Thank you for joining us today. >> Welcome to the Professional Podcast Network where brilliance meets business, elevates your brand, and supercharge your revenue with inspiring insights and innovation. >> Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the show. My name is Matt, and today I'm talking with Lori Carr, who is from Buffalo, New York, and is the owner of Contemporary Home Staging. How are you doing today, Lori? >> Very good. Thank you. >> Good. So why don't you tell me a bit more about yourself and what it is you do? >> Well, I do professional staging of homes that are for sale. I prefer to do vacant homes, and in that way I bring in my furnishings and decor and make the house look very pristine and nice for buyers, potential buyers. >> And how long have you been doing this for? >> Seven years. >> Let me see. And what inspired you to go into this as a career? >> Well, I used to be in the medical field, and I retired from that, and I have always wanted to do some form of decorating. So, my husband and I were flipping properties in real estate, and when the home was all re-done, I would furnish it with the state sale items, garage sale items, and make it look staged. And I got a lot of compliments from different realtors that would bring their clients through, and all of a sudden I got a phone call from one of them wanting to, asking me if I would stage their client's home. And so I did, and that started the ball rolling, I started the business. >> And so you primarily work with residential homes, you said? >> Yes, only residential and vacant homes. >> Okay. So, if a client, you know, they're drawn to buy a house by your staging, or by the furnishings you provide for the house, are they able to keep any of that, or does that, you know, get moved out once they buy the house and start to move in? >> Well, they can be a negotiable thing, but usually I try to keep my furnishings, you know, so that I have enough for the next house that I do. So I try not to sell very much of it. >> That's interesting, because I'm sure a lot of those furnishings are what, you know, draw people to buying a house. So, yeah, I wonder if they think themselves, "Oh, I want the house to look like this. I want, you know, I want to buy this style," or do they just kind of use that as a jumping off point? >> Well, I think that every listing has pictures of all of my rooms that I've done. And so the buyer can always just kind of copy, you know, what furniture I have in there, and, you know, make it look very similar, I'm sure. >> I see. >> Yeah. >> So, for, was there anything that you'd like to share with our listeners today, any services or information about your business before we start wrapping up? >> Sure. I also help the homeowner that's selling with paint colors, flooring, suggestions, things like that that can help them sell if, in fact, they have, you know, very odd colors of paint and, you know, maybe they have carpeting that could be, you know, replaced, things like that. And I also do consultation work where I come in and use, you know, like the furniture that the client already has and I give them suggestions on how to make it look nicer, you know, so that it looks a little more clutter-free and more attractive to possible buyers. >> And for anyone who wants to learn more, what's the best way to reach you? >> Yes, I can be reached at 716-359-3127. I have an email, it's l-o-r-i-l-u-c-5-5@gmail.com and either of those things work. >> Okay. Well, thanks again for talking with us today, Lori. >> Oh, you're welcome. >> And take care. >> Okay. Bye-bye. >> And for the rest of our listeners, stay tuned because we'll be back with more guests after the break. >> Welcome to the Professional Podcast Network, where brilliance meets business, elevate your brand and supercharge your revenue with inspiring insights and innovation.
