Say hello everyone and welcome back to the show. My name is Matt and right now I'm talking with Stacey Costa-Bile who is the owner of the Hair for Life Center in Ten of Fly, New Jersey. How are you today Stacey? Great, thanks for having me. Thanks for being here. So tell me more about yourself and what it is you do for a living. I am a licensed cosmetologist for over 35 years and I presently am in Ten of Fly, New Jersey. We're a hair loss center that helps women who have hair loss due to illness, compulsive disorders like pulling hair out and genetics. We are currently using the process that my father developed back in the early 80s and that is called the interlock process. It's a non-surgical method of hair enhancement that addresses the different types of hair loss we see in women. And how long have you been doing this for? Over 35 years. And what inspired you to go into this line of work? It was actually developed by my dad and early on I worked with him as a young girl and I decided that this is something that I wanted to do once I saw how he was changing people of life by using the method he invented. It was something that he had a passion for, he is the innovator of the process and we really back in early on we really didn't realize how important it was going to be for women and even young women that had been suffering from hair loss that this is going to be such a big problem for women. Generally when you see hair loss you think of men, you don't really realize women have this problem as well but he realized early on that this is something he needed to address and he developed the process and I started working with him as a young woman at 16, 17 years old and I'm carrying on his legacy now. He has since passed away back in 2016 but I still have the privilege of using the process, the proprietary process he invented which is interlock and I still carry on the method of attachment today working with people. I also have people that have still been with us from way back early on. The center is more like a family to me. These women have been with us for the duration of the inception of the process and I'm blessed every day that I can still keep this legacy going. That's great to hear. So you mentioned that you and your father kind of developed your own process of doing this. Would you care to go into a little bit more about that and just how that works? Sure. So the process is called interlock and what that means is we take a filament thread. It's like a fine filament thread and we loop the thread around three to four strands of the client's existing hair and once we position the interlock which is the method of attachment we actually have to apply them right in the area of concern or around the area of concern of where the person is having a hair look. This is a blending method. This isn't something like you would experience like when you were with or if you're gluing hair on somebody's head or extension. This is actually applied only where you need it. Once the interlocks are strategically applied then we take the hair product which is human hair and it's on a grid and that product, the hair product is actually blended onto the interlock and then the client's existing hair is blended through. So it's almost like putting a puzzle back like if you've lost hair like 80 percent or 70 percent we're only going to give you that amount of hair that has fallen out. We won't cover you 100 percent if you don't need that. The process is going to still allow your hair to grow so there is maintenance involved every four to six weeks so that we can address your regrowth. A lot of times people graduate from us as well. They won't need this for the duration if they're experiencing something like trichotolomania which is hair pulling. Once the new hair is blended on the affected area that people pull their hair out when that starts to grow back then they graduate from us and they won't need the process any longer. So there are some incidents where people don't need it for the duration. But most of the clients have hair loss that's a genetic problem. They will need it for the rest of their life and that's why we call the center the hair for life center. It's just something that once this happens if you can't find out why the hair is falling out it aids you in feeling like 100 percent again and gives you back your hair. It takes about two to three hours to do and once the hair is blended on we cut and design it to your desired look. In most cases we can give you any style you want and you can use a hair dryer, crawling iron. There's no limitations, no special shampoo. Just once we give you back your hair you live your life again like you normally would on an everyday basis. So for anyone who wants to learn more about this what's the best way to reach you? We give free consultations with an obligation and it's super important to know what people don't realize is that when a woman comes to you with hair loss you deal with them more emotionally than physically. So it's important that our center offers private rooms for both consultation and application process and that's what we do. We do offer that and the consultation to be able to book for one-on-one private consultation would be 201-731-3530 or you could visit us at the hairforlifecenter.com. Alright well thanks again for talking with us today. You're so welcome. Thank you for having me. You're welcome. Take care. Bye. And for the rest of our listeners we'll be right back with more after this quick break.
