able to do that. The offense can't do much. So and they're, they're in a tough division, the AFC North, where you got Baltimore, you got Pittsburgh and you got Cincinnati, he's going to be battling to get back in this race. So I think Cleveland, you know, if you're, if you're a Brownie right now and you're on that team, hey, book your flight, decide where you want to go on vacation in January and let the rest be history. Yeah. Don't worry about having to go to New Orleans. The playoffs can culminate in the Super Bowl. You know, I don't know what, and I'm with you on, it's zero, it's negative seven, negative four since he wears number four, I don't know what they're trying to prove by continuing to play him. And at one level, it's just the stubbornness of we have to justify the contract and the draft picks. That's the easy. The Stockholm's razor, the simplest explanation is usually the accurate one at a deeper level. Though this is a team that had a five year plan to tank and they, you know, they polished it up. So it wasn't expressed. And what do I mean by that? Well, they were paying bonuses based upon how much cap space they carried over. They were paying bonuses based on how many draft picks they stockpiled for future years. It was the consequences of dismantling your team of not spending on your team and what flows from that you're going to lose. That's what they did. And Hugh Jackson brought all that to a head a few years ago because he's the one that was the scapegoat when they went 0 and 16. Maybe they're doing that again. Maybe the idea is, hey, okay, it's no lose for us. He either gets back to being the guy he was, which would be good, or he keeps stinking, which will be good also. And maybe along the way, he'll decide, I'm getting too old for this shit. Sorry, London. And he'll just retire. That's the only way out of this at this point is if he just decides, I don't want to do this anymore. Keep your 92 million. I'm going home wishful thinking, but I just feel like that's why ownership. Who knows why, but I feel like there's, there's no bad way out of this for them. If they're, if they're committed to keeping them on the field, either he gets better. He stays bad and we get a better draft pick or he potentially just decides I've had enough. And that's the problem with losing. I think when you lose over and over again for years and my brother was there for that 0 and 16 season, he said it to me, he said, it's a losing culture now. It's like everybody always thinks in the back of their mind, Hey, we're the Browns. It's just not going to work out. And that's just the feeling you get from this Cleveland Browns organization. They have to find a way out of it. And I don't think losing is the way in Sir James Winston, see if you get a spark and go win some games. Did they give out like a ring or a watch or anything to commemorate the 0 and 16 season? I guess not since they weren't the first to do it. Yeah, you just got to, I think you got a front row seat out of the parade that they have for the 0 and 16 season. They won't be having many parades in Jacksonville for the Jaguars. There is Doug Peterson who very well might have been fired yesterday if the Jaguars weren't staying in London for consecutive games. He came out and said on Sunday after Andre Cisco said he saw a lot of quit in the Jaguars defense and Doug Peterson said, we need to change the culture. Here's Peterson from Monday regarding his comments about changing the culture. Obviously, we've lost some games here, right? So we want to change that culture to a winning culture. That's why we coach and that's why we play. I think to that statement that I made, I mean, these guys, listen, they bust their tail. I've said this and you've seen how we've practiced, I mean these guys bust their tails during the week and I don't want them to feel, even though we haven't won yet, I don't want them to feel sort of mentally defeated if that makes sense. Because that's where the slippery slope comes in, right? If you feel like you're going into a game where you don't have a chance, then you're not going to have a chance. You're not going to give yourself an opportunity to win that game. So that's what I mean by that culture there. We just got to make sure these guys stay mentally, stay positive with each other, stay positive during the week and listen, bottom line is just go out and have fun. Folks, what you just heard is what happens when somebody says something that they know they never should have said and they're given a chance to try to clean it up the next day. Because we all know what it means when a coach says, when anyone connected to football says we have to change the culture and no word salad from Doug Peterson. And I respect Doug Peterson, and I think he knew that he probably shouldn't have gone there because you're filling out your own pink slip, Devin, when you're the coach of a team six weeks into a season, saying we got to change the culture, who created the culture? Who's responsible for it? You can't change it at this point. It's interesting because all throughout sports or any type of major group, the word culture is always used, change the culture. We have a good culture, the culture is bad, and always I'm like, what does that really mean? And I remember I read The Culture Code by Daniel Coyle, and in that book they talk about culture as people. It's the people who created whatever it is that they decide to do day in and day out. They create that culture. So when you say the culture has to change, I agree with you. It's like you're saying, guys, I'm the culture. I created this. Get rid of me. You need new people in here to create the new culture. So I understand when you get after the game and you're talking and you say that, and I'm sure he probably has said that to his team, but it's just not something you want to say in the media, because now he got asked about it Monday, he's going to get asked about it again today. He's going to get asked about it tomorrow, he's going to get asked about it after the game, son. It's going to be a question, did the culture change? What are some of the things you're seeing? Did the culture get worse? Now he's created this kind of storm of questions that are going to surround only the culture of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The only way to change the culture during the season is change the coach bottom line. So what is your confidence level that the Jaguars can indeed find a way to change the culture six weeks into the season? I'll give it a one. You get to stay in London. You got the new England Patriots coming in who have Jera Mayo, new head coach. So sometimes changing the culture starts with just one win. And this is a game that if I'm Jacksonville, you should win this game. Like you, you played, you know, not great ball this year, but New England has been struggling. They're trying to find their way. So it's a game that I think both teams are looking like they could win, but I think for Jacksonville, I give you a one because this is a winnable game. You got to go do it and it's not a guarantee you will do it or the number will be a little higher. And, you know, I don't think I've ever really said this before because I've got a ton of respect for shotgun, his success story coming to this country as a teenager, getting a college degree and starting a business and turning it into the kind of behemoth that allowed him to buy an NFL team, but he's on the team for over a decade now. And if I'm going to say it about Woody Johnson, if I'm going to say it about Jimmy Haslam, if I'm going to say it about other owners who are presiding over teams that are historically dysfunctional, it all starts with the owner. He's the guy that hired Urban Meyer. He got a kind of a pass for that. Like I don't know that anybody was assuming Urban Meyer was going to be Bill Belichick. And when it went off the rails, it's kind of like, what did you, what would you really do to make sure that this is the right guy? So at some point, Khan is the one who needs to be blamed for creating the culture. It gets back to Cleveland, Devin, you can change the coaches. You can change out this. You can change out that. But there's a culture that your brother detected there that even though they, they accidentally got to the playoffs last year, they had a great defense and I thought they were good enough to advance. I mean, they had, they have a great team and they would be even better if they didn't have this to Sean Watson ball and chain. But the culture starts, yes, at a certain level with a coach, but also with ownership. Would you, would you think of Khan differently if, you know, the, the New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, AFC game, 2017 season, if Miles Jack is able to, you know, run that return back, would you think of Jacksonville a little differently? Well, he was able to run it back. It was a horrible call. I still think what would have happened, because you guys would have been down 17 points. What? It was the fourth quarter or late third quarter. You'd have been down 17 points. Tommy would have found a way to win it 10 points, 17 points. He still would have found a way to win it. All right, all right, but, but you're right. If they'd made it to a super ball, that goes a long way toward, but they're one of the handful of teams that never has, including the Browns. So at some point you got a, and the jets for 53 years, at some point, you got to look at the top of the organization. Are they making the right decisions? And are they sticking with their decisions through thick and thin? I don't know. Maybe they should let this ride. I said, tough one. It's a tough one. I'm glad I don't have to make the decision. I'm glad I just get to criticize the decision that someone else has made. Let's take a break. When we return, how will the Aidan Hutchinson injury impact the Detroit Lions Super Bowl chances? Manhust is a captain for us, highly productive player, a great teammate, does everything right. And what's happened, one hell of a game, one hell of a season. And so look, it hurts. It hurts to lose somebody like him, not only the player, but the person that's in that locker room, the leader that he is, you know, but that being said, listen, it's, we move forward. And let me say this, before I get to what I was just saying, look, it's, it's, it's 46 months. I would never count high job ever. I mean, you feel confident that you come in a super bowl every time I saw the kids with which I have in house. Yeah, I mean, listen, my job is to coach what's here, and I'm going to coach the hell out of them. And we are as a staff. And so yeah, I do. And if we get somebody great, if we don't, these are our guys and the coaches know that. This is what we came in the camp with. This is why we develop talent and this next man up, they got to be ready to go. Next man up or next man in, we talked earlier about the possibility of a son ready going to the lions or the lions can do what so many other teams do. Next man up, no excuses, the Bella check way, no excuses for injuries, no, no, no down in the mouth. No. Oh, what was us? No, no, it's not our year. You just keep plugging. You expect the backup to come in and get the job done. And it's going to be the backup, whoever it may be for four to six months. And there was a report yesterday from the Detroit news that there's a chance Aidan Hutchinson will be back for the super bowl. If the lions make it, it's still not clear exactly what happened. For example, call to the compound fraction and PR comes out and says, no, it's not a compound fracture. They said it's the tibia, but he also had surgery on the fibula. So I don't really know. I know it's not good. And I wouldn't rush to get back for the super bowl or to even get ready to get back for the super bowl. There's a certain toll it's going to take on you. If you rush to get back for a game, there's no guarantee you're going to play in. So I just hope he does everything he can to get himself healthy and ready to continue his career in 2025. Not trying to force it back in 24, Devin. Yes, we talk about how hard it is to have that window to win a super bowl. That doesn't mean you ultimately ruin your career trying to chase that one year. This team is a good football team that they've assembled. They should have other opportunities. And if Aidan Hutchinson is fully healthy, he can get back and help understand as a player and competitor, you want to be in that game, but they need to make sure they keep him away from himself and hurting himself more by going back out there. And I do think when you lose a guy like Aidan Hutchinson, everyone first right away is like, they got to go get a guy. Everybody was talking about Max Crosby, everybody's now talking about Hassan Redick. I think the biggest thing for Detroit is we talked about culture. They've created a culture and they have guys in there that believe in what they do, whoever they bring from the outside in in the middle of the season. They need to make sure that that guy comes in and understands their culture, what they're about, and what they want to do because the last thing they want is to insert somebody after there's been a bunch of guys already there working their butts off, waiting for an opportunity and then you elevate this guy right in front, it better be the right type of player to fit in that locker room because that can hurt you more than it can help you. Yeah, you're absolutely right. And boy, if they could get Max Crosby, there's no indication he wants to lead the Raiders. No idea what the Raiders would want for him, but Crosby would fit that culture. Crosby's got the attitude, the mindset, the dedication, he's from Michigan. It's too perfect. It's almost as perfect as the Lions drafting Aidan Hutchinson trading for Max Crosby. Okay. So even with the Hutchinson injury, Devin, the odds have shifted in the Lions favor to win the Super Bowl. They've gone from plus 1000, that's 10 to one before week six. They're now plus 850 and look at how it's kind of steadily gone down after they lost to the box. It went from 10 to one to 12 to one, but since then 12 to one, 11 to one, 10 to one, and now eight and a half to one and it'll potentially go even lower when they go to Minnesota and win this weekend against the undefeated bike. I believe in this team since the beginning of the season, I think what they got an opportunity to do last year of hosting playoff games and winning, I just felt like that team was going to walk away from last season and say, man, we kind of blew it. There's so much more we can do. And that's the kind of laser focus they've come back with this season. They've gone out there and they play good football, hasn't all been perfect, still some adversity and now obviously this Hutchinson injury brings even more adversity, but I don't see a reason why this team can't be in the Super Bowl this year. They'll have to find out how their defense will change and shift with losing Hutchinson, but the way they can score on offense and they can play from ahead and play their style of game and their style of football, they can definitely get to that Super Bowl. By the way, another team that is kind of a Super Bowl contender. I don't know. They've got a lot more work to do. Jonathan Allen done for the season with a torn pectoral muscle. He's the veteran defensive tackle for the Washington commanders and even though they lost on Sunday, they don't give up on the commanders. Let's take a break. Eagles fans may want to give up on Nick Serrion, he had a little change of tune on Monday following his explanation for whatever we saw at the end of the game on Sunday. We'll discuss that next year on PF2 Live. Hey Nick, I was curious, in the off season, Jeffrey Larry said he liked that you showed passion as a head coach, and it went you to lose that, but considering the kind of extreme negative reaction yesterday, have you heard from Jeffrey Larry at all about what happened yesterday and what was his feedback? I know Mr. Larry and I talk every time after the game, every time I haven't talked to him yet today. I know how supportive Mr. Larry has been through everything. I would say this about that, you know, what I was really doing, I was trying to bring energy yesterday, energy enthusiasm yesterday, and I'm sorry and disappointed on how my energy was directed at the end of the game and my energy sheet all in on coaching, motivating, right, and celebrating with our guys, and so, you know, that's, you know, and I got to have better wisdom and discernment of when to use that energy, and that wasn't the time. So, you know, we have the best fans in the world, there's been no place like this, and they show up and show out no matter where we are. First of all, it sounds like somebody got called to Mr. Larry's office in the aftermath of what happened on Sunday, and words like wisdom and discernment don't seem to naturally flow from the mouth of Nick Sirianni. I think when he was sitting in Mr. Larry's office, he was told you need to have the wisdom and discernment. He did, he did smartly use the passive voice to say his energy was directed. He's the one directing the energy. He's the one responsible for his behavior, and it really is on becoming to an NFL head coach to allow yourself to get into that kind of an exchange with fans. You need to be above it. That's just a half click away from Rex Ryan given fans the middle finger. We're at the point now, this is who Sirianni is. He's a passionate fiery guy, and I'm all cool with that. But the thing that I don't accept about this whole exchange is it's after the game. There's 48 seconds left, you've won the game. Have that passion and energy when you come out, and they're booing you, and they're going after you, and maybe a lot of people don't think this fits the critique or the criteria I should say of being an NFL coach. But if this is who you are and you come out and they're booing, turn to the crowd, egg them on, talk to your trash, but don't wait until you get the game sealed, and now you want to turn, you want to give them all of this energy and be all extra, but we've seen them do that. Whether it was in Kansas City, I know it wasn't at their own fans, but they win, and then he's yelling at the fans like, I would love to see Sirianni take that passion and everything he has bottled up, release it at points in the game where you're not sure you're going to win, then you have to actually back it up. That's what I would love to see. I get it is who he is, but the after the game part is what bothers me the most about all of the energy he gives once it's all over and said, said and done with. But there's always a chance, Devin, and I recall a playoff game from almost seven years ago now where Sean Payton and the head coach of the Saints decided after the New Orleans team erased a sizable deficit in Minnesota, and it looked like they were going to win the game. He decided to mockingly do the skull clap to the Vikings fans. A little did you know that Kase Keenum and Stefan Diggs had a trick left, left up their sleeves. So there's wisdom in waiting, if you're going to do it, be a hundred percent sure that the haze in the barn before you mock the fence. But just there's no and I understand we're human. We have emotion, but I grew up watching Tom Landry. I grew up watching Bud Grant. I grew up watching Chuck Knoll. There's a demeanor. There's a way about the coaches that everyone respects. And I think that's what it ultimately comes down to, who's going to really respect Nick Sirianni for acting like a drunken frat boy at the end of a game like that? And I think people have to realize this isn't special to Philadelphia. And I know the name that Philadelphia fans get, but I was in New England and Matt Patricia's last year there as the offensive coordinator. We're in the middle of games and the fans are behind our bench. You need to be fired. They're yelling at them. So it's not like all, you know, let's feel bad for Sirianni because he has to coach in Philadelphia. This is all loyal fan bases when it's not going well. They will state their opinions. I play for Greg Shiano who went to Tampa, somebody they went and paid for a billboard that said fire coach Shiano. So this happens to all coaches. So to that point, what you just said, Mike, coaches are above this. You have to walk that line of being the face of the franchise and doing the right thing. So I hope people realize that this isn't unique just as Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles. This happens all over professional sports for any type of head coach. The passion that will cause fans to say things like that is the passion that gets them through the door. You don't have that job and you definitely don't get paid what you're getting paid. And Evan, I always used to say about coach Belichick, Hey, if you got a problem with all the media scrutiny and you don't like doing the press conferences, you know, I'm sure there's a high school hiring a lacrosse coach somewhere, you'll be paid accordingly. It's because people care that you get paid, that it is a big deal and you, you have to accept that's just part of it. It's getting fired as part of it. Having fans boo and complain and try to get under your skin when things aren't going well is part of it. Acting like a baby should not be part of it and what he doesn't realize. Those fans are probably season ticket holders. They're probably going to be back and there's probably going to be a day when things aren't going well and he's definitely going to hear from them then. No doubt about it. What do they say? Don't don't write checks. You can't cash. No, he's going to find out because this fan base and even fans that weren't there. Now they're waiting to go to the next home game just to continue to feel the fire of this fire, Sirionni, whatever you want to call it, booze, they're going to be ready to go in Philadelphia because one thing about Philadelphia, they're not going to back down from a challenge. Not one fan in Philadelphia will do that. Yeah. And look, they got to win games bottom line because now you've got the easy justification to move on from Nick Sirionni because of how he acted on Sunday. So it's on him now even more pressure than before on Nick Sirionni to win. We got to take a break when we return. Mike McDaniel providing a bit of an update on the status of his quarterback to a talk about low. That's next to your own PFT life. There's still information that he's that he's seeking this week and as far as timelines go. I know he's not playing this week and I do expect to see him playing football in 2024. But where that is exactly what the process continue since we still have time before he even could entertain anything. So Mike McDaniel, coach of the Dolphin there off week six, he can't play this week because Tua isn't eligible until week eight when they play the Cardinals. It felt like the momentum was building toward Tua coming back for that game. They need him. None of the other quarterbacks are getting it done. The season starting to fall apart. When Mike McDaniel says I expect him to play at some point in 2024, my reaction is if you don't start winning some games, I don't expect him to play in 2024 because there's a point where you just say there's no reason to put him back on the field. I said him, I, I assumed when the concussion happened, we saw the fencing posture, people were calling, I think prematurely and literally responsibly for him to retire right in the aftermath of it. I was hoping that the way this would work out is get him through the season, make a decision after the season without the urgency of a game or a season riding on it because that's a magnet, especially when you're at the games. That's a magnet drawing you back out onto the field. And I thought you hit it right on the head a few weeks ago when we discussed this and your biggest fear you said was that he would feel the need to come back to help save this team. And I agree with you. I think if they can't muster up some wins, then yeah, you just set out. So I mean, I think for two of the best case scenario is the Dolphins keep losing and he gets the opportunity to make a decision that is based purely on him and his future health. Everything down the line is wife is kids and not the feeling of being in the building watching the offensive film, sitting in the quarterback meeting room and having to hear guys get coached up or see the bad football on tape and then having to go in the locker room and laugh and joke with your guys and knowing they're taking the field and you're not and then in the back of your mind knowing you give the team the best opportunity to win. Like that kind of pressure for a player is just so hard because you never get out of the moment of not want to let your teammates down. Not want to, you know, go out there and side by side fight with them. So I really hope he doesn't have to feel that pressure. I've been in situations where I've played her and done different things and I'm honest, the motivating factor for me was I knew when I was out there, I helped our team win football games. I played for the team and I just want to fill that role each and every time I had the opportunity to do it. So I played her and I did those things. So I just hope in this situation that burden gets lifted off of to and he can just make a decision hopefully in the off season with a lot of time to think about it. The fact that McDaniel phrased the way he did Devin, I think speaks to I hope the sensitivity to that urgency and the idea that we can't bring him back at a time. When we feel like we need him and him alone to turn this around. So basically, let's see if we can turn this around without him thereby reducing the urgency and making it easier for him to come back when he's ready. If we can't turn it around without him, we already have our answer. He doesn't play again this year. Again, I'm thinking about his long term career and I know at the end of the day, it's his decision. No one should be making the decision for him. We take far greater risks in this country for far less money than what Toa talking about Loa makes to assume the risk of yet another concussion. It's his business. It's his decision. Once he's cleared, but there are other factors that I think complicated, tempt you and maybe make you make a bad decision that you wouldn't have made without the benefit of some distance and take some of that steam out of the situation. I think that's all we're hoping for, his opportunity to make the best decision for himself. I don't know that these circumstances provide. Yeah. And I want to give credit to Mike McDaniel because oftentimes in the NFL, we say it's a business and we say no one really cares about you. It's all about how you can help the team now. And it just feels like since Mike McDaniel has gotten down to Miami, the one thing that sticks out about him, even when you talk to people is that it seems like he cares. He cares about the players. He's been very supportive of to a, you've seen a relationship kind of shine through hard knocks. So I love that he's keeping to his interests. It seems like at the front of this situation and saying, like you just said, let's figure things out first and then we can address to it and what the pros and cons of him coming back. And that's all pros and cons to him as a person, not just a Miami Dolphins football team. So I got a credit Mike McDaniel for doing it the right way. Emotional intelligence. That's the phrase that you hear from time to time. I mean, Mike McDaniel's a smart guy, but he's a people person and he understands that you can't treat guys like pieces of a machine that are going to be thrown out into the street and replaced. You have to care about you guys, especially your quarterback, but all your players, you have to, and it's hard. See, that's the problem. I think that's why, I think that's why Bill Belichick always had distance from like Tom Brady. It's hard if you develop personal feelings for someone to then do what you have to do. You can still be nice and friendly and get along and everybody's grown up. They understand at some point players are going to be cut. They're going to be traded. It's a zero sum game of 53 athletes. You go from 90 to 53 every year. We're big boys. We get this. You can still be nice to the person without believing it's going to affect your ultimate judgment. And I've yet to see, I don't know, I don't think it affects Mike McDaniel's judgment as a coach that he gives a crap about his players. They understand how it works. It's so much back to who you are as a person. I think sometimes we watch these coaches and we either get a Nord or we compliment them. But the truth of the matter is they're still people. So sometimes people are really good at understanding their emotions and talking and doing those different things that comes along with having to be a head coach. Other times that's not other guy's strengths. And I think obviously I spent my whole 13 years with coach Belichick. I don't think one of his strengths is being a people person and being out and about and making new friends and talking and building on relationships that are just personal relationships with players because that's just not who he is. And that's what I've always loved and respected about Bill Belichick was he's himself. And I see the same thing in Mike McDaniel, just his true self no matter what people think or what bill or what thing he might need to try to fit to be a head coach, he doesn't care about that. That's the same thing my time in New England with coach Belichick. He was just himself. Whether you liked it or you didn't, he wasn't changing for anybody. And you know, I think people like authenticity just because they know what they're dealing with. There's no games being played, nobody's speaking out of two sides of their mouth. Nobody's saying anything different behind your back than they'll say to your face. They are who they are unapologetically and unwaveringly. Life's too hard to try to be anyone other than who you are. That would be a good t-shirt, but it would probably have to spill onto the back. Well, we'll think about that some more. We'll have more PFD live for you right after this charges coach Jim Harbaugh had an atrial flutter on Sunday, went to the blue tent, went to the locker room, IV and a magnesium pill. Cardiologist on Monday, he's going to wear a heart monitor for two weeks. And he's also taking medication. I did the heart monitor thing for three days back in May. It's a weird experience. They're all like this self-contained. I know there are different ones, but it's a little self-contained device that tapes to your chest and it's got electrical leads on it and it's just there. And you get used to it. I missed it when it was gone, like it becomes an extension of your body. And every time you feel weird, you press a button. And so they'll track it for two weeks and they'll get an idea of what's going on with his heart, but it's just part of the effort to diagnose very complicated organ, diagnose what's going on in there to cause him to feel that way. It seems like it was good that Harbaugh had that and they were able to get on top of that right away, especially in a situation like that, he was able to go inside, get what he needed and then come back and still coach his football team just, I mean, medicine and technology, awesome nowadays. So a good job by Harbaugh and the training staff for getting that situation right. Here at PSA, the fact that he got checked out, the fact that he activated it during a game and underscores the importance, man, especially, if you don't feel well, go to the doctor. Don't be stubborn. Be smart. It's okay. They'll fix you and you'll live longer. Go to the doctor if you have to. That's it for today. See you tomorrow. Attention all, cheese lovers.
