This is your host Phil, and our next guest here today is Samantha Bromfield, based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her business called, "The Essence of Perfection, How You Doing Today, Samantha. I'm doing well Phil, thank you so much for having me. My pleasure, thank you for joining us. So Samantha, tell us a little bit more here about your business and what services provide to people. Hey everyone, so my business name is the Essence of Perfection. We're a tech shirt based salon located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We offer hair restoration, lots of experience, we have hair extensions, and also we're working on cultivating a virtual hair university to teach everyone how to properly maintain, take care of, and make sure we don't jeopardize the integrity of textured hair. All right, how long have you been in business for with this? So I've been in business for eight years, but I have actually been in the beauty industry for over two decades. All right, got it. So how does it work when people first come to see you? And they just kind of talk with you about what they're trying to accomplish with their hair? So before most clients, we always have a consultation, so this is mandatory, just we can do an in-person or virtual consultation because we have a lot of clients that are from out of the area. The consultation is where the client and I will sit down and discuss their lifestyle, their education, home life, and time management to see what styles or actually what is best for their lifestyle because if there's a mom that had maybe five children, she doesn't have much time compared to a single woman who has a little bit more time and flexibility. Gotcha. All right. And what was it that kind of led you to this whole career path? What got you started with everything? So I feel honestly that everyone has a guide to this, so since I was seven, I started doing care. At time, I progressed. I realized that this is my passion, so I feel like my passion turned into purpose. My purpose now is just basically to number one, teach everyone around the world how to care for textured hair. I know we have a lot of interracial couples, we have a lot of parents who are foster children of other backgrounds. And I think it's very important that everyone knows how to properly care for textured hair, knowing how to choose a proper product or just having a stylist that can point you in the right direction. So for me, it's basically just trying to teach people around the world how to properly care for textured hair. All right, excellent. And is there anything else you feel like our listeners should know that you want to share with us today, anything else you want to tell us here? My biggest thing is making sure that people understand you are what you eat. The biggest part is I think a lot of listeners may not understand, "Hey, my body may be going through a lot of different elements," and that has a lot to do with your hair health as well. So hair is last to receive any nutrients in the body, so if the body is going through any deficiencies, any illness, it will show up most of the time in the hair. And I think that's a big part that we need to understand. You are what you eat, so eating healthy, maintaining a very healthy diet and then knowing how to care for your hair will make sure that you have a healthy body as well, but both go hand in hand.
