G'day, friends, it's Blistigeye and for Tuesday, you know what I don't actually know, is it the 11th? Maybe it's the 11th? No, it can't be. I have to have a look. It's Tuesday the somethingth of October, and we'll look at that in a moment. It's episode 1372, probably, I think. I've walked to work at Mobile Hearthstone podcast. So there's a reason for the confusion, and I'll go into that in a moment. Let's just say straight up, obviously, if you've seen the graphic, no gameplay today. I'm so far behind on reveals, because the reveal season's just ramped right up and there's a text message coming through, and so it's not important. You took food-based and then you're like, "Okay, yes, anyway. So I'm leaving from a hotel near where we live, because we could not say at our place last night." Well, my wife logged a job with the property manager, the real estate agent, four or five weeks ago, saying, "Hey, the toilets stand to wobble a bit," and I imagine that's obviously pretty bad. We don't want the toilet to fall over and break, so maybe not urgent, but if you could send someone out to fix it, that'd be great. We get an essay message yesterday morning saying, "There's a planet coming out to attend to the job between 12.30 and 1." He turns up, according to 11, and I was like, "What, a good thing I was here." Says very little. Basically, he comes in and goes, "To the left," he says, "Yep, toilets, to the left." Heads down to the toilet. He besties himself in there 20 minutes, comes back out and goes, "Are you all right? So you're not going to be able to use your toilet for 24 hours." And I said, "That's going to be a problem," and he said, "What? You don't have another toilet." He said, "No, we don't have another toilet." And what I wanted to say but didn't was like, "You can see the size of our apartment, you can see where there's going to be another toilet, and there isn't one." Anyway, I was like, "I have two daughters and a wife who are going to need to sit on that toilet, not telling them, you know, I also need to sit on the toilet." And he's like, "Oh, well, can't really sit on it for 24 hours," and he's that long to dry. I'm like, "I understand that." And what I didn't want to say is, "Maybe you could have told us that before you started work on it." I said, "Okay, what I need to do is going to take 24 hours for your toilet because then we could plan to, I don't know, plan a night away, stay with some friends, something like anything like that. Any of those things are things that we could plan to do." But no, he just went ahead and did it and said, "Hey, no toilet for you for 24 hours." So that was cool. And so we ended up staying in a hotel last night. And not far, actually quite close to where Mongo goes to school, she'll be able to walk to school in about 90 seconds, I think. It's just fine. As you can tell, it's also raining. But yes, it's really thrown a spinner in the works. Okay, let's get the housekeeping stuff out of the way. What was the date? The date was... It is the 15th, my goodness. That means it's not as normal a quest day. Wow, it's really rolled around quick, I guess. That's frightening given my reveal is supposed to go up on the 18th. On the reveal, I guess, the, I say, principal photographer has concluded. That means Mongoose and I have filmed ourselves. We've also filmed the animations. There, I don't know, there might be some touch up refilments, but that's kind of painful to do. So I'm not sure about that. I feel like I've got everything that I can work with edited together now. Don't have any music in there yet. And it's really lacking without the music. I'm hoping the music can pull it together. The problem is that the music with the trailer is, I don't want to say, underwhelming. But it has this sense of, it's like space, vast, drawn out, orchestral music. And that suits the vibe in some parts of our reveal, but not all of it. So I'm not sure how the music's going to pan out when I put it in there. I don't know whether at some point we will have to switch to like the regular Hearthstone theme and like chop and change back, that would actually kind of be cool, I think. I wish there were more jointing music for the expansion that I could switch to as opposed to the regular Hearthstone music, but I know it could be worse anyway. So I have edited together the Mongoose and I with the animation. And I think I'm happy with that. So the rest of it is just making the music work, which again, I think it's the hard part. And then doing the subtitles, which should be easy, but can be time consuming. So on target, I guess for posting on the 18th, which is, I mean, I think it's the 19th, my time, but still, and let's not forget that being a hold up in the hotel for the night instead of at home, well, that's just an added wrinkle in the ointment, as it were. It's a fly in the ointment, a wrinkle in the plant, I don't know. Anyway, I guess the other thing I should do is thank a patron because my goodness, couldn't do this without patrons to tell you what. Here we go. What have we got? We opened this channel in Discord. Oh, we're going to need lots of stuff because I've got tons of notes in Discord. That's what I need, isn't it? Yeah, right. So patron names. Where are we up to in the list? Apparently, we've just done Jared from South Dakota. So I guess I've seen him twice now, which is fine because all of the patrons are awesome. They all deserve to be said twice. Anyway, but next up, we have Obelix, Obelix, sorry, Obelix 1847. And I guess every time I see those numbers, I'm like, that can't possibly be your date of birth, can it? Of course not. Of course not. But who knows? Anyway, so last episode, we talked about the expansion announcement for the Great Dark Beyond. Look at that. I've got the name right. Again, I still think below. I don't know how. I don't know. Anyway, Great Dark Beyond. We had the expansion announcement and somehow I managed to talk about zero of the cards very much and barely even talked about the mechanics, let alone half of them. So that's what we're going to try and do today. And that's why there's no gameplay, but also because gameplay would have been kind of hard to come up with. Like once we realized we were going to be staying at a hotel, I had to do my pre episode homework during my work time, which didn't take long because I was like, all right, well, no gameplay. They'll make that easier. So, you know, spend 10 minutes whipping that together and whipping up the graphic. Because you've got plenty to catch up on. And like, I could foresee there being no gameplay for the rest of the week even. And not just because of how the format is. Like we did mention briefly last episode that Renethill is back until the expansion. I don't want to say Renethill has broken the meta because I like Renethill, but I know not everyone does. But apparently SpellMage is even better when you have 40 cards. And so that deck is apparently really good again. Neat. Although I did see someone posting last night that you know the best thing against 40 card big spellmages, regular big spellmage with a circle of pod. So it's all coming around. The meta, I don't know, like it's fine. Like I'm seeing a lot of Renethill and deckless that are posted, but I don't know if that means much for win rates. But again, I haven't had much chance to look because, you know, I'm trying to make a reveal. And also the reveal schedule is tight this time. And there's a lot to talk about already and we haven't talked about any of it. So I think no gameplay this week. We shall see how we go next week. But I mean, I think also once the expansion is revealed and quickly as well, right? That, you know, we're going to have the pre-release tavern brawl to be talking about and playing and that's going to be a unique experience. Like the deck I'm playing today is this pile that I've cobbled together with the cards that I've opened. It's kind of exciting and cool. But we don't actually know what that'll look like. But I'm sure there'll be plenty of gameplay around that time. Like our opponents are going to play cards and we haven't seen yet. That's going to be neat. Anyway, we'll get to that for now. Let's catch up on stuff. So where are my notes? This channel here. Here we go. All right, those are gifts that I posted to amuse my daughter because it's my notes channel. Anyway, where are we? We're scrolling a long way up. So first things first, I guess we should talk about spaceships. So spaceships are a new thing that, you know, are basically just this expansion. I doubt we'll see them again outside of said and mini set. But there are cards that have Starship piece on them. And so interestingly, when Hat shared cards with me that I was going to be revealing ahead of time, you said also look at one of these and it was like, I know, just not to confuse me, but it likes to give me an idea that there's some weirdness going on. Not saying that my cards are related to those at all, but just like, he's like, these are the cards that have been revealed before yours. In other words, with the original announcement. And so I saw some of these Starship pieces. I was like, what on earth? He's like, I know. Anyway, the first one to look at here is dimensional core three minus three, two with divine shield Starship piece. Now, what this means is when this thing dies, you start constructing a Starship, which is like a sort of a, I don't say a portal, but you know how we get like a, you know, a puck thing sitting in the middle of the table that can't do anything, right? It's just in the middle of the table. We can't interact with it, although Reno will remove it sadly, but, you know, Reno is going to rotate out after this expansion. So who knows? Anyway, actually that itself is a big topic of discussion. We talk about later, but I was going to say an expansion mechanic like Starship is really only at its best during that expansion, right? Like we're going to have another expansion after this, a new year of the whatever, and Starship will still be playable for the next year after that, but at that point it's no longer the flavor of the week as it were. It's no longer the fun new thing. It's maybe not as exciting. The four months that it's exciting are the four months where Reno Lone Ranger is still legal and Reno Lone Ranger will remove any Starship in progress. And I realize saying that now that, what do you mean by Starship in progress? So when the dimensional core or any Starship piece dies, you get this puck in the middle of the thing, which is your Starship in progress. At any time, on your turn obviously, you can pay five minutes to launch your Starship, then it stops being the uninteractable puck thing, and then becomes a Starship with stats equal to everything that's been put into the Starship and abilities that have been put into itself. If it's just a dimensional core, it'll come out a 3-2 divine shield Starship. That's cool. But also the next card, which is also another neutral. The first one's common, this one's rare. I connect to Fence Crystal. Apparently, this is better than it looks. It's a four-minute three-four with taunt deathrattle gain, six-armon, Starship piece. So a four-minute three-four with taunt and deathrattle gain, six-armoners. It's not a particularly spectacular card, like a sentient shield master, which is a vanilla corset card that nobody plays, which is the, like I said, it's not vanilla, is it? It's got taunt. The four-minute three-five with taunt, like, it was only really played in the original inclination of Hearthstone. It's not playable now. I mean, we get stuff like it every now and again, and consider it arena playable, but not standard playable. So this thing is worse than that technically outside of the deathrattle gain, six-armoners. The deathrattle gain, six-armoners. I mean, it is kind of a bit. Like, if you're playing this and then gaining six-armoners, like, your aggro opponent's like, "Ah, well, that was a speed bump. It was easy to run across." "Oh, you've got so much health." So that's not bad. Not to mention, this is not a Starship piece, so this becomes a thing that's added to your Starship. So even if Archonnet Defense Crystal is the only thing you've added to your Starship, on turn five, you can pay five-miner again to get it basically another one. And so four-miner three-four taunt when it dies gets six-armoners, which then also allows you to pay five-miners to get another three-four taunt which when it dies uses. That's actually quite good, even if it's, you know, minor expensive by the time. But then if we look at it as dimensional core on turn three adds to the Starship, Archonnet Defense Crystal on four will add to the Starship. And five if you want to launch your Starship then, and they're both in there, well, now you've got a six-six taunt with Divine Shield that when it dies gets you six-armoners, that's actually adding up to be quite a lot. That's kind of cool. You don't have to launch your Starship on turn five, obviously you can launch it whenever. And so you could keep building it, it's kind of exciting. The next Starship card that we saw during the original reveal was a Druid one, Starlight Reactor. And, you know, you can see that's partly why we're sharing with these ahead of time because my reveal is a Druid reveal. The Starlight Reactor is a rare three-mount of three-three. After you've cast an Arcane Spell, re-cast it, the target's chosen randomly, Starship Peace. Now, the ability after you cast an Arcane Spell, Re-cast it targets chosen randomly, that's a bit all over the place. Not entirely sure whether that's what we want to be doing, but it's still relatively powerful. And then, of course, when you launch your Starship, you're going to have that ability again. And let's face it, if you've got the dimensional core or Defense Crystal combo going, and you put a Starlight Reactor on it, suddenly you've got like a Nine-Nine to want to divide and shield when it dies, you gain six armor and also the next time you, you know, when you play Arcane Spell, so re-cast them and target's chosen randomly, like, there's a lot going on there all of a sudden, right? So the Starship can get quite big. The last one from the original reveal that was related to Druid was Xarch, Xarch, I think it's Xarch, Otha. There's actually a fun video on Socials from the Playhouse Stone team with the influencers who were part of the original reveal, trying to pronounce these card names and get them wrong. And so I think Voxy got this one right, and then I probably forgot how she said it was Othaar. I think it might have been Othaar. Xarch, Othaar. There's a four-minute three-three. Yeah. That's a little low. It's a drain eye. We'll talk about that in a moment. I know it needs to know last episode. We'll talk about it in a moment. Belkrite, if you're building a Starship, so you've got to be already building a Starship. So, you know, your dimensional core died on turn three. Wait, by the way, it has Divine Shield. It doesn't necessarily die that easily, right? And then also maybe your starlight reactor could die on turn three. Anyway, if you're building a Starship, get three different arcane spells and reduce their cost by two. So even though it costs five to launch your Starship, if you've got your starlight reactor in there, you've now got three random arcane spells which have their cost reduced, which may mean that they could be a lot cheaper to play. And there are plenty of arcane spells that don't target, right? So the downside of targets chosen randomly may not be that bad. So, interesting. Anyway, it's a powerful mechanic. It looks like fun. The only true downside is that Reno can take out a Starship in progress, but Reno really only happens once, outside of photographer shenanigans. It's not very often to get Reno twice. In fact, honestly, you get a big Starship Renode mid-building, like you knew the risks because you can tell when you're playing Easter Reno deck often, right? Yeah, I'll talk more about Reno maybe another episode because I've got a lot to say about. As much as I enjoy Reno, like anyway, Draenai. Othai is Draenai. We talked about Draenai last episode. It's a new class type, card type, but it's not really a card type as it's a minion type. That's what it is. It's one of the two races that were added during the Burning Crusade, World of Warcraft expansion, the other one being Blood Elf. So we can't rule out entirely that Blood Elf isn't coming some other time. Somebody saw something in Battlegrounds that accidentally revealed humans and orcs and things as minion types, so people were like, "Ooh, ooh, there are lots more to come." And then one of the devs was like, "No, no, that's just a bug that was pulling on all the old mercenary card types." That's true. Those were minion types in the mercenaries, so not necessarily, but it's possible. The original races from World of Warcraft for Alliance were Gnome, Dwarf, Human and Night Elf. We've got plenty of cards that could fit those types now. So if we went and added all those minion types, there's a lot. I'm just realizing that I don't think it's raining right now, so you'll probably put the umbrella down, which eases what I'm holding in my hands a little, even though I need to have my phone open to refer to my notes. But we have lots of cards that look like dwarfs, for example, which also possibly have a different card type, I don't know. But under Horde, we have, I want to say undead, but it's not actually undead. We'll get to that in a moment, we have Ork's, Trolls, Toron and Undead, but undead is actually just forsaken, which is a subsect of undead. There are zombies, like undead would be, but they sort of came up under Sylvanas. They're not the same as undead. You could see undead as being actual zombies and brainless, whereas the forsaken look like zombies, but actually are more sentient than zombies would traditionally be. So it's not quite undead. But once we had undead added as a minion type, back with much of the Lich King, was it? Or who knows what it was, I think it was. And people are like, "Oh, are we going to get all the other races?" But then it's like, "Well, it's a bit confusing, because not all undead are the Horde race." But now we have Draenai, which is literally an alliance race, opens the door, are we going to get many of the others? And I guess technically we can. We already have dual types for minions, so minions can have two types, so even if you're adding all of these types to things that already have types, I think it's very doable. Who knows whether they'll do that? Maybe this is, like, it's certainly not something they need to do in one big push, they need to add Draenai now. And then this time next year, they can add orcs, maybe. Who knows? Anyway, that's kind of cool. The Draenai mechanically have a thing where they sort of support each other a lot, because they are very supportive. The first one we're going to, "Oh, great. My discord's scrolled all the way down to the current timeline where I'm not up to yet. Let's scroll back. All right, so Starlight Wanderer is a common one-minute two-one Draenai battle cry. The next Draenai you play against plus two plus one. So often you're playing a Draenai and then later another Draenai is going to benefit from it. So that's kind of neat. Now let's look at a couple of mage Draenai. We're going to look at ingenious artificer. This is a rear five-minute four-six. Why would you be leaf-blowing when it's wet? Like you really have to push the leaf-blower so hard to blow anything that's wet on the ground. Oh, look, I know how this works, right? You book a gardener to come in and do your gardens on a date. The gardener goes, "No, it's raining, mate. I'm not going to do it." Well, they're not going to earn their money for the day. They get paid for the work they do, not like on a salary, right? So they're going to come out. They're going to try and blow leaves around because that's what they're being paid to do, even though it's silly. Anyway, ingenious artificer five-minute four-six rear battle cry. The next Draenai you play refreshes mana crystals equal to its attack. See? Also helping others. And also, not to mention, I guess, Starlight Wanderer, like that thing's got two attack. You're playing it for one mana. That's going to refresh two mana crystals, deck it out up. If something is being buffed by Starlight Wanderer, I mean, I guess you don't get ingenious artificer buffering something, but like, imagine if the Starlight Wanderer was about to refresh mana crystals equal to its attack and it'd already been buffed by something else. So it was refreshing like four mana crystals. Anyway, the next major one to look at is Aquing Pilot, which is another Draenai. Even mana for three rear, so not terrific stats. At the end of your turn, deal three damage to a random enemy, it's a bit all over the place. Spellburst, summon an Aquing Pilot. So let's talk about Spellburst briefly. It's a returning mechanic. It's a thing where a card has a one-off thing where if you play a spell, you do the ability. Once you play the spell, the spellburst is gone and no longer does its thing. That's a one-off thing. So what we're looking at here is we play ingenious artificer. And so the next Draenai that we play is going to refresh mana crystals equal to its attack. And then you play for seven mana and Aquing Pilot. Obviously on the following turn, that thing immediately refreshes more four mana crystals, which immediately gives you the mana to be playing a spell. And you play the spell and it's Spellburst, summon's another Aquing Pilot. And so now at the end of your turn, you're dealing three damage twice to random enemies. And then of course, maybe you can afford to pay two spells. So the second Aquing Pilot could summon a third Aquing Pilot, I'm guessing. I'm assuming that's how it works, right? Like it says summon an Aquing Pilot. So the new one that you've summoned didn't pick up the spellburst from the first one. It's not copying the first one. Assistant new Aquing Pilot. So we'll have Spellburst so it can go again. So you could chain a bunch of these things into play. And obviously the ingenious artificer is going to help do that. So that, I think, gives you some idea of how the Draenai can work together to do things, right? They chain off each other. We also have a neutral legendary Velen leader of the exiles. So Velen, we had a priest legendary in the corset called Velen. It was a 7-7, 7-7, your healing and damage spells a double, or just your healing and damage is double for something. So it became a bit of a combo piece at some point, along with Maligos and stuff. And because of that, they rotated it out. It was fine. Or it moved it from core at least. Velen is a 7-7 neutral legendary taunt, deathrattle, trigger the battle cries and deathrattle of all other Draenai, you've played this game. It's pretty good. So I was just hearing a sound. I think it's someone behind me talking. I don't think the volume's up in my phone. It's not a battle cry, of course. So Velen has to die. Velen has taunts, so Velen probably will die. But once it dies, we're repeating a lot of battle cries. And battle cries of refreshing mana crystals, obviously you don't do a lot if it's not your turn, because you get your mana crystals refreshed anyway. But like, you know, the engineers, Artyvus is just going to say the next time you play Draenai refresh mana crystals, you get to attack. Even the little, the 1-mile one, that's going to give another one two plus one. Like, there's a lot of great battle cries here and deathrattle that are going to be happening when you have Velen die. So they're all going to work together. Velen's a bit of a centerpiece for the whole Draenai thing, which is interesting. Does that mean we're not going to see very much Draenai after this? I assume we are. And I imagine that Draenai going forward will still have similar, the next Draenai you play does things. You know, kind of like how merlocks are always helping each other. Draenai will probably always be helping each other. Anyway, interesting. So with the reveal, the expansion announcement, we were given a card immediately from the set, which has Spellburst, speaking of Spellburst, and that's Nexus Prince Shafar, a 3-minute 3-3 legendary Spellburst. Give a, give a minion in your hand plus 3-plus-3 and this Spellburst. So you play Shafar and you play a Spell, now something in your hand has got plus 3-plus-3 and the Spellburst. Ability, which means that when you play that minion and then play a Spell, you buff something else in the hand, pass it on. This sounds powerful, it's a bit slow. You need to have a deck that has a fair amount of minions to make sure you've always got something to hit and a fair amount of spells to always make sure you can trigger Spellburst, right? So it's a very specific thing you're doing, but it's pretty cool. I haven't looked closely enough at standard, working on a reveal to know whether anyone has been abusing this, but I've certainly seen people meeting with it and that's cool. All right, moving on, because we've already seen at least two classes worth of reveals now, and I have notes for one of them, but we'll get to the others, I guess, next episode maybe. Oh my gosh. I almost was not going to be able to record this episode today, because it was raining when we woke up, and it's not raining too much from now, but just trying to get everyone out of the hotel in time. Anyway, Asgara, Priest Legendary, because we've got the Priest Cards first, everyone's favorite class. Some people enjoy Priest, I'm not gonna lie, I have enjoyed Priest from time to time, even if not lately. I mean, it's not even though I don't enjoy Priest, I've played Priest a lot, Priest is a class that I have a lot of wins on compared to some others. Anyway, Asgara, 5-4-5 Draenei Legendary for Priest, battle cry the next Draenei you play, summons a copy of itself. That's pretty powerful. So, at the very least, a 5-4-5 is below stats, that's less than Yiddy, and it's like, okay, more expensive than Yiddy, I should say, that's the same size as Yiddy. But the fact that the next Draenei you play, you're getting two of, is not nothing. Now obviously, we've been looking at major Draenei now, or neutral Draenei, but, I don't know, leading to this with Velen, and you'll get two Velens, and the Velens will be repeating battle cries and d- oh my gosh, the first Velen to die after Asgara will trigger its death rattle, the second Velen to die, because you've got two of them, will trigger the first Velen's death rattle, maybe? I'm not so sure about this, that sounds silly, anyway, we see. The next Priest Legendary, it looks like Kayapostrophe Uari, Kay Yura, right? And how do you pronounce it, apparently from the teaser video thing on Twitter and stuff? I think it's like, Kurei, which, weird, because I'm Rey, that's odd. Anyway, it's a 3-3 legendary spell burst, so I'm going to round on 3 cost minion, holy spells don't remove the spell burst. So I mentioned earlier that spell burst is a one-shot thing. Every time you trigger spell burst on Kurei, that's going to be weird. With a holy spell, you're just going to keep doing it. Now, not all holy spells are terrific. And so, I don't think funnel cakes is a holy spell, right? I don't think it is. I'm pretty sure it's not. So if you were to play Kurei and then holy funnel cakes, because you're like, "Ha ha!" I want more mana to be able to do this thing, it's going to say, "Well, that was a non-holy spell, so the spell burst is now gone." So it's got to be holy spell, holy spell, holy spell, non-holy spell, and then it's used up to get the most out of it, or just infinite holy spells, and I don't think there are a lot of holy spells that are giving you more mana to be able to abuse this. But you know, people are frightened. We used to have holy circle of healing, the zero mana pre- spell that healed four to all minions and cost zero mana. Clearly, that would be great, although, I mean, just a zero mana spell, just to go, "Oh, this is all right." There are certainly other ways of getting zero mana pre-s' holy spells that heal things. I think bandage is holy. I'm getting raindrops falling on me. Like, it's not raining, but like, I'm walking under a tree, they're splashing in my eye. Anyway, maybe I should have the umbrella up. I'll put it back up again. The umbrella down was an effort to streamline getting into the train station, but I'm not really that close to the train station yet. All right, let's get the umbrella back up. There it is, getting stuck, oh, there we go. Okay, best radio, can't believe it, all right, now yeah, overzealous healer. This is a priest one mana rare three three, and oh, priest doesn't usually give you great stats for the cost, right? So this is a standout weak card that, I mean, not really short the homers, but it says death rattle restore sticks health to the enemy hero, all right, so you drop this on one and can't just go face it a lot because when it dies, it'll heal them for the face damage is done. It can value trade the board a lot. So a control priest is probably more than happy to have this and go sweet. One mana for a three three, I can play that one turn four along with other stuff. Like this is great. I'm developing on the board something the downside is something I don't care about because who cares about healing them and it helped me maintain control of the board. Now that's a lot of people's least favorite priest to face. I don't enjoy facing it. I do enjoy playing it, but also it has spell with silence this minion. So like if you can follow this up immediately with a spell, it's just a one mana three three, you're totally happy. It's not really just a one mana three three because you had to play spell, but do you have a spell you want to play? Maybe could be exciting. So is this some kind of low curve aggressive priest? Like Pip the Potent will give you a copy of this too if it's in hand. There's some things you can do with this. This is not nothing. It is quite threatening. Anyway, moving on, light speed, a two mana holy spell, holy spell. Give a minion plus one plus two and rush. Fair enough. It's not a lot of stats for two mana. Rush is pretty good though. I don't know if you want to give it your a rush, but I guess if a pure ray or whatever it's called is a four five, it's certainly bigger than a three three. Repeated with this turn. So it's holy spell, it's repeatable with this turn, it's really with a pure ray. That's a thing you can get a lot of three cost minions out of and also you can give a lot of them rush. Not not to be sneered at I think, like that's quite something. If only we can't reduce this thankfully, oh wait, radiant elemental can reduce this. I don't know if there's an old minion that's in wild, say two mana, two three, the cost of your spells cost one less. That's not so bad. This takes it into one mana, right? Yeah, but what if you have a second one and you're like, surely, how can you do that? In wild right now, one of the best decks is a deck that will find these things and you have many of them in play and make all this stuff cost nothing and they'll draw through a lot of the deck and they'll make the minions very big and hit you with them. It's a little ouch. So we can get two radiant elements into play, relatively easy in wild. Like creation protocol is very easy for that. You go creation protocol on turn two, while you forge it on turn two because if it's forged, you get two copies of the minion you find. You don't have very many minions in your deck so you're pretty much always finding radio though. To turn two, you're playing it. I'm sorry, turn two, you're forging it, turn three, you're playing it and you've got one mana left over by the way. Who knows what you want to do with that? And then you're getting two radiant elements. To turn four, you play radiant elemental, radiant elemental, radiant elemental. And then you can technically play light speed as many times as you can with the rope and they all have rush and say, wait a minute, that can't be right. Surely we're not letting that go live and we're not. I think Necrodan already said the devs are aware of that, right, in our discord. And Riddicki's head already came and said, yeah, you don't have to worry about that. So I would say this is getting the Sorcerer's Apprentice treatment, making it two mana and can't reduce less than one. We know what happens when you try and make Sorcerer's Apprentice four mana. It's still doable, right? That's not great. So it's got to be the not less than one treatment and we're pretty sure that's what's going to be happening. Moving on, we have another pre-spell, Orbital Halo, that's the part I used for the graphics today. Again, I did not have a lot of time, it's not the best art, it'll do. Orbital Halo is a two mana holy spell, okay, two mana holy spell, there's a Q array, there's loving that. Give a minion plus two plus one and divine shield, got zero if you've played an adjacent card this turn. So this is a new thing, Orbital cards, basically they have something, some bonus to them if you've played the card in your hand next to them first, an adjacent card, because of orbiting. Right, that's cute, that's clever, this one costs zero, so if you play Q array, am I getting the name right? I don't know yet. That's definitely raining in now, so I'm glad I put the umbrella on, wow. I think that's just a lot of water coming out of trees, just there, wind must have blown the tree and shaken a lot loose, because I don't see the big rain falling elsewhere, just there. Anyway, Q array, Q array next to Orbital Halo, now the Orbital Halo is free, it'll give you a Q array plus two plus one divine shield and have been zero mana because it's Orbital, and immediately you get a three drop, and because it's holy you didn't remove the spell burst. We're cooking, we've got things we're doing here. Now onto a particularly exciting for some and perhaps dread inspiring card for others, we have a priest epic, incredibly cutar, a very alien looking thing, mystified tocha, one mana for two, battle cry, if the combined health of both heroes is exactly 42, set your heroes health to 42. Now that may not be apparent to you what's happening there, but as long as everyone's health is combined to 42, this thing will be lit up yellow in your hand, it'll set your health to 42, which is a lot, that's a lot for it to be set to. You could be on five health for all we know, I guess your opponent would have to be on 37, you could be on five health, and your opponent's on 37 somehow, then you play this, you go on to 42, that's a lot, 42 significance, hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, we'll take it, that's hilarious, if you've not read the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, it's worth a read, I don't think it's particularly well written. I have enjoyed it, it's funny, I think it's very clever, it's funny, but it reads to me like something that was written as a stream of consciousness without much plan, and I kind of think it maybe was, it was originally like a radio play, so you know, episodic each week, so it was probably written as it was going, and I think it changes from that to the book, like, it's all over the place, but I think Douglas Adams was pretty special, he wrote a different book about endangered species that included a passage on New Zealand, so you know, dear to my heart there, but hot take, I don't think the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series is particularly well written in that it feels aimless, it feels like it's wandering all over the place, you don't know where it's going, but also in the 70s, which is probably when this kind of started, I guess, like it's more of an 80s thing, like that was a thing, art sometimes was unpredictable all over the place, so I think it's allowed to even be like that, even though you don't know where it's going, anyway at some point, 42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything, what's the answer to life, the universe and everything, 42, like some alien race creates a giant planet-sized computer to figure out the answers to life, the universe and everything, I think it's like the second or third book in the series, it's called Life, the Universe and everything, and after multiple generations, this computer finally speaks to the answer of 42, and of course they're all like, okay, let's ask us another question, what is the question to life, the universe and everything, so we can figure out why the answer is 42, and the question came out as, is it six times eight, I think, which doesn't equal 42, like six times seven equals 42, so that was also funny, because like, after more generations, the answer is not equal to the question, fantastic, anyway, that's, I think, why this card is 42, now let's talk about what it means in the game of Hearthstone, and we're walking up the stairs to the train station, which means I'm losing my hands, so I can just lock my phone, put it in my pocket, because I'm pretty sure I can talk about this 42 card, mystical tow charge, that's what it's called, I mean, everyone's just going to call it 42, what a wonderful idea, thematically, how does this work in practice, so you're going to be planning this to priest, I'm assuming it has to be some kind of controlling priest, and the grace of priest does not care too much about setting it themselves to 42, and doesn't want to play a minion that is a four mana four two otherwise, so it has to be some kind of controlling priest, your health and their health combined has to be 42, so they probably want to be able to heal themselves more than just two with the hero power, because if you're opposing this kind of thing and you can see it coming, you can smell it, you can smell the 42 coming, like you can play around it, now it may not feel like it, the head designer of the set, the lead designer of the set, Julio Robles Gonzalez, we love him, he is hilarious, he's clearly very good at designing Hearthstone, may not be as good at playing Hearthstone, but honestly that shouldn't be the case, it shouldn't be a thing that matters, he tweeted that in playtesting Galen, so Edward, another senior designer, but I think he's, I think he might be on initial design now, but he used to be on final design, he is a very good player, he goes, he set his health to 42 twice in one game, like I hate to say it Leo, but you've probably walked into that a little bit, as the priest player you want to try and align up so that your health and their health are similar, at they're still on 30, because you haven't been damaging them, you want to be on 12, right? Which means you need to pass the turn back higher than 12, and expect that the amount of damage they do to you will get you close enough to 12 by under slightly, and I think you can hear yourself doing your turn to get you up to 12, and then you can play this to get to 42, right? Your opponent of course is very aware of this, they smell the 42 coming, they're going to be like, well I want to put them above 12, because it's harder for them to take damage to put themselves down to 12, or I want to damage myself so that we're going well under 42, and it's harder for them to heal up to 42, like all of these things are possible, and something that you might have to consider. At some point you're like, you know, attack my opponent, we're getting that face damage in, it's going well, you know what, I'm going to pass up two of these attacks this turn, because I don't want to get them too close to 12. We've also already had some pre-stuff in the previous expansion that toyed with self-damage, acupuncture for example, one mana, four damage to each arrow, a shadow spell, that's a lot damage, not the kind of thing a control priest wants to play, right? But even if it's just randomly generating this, that's the thing a priest could suddenly play that might bring you both down into range of 42, so if your opponent was on 30, and you're dealing 40 with acupuncture, obviously what you want to do is you want to get them down to 26, and so you need to be on 16 to equal 42. So like, there's lots of weird math going on, I don't think this is a problem, I think this is wacky, this is like the file math, but for something else, the priest is the one who wants to do a lot, but if you smell it coming, you kind of have to do it a bit, I think that's hilarious, I think that's fun, I don't know that it's necessarily fun to play with, no it probably is fun to play with, I don't think it's necessarily fun to play around, but it's pretty hilarious that it exists, and I really like designs like this, especially like the given the number 42 is, it's probably not chosen for balance concerns, it's probably chosen because Leo is making a space hit, and hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is very much a space thing, haven't seen all the cards, but I really hope there's a towel reference in here somewhere, which is another hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy rigor, as much as I talked about how, so Easter egg right, as much as I talked about how I think hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is not very well written, I did really very much enjoy it, and love that it exists, don't get me wrong right, I'm being very picky when I say that, anyway, mystified tocha, wonderful looking card, now I don't think there's a train just here yet, and there is going to be one in a moment, and I'm on the train platform, so I should not be picking too many cards to say, but I do want to talk about Kil'jaeden, which is a neutral 7-7-7 demon legendary, battle cry, replace your deck with an endless portal of demons, each turn they gain an additional +2, plus 2, here comes the train, this card means you're not going to go into fatigue, if somebody forces you to draw cards, you're destroying demons, they're random demons, which is not great, but each turn they're getting bigger and bigger, like just a random two-man demon that comes out of this could be 6-6 or 8-8 by then, like that's quite powerful, that's a very powerful late game thing, it's probably something that an aggressive deck wants to play as a pro as opposed to a control deck, because it doesn't have a lot of reactive stuff in it, it's probably more you're promising larger and larger threats, this is the kind of thing that says that if you're a slower and more controlling player, you need to be ready, you can hear me clicking down the umbrella here, it's about to go on the train, like still exciting looking card, and also sealing on the whole metal game thing, but also Reno from your room, no, Reno can't take your portal because it's not in play, ooh, apparently Leo created this card, because he saw the Battlegrounds duo portal on the side, and was jealous that we didn't have it in standard hustle, and so made this card so we would have a portal over a deck, I love that story too, anyway look, time for me to sign off, follow me on Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube @PrisTheGuy, follow the podcast, we'll talk to you on Twitter and come hang on, just go dot me slash @PrisTheGuy, it's always a pleasure to have you join me for my work work, good luck everyone, everything you're doing to sharps up buddy legends and I love you all, oh I rushed that one, but I think I got it, okay, thanks a lot.
