Welcome to the Professional Podcast Network where Brilliant meets business, elevate your brand, and supercharge your revenue with inspiring insights and innovation. Hey there everyone and welcome back to the show. This is your host Phil and our next guest here today is Dr. Joseph Papalya, based out of Satalka New York with his business called Satalka Chiropractic and Wellness. How you doing today? I'm doing great. How you doing, Phil? You're doing wonderful. Thank you for asking. So Dr. Papalya, tell us a little bit more here about what services you provide here at Satalka Chiropractic and Wellness. Great. Yeah. Thanks for having me. So our office, we provide an array of treatments for patients. So, you know, we do a lot of rehab work, a lot of muscle work. We also do something called corrective spinal rehab. We actually can correct people's scoliosis and spinal correction issues. We also do sports injuries, auto injuries, work is comparable to injuries, people with chronic headaches, and also provide an array of services from a nutritional herbal standpoint on keeping people healthy, even if they're not in pain. So our array of treatments and modalities range anywhere from someone being in acute care to someone who just wants to stay healthy and maintain a healthy lifestyle. All right. Got it. So how long have you been practicing chiropractic for? So I've been practicing chiropractic since 2001. So it's been about almost a little over 23 years. Probably doesn't feel that long, right? It does. You know what? When you're having fun, it goes by really quick. That's the great part. Exactly. And Dr. Papalya, so when people like come to see you, it's not always because they're like in pain, right? It's like it could be just like a tune up or something like that. Correct. Yeah. So there's a terminology out there that people say I want to come in for a tune up or a maintenance visit, and it's exactly that where patients will come in and they'll say, you know, I'm not exactly in pain, but I may feel some stiffness or it may feel some low energy, or I may be even coming down with a cold and I want to get an adjustment to kind of get my body activated to what potentially happened, or just to kind of feel a little loosened up and stay on top of their health. Kind of like we do with cars and other engines, you know, for that matter, in the sense of maintaining your body is always a cheaper way of an easier way of taking care of your body than waiting for an acute big problem to happen because then that's obviously more painful, more cumbersome because it'll be more costly, so we definitely advocate a wellness visit approach to our patients because taking care of your body is always easier and cheaper than having the way for a chronic or acute issue to happen. Yeah, you want to stop anything and it's tracks before anything bad happens. Yeah, yeah, right. Maintenance is better in any aspect of life, right? Exactly. Well, Dr. Papalia, what was it that kind of led you to a career in chiropractic? What got you here? So long story short, I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian and I was afraid of snakes, so that didn't work. And then my mom and my oldest sister got into a car accident to make a very long story short. They would come home and say, hey, we went to see this chiropractor and we're feeling better, my headaches are gone, and I was always into health and exercising. And when I met the chiropractor who treated my sister and my mom and the relief they were getting and just the results, I was so inspired by it that my senior year in high school I dedicated that I wanted to be a chiropractor. And that just transformed my mindset. I was game set to become a chiropractor since my senior year in high school. So it was just the scene of my parents, my mom and my sister just getting healthy naturally, which was really cool. There you go. I'm curious. Do snakes actually have spines? I don't know, but you know, when I did a shadowing event with a veterinarian and they asked me to hold a snake and I couldn't do it, so... So that's probably, you know, that's all the checklist of things you probably have to do with a veterinarian, right? There you go, and now I think you made the right choice here, so... Yeah, yeah. This was definitely the right choice because, you know, there's nothing better than being in a career where you know you're in the right place and then you just love what you do. And then you just love what you do every day. It makes life so much easier on you and, you know, what you do to provide great service to people in the community, you know? Exactly. Well, Dr. Papua, how do we all reach out to you and find out more about what you're doing? It's awesome. So my telephone number is 631-813-1827, and my website, it's thetalk@chiro.com.
